FUSION AU YEAHHHH! Kills and Mera addition! Here is Khaos or Chirin if you wanna be boring about it. Let me ramble about them under the cut! My sweet little trash baby!

The only reason that they have two names kind of is because their names are already very phonetically similar and Chirin was the less boring option, but then KHAOS came to mind (spelled exactly like that) and i fell in love. So their name is Khaos lol

Chimera's sluttiness and Killian's garbage vibes really give this character a FLAVOR. If the word Scuttle or Skitter was a person, Khaos would be them lol.

Mostly because they do scuttle about! They are on all fours a lot, climbing over stuff and pouncing on people because they still feel very quadrupedal even though they only have two legs. Gives them an extra layer of goblin energy that is very on brand.

I think the personality here is channeling MAJOR Eda Owlhouse vibes, moreso than Jackie over there (also very VERY vague inspo coming from Eris of Sinbad fame). Like, if you combine a grimy homeless man and the hottest woman ever you will get a trashy milf out of it. Thats what they are, a trashy milf lol.

A tomboy fatale if you will.

Okay so, I don't know why this fusion just gives such SHORT ENEGERY?? I think its because their so Crechur coded that they've gotta be a little smaller than others. Shorter than Jackie even!

I just knew FOR A FACT that I had to give them the most crazy MANE imaginable, kind of giving them mad hatter vibes almost. The rest of the fit is still up for debate (trying to balance out baggy and covered and max sluttiness is not easy), but they do have double snake scarf! Both snake friends!

Plus their little half skirt, caplet thingy has subtle leopard spots on it, instead of just grime and stains.

I think their whole powerset would be based around the idea of a really bad acid trip lol. Just to add another alice in wonderland motif, their powers are a lot of hallucinations, weird dream like states and a lot of other physical symptoms associated with drug use. Overall, NOT a good time, wouldn't not recommend. This is the literal image of a nightmare blunt rotation.

Their eyes can probably do the little swirly, hypnosis kinda thing.

AND THEY GOT BODY HORROR FOR DAYS. I think their niche is being a contortionist and all the fun shit that goes with that!

Like the fucking Alexandrite lookin, double mouth/jaw under the face type of shit! Thats canon because that shits metal as fuck.

And so I had this thought of this fusion and how they interact with other fusions and like, I think Jackie is a bit conflicted lol. They are trying SO HARD to figure out if their attracted to this alley cat looking bitch or not lol. Are they attracted to them? Are they terrified of them?? Is it BOTH??? Who knows! But it has been FUN to think about.

Also on Complementary Conundrum...

Who would be the "Protagonists" if this becomes an actual story-thingy? Is there an "Edda and Aven" equivalent of a Purple and yellow starfolks?

Oh! How about some more silly ideas for this that you have?

In my mind, the protagonists are the same, but the enemies are more varied.

There could very easily be a purple/yellow pair that runs counterpart to Edda and Aven. They might be antagonistic, or they might be friendly or slightly neutral. I suspect they start out vaguely antagonistic towards our Duo in the "stay out of our way/stay away from us" manner, if not the "I would like to fight you" aspect.

Either way, the Yellow star is the one who's mostly running, meanwhile the Purple star is chasing. They...probably come to terms a bit later than Edda and Aven, especially given Purple's propensity for chucking water at Yellow.....

One thing that would be...interesting is if there's a little bit of dissonance between the two transcendent types and their opposite un-transcended colors - i.e. there's some flak between Red, and Blue and Orange; Green, and Purple and Yellow. Not necessarily hostility, but a dissonance in magic, to the point where the Purple and Yellow protagonists couldn't really manage to fight or absorb a Green opponent, and Edda and Aven likewise can't really do much against a Red opponent.

It would also, in my mind, be absolutely hilarious if there's a counterpart of sorts to Summum, and with whom Summum has... not beef, but they don't exactly mesh too well, and Summum (and the other one too, really) is very frustrated because by all accounts their cooperation might be their ticket to beating TOFA, and they just don't mesh very well.... Eden and their counterpart are the actual ticket, and their progress sorta... helps Summum and counterpart start getting along as well. Mutual interest and all that. This is rapidly turning into a mirror world situation.

If we assume there's some flipside protagonists, then I think the whole arc stretches out a bit farther as both pairs reach their transcendence - Eden and then... we'll say Akra for now, constituents being Akki (Purple) and Ezra (Yellow). Once they both achieve that, then they have a whole arc of trying to get used to each other, with the end goal of merging into... whatever comes next. They don't know what comes after that. What actually happens is one of two things:

A Black Star: An entity of unclear...well, everything, with no polarity and that appears to “glow” darkness. Black Stars can access all magic of their components, plus a void magic of sorts. A magic of nonexistence. A Black Star, while a fusion of transcendence, retains all of the individual's that comprise it, and can disassemble as desired.

A White Star: Likewise lacking polarity, White Stars are the alternative but rarer result to green and red absorption, wherein all entities fuse completely into one being. They cannot separate after this, because there is no more "they."

White Stars are the indirect predecessors to a Black or White Hole - if they so choose, they can allow their energy to begin expanding and spreading into supernova conditions, until they eventually collapse inward into either a Black Hole or a White hole. Black Holes are the significantly higher probability. This has not occurred before, so the Starfolk don't know this information. TOFA also isn't aware of this mechanic.

...And yes, TOFA gets eaten by a Black Hole in this AU.

so this whole thing started as an off hand comment to local of @/localizationed fame about how jason kinda reminded me of hua cheng lmao (theyre also obv very different but the comment was Enough) and i was like lmao what if jay was just Literally a vengeful ghost and then AUs

i really want to explore chinese jason here, as lady shiva being his mom is one of my favorite theories (which is basically supported by canon, plus or minus a little tweaking) also!!! jason and cass being siblings with vastly different philosophies of violence and justice as products of their respective upbringings are just so fun to think about

im also including duke a Lot in my story plans just cause 1) i like him and 2) i am giving jason a lot of sky/sun/stars symbolism and there is one other bat that has that in Spades it feels wrong to basically give jay some fusion/solar flare powers without Also including duke's meta powers (even if at this point in the story duke legit didn't exist)

this is shaping up to be a very jason cass duke story line, steph will be showing up pretty soon (as indicated by the ending of chap 5!)

OK, so VERY scattered thoughts about the ep because it was an hour long, very exciting, and I’m old and forgetful lol

I really loved this episode, it was so exciting and had such crowd-pleasing moments (all the Steven-Crystal Gem Fusions were quite a highlight for me). The callbacks to old episodes, in particular the Gems landing from a jump echoing the scene from “Serious Steven” (except this time Steven sticks the landing too!), and the opening were just so satisfying to see. Loved it!

I have to say, while I know it’s not everyone’s thing Steven’s desire and insistence on a peaceful resolution is something I really admire (easier done in cartoons, of course, but I think it’s a good instinct to instill in kids). Being able to convince Blue and Yellow of the damage they’ve done and how they too have been hurt and ultimately being able to convince White, it was really a very Steven thing to do.

I did like seeing Blue and Yellow acknowledge what they’d done in the past was bad and try to help Steven, even offering to distract White while Steven escapes with his friends.

Man, like, finding out what exactly happened to Pink Pearl, the whole puppeteering (the “white-washing”, if you will) by seeing it happen to Yellow and Blue Diamond and then the Crystal Gems was dang eerie. Like, I knew what happened was pretty chilling but it is definitely extra creepy to see it happen to character you know.

Bismuth and Lapis and Peridot swooping in as the cavalry was amazing! I can’t really elaborate on that, it was just such a heck yeah moment (love you, Bismuth!!)

Gosh, the new outfits, everyone’s new outfit!! I loved them all, Pearl’s especially, of course, because you know how much I love Pearl, but everyone looked so dang stylish and perfect. Lapis’ sweats and sandals, Peridot’s rad glasses, Garnet’s rad glasses and bi-color coattail thingies, Pearl’s jacket, Amethyst’s jean shorts. All of it perfect.

Loved loved loved seeing all the Fusions! Really just fantastic! As I’ve mentioned many many times, I’ve been dying to see if Steven and Pearl would form Rainbow Quartz and they do!! And I gotta say, I love them, so theatrical with that cool parasol. And Sunstone, man, Sunstone is just precious, exactly what I’d expect from a Steven and Garnet Fusion, a super supportive ray of near-literal sunshine (the fourth wall breaking PSA announcements were just excellent. Stay in school, kids!). Oh, and Obsidian, man, just, like, amazing. Wow.

And so I don’t forget to mention it I’ll put it here, I absolutely adored Connie in this episode. She was so supportive and strong and awesome. imo she really shined in this episode that had a heck of a lot of competition. Connie’s the best, man!

Gotta say, I knew Steven wasn’t going to die (because it’s a cartoon, you know) but seeing him get his Gem taken out was brutal. The whole scene after that, Steven growing weak, his Gem reforming into him (confirming that Steven has ALWAYS been Steven), reconnecting, the really beautiful and adorable fluid animation of them laughing and spinning around. Just, wow.

The music, gosh, the music was just stellar. A+ job by Aivi and Surasshu yet again!

That ending, though. All the corrupted Gems cured, Jasper’s back, Lars and the Off-Colors are on Earth, Steven and Greg and the Crystal Gems are one big happy family. The absolutely precious and lovely bookending sort of thing echoing the opening with them sitting on the beach just made my heart happy. I love these guys so much.

I’m gonna echo like everyone else in saying this episode really felt like a series finale. I know it’s not but it seems like it may’ve been designed to serve as one. I’m curious where the series will go from this, aside from the upcoming movie. Like, I know a lot of stuff wrapped up but I personally would be interested in seeing where all the Gems settle and how that impacts humanity. Plus, you know, I’m not ready to part with my fave precious Gem family yet. And, like, we gotta see how everyone reacts to each other, see Peridot and Lapis fuse, see how Homeworld reforms, see if they make amends for the planets they’ve disrupted, etc etc. I feel like there’s more in this show’s universe that could be explored before it’s done. But, I mean, I know that could just be my love for the show and not wanting it to end soon talkin’, but hey, I’m still curious about those things.

Anyways, I’m definitely, definitely forgetting some important stuff. This episode was so jampacked with moments and it’s really hard to think back and remember everything but man was it such an awesome ride. Love this show, love its crew, and I love all you guys, I hope you all enjoyed the episode as much as I did!

1.            Talk about the first ship you ever had.

Urgh. If I must.

When I was 14 my friend insisted I get a LiveJournal. I couldn’t be bothered, so my friend made me a LiveJournal. I still didn’t get it so I snooped through a bunch of the communities she was following and came across fanfic for the first time. To call the first parings I read my OTPs or even something I shipped is, I think, stretching the truth to almost breaking point, but nevertheless, the first ships I read were via bandom: Damon/Graham from Blur, a variety of different Britpop and Britpop revival pairings, and Pete/Carl from the Libertines.

I think I didn’t understand what people did on LiveJournal, not really, so I found the one thing that actually made sense to me, i.e. reading stories. And then I enjoyed the idea, I guess. I don’t really know. As far as I recall, the really early stuff I read weren’t very narrative/plot strong, and were very non-AU in context. Or at least, they were until the Libs stuff came along. So yeah, I started out in RPF/RPS, which is why I’m perhaps more mellow towards that whole area than some people. *shrugs* I don’t know any of the people involved, they may as well be fictional characters. And I’m certainly not delusional enough to believe that what I’m reading is true.

In terms of actual shipping, I think it was probably Jared/Jensen from Supernatural RPF because I was never comfortable enough with Sam/Dean and the inherent incest involved with that ship to ever claim it as a straight up ship/OTP for me.

3.            What’s your current OTP?

In literal terms – i.e. One True Pairing – I don’t have one. Generally speaking though, it would be Steve/Bucky, Clint/Bucky and Clint/Nat/Bucky. All MCU/Marvel Comics fusion/mashups. Oh and Kate Bishop/America Chavez.

5.            Do you have any poly ships?

HOO BOY DO I EVER. Polyshipping is my jam. I love Clint/Nat/Bucky above all else. But I also love Steve/Peggy/Bucky and Clint/Steve/Bucky. And more people need to write Clint/Nat/Sam please.

9.            Do you have many ships that never got together at all?

As in what? In canon? None of my ships are canon – or at least, none of my ships that I actively read and write for. Steve/Peggy is canon and Tony/Pepper is canon. Clint/Nat has been canon in Marvel comics and was the closest one to becoming canon in the MCU.

22.          Which of your ships have the best chemistry?

Steve/Bucky.

Though does this mean in canon or when I write them or… what, exactly? Because obvs Steve and Bucky aren’t together in canon but there’s still a whole boatload of chemistry regardless. And Clint and Natasha in The Avengers (2012) have loaaaads of chemistry imo (hence people wanting them to get together and all that AoU brouhaha). Though still: Steve/Bucky. Hands down.

26.          Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic you’re more drawn to?

I don’t like passive women, but other than that… no? I’m very bad at seeing connections like that though, so maybe someone else can see any, if they’re there.

Dirk/Jake: Yeah this one was pretty obvious, I’m not sure with all the. timeline shenanigans, but I’m guessing they’ll need to work out some relationship issues.

DAD/Calliope/Jane: Not much to say on this pairing, other than it might be interesting if we get to see DAD talk? He probably wont though, let’s be honest.

Dave/Karkat: Ohh yis, the gay ship that nobody can agree on. WELL I CAN AGREE WITH MYSELF, and what myself thinks is that they are fucking precious together.

Jade/RoSE OH FUCK: OK DONT MIND ME JUST SHIPPING. Ahem. So THIS is a pairing we haven’t seen a lot of, despite them both being from the same session. WHICH IS INTERESTING, because they have a really neat dynamic. AND ALSO I FUCKING SHIP THEM

Kanaya/Roxy: This should be interesting as well! Again, I’m trying to wrap my head around timeline shenanigans, so who knows how much Kanaya knows about Roxy. But Roxy did the matriorb thing! And I feel like Kanaya is seriously gonna admire Roxy, which is likely going to be adorable.

What if Rose didn’t shatter Pink Diamond, but...

White Diamond did. Or didn’t

I myself am a strong believer in the theory that Pearl shattered Pink Diamond, but I got reminded of this image

We can clearly see Rose Quarz and White Diamond...battling each other? It looks like it. 

When actually WD is in a battle stance and RQ is in a defencive stance.

What I find strange is that diamond shape pink thingy by Rose’s hands.

So what if Pink Diamond grew fond of the Earth and decided not to destory it, but it went against White Diamond’s plans(and you know white people, we like to opress and bully) and they started a war. And that painting is actually the moment when WD poofed PD and Rose Quarz came to the rescue. What if that wasn’t even the Rose Quarz that we all know, as in Steven’s mom, but a whole bunch of RQs in a huge fusion, like the one the Rubies do. Imagine 3-5 RQs, they would make up the height of a Diamond. We now now,*SPOILER ALERT* that Rose isn’t the only RQ out there. There are a whole freaking lot of them, all, as a species, bubbled by, I guess, one of the Diamonds.

But if White Diamond indeed shattered Pink Diamond, then it would explain Pearl’s reaction to mentioning Pink Diamond as well as Pearl herself shattering PD. Because Pearl was most likely White Diamond’s pearl. 

I know, I know...the hair color and the pink diamond on her space suit...But those are all things that can be changed, like her hair color  - dyed, her space suit - adjusted by herself.

But there is one thing that cannot be changed and that is her pearl being on the same place as the diamond on White Diamond - on the head. Plus, like...her hair in the flashback in “The Answer” is white

Back to Pearl’s reaction. What if seeing her Diamond shatter/go against her own sister, maybe even shattering Pink Pearl in the process wihtout blinking an eye, was such a traumatic event for Pearl that she was completely broken by it, and then she met Rose and Rose healed her(maybe not only spiritually but also healed a crack or something), while Rose was protecting Pink Diamond and the Earth. 

One last thought is that it just seems strange that Rose or anyone for that matter would have the power to shatter Diamonds. In real world, if I am not mistaken, diamonds are the hardest gems and are actually used to cut diamonds..I’m not sure about that, though. 

There was “the breaking point” made by Bismuth, but...I think she was bubbled before Pink Diamond was shattered, because, honestly, she didn’t sound like she knew anything about it. She said “a weapon that WOULD HAVE won the war”. So she thought that shattering a Diamond or other gems would have won the war, but didn’t it win the war? Why talk like that had never happened? Because I think she wasn’t around at that time, and at first Rose Quarz didn’t want to shatter anyone and I firmly believe that she didn’t. She wasn’t the one to shatter PD, that is if she is even shattered.

So that’s the theory. Right now all we can do is support the show and wait for the grand reveal. Either way I think it’s gonna blow our minds. Because that is what that show does. I love it so much) Thank you for reading if you have read it to this point!

Finally, it is our turn to go to vacation.

We will spent 3 days in Tottori, 3 days in Osaka and 2 days in Kyoto.

The following few blog entries will summarise our trip and itinerary.

This is the first time I get to test out my AirFly too.  A bluetooth device that will pair with your new AirPods 2.0 with noise cancellation feature.  For full review of this AirFly, search on my blog for the keyword “AirFly”.

We took the red-eye flight.  So, when the sun just come out, the moon is about to go down.

Zoom in.  I can’t see the moon.

This photo is taken at the Kansai Airport terminal when we touched down.

A security guard quickly walked towards us and demand me to “Delete” the photos that I just taken few secs ago.

Without arguing, I did so.

Few minutes later, Jay said: “Daddy, you know you can recover the photos from the Recent Deleted folders, right?”

I pretend I knew and actually I forgot totally about it.

So, I did so, recover the following photos.  Yeah, we arrived at Kansai Airport.

There is a small Pokemon shop at the Kansai Airport.  Don’t miss it.

We are taking this Airport Train to Shin-Osaka JR station.

After I changed my JR Pass (Kansai Wide 5-days Area Pass) which I bought it from Klook.  Very convenient.  You can walk to the JR office and change the pass.  They even print out the travel itinerary for you.

I didn’t even bother to take the reserved seats as I knew it will be quite empty the train.  Cart 1 and 2 are the free seatings.

And from there, we took the JR train to Tottori (鸟取).  Why tottori?  Well, I found out that tottori and surrounding is famous for it’s Sand Dunes and Starry night sky.  That is why I allocated 2 days to try my luck during winter time to see if I can capture the Starry nigh sky.

And off we go.

OK, one thing in Japan is … the bento set meal are very popular.  Make sure you get a few of these from Shin-Osaka station before you board the train.

We have the Sukiyaki Bento of Omi beef, one of the three best beef in Japan.

It sure looks delicious.

Also very nice.  Got a “fake egg” too.

Very tasty meals.  But the one we took is cold meal.  Some meal have the heat pack underneath to heat it up.  Will introduce a few days later.

Frankly, I have not researched where we want to visit before booking the trip. I only know I want to see the Sand Dunes and the Starry sky.

So, mind as well take this time to serve the Internet on the things to see in Tottori.

Look what I found…

One of the largest Astro Observatory has a very big telescope lens.

Too bad, we not visiting there.  Not enough time.  Next trip perhaps.

Judging from the amount of clouds in the sky, I think my chance taking the photos of the starry sky is very very slim.

This is how many stop we pass thru to get to Tottori station.

Actually there are quite a number of places to visit in Tottori.  But because I only allocated two nights here with the first day being the traveling day, so, we won’t cover all these places.

And the Tottori state is really big.  From here to our hotel is 1 hour drive.

My mistake.  I thought it is very near, from the map, that is why I booked that hotel.

It is the most nicest hotel of the whole trip.  🙂

I have arranged a rented car from Nippon Rent-A-car.  The office is just about 700 meter away from the Tottori station.  So, we will be walking there with our luggages.

Along the way, we saw some flowers.  Or rather, cabbages.  hahah

It looks so pretty.  I already like this place after seeing these flowers on the street.

Nice.

And don’t forget that you need to have a International Driving License so to drive in Japan.  I didn’t get a chance to do mine, so, I will just use my wife one.  Means, my wife is the only driver for the journey.

You can rent a car any where, and it is good choice because you can see more things when you drive.  Instead of take buses, or trains and walk.

The only thing is we are lucky enough to fit those two big luggages into the car boot.  So, all these factors needed to be considered before you drive in Japan.

Rent a Prius is a good choice as it is hybrid.  For 3 days, we only uses 1000 yen of fuels.  Our hotel is 1 hour away and all point of interests is 30 min and 1 hour away.

We found AEON and of course, let the kids play the Pokemon arcade machine.  For 30 minutes.

Kids are good at gaming.  Even every thing is in Japanese, the kids some how will learn and know what to do in playing it.  Cool.

They played this 1-2 years ago and they remembered to bring their Pokemon cards along too.

Haiz.  Look at the sky.  Not much chance to see Starry Sky tonight.

Here we go.  The serious looking driver wife, and 3 happy boys.  Hahahaha

Oh ya, there is this App I strongly recommend.  But only will work on iPhone XR, XS, 11 and 11 Pro (i.e small and Max).

This app will take videos and photo using the front and rear camera at the same time.  Very cool.

Using Dualgram, I can make comment, see my own face and show you what I see in front of me at the same time.  Very cool.

Actually this program was written by one of my business partner during my Mediaring days.  And I found it a great idea and I have been using it ever since.

Passing by White Rabbit beach.

An hour drive to hotel and the view of sun setting is nice.

We driving on the coastal road.  So, being able to see the sea is very nice.

Look at the waves.  I bet you there must be people surfing the wave here.  And my hunch was correct.  See tomorrow blog journal to see the surfers.

The sunset is spectacular.

Sunset.  Without using the Dualgram.  Not so nice ya.  Better use Dualgram again later, so that I can see my own face and expressions.

Almost reaching hotel.  Driving on small roads now.

And we finally reach our hotel.  望湖楼 (See Lake building).  i.e. Hawai Onsen Hotel Bokoku.

It’s 5pm plus we reached the hotel.

Look what Kay Kay found.  A crab hat.

And this is our room.  Japanese style room.  And there is a window to look at the lake.  So, it is Lake view room.

There is a lake in front, so, we suppose to see stars.  But just too much clouds in the sky.

Hey, onsen is there.  The male and female onsen.  On the lake itself.

Since the weather is quite cold, I decided not to bring the kids out to that onsen.  We stay inside the hotel onsen.  Only mommy go to the outdoor onsen.

And I can either open the windows to take photo or I can close the window to take photos.  Later I tell you how.

Kay said the onsen is very nice as 1) it does not have very strong metallic taste and smell, 2) the temperature some how is around 37-38 degrees.  Not so hot.

Here comes mommy joining us.  She went outdoor to do the outdoor onsen.  There are 4x onsens in this hotel.  2x indoor and 2x outdoor.

As we ordered two nights of Kaiseki Dinner.  Better go to the restaurant on time.

And the dinner room has already been waiting for our arrival.

After a full meal, let’s take a stroll.  Actually, I did that before the dinner with the kids, now, walk with my wife.

Before go to sleep, hang around at the lobby area, reading the magazine.  Wow, it seems like we going to miss all these point of interest.

So, we pretty much have in mind what we going to do tomorrow next day.

3PM in the morning

Somehow, my instinct woke me up at 3pm.  I move my lazy body and open the curtains.  Wow, there are some stars.

So, in the dark, I slowly bring out all my gears.

As it is cold, so, I intended to take the photos inside the room.

Yeap, I am taking photos from inside the room, using the ULH.

See how big it is?  It reduces the reflection to almost zero reflection.

No joke.  The sky is full of stars.

Mis-calculated my shuttle speed.

500 rules.  I am using the 9mm lens on Fujifilm X-H1 with crop factor of 1.5.  So, the maximum time I can expose my photo is 500/(9×1.5) = 38.46 seconds.

Why did I have an impression I can shoot for almost 60 seconds.  See, my stars are trailing inside the photos.

Our well, let’s process it anyway.  hahaha  This is the best photo I taken that has these stars.

So, imagine, if the clouds are not there?  What will you see, a sky full of stars.
