I know I feel weird about calling Tanger picks’ dad but that is complicated by the fact that he’s so early twenties and baby that he exudes youngest sibling energy. Not youngest child. Nobody there is his dad. Everyone there is his older brother and they are all picking on him.

Thoughts/Review: Beyblade Burst ChouZ episode 41 (Poor, poor Hearts)

I have been WAITING for this episode ^^ ...That doesn’t mean elements of it didn’t hurt. (I’m pretty sure Babby!Hearts’ expression matched mine when I saw the preview for this ep) Warning, this one is a tad longer than my usual, and may or may not be a bit more rambly. (This is a bit late because I went back to uni this week, plus it took longer to write)

Spoilers ahead, so under the cut we go~

So this episode was as good as I hoped it would be--it was feelsy, gave us backstory on Phi and Hearts, and provided us with a nice hook for the remainder of the season, as well as giving Aiga some more motivation to fight Hearts.

Fun little moment at the start: What looked like a recap part was just Hearts and Evel rewatching Hearts’s fight against Aiga. What I loved about it was the whole realisation from the audience, “wait a second, where’s the Aiga-narration. Why is this recapping a battle from a couple episodes ago.”...and cut to Evel and Hearts watching it. Just something I liked personally (although the light-hearted start to the episode was a lie ;_;).

Also this moment during training was good ^^ When a character visualises their desired opponents, you know things are getting serious.

So we get the backstory pretty early on in the episode, and let me just say, I have been trying to put together all the pieces of the puzzle and I’m still lost. The flashback here indicates that Phi and Hearts have been on Earth since they were children...which conflicts entirely with the “backstory” we got from Phi in episode 13 (yes, way back then). In that episode it was implied Phi had only recently landed on Earth by way of meteor, so that got the fandom scratching their heads. But this episode indicated Phi and Hearts have been on Earth since they were children, so now I’m just ????. Unless the fact that they were apparently left to their own devices in the Dead Gran was supposed to indicate that there was something odd about them, like the fact they didn’t originally come from Earth. But that would make me question how Phi and Hearts’ “dad” found them... This episode answered like 50 questions but created 500 more :|. 

Also revealed in this flashback is the confirmation that Phi was always an asshole to his brother. See, we knew there was something up, since the bros were never seen together, and Kyle not knowing who Phi was during the Bey Queen arc made it clear  Hearts had not even entertained the idea of letting Kyle know about Phi. And I understand sibling teasing/rivalry (being an older sis myself), but that was just plain cruel. You could tell that Hearts was being playful and just trying to enjoying himself during that football match, while Phi was playing for keeps, as it were. 

(On a side note, whoever did the voice for Younger!Hearts did a really good job in making it clear babby Hearts was adorable and innocent, nothing like his damaged older self :/)

We also get the moment Phi and Hearts get their beys in this flashback, which if the scene with the twins playing football together didn’t tell you Phi is an asshole, this next scene will.

See that face? Aside from it being a face I never want to see on a young child, that face came because all Hearts did was pick a bey first, and Phi being the bully that he is demanded Hearts hand Hades over. Even after the butler intervenes and points out that there is in fact another bey (Phoenix) there, you could see Hearts in the background, still holding onto Hades like he was scared he was gonna lose it. (Ie Phi is a petty POS)

On a side note, did anyone else think that Hades was more shiny here? (I think this was another visual cue that the twins would try to go for Hades over Phoenix). Also why didn’t “dad” just put the beys in separate boxes and tell butler to give the appropriate box to its kid :v Then we would have avoided this mess. 

Cut to Hearts after having Burst the infinity beys, when Phi finally enters. There’s something about Hearts’ frightened(?) expression that lets you know the pain from their childhood years has not gone away. Made even better when Phi announces that 1) he came to play and 2) came back to “punish” Hearts for taking away Phi’s “toy” (Aiga).

So after this bit, we randomly cut over to Beigoma, where we see that Aiga is understandably not handling the whole Phi-breaking-Achilles thing well. Remember, before this, he had been so scared that something like that would happen (since it happened to Laban), it partially fuelled his succumbing to impure/false resonance. So for it to actually happen will have still been a blow. Fubuki even mentions it’s trauma for him, hence he’s understandably having nightmares about it happening again. Just because he has ChouZ Achilles doesn’t mean his previous fear about beys breaking will go away. It’s a big deal, y’know? Of course, Naru then interrupts, mentioning something about “bad news”(?), and that’s when we get whisked off to the gym to watch Phi vs Hearts. Oh boy. 

The battle commences, with the goal being one Burst Finish. And as it progresses, with draws being common, we see a strange thing happen: Whatever connection Hearts had with Hades, is beginning to weaken. Why? Well...

That might be the cause of it. See, Phoenix is draining Hades’ energy--and thereby, draining the resonance Hades had with Hearts. Hearts even notices he doesn’t feel the resonance pains anymore at one point. 

Also, interestingly, while Hearts goes into resonance in each battle (like Aiga did when he was having issues with his resonance), Phi only uses resonance the once--in the final battle. And I guess the reason he did that was to completely overwhelm his brother, since this happened when he used his final special move:

Ow. This wasn’t the end of the pain train for Hearts this episode, by the way, either, since Evel goes and betrays him to team up with Phi after this (I talk about why that’s a big deal here, since this post is long enough as it is). It’s understandable that the fandom kinda melted after this episode aired.

Aiga reacts to Hades breaking since, y’know, “been there done that got a new Beyblade in the process” thing. And understandably he’s pissed at Phi again. Oh boy.

Also that thing up there is Dead Phoenix’s avatar, from the looks of things. Nice...

Overall: Really good ep, very painful, sets up Phi as the big bad, and gave us reasons to hug Hearts.

Next week is apparently a training filler ep, but I feel like we kinda need it after this week ;_;

XII. Energizer (Explicit)

Han woke Bongbong and Leni up with a car technician with him. It was 5am already when he came back.

"Kuya Han!" Leni exclaimed. "What took you so long?" Bongbong asked. "Pasensya na po sir, medyo malayo layo po kase nilakad ko papunta doon sa mga bahayan tapos madilim pa yung mga daanan." He explained.

Bongbong was raging in anger. "Relax. At least nakahingi si kuya Han ng tulong." Leni chilled him down.

The engine worked again. Bongbong paid the technician and Han immediately proceeded on driving them to their destination which is already just about an hour and a half away.

They arrived at the hotel quarter to eight in the morning. His meeting was scheduled 4PM at the conference room of the place. Bongbong only reserved a single room with a king size bed for the two of them.

He laid down on the bed. Leni dropped her things for a while and laid down on the couch to nap.

Bakit ka nandiyan?" He asked. "Inaantok na ako." She replied with her struggling eyes. "Baka may kama?" He tapped the space beside him but she seemed to ignore him and continued napping.

He rolled his eyes and grunted. He stood up and carried her waking her up.

"Hoy!" She exclaimed as he carried her. "Wag mong sayangin yung silbi ng kama." She squirmed as she felt embarrassed being carried by him.

He was staggered by her squirming, he dropped her to the bed and accidentally falling on top of her due to her clumsy actions.

"Uy!!!" Her voice faded as she realized how his arms were around her and their faces and lips were just an inch away from each other. He was stunned by how they fell close to each other. He gazed at her surprised.

Her mind felt blank for a moment as he felt torn whether to kiss her or not.

They both felt distracted with the fact that they wanted to kiss each other but they didn't feel any lust in their nerves — hard to explain what it was but one thing for sure is it is more than just the heats of their body.

Leni closed her slightly open mouth and gulped. Bongbong finally made up his mind.

"Dito ka sa kama matulog, naintindihan mo?" He pulled himself back and took off his suit and folded it. She carefully sat down from lying down. "Okay..."

He looked at her for a few seconds. "Kailangan mong magpahinga. Matulog ka na." He commanded with a cold face trying to conceal his sincerity.

Leni fell into a deep sleep and woke up few minutes before Bongbong's meeting was over. She took a bath as she expected him to demand something again from her that evening. She blow dried her hair with the blower and fixed herself.

She came out of the bathroom and saw Bongbong slouching at the couch looking so tired.

"Kamusta yung meeting mo?" She asked to start a conversation. He looked at her and didn't utter any word.

Grabeng pagod— what the hell? Bakit ang ganda niya? Napakarefreshing sa paningin.

She felt conscious as he stared at her without any word. "May dumi ba ako sa muka?" She asked. "Halika dito." He tapped the space on his side.

He smirked at her and grabbed her jaws to place a deep kiss on her lips. She knew it was the beginning of the long night. She reciprocated his kiss and took a grip on his shoulder to kiss him harder.

He continued kissing her and began to push her angling her back with the couch, pushing and pressing her down making her sink into his kisses. He searched for her hand and pinned it up.

"Energize me." She looked at him as he spoke with his deep voice. She grabbed his nape and kissed him hard.

He slightly lifted her legs and rested it on the level of his pelvis as he kissed her harder. His hands caressed her stomach and cupped the arcs of her waists. His kisses began to move down to her cheeks, down to her jawlines and neck, down to her shoulders. She stroked his hair as she endured the kisses he delivered to her body.

He stopped kissing her shoulders and moved his face up to her. "Let's get into our business." He uttered. She didn't know what he meant but she watched him do what he was planning to do.

He went down to her pelvis and had his face stay in the middle of her legs. He slide her panties to the side revealing her core next to his face. Her fresh and sweet scent lingered on his senses. "Kiss me harder." He commanded her. Leni was about to kiss him until she gasped loudly upon his first thrust.

She was caught in surprise by his sudden deep thrust without even giving her a warning or signal.

He clutched her face with his hand and resumed kissing her but she was struggling to protract her focus in kissing him as he was ramming her hardly and it was distracting her — she couldn't stop panting.

He gently slapped her face as she failed to follow his instruction. "Sinabi ko bang tumigil ka sa paghalik?" He scolded her, she nodded struggling. She held his head to press his lips harder to halter her moaning and heavy breaths.

"We'll leave tomorrow at nine. Siguraduhin mong magigising ka ng maaga." He reminded her. "Okay." She replied, still recovering from the roughness they just had.

"I might want a morning rapture too." He smirked at her. "Kakatapos lang natin tapos may request agad para bukas? Laging tag-init sa'yo noh?" She replied as she felt weary.

"Matibay 'to e. Hindi napapagod." He pointed at his groin. She rolled her eyes and focused on regaining her energy.

"Nat. Kamusta ka diyan?" Leni dialed up her sister as they drove home.

Bongbong overheard their conversation and was fascinated by her sincere care for her little sister. He couldn't cope very much as he never had a younger sibling and he wasn't very close to her older sister, Imee, who's also the COO and wife of the CEO of Rocos Insurances.

"Mag-ingat ka diyan, uuwi na ako. Love you!" She hung up the line and ended the call.

"Sino yon?" He asked. "Po? Ah. Kapatid ko po, pinabantayan ko lang po sa kapit bahay namin, mag-isa lang kase yun." She replied.

After a week, gossips and rumors about Rody's attempt to get back with Leni spread around the office. It was inevitable for Bongbong not to hear about it.

He was at his office's spare room when he saw Leni's notebook at the table.

Naiwan niya yata 'to ha.

He guessed. He checked on the notebook to make sure it was hers as it was unfamiliar to him.

A photo fell down as he opened its pages. He picked it up and found himself smiling as he stared at the photo of her riding a bump car — he found it extremely cute.

Leni unexpectedly entered the office. He hid the photo in his pocket and placed back the notebook in the table.

"Uhh... hi." She greeted. He pulled out a cold and frustrated gesture as he went out of the spare room and sat down on his seat.

"Ba't ka nandito?" He asked. She came to explain about the rumors going around as she knew he wouldn't be pleased to hear about it, he seemed to be in a bad mood — she thought it wasn't the right time.

"Uh... Balik nalang po siguro ako mamaya..." She replied and turned back heading to the door.

"Totoo ba?!" He asked. She turned back to him. "Totoo ba na sinusuyo ka ni Rodrigo? Kayo na ba ulit? Sagot!" He asked a bit scared to hear what he didn't want to hear.

"Opo." She confessed but he didn't know which of his questions did she answer.

He was staggered for a moment. He felt a sudden sting on his chest. "Kayo na ulit?" He continued interrogating her.

Nagkabalikan na sila? Tangína.

He hypothesized. He wanted to deny to himself that it would bother him but he also tried to shrug it off.

"Hindi po ako pumayag." She replied surprising him. "What?" He didn't see it coming.

"Hindi po kami nagkabalikan, hindi ako pumayag." She clarified.

Thank goodness.

"Good." He uttered trying to conceal his gratefulness. Little did he know that she was sensing it.

"Meron pa akong commitment sainyo kaya... Ayun." She uttered.

He looked at her. At that very moment, he wanted to grab and hug her tightly. Feel her presence and feel his privilege of having her but then he didn't want to look so grateful. He pretended he was just cool about it as if it's not a thing.

"Buti alam mo." He replied and went back on his duty.

She smiled before she left his office. He peeked out and made sure she was away before he smiled in relief.

He pulled out her photo from his pocket and stared at it for a while making him smile.

Ang cute niya. I wanna take care of this little bean.

He uttered in his mind as he treasured her photo.

Later that day, he felt extremely exhausted. He felt like his limbs would give up anytime. He needed some rest as he seemed tired and weak recently. He allowed Leni to take a break from their planned sessions as he knew he wasn't feeling well.
