Major Study W3- Making
For this week I made some details to my character. I have researched the characteristics of my model. With that reference I made some corrections and added some ornaments for my model.
I created a curve and transformed corresponding to the body. After that I made that to thickness. The kings ruled in vedic period wear silk dhotis and wear some ornaments. Also, there were some categories who wear "Poonool" (that white thread which symbolize their community and brahmacharya). I have created that white thread for the character.

When we look into it thus we will find that it is not Sangh Parivar who began this, but Indira Gandhi. It is from the time of Indira Gandhi that the attempt to propagate Brahminism in this kind of an obvious way, explicitly, began. We saw it in Rajiv Gandhi too. We also saw it in the recent election campaign of Rahul Gandhi where the Janeu/poonool (sacred thread) is exhibited.

Sexism, patriarchy, misogyny reside nowhere more than in religion. I'd like to ask the women who go, "Going against religion isn't feminism," What calls you filthy? What says you have less importance than men? Can you wear the poonool (Brahmin sacred thread) as a woman? Can you learn the vedas? Can women divorce in one declaration? Why does Draupadi's virginity need to be restored and not her husbands'? Why does a woman who isn't virgin worthy of condemnation while the same doesn't apply to men? What Periyar, Raja Ram Mohan Roy all went against first in the name of feminism? Religion is created by man to systematically oppress, subjugate and enslave women and to exploit the working class - the root cause is religion. In order to sound inclusive (but would attack Muslims for eating beef) these people say no religion preaches cruelty, even Islam. Saudi recently banned women from entering libraries. The women who walked without abaya risk being killed. No religion preaches cruelty it seems despite violence against the Dalits happen prevalently. Then, they go on and on and on about interpretation and human fallibility in interpreting those 'divine verses.' I don't care about interpretation. At a time where people are being killed for exercising basic human rights, you are talking about interpretation. There is no luxury to divulge into interpretation, I'm sorry when people are horrifically exploited!
IF I SEE BHAGAVAD GITA/THE BIBLE/QURAN IN A SEA AND YOU DROWNING BESIDE IT, I'LL SAVE YOU, NOT THE SCRIPTURE. YOU'RE HOLY. YOUR LIFE IS HOLY. That's the principle applied by Karutthu Kannammaa. YOU are important coz you're human. Your RELIGION is at the bottom of the barrel.

In the Land of Periyar, To Protest against Brahminism, Dravidian Outfit to Make Pig Wear Janeu
In the Land of Periyar, To Protest against Brahminism, Dravidian Outfit to Make Pig Wear Janeu
In the land of Periyar, Tamil Nadu, a revolutionary step has been taken by the Dravidian outfit, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK). It is organising an event on 7th August where pigs will be adorned with Janeu (poonool as it is called by Tamil Brahmins) as a symbol of protest against Brahminism. “The poonool turns a Parappan into a Brahmin and a Tamilian into a Shudhran” – This startling…

An auspicious day. Kids received a good dose of Indian culture thanks to my parents. We "threw" out our old sacred threads and donned new ones. © Seshu Photography - http://seshuphotography.com #indian #culture #sacredthread #poonool #pandigai #grandparents #prostrating #genuflection #namaskarams #elders #india #hindu #hinduism
