“I’ll help you if it comes to that.” Yuri assured her, throwing his rod out, having very clear doubts about catching a Pokemon. He still didn’t like the thought of adding members into his team ever since his past team bailed on him, except for Kangaskhan. It was too heavy for the boat, so he left it in the Pokeball, but Eevee (Vaporeon, I’m still not fucking sure), was sleeping next to the Arcanine, enjoying the nice weather and quiet time.

“There is, but cut dat thought, it ain’t gonna work out.” He told her, offering her. “Tis always good ta try summink new. And even if it ain’t ya type, ya can always put it in a box. Tryin’ never hurts.” He patted her on the head, his eyes lighting up at an idea: “Ya know. If fishin’ ain’t ya thing, how bout we make a deal? I catch a water type fer ya. Ye catch a fire type fer me. An we trade. Does that sound good? Tis like we have summink of the other wit us.” He seemed to really like that idea. Truth be told, Drake was never quite able to warm up to fire types, their impulsive and hotheaded natures were a little much for him, but since he met Putri, he really wanted to give them a new chance. He felt like he might have misjudged them. He also knew just the right Pokemon to get Putri.

Eagle’s eye twitched, clearly irritated. “I meant in te water. Wingull’s ain’t divin’ in te ocean any time soon.” He got his rod out. groaning loudly and stomping over to her with an angry: “FiNE!” throwing the rod out with such anger that it almost reached the other end of the river, glaring at his bait as it sinks slowly down. He really didn’t want to be here, but what could he say? He was invited. It was a good opportunity to check up on Yuri and to see if he was wrong with giving him a chance. Maybe he will actually catch something, though he grumpled: “I have Aerodactyl, Resladero ‘n Skarmory, I ain’t havin’ a rock problem.” why was gyarados a flying type anyway? That was bullshit. “I don’t uh- I don’t think so, heh heh. I really like water types, but I don’t think they um....really dig me. Maybe it’s the hair or something.” She smiled, not seeming too upset about the fact that not all Pokemon  liked her. “But uh- a water type would really be useful! For...for....uhm.....balancing! Yeah, for balancing. So Torterra doesn’t need to stay in and earthquake, you know?” She still hadn’t revealed that she was the champion of this region, but she didn’t really....deem it necessary. It never really came up in conversation. She would tell Aditi eventually. She just didn’t want to tell them yet out of fear that they would challenge her immediately and then just see her as an obstacle to overcome. She smiled, looking back at her magnificent Torterrar, which seemed very content lying there and offering itself as a backlean. It’s tree was well kept and has grown high and the grass is the greenest green there could be. It’s clearly well loved. “Y-Yeah, it is. I uh- I had it since I was super little! The uh- the scientist....the-....the professor! The professor felt bad for me and gave me the- uh- the choice. The choice between some different Pokemon. And- I don’t know. I just saw Turtwig and it kinda was love at first sight, you know? I think he thought I wouldn’t uh- make it much longer, so he wanted to give me some...happiness, y’know? And I was happy. I could’ve chosen Charmander and flown around on a- uh, whats its name...char- charizard? Yeah, thats it. But, you know, I’m in no rush. it’s very, uh- comfortable to slowly ride on your partner and just-....enjoy life. Just....to know that you have time to just...walk slowly and take a look around. See all those little details. It’s training in its own way. Training is only really effective if the breaks are just as relaxing....”
