I don't know if we'll ever learn why Sand is still not giving in and saying yes to being Pond's boyfriend. But to me it's because actually the ladybug gang (or at the very least ArmSand) dated for a while before realising their feelings for each other are platonic love, not romantic, which didn't only mess with Arm's head but also Sand's. Which is why they're both afraid to get into a relationship again, just in case they're misunderstanding their feelings again.
