For the character ask thing: Sora Takenouchi :D

How I feel about this character: Sooora, my girl <3 I've always liked her, and even though I initially thought her development in 02 was stupid, it has since grown a lot on me and I've actually started relating to it quite a bit. I still think some of her development was a bit too much of trying to fit her into female stereotypes, but I can kind of relate to accepting those sides of you a bit more once you’re getting rid of a lot of internalized misogyny, and it’s not like they changed so much there’s nothing from her personality in Adventure left? Anyways, Sora is awesome, fight me.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: This should probably be my unpopular opinion, but Yamato. I think they work really well together and are super cute, and they understand each other and (the way they deal with) their feelings on a deeper level. I’m also convinced they break up at the end of/after high school, but it’s a mutual “we just aren’t in love anymore” break-up and after a few awkward weeks they’re really close friends and everyone is actually happier than before. The only way I can see them (back) together once they’re older is in a Sora/Yamato/Taichi combination, because seriously, they’re the ultimate OT3 and tri convinced me that you’ll never be able to truly seperate them.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Taichi, because no matter how much of an idiot he is, he cares a lot about Sora, and Sora cares just as much about him. Also, the fact that he can be such an idiot makes her smile when she really needs it just as often as it really annoys her. I also think she becomes really close friends with Jou once she finished school and starts to understand what he was always on about when he was stressing out 24/7, but somehow they have the ability to always calm the other one down (more often than not over some wine). And I really love the idea of her and Jun talking once at one of Yamato’s concerts, once Jun is over her weird obsession with Yamato, and hitting it off with each other right away.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I either headcanon her as straight and probably polyamorous or as aromantic. (Both would be really interesting to explore with her crest, too, because neither is the right kind of love, according to society, and coming to terms with herself and realizing that her love is just as valid as anything else could be so good, idk.)

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we’d seen her more with the 02 kids, especially with Daisuke, because to this day I think this would have been so much fun, and I feel so betrayed. I also wish Daisuke would have gotten the crest of love, but that’s a completely different story. Sora would be one of the most patient ones with him and he would probably learn a lot from her, but he’d also be one of the few people who can easily bring out a less sensible side of her, if that makes sense?

Btw, I’ve also started a new Youtube Playlist for Ettushipping - Seto, Mai, et Jou. Mostly it hops back and forth between Polarshipping and “Puppyshipping” aka Violetshipping, aka Parallelshipping (though I’m trying to weed out the ones including abusive imagery), but I discovered this 2011 Britney Spears song (please don’t hate me/it just yet), which I recall hearing once, but never again til it just came up in an ultra rare Arrogantshipping amv, & another that was somehow only about The Harpie Lady Sisters. Honda. He was the Beautification Club chair, after all, he has a knack for all things creative. He’s particularly good at putting together ‘care packages’ with pretty decoration and stupid fake (probably edible) straw to pack things together with. Usually Honda, except when Joey has shifts at work (which are very early starts, because training to be a Firefighter is hard work). Honda is an early-bird generally, and has no shame in shaking Joey awake for breakfast, even when Jo’s hungover.

Honda. Absolutely Honda. Joey is so embarrassed by it but will begrudgingly pass him tissues and pat his shoulder comfortingly.

Digimon Adventure AMV [Preview] ~ Sora Takenouchi Song: “Ashita wa Motto” / “Tomorrow I’ll Be” Singer/Artist: Mizutani Yuuko (Sora’s Adventure Japanese voice actress) {Note: Yuuko Mizutani passed away in 2016. This AMV, with Mizutani’s original performances highly in mind, was originally finished around September 2019, but I had been outlining it ever since before Mizutani’s passing; with that in mind, this AMV is also a tribute to Yuuko Mizutani[+’s Sora].} See links above for lyrics/translation.
