I can't tell y'all how humbled I am in holding these stories, that kindred medicine becomes a capsule for stories that transform (we should talk more about this soon...). ⠀ ⠀ this week's episode, there is no separation, witnesses a sisterfriend I am so honored to know, verona spence-adofo of @ancestralvoices -- we recorded twice. each guest chooses the story they share with no prompting or coaching from me. it's a brave thing to do, and also incredibly vulnerable. the first time, verona shared a story about the journey of using her voice. I love how spirit moves tho. within 48 hours she contacted me and said, that wasn't the story really meant for me to share. DEEP RESPECT y'all. so we went at it again -- this time dropping in deeper to a personal story of ancestral connection with a family member she has never met. and true to her essence and life's work she brought gifts.⠀ ⠀ verona and her husband dalian adofo are educators, documentarians, and truth pursuers. they've shared two copies of their first documentary 'ancestral voices: esoteric african knowledge' with me for the kindred medicine family. if you've been on the journey of remembering and reclaiming, this documentary is a beautiful teacher to know.
