Personally, I don't have a problem with bipedal pokemon in and of themselves, but I miss seeing more pokemon that look like animals instead of people! Some of these newer designs feel more like Digimon or Megaman or like they've just walked in from other games. I don't want to sound like a Genwunner, because Lurantis (one of my faves) is bipedal. It's not that I think we need less bipedal pogies, but I think we need more quadrupedals.
there’s so much i need to ask you guys i don’t even know where to start

HOW DID I NOT FIND OUT ABOUT WALKING WAKE AND IRON LEAVES UNTIL NOW 😭
A lot of guys on Reddit are angry about how Walking Wake looks but I CANNOT HELP IT I LOVE HIM 😭
He's not the big fluffy guy we were promised in the Scarlet Book, but I can easily see him evolving into Suicune. Plus I love the little orange spots on his back?
Iron Leaves just looks like it would make all kinds of cute beeps and blinks when it's happy 😭
Tbh I feel like the Paradox Pokemon and the cursed relics are the animal mons I've been missing.

I don’t know if it’s showing up for y’all on my other Pokémonstars post ‘cause it’s getting cut off for me but. Anzu has Delibird (to help her with work) and a Chansey (to keep her alive when she does too much work)
ANYWAYS HERE’S SOME MORE ON A SEPARATE POST ‘cause the other one’s getting much longer
Rinne has a Talonflame, Hiiro caught it as a Fletchling for him when they were kids and it’s the only Pokémon he brought with him from home
Eichi and Tatsumi each have Audinos as support Pokémon for their health; Tatsumi’s is shiny and he likes saying that it looks like a mini Mayoi
I think it’s adorable when people put food Pokémon in Niki’s teams but I’d be so scared of him accidentally eating them when he’s super hungry— I mean I guess they can feed him when he’s hungry but I think he’d also have a Chansey ‘cause of the egg
Tsukasa’s Cherrim is named Blossom and he makes a point of saying it in English
Rei and Koga both have Toxtricities but Koga’s is the amped up one while Rei’s is lowkey
I was gonna say each of the Ra*bits have a different Oricorio but none of them really fit, but Mitsuru would definitely have the Pom Pom one
Subaru Gimmighoul. That’s a given. He also has a Dottler ‘cause shiny lights while Makoto has a Charjabug (to charge his electronics but also it evolving into a Vikavolt would be cool)
I can’t decide if it would be funnier for Wataru or Kanata to have a Wailord ‘cause on the one hand it’s kinda like a blimp and Wataru would have it just for the sheer ridiculousness of it, but on the other hand it’d be a Pokémon that Kanata would actually have; he’d be like “this one’s actually quite small for its species~” and it’s still the size of a building.
Eichi has an Empoleon (emperor penguin and all that) while Hokuto has a Prinplup named Polaris (prince penguin) and they’re training to be stronger out of spite
Ritsu Komala. Yeah.
@/that-fandom-lurker brought up that Arashi would absolutely have a Sylveon and my addition is that Izumi would have a Glaceon (they’re besties)
Mika would have conventionally “ugly” Pokémon but love them all the same, like he’d have a Trubbish

Just spitballing some random pokethoughts...
Eternatus and the Darkest Day happened in Galar 3,000 year ago, and at the same time AZ made the Ultimate Weapon in Kalos, again 3,000 years ago.
And the two events lead to Devon co. studying Mega Evolution to develop Infinity Energy, and Macro Cosmos studying Dynamax and Power Spots to develop Rose's power plant. "Eternal" and "Infinite."
And the Eternatus power plant logo strongly resembles the new logo in the Z-A trailer.
And in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, the Infinity Energy was ultimately used to save the day by teleporting the Delta meteor into another universe. getting Mega Rayquaza to destroy the Delta meteor. And Eternatus fell to Earth on a meteorite (20,000 years ago).
Delta(Δ) being the mathematical variable for "Change," and obviously being a play on the Greek letter motif(ΩA). And of course Alpha and Omega as a pair are best known as the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet(and the biblical "Beginning and the End")
So, go figure, ΩA is a synonym with ZA, so the title ...Z-A can be understood as "(from)The End to The Beginning," the reverse reading of A-Z as "A to Z."
There are two kings who helped defeat Eternatus who apparently at some point shared a bloodline? (Did their descendents marry later, or were the two kings already related?) Tragically their bloodline produced the brothers Shieldbert and Swordward.
AZ was a former king of Kalos and is succeeded by a younger brother from whom Lysander is descended.
King Louis XIV was dubbed "le Roi Soleil":"the Sun King" and famously obsessed over sun motifs. His Palace of Versailles is the basis of the Parfum Palace in Kalos. The Parfum Palace was built by either AZ or one of his descendents.
The Parfum Palace garden has statues of Zekrom and Reshiram
Zekrom and Reshiram were split in two from their original united form by the Hero of Truth and the Hero of Ideals, forming Unova in the process.
The Twin Heroes built the Relic Castle in what is now the Resort Desert. The Relic Castle appears to have been built "at least 2,500 years ago".
Possibly also built the Abyssal Ruins? One castle dedicated to the sun and the desert, one to the dark and the watery depths?
The Relic Castle enshrines Volcorona, "The Sun Pokemon" said to have appeared at a time when ash blacked out the sky and saved people by acting as a replacement for the sun.
Eternatus' Darkest Day involved summoning dark clouds to black out the sky.
Alder, Champion of Unova, has a Volcorona as his signature pokemon, a backstory involving losing a pokemon and wandering the region in his grief, kind of like AZ, sans the immortality.
Alder also has a flaming mane-like hair not too dissimilar to Lysandre's.
Alder is the basis of an unspecified character design in Legends Arceus who appears to be a third, perhaps seminal or unifying factor in the Maxi/Archie ancestors' Diamond and Pearl clans. A Platinum clan? The Sinnoh people? Or just a unifier, a peace maker, a mentor, or a shared ancestor?
Cogita and Volo as members of the Sinnoh people have fixations on lore keeping/seeking. Something Cynthia sort of inherits
Cynthia is from Celestic Town in Sinnoh, where Drasna said she's from originally
Zinnia is a Dragon trainer and "lorekeeper" in ORAS
Celestic Town in DPPt has a shrine that uses the same model as the one in Ilex Forest for Celebi in HGSS
Terapagos is supposed to have an ability to alter or shift timelines, relating to the presence of the Paradox Pokemon
But Black City and White Forest also seem to exist as a kind of paradox around polar opposite futurism and primitivism

Its time for me to make my First Poke Thought. And that is The best Pika Clones in the series are Plusle and Minun, because they used the most of the 3rd Gens gimmicks, and showed them off. IE: Double Battles, Abilities, and the moves that come with double battles(Such as Helping Hand.)
Its really interesting because most of the new Pika Clones represent something new in the generation. Pichu was showing off Baby Pokemon from Breeding Plusle and Minun see above. Pachirisu had the signs of WiFi on it, and that was introduced in Gen 4(checking Pachirisus tail for what I mean) Emolga was the first dual typed Pikachu Clone, but that's all it really represents. Dedenne on the other hand, like Emolga, is a Pikachu Clone, however, represents the Fairy Type! It was the first new type since Gen 2! Togedemaru is a weird spot since there was technically two other Pokemon that could fit the 'Pikachu Gimmick' of Gen 8, so it was spread thin. It does get to be a totem Pokemon which is a plus to a gimmick but, Alolan Raichu and Mimikyu do have better ones, even if they aren't fully fledged clones(Raichu using the Regional Form Gimmick and Mimikyu being a Not Electric Not Pikachu Creature) Morepeko is fully where there isn't really a new gimmick to try to tie with the generation. There is an argument for it being the 'Form Change' Pikachu gimmick, but otherwise doesn't represent anything new! I wish it got a Gigantamax Form, then it would've been perfect!
So yeah, Plusle and Minun are in my opinion the best Pika Clones! But I'm curious to what you guys think!

The more I think about it, gen 4 which has DPPt and HGSS were hands down my favorite generation of Pokémon. I thoroughly enjoyed BW and BW2 as well so I guess you could say the DS games were my favorite

Pokethought
It has occurred to me that the new starter Decidueye is the perfect example of what would happen if Will and Nico could have a child. I mean, look at it! It’s an archer but it’s also a ghost type. Don’t tell me it isn’t so!

So long-time followers of my blog will know that whether or not anime characters have nipples and/or eyebrows is a bit of a fascinating subject for me. (In a totally SFW way, for the record.)
I’m playing Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and I had forgotten this horrible discovery.
Nuzleaf has nipples.
Yes, that is canon art. And if that’s not proof enough, here’s a screenshot from the anime:
Why.

character meme: Uther from Merlin >:3c
How I feel about this character
Jfc it’s been ages since I finished Merlin with you! Truth be told I barely remember Uther, except for this pic
All the people I ship romantically with this character
… no. No. NO. Well, except for that troll lady in that one episode.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Honestly why are you making me answer questions about him you are supposed to be my friend
My unpopular opinion about this character
Is it possible to have unpopular opinions about Uther? No ones likes him, and it’s been like 5 years since merlin stopped airing
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I wish he had played nintendo pets on his ds every episode

More pokethoughts: While actually new games are always the best, if we’re doing remakes, Gen 1 is really all I want. HGSS are still phenomenal games, and utilize just about every worthwhile mechanic introduced (and a few that haven’t been brought back). ORAS is like four years old? Gen 7 barely introduced anything that those games don’t utilize. Gen 4? Other than a nostalgia trip for folks who played this game first, why? Like HGSS there isn’t much introduced after this game that hugely changed how the games play. Fairy type is the biggest perennial change I can think of. And I personally think Sinnoh is one of the more frustrating worlds of the entire franchise*.
I know Red/Blue cast this very annoying shadow over the entire franchise, but I honestly haven’t played a game set in Kanto** in god knows how long. Seeing it rendered as a modern pokemon game is thrilling to me, probably enough to actually buy a damn switch.
*I will admit that the biggest frustration by far with Gen 4 is the sheer number of HMs, so having the thing from Gen 7 would actually really streamline the game. Still, I really don’t have enough nostalgia to be genuinely excited about returning to Sinnoh. All the great stuff introduced in that game has lived on in subsequent generations
**yeah I know you go to Kanto in HGSS, you know what I mean

I'm loving randomly running into theses new pokemon. A dung beetle pokemon 😂. I couldn't believe it when I saw this little bug rolling in the background of my battle.
