Sometimes I think the meme that PMoo fans can't read is overblown and then I realise I mostly hang around theorists lmao

IT'S SO FUCKING BAD.

Like, most PM fans can at least like, analyze a text at a surface level. Most of them can understand that Ruina is about abuse and not like, how much it rocks to be a human or whatever. But the SECOND you put something that isn't prose in front of them, they just stop. Like there's a limit for how many words in a row they can read without it being a story and PM games, especially the latter two, just train you to have a really low limit despite there being a ton of passives that, if you just spend your time reading them, take a moment to understand the fight, the game is piss easy. I fucking steamrolled nearly the entire game, I only got stuck at The Red Mist, Xiao, Little Red, and Mountain of Dead Bodies. I had to try Judgment Bird a few times, but did it without any help. And I used a guide for the Reverb Ensemble but that's just because page locking was an annoying mechanic to build around when it wasn't something I had to think about previously and also the menuing in Ruina kinda sucks ass.

But beyond those very specific hurdles? Every fight was beaten in a single try. I did not even know what emotion coins were until I beat the game, yes the difficulty spike is vertical but the jump is from babies mode to toddlers mode.

Read the damn passives. Read the damn poll options. This has been my rant for the evening.
