Reigen's storyline is so beautiful, you know? All memes aside, it's the story of a guy who never really cared or put effort into anything, never found a spark of personal inspiration or satisfaction, and just lived life however he pleased, but through the love and care of others, grew so much and proved that taking life un-seriously doesn't make you a bad person.

Like, the guy quits his relatively normal job to run a quick-money con, and tbh, even if he wasn't actually exorcising spirits, he was actually providing a service to people. He would listen and believe (even if he was lying and thinking "man what a weirdo") when people would say outlandish things, he'd give help to those experiencing physical pain, give life advice, offer consolation, things like this, even if it was under false pretences, and it obviously worked, because he was running the shop even before Shigeo came along.

But meeting this tiny kid who looked up to him so earnestly made him feel special, he finally found a purpose in life. And sure their friendship was built on a misunderstanding that became a lie, but he learned and grew because he wanted to be everything this kid believed he was. He started to become more earnest because of his influence.

He started being a positive influence on so many people after Shigeo came along, too. Scar branch 7 literally reformed their lives to become normal citizens; Serizawa started to get treated like a person and his self-image got tons better, even to want to go back to school; he gave Tome a place to fit in and thrive, and even the ripples in his connections to other people positively impacted so many lives.

And his storyline cultivating in him accepting that he's not everything he said he was, telling Mob to his face that it was a lie, the growth he went through by literally telling people to be Better and pushing himself to be better as proof it's possible. The natural ability of a teacher is to teach through demonstration, and my goodness he's an excellent teacher.

Underrated sidenote but also it hits hard every time I remember that he quit smoking because of mob too, when smoking is a literal addiction. He's just awesome and kind and I'm proud of him and I love him
