Genuinely love how the Bionicle fandom saw the Tahu minifig and went through all 5 stages of grief in under 2 hours and ending up landing on a new stage being unironic joy for this googly lad

New PogTahu headcanon:

The contest between Artakha and Karzahni to see who would get the Mask of Creation was the building of the Toa Mata.

The Tahu we all know and love was Artakha's winning attempt.

PogTahu was Karzahni's.

Lariska: Into The Lariska-verse

Inspired by this post, I decided to make Skrunkly/Pogtahu versions of a few different Lariska designs from around here. I don't know that I did a super great job of emulating the style, but still.

From left to right, we have:

-My Lariska. A more refined and streamlined version of my prior moc of her. Technically still a WIP, but at least I know what I'm going for enough to do this.

-@beesgav 's Lariska. Kinda based off my original version of the moc, but they've taken it in their own direction in some ways, particularly with the chestplate area.

-@generalbioniclefriend 's Lariska. This one was an interesting experience trying to get the lanky vibes right, but I think for the most part it paid off.

-@kanohivolitakk 's Lariska. Technically the one I started with, but my first attempt (seen in the last render here) wound up being too big to fit in with the others, so I started over fresh to try to properly capture her smolness. Also, she's a different color for standard teal, but it's not easy to tell them apart with the way the render does it ^^;

So yeah, this was a fun adventure, and a nice way to explore some different takes on our resident dagger lizardkitty.

Subject: Lego

1. POGtahu makes me go through every possible human emotion all at once. 2. "You should've just consoomed harder" is not a good defense of Bionicle G2 or why it flopped. 3. Ninjago has far overstayed it's welcome. 4. The lego games lost something once they introduced voice acting. 5. I think they should try their hand at another mecha line like exo-force cause exo force was awesome and had some really creatively designed sets to it.

Okay now that the memes seem to be dying down;

If Tahuwu/Pogtahu had the capacity to move his legs, I'd enjoy the design immensely more. As is, I really do hate it. There's 3D printer plans to give those 2001 limbs knees and elbows that move for crissakes. Is it so hard to put together system pieces that have at least separate legs?

No lie, the Tahu minifig has me cackling 😂 Like…they listened! Lego listened, this is what we asked for. But they made him googly eyed with a pog face because we’re in a monkey’s paw scenario apparently 😂😂😂

For those in the dark, Lego just revealed a 90th anniversary set filled with a rainbow of bricks and included are instructions on how to use them to build a wide variety of sets that are references to old classics and one of them is Bionicle! And it looks like this 😂

Honestly the more I look at it, the more I think I’m legitimately happy about it. Like, yeah Tahu looks goofy af but so does everything in this set, that’s the point. Everything has googly eyes, it’s a nonspecific parts bin and they’re showing what you can make from it. I think it’s fun 😄 And they legitimately referenced and honored Bionicle!

So yeah we could interpret this as the monkey’s paw of our pleas curling into a middle finger, but honestly I’m gonna take it in good humor

You know what the best thing about PogTahu has been for me? How much my girlfriend absolutely adores the little guy.

I showed her the set and the fandom's reaction to it and she just thinks it's the best thing ever. This is a woman who only knows about BIONICLE because of my own ramblings about it and yet she was gushing about this googly eyed little boy to our D&D group last week about how much she loves him. It's been great.
