It's my 20th birthday today <3
#I stayed up until 4am (my exact birth time ajusted for time zone) with 3 of my closest and oldest friends and it was really nice#this photo was taken a few minutes after 4 and the pie is on the balcony edge of my friend's downtown tattoo studio that we stayed at#the missing quarter was given to two people who had to leave early to prepare to drive to Portland today lol

feeling sick about the election god i hate this so much
#apparently the trump statue that got beheaded hours after appearing on the streets of downtown (portland)#was actually an anonymous anti-trump art installation w the pussy quote on it that someone thought was a good idea#and it was beheaded by trump supporters who were big mad about it#i am legitimately freaking out though about everything and i don't know what to do

Ok yeah, that was worth dragging my sorry carcass downtown for (genuine)
#Misadventures around PDX#But it was the first time in recent memory that I enjoyed being downtown#I find Portland's downtown to be opressively unfriendly to the point that it almost feels hostile#Besides Cleveland I've never had any other city's downtown give me that feeling of an increasingly cornered animal that has to get out NOW#But man ... tonight it felt alive. There was excitement & playfulness rather than the usual miserable atmosphere.#People were (mostly) polite and it felt more like a community than I've ever seen it - even in previous festival years#Art istallations were all over the downtown area with many in the nearly endless vacant store windows#Man ... it's gonna hurt when the festival is over and things return to 'normal'#Portland Winter Light Festival

i was becoming crazy due to being inside a lot so today i hopped on the public transit train here and rode it for like six hours. i am now home and less crazy but extremely tired so i'm going to bed gn all.
#got lunch at a mexican food truck in downtown portland where the lady complimented my spanish pronunciation and called me 'my dear'#getting a good grade in interactions with strangers something thats normal to want and possible to achieve#i am So So So Tired now. my pain meds wore off and sitting up for long periods of time does unfortunately still take a toll on me#especially bc trimet seats are... not exactly built for comfort#a guy on the train at 11am had crawled underneath three seats and gone to sleep there#PROBABLY he was drunk but also. dude had the right idea.
