Maldives is facing backlash from Indians after several flights and hotel bookings were cancelled in reply to the Maldivian Minister's post against India and PM Modi. The disparaging and unsavory references to PM Modi's Lakshadweep visit were not taken lightly by Indians as well as people from all across the world.
The tweet from youth ministry Malsha Shareef, Mariyam Shiuna, and Abdulla Mahzoom got them suspended and distanced from the Maldivian government.
Now, Blue Star Air Travel Services Director Madhav Oza has come forward and has spoken about the India-Maldives ongoing controversy. “If we look at the overall picture then India-Maldives connections have improved over the last few years..," Mr Oza said.
While talking to a leading media agency, Mr. Oza said, “There are eight direct flights from all over India to Maldives...Almost 1,200-1,300 passengers fly to Maldives each day...There is a possibility of 20-30% cancellations now…,"
The ongoing spat has also been condemned by the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) after the ministers gave derogatory remarks on PM Modi's post on Lakshadweep.
“The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) strongly condemns the derogatory comments made by some Deputy Ministers on social media platforms, directed towards the Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi as well as the people of India," the official statement read.
“India is one of our closest neighbors and allies. India has always been a first responder to various crises throughout our history and we are immensely grateful to the close relationship that the Government as well as the people of India have maintained with us," it added.
The statement also highlighted the contribution of India to the Tourism Industry of Maldives which has greatly assisted its recovery efforts during COVID-19.

"PM Narendra Modi Is Trying To…": Mohammed Shami's Big Remark On Tourism Amid Maldives Row
India’s star pacer Mohammed Shami has spoken on the ongoing Maldives issue and expressed his support for Indian tourism and encouraged fellow citizens to explore the beauty of the Indian beaches. This comes amid the row over a remark made by a Maldives minister, leaders and other public figures after PM Narendra Modi visited the union territory of Lakshadweep. “We should promote our tourism. No matter which way the country moves forward, it is good for everyone. PM is trying to make our country move forward so we should also support it,” Shami told ANI.
Apart from the Indian speedster, many sportspersons came out to criticize the ‘racist’ remarks against India by public figures in the Maldives and encouraged fellow citizens to explore the beauty of the Indian beaches.
After their historic win in South Africa in Cape Town, India will face England in the five-match Test series on January 25 next year with the first Test in Hyderabad. The fifth and final Test will be held in Dharamshala and the series will conclude on March 11.
Shami said he is not thinking of adopting new techniques for the tour and he will try his best to “fulfill the responsibilities” presented to him.
“I am not thinking of anything new for this tour. I always thought that if I am fit then my performance will be amazing in the match. I try my best to fulfill the responsibilities given to me. The plus point is that these are our home conditions, and this helps you. It is very important that you reach the ground with a good mindset and fitness. Earlier people used to think that India is a batting-dominating team but now after 4 to 6 months, everyone has come to know that India is also a bowling team,” he added.
England Men’s selection panel last year named a 16-player squad for the five-Test series against India in January next year, featuring four spinners and three uncapped players while India is yet to name the squad for the series.

Virender Sehwag, along with other cricket stars, fucked over Maldives Row.
Indians are furious about the contentious remarks made by well-known people in the Maldives about India. Prominent cricket players such as Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, and others have denounced the 'racist' comments directed at India and urged their fellow countrymen to discover the splendour of India's beaches.
Reactions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the union territory of Lakshadweep have been a source of controversy due to disparaging and "anti-Indian" statements made by Maldivian politicians, leaders, and other public figures.
Former opener for India Virender Sehwag responded sharply to the unjustified remarks made about PM Modi and India.
Sehwag penned on X, There are a ton of undiscovered locations in Bharat that have a ton of promise with the right infrastructure, whether they be the stunning beaches of Udupi, Paradise Beach in Pondi, Neil and Havelock in the Andaman Islands, or many more stunning beaches across our nation.
Bharat is renowned for turning all Aapda into Avsar, and the Maldivian ministers' jab at our nation and Prime Minister is a perfect opportunity for Bharat to build the exact infrastructure needed to attract visitors and strengthen our economy. Please list your top undiscovered, stunning locations.
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan remarked, "Every new country I visit strengthens my belief in the exceptional service offered by Indian hotels and tourism." Irfan Pathan has traveled extensively since he was 15. It is depressing to hear disparaging comments on my country's exceptional hospitality, even though I admire the cultures of other nations.
Prior to this, renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar praised Sindhudurg, a coastal town in Maharashtra, on social media for its stunning beaches and unspoiled islands.
We celebrated my 50th birthday in Sindhudurg 250 days ago, according to Sachin! The seaside town provided all of our needs and then some. We have a wealth of memories from the stunning settings and the amazing hospitality. India is endowed with pristine islands and gorgeous beaches. We have so much to discover and so many memories ready to be made thanks to our Atithi Devo Bhava concept.

PM Modi’s First Visit Of The Year 2024 To Lakshdweep
Lakshadweep, a union territory of India, is known for its beauty. Located in the middle of the blue sea, this island attracts people's attention with its amazing views and beautiful beaches. Many people also consider it as the Maldives of India as its beaches give a tough competition to many foreign tourist spots.

Lakshadweep is a group of islands located in the blue waters of the Arabian Sea, about 200 km off the southwest coast of India. Lakshadweep is known for its natural beauty. Here you can see the underwater world with exciting activities such as diving and snorkeling.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi went to Lakshadweep and spent time at the beautiful beach here and had an exciting time snorkeling in the blue sea. The Prime Minister also said that people who love adventure should definitely come here. He praised the beauty of Lakshadweep and described it as an excellent tourist destination. He also appealed to people to include it in their travel bucket list.
PM Modi said, "Lakshadweep is not only a natural beauty but also a peaceful place". It gave me an opportunity to think about how to work even harder for the welfare of 140 million Indians.
PM Modi wrote on X, "Recently I had the opportunity to live among the people of Lakshadweep. To this day, I am still in awe of the beauty of the islands and the warm hospitality of the people. During this time I was able to spend time in Agatti, Bangaram and Kavaratti. I got the opportunity to interact with the people. I thank the people here for their hospitality."
PM Modi further wrote that the projects inaugurated here include development of Lakshadweep and creation of future infrastructure. In addition, there is a need to create opportunities for better health, fast internet and drinking water, as well as keeping local culture alive.
PM Modi said that Lakshadweep is not just a group of islands but it is a timeless heritage of traditions. And it is a testament to the spirit of his people. My journey has been a rich journey of learning and growth
Flight facilities of many airlines are available to reach Lakshadweep. This is the best way to get to this island group. Book your hotel in advance and start planning before you head here. There are many tribal communities in Lakshadweep where you should not go. In such a situation, it is important to have the information here.
Lakshadweep is a group of many islands and you can visit many islands here. You will need to have a good budget for this. There are very few tourists here, so you should be careful when wandering around here. You can also use any travel agency to travel to Lakshadweep.
