Women's T20 WC 2024: Jemimah, Pooja Vastrakar help India prevail against West Indies in warm-up game
Team India kicked off their Women's T20 World Cup warm-up with a 20-run victory over West Indies, but it was a challenging match. Batting first, India struggled early, losing three wickets in the powerplay. Jemimah Rodrigues and Yastika Bhatia steadied the innings with a 50-run partnership, but the team faced another lower-order collapse. India managed to post 140 runs, thanks to contributions from Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar. With strong bowling, India dismissed West Indies for 120, with Asha Sobhana's crucial wicket of Shemaine Campbelle marking a turning point. India's batting order remains uncertain ahead of their next match against South Africa.

Mandhana, Ghosh power India to series win
/India 217/5 (20 overs) | West Indies 157/9 (20 overs) India won by 60 runs India beat West Indies by 60 runs in the third T20I in Navi Mumbai, clinching the series 2-1. Smriti Mandhana played a classy knock of 77 off 47, while Richa Ghosh blasted 54 off 21 balls to help India reach 217/5. Despite a brave cameo from Chinelle Henry (43 off 16), West Indies couldn’t chase down the target. India’s bowlers, led by Radha Yadav (4/29), sealed the victory.    India’s Innings: Mandhana’s Classy Fifty: India’s innings started with Uma Chetry falling early. However, Smriti Mandhana countered aggressively, adding 98 runs with Jemimah Rodrigues (39 off 28). The duo took advantage of easy batting conditions due to dew. Powerplay Dominance: India raced to 61 runs in the first six overs. Mandhana’s aggressive strokeplay set the tone. Rodrigues also looked in good touch, capitalizing on loose deliveries. Richa Ghosh’s Explosive Finish: Rodrigues was dismissed right after the drinks break. However, Raghvi Bist (31* off 22) supported Mandhana in another 44-run stand. Mandhana fell to Deandra Dottin, but Richa Ghosh took charge. She smashed five sixes and three fours, reaching her fifty off 18 balls, the fastest by an Indian in T20Is. India finished at 217/5. West Indies’ Chase: Early Setbacks: West Indies needed 218, but the chase faltered early. Qiana Joseph hit a six before getting out. Hayley Matthews (22 off 17) and Deandra Dottin (25 off 17) couldn’t build a substantial partnership. Chinelle Henry’s Brave Fight: Chinelle Henry tried to keep West Indies alive with a quick 43 off 16 balls. However, wickets kept falling, and the target was always out of reach. India’s bowlers, especially Radha Yadav, kept the pressure on. India’s Bowlers Step Up: Radha Yadav (4-29) was the pick of the bowlers. She varied her pace well and took crucial wickets. India’s fielding improved, and they held their catches. Pooja Vastrakar and Rajeshwari Gayakwad also kept the West Indies in check. Summary: India 217/5 in 20 overs Mandhana 77, Richa Ghosh 54; Chinelle Henry 1/14 West Indies 157/9 in 20 overs Chinelle Henry 43; Radha Yadav 4/29 India’s win by 60 runs was powered by Mandhana‘s foundation and Ghosh‘s fireworks. Despite Henry‘s fight, West Indies never got close to the target. With this win, India claimed the T20I series 2-1. More:https://cricinfo.cc/mandhana-ghosh-power-india-to-series-win/

[ad_1] Shafali Verma has been dropped. PC – BCCI Shafali Verma, the 20-year-old batter, has been left out of the India squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia, starting on December 5 in Brisbane. Shreyanka Patil, Dylan Hemalatha, Uma Chetry, Asha Sobhana, Pooja Vastrakar and Sayali Satgare aren’t part of the squad either. On the other hand, Hasabnis accumulated 57 runs during that series.  Harleen Deol, the spinning all-rounder, returns to the set-up. Harleen, who has played 34 times for the country, was laid low by a knee injury while representing Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League. Khelostar - WPL 2024 Eliminator: RCB vs MI - Fight for the Final!
The pressure is on! It's do-or-die time in the WPL 2024 Eliminator as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) takes on Mumbai Indians (MI) in a high-stakes clash. The winner advances to the coveted WPL final, while the loser's journey ends. Get ready for an electrifying battle between two T20 powerhouses!
Tumblr media
Brace yourselves, cricket fans! The WPL 2024 Eliminator is upon us, and it promises to be a nail-biting encounter. Two of the most decorated teams in the league, RCB and MI, go head-to-head in a winner-takes-all contest with a place in the grand finale on the line. The atmosphere will be electric as both teams boast passionate fan bases and a rich history of success in women's cricket.
RCB's Road to Redemption:
RCB, known for their aggressive batting approach, have had an eventful WPL 2024 campaign. They started strong, showcasing exceptional batting firepower and a potent bowling attack. However, a few inconsistent performances saw them slipping down the points table. But RCB displayed their fighting spirit by winning crucial matches in the latter stages to secure a crucial playoff spot. Their batting, led by the explosive Smriti Mandhana and the dependable captain Harmanpreet Kaur, has been a key factor. Openers Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues have provided RCB with a solid foundation, while the middle order, featuring Richa Ghosh and Pooja Vastrakar, has the ability to accelerate the scoring rate. RCB's bowling attack, spearheaded by the wily Renuka Singh and the experienced pacer Jhulan Goswami, has the potential to dismantle any batting lineup. However, their bowling depth will be tested against a strong MI Cricket batting unit.
MI's Fight Back:
MI, the five-time champions of the men's IPL, have had a challenging journey in the inaugural WPL season. Injuries to key players and inconsistencies in their batting order have hampered their progress. However, the resilience that MI is known for has shone through in recent matches. They have clawed their way back into contention with some inspiring performances, showcasing their never-say-die attitude. Their batting, reliant on the experience of Mithali Raj and the explosive talent of Shafali Verma, needs to fire on all cylinders. The middle order, comprising Harmanpreet Kaur (playing for MI in this match) and the hard-hitting Yastika Bhatia, needs to contribute significantly. MI's bowling attack, boasting the swing of Pooja Vastrakar and the spin duo of Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad, is a force to be reckoned with. If they can click in unison, they can restrict the high-scoring RCB batting lineup.
Who Will Emerge Victorious?
This match promises to be a close contest. RCB's batting firepower gives them a slight edge, but MI's experience and never-give-up attitude cannot be overlooked. The team that handles pressure better and executes their skills flawlessly will emerge victorious.
Khelostar Prediction:
The Khelostar crystal ball predicts a close encounter! Both teams are evenly matched, and the outcome hinges on crucial moments and individual brilliance. RCB's batting depth might be the deciding factor, but MI's experience in high-pressure situations shouldn't be underestimated.
Join the Excitement!
Don't miss the WPL 2024 Eliminator between RCB vs MI! Share your predictions on the Khelostar website and join our vibrant online community to discuss the match. Will RCB book their place in the final, or will MI stage a dramatic comeback? Tune in and witness cricketing history unfold!
