The whole shit with the DA, the coroner, and the rest of a corrupt system is why protests had to happen. What more fucking evidence do you need for a manslaughter and murder 3 charge to stick besides

The system is rigged, it has been since our nation's founding, it will continue to be a shitshow without massive societal change, and this is why we can't have nice things.

You have a problem with the riots caused by pooice action (there are shit tons of undercover cops inciting violence in these crowds. If you don't believe and know that, you need to take your ass back to elementary school you literal turnip) but you don't have a problem with that coroner stating that cause of death was inconclusive. There were FOUR police officers there and did nothing to stop it. I could call my coroner relative to ask about it, but I don't need to because I know that this would show up quite clearly in the autopsy. I would also encourage you to think about the fact that if four white men (though one wasn't) killed a black man by someone kneeling on his windpipe, that should really constitute as a hate crime and not manslaughter/murder 3.

The system is trying to cling miserably to its former ideals and it. Won't. Work.

The seal has been broken and now blood demands justice. We have 400 years of making up to do for it, and not just to one ethnic group.

our governor called in the national guard 

one of the police officers (Derek Chauvi) involved in George Floyd’s murder has been arrested 

the DA said that they were so slow in the arrest of Derek Chauvi because they were worried the “charges wouldn’t stick” without as much evidence as they could gather. the head of the union for police officers here in Minnesota is a known white supremacist, as well as other known officials in higher places, so you do the math here. 

the media is continuing to make protestors look like the villains, to the point where my mom called me in hysterical tears asking if we’re okay because “riots are spreading to all suburbs of Minneapolis”. this isn’t true. I live in a suburb that’s a mere 5 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis, and no property damage has occurred here apart from the random graffiti being drawn on bus stops.  

we’re fine. protestors are not fine, however. tear gas and rubber bullets are getting shot into the crowd, injuring protestors, and my friend who was at the protests yesterday and today said that medics are refusing to offer medical assistance to anyone in the crowd 

there’s suspicion that a lot of the white rioters are white supremacists and certain cops that are trying to vilify the protestors and delegitimize the protestors, and the whole situation in general 

this is NOT an exhaustive list of what’s going on in Minneapolis, but it’s what I’m hearing is happening directly from people on the ground protesting.
