This is kinda all over the place bc I don't have a coherent idea but I just need to write it all down before I forget

How Jia was bit was on a hot ass day and she basically fell asleep on a spider and gained powers unknowingly

Doesn't find out for maybe a week

Has a weird dream one night where she basically meets a deity in her dream and the exchange was literally like

"You, Jialin Chen, now bear the powers to protect this la-"

"Uhm yea no thanks, pass 😬"

"WHAT?"

And then a comedic exchange occurs between mortal and god haha! Until the deity was like ENOUGH this is your DESTINY you will bear it whether you like it or NOT 👹 so Jia's kinda like alright fine damn 🙄 but obviously we all know how she really feels abt the whole situation (she hates it bc of issues) but anyways

The reason why it took a whole week is cause uhmmm plot hole lelel or smth the deity can't actually interfere directly with the world

EITHER WAY this is basically spoilers for endgame but it's not like I'll ever make a coherent plot bc I'm too lazy and dum but basically

The deity of Jia's universe is border on obsessive with creating a story line and destiny and heroes and stuff like that and ofc it has to be perfect (bc ofc it has to be, totally not cliche or anything)

Anyways this obsession makes them interfere TOO much with Jia's universe because if the deity was never this obsessed

Jia probably would've gotten over her issues (bc she's meets someone to help her copeeee 😋😋 cougjocughcgpuccough)

But bc the deity is an unreasonable shithead, they're literally the root of every problem:

They're responsible for Jia's split soul because of how abrupt her duties were suddenly forced on her

Bc of the split soul problem, it nearly upsets the world balance that could've been very bad for the universe! (the day she had lost the plot and had a existential crisis breakdown I think I posted it here but basically on that day she was flickering between both before Lin took control)

-> the logic is rlly,,, idk nonsensical for this bc what I thought as world making is that you can't have two souls in control at once and it goes again natural laws so it nearly ficked up her world cause it AINT SUPOSE TO HAPPEN ITS NEVA SUPOSE TO HAPPENNN but moving on

So then Lin switches in place of Jia and the world balance is briefly restored YAYY 🎉 everything is fine‼️

Cause now Lin went and 'broke up' (idk it wasn't rlly a break up bc she never said 'lets break up' but she kinda did go 'we aren't meant for each other 🖕' and dipped) with hb so NOW HES GOING THRU IT and the rest of her friends back at spider society are like ???? What the??? Fuck???

Lin does manage to spend a few days or more at the hq cause technically she is still Jia but just

But everyone's kinda weirded out cause she's Serious™ now and even Miguel's kinda like wattafack 🧍 plus the fact she has long white hair that spawned out of nowhere so they kinda piece some form of logic together that she's a different Jia

Anyways some time passes and one day an especially big anomaly is warned abt in Jia's (still Lin) universe which is bizarre cause they're not usually this big but it's all because of that STOOPID FUKASS deity GOING AROUND FUKIN THINGS UP and somehow created this ridiculously bad threat as a 'enemy' for the 'hero of their story' to defeat

The biggest problem with the anomaly is that while it doesn't really like, belong in Jia's universe, it doesn't belong in any OTHER universe either BECAUSE THAT DEITY BOUGHT IT UP OUTTA NOWHERE BC THEYRE PSYCHO I need to stop hating on characters that I literally made anyways

So HQ can't exactly deal with it like they usually do but they can try to offer assistance at least

Obviously for obvious (cliche) reasons CERTAIN PEOPLE are gonna be there cause yknow they still care abt Jia even tho she's changed (to Lin momentarily)

Battle occurs blah blah I'm not good with action scenes and things are looking a littttlee bleak for Lin and Co and all the sudden Lin receives a bad injury that nearly knocks her unconscious but thru her ringing ears and muted background noise she hears SOMEBODDYYY CALLING HER NAAMMEEE (god I really wonder who)

Because her state of unclarity from the Blunt Force Head Trauma makes things a little weird, the fine line between Jia and Lin also becomes a little muddled and the Jia that's been hiding behind Lin can hear his voice and it quite literally brings her out of that dark room in her mind to control again so TLDR Jia is back again instead of Lin

Reunion happens for maybe 3 minutes tops before shit hits the fan again and suddenly the deity has teared through time space fabric out of anger to speak directly to them mortal little earthlings on the ground because they're a little bitch

All because they thought Lin was the true protagonist they've been searching for all along and now 'that insolent fool' (hobie) has ruined everything (he does no wrong)'

But suddenly because the deity is in direct contact with the mortal world, they're like wait 🤨 you're not from this universe and sees other things also not from this universe and goes on a tangent about how they don't need to rebuild a 'story' anymore and can just find another 'story' to pilot (TLDR AGAIN: local deity discovers universe theft and wants to ditch this universe cause Jia's spiderman story wasn't perfect and now wants to find another universe to force to become their 'perfect story')

Obviously spider people are like 😨😨😨 UHMMM NO TF UR NOTTT so they start retreating (as they should tbh) and Jia's like helping to round up people to gtfo of her universe before some batshit deity absorbs them or smth

Atp bits of her universe is already crumbling and disintegrating because the deity is already trashing it because it's worthless and imperfect now (ngl me when art 😭😭)

So now it's the last of the people to go back thru the portals and its Jia and Hb :)) (y'all should know what's coming next)

Truthfully, Jia wants to so so badly go thru the portal to stay with the rest of them but she knows that there was the possibility of her connection with the deity of her world and her as a creation from the said deity

So she says goodbyes

Pushes him thru

And throws in her watch before it closes properly so the FUCK ASS DEITY CANT GET ANY KIND OF CONNECTION TO THE MULTIVERSE

And thus it concludes her coming of age plot because she found the proper courage to do what was right in all senses and came to terms with her spider girl identity

Even though she had so much she wanted to do with the rest of them was what she had thought while the thread of her universe on the multiverse crumbled into nothingness

ANYWAYS THE REAL CONCLUSION IS THE DEITY IS THE REAL ANOMALY THEIR OBSESSION DROVE THEM INTO AN ANOMALY AND INTERFERING WITH THE LIVING WORLD but thats kinda what happens when you've been living for centuries, you kinda go a little nuts

As someone with BPD, I struggle a lot with headcanons of Kent Parson with BPD.

Bc on the one hand, I really enjoy people taking the time to research BPD and crafting versions of Kent Parson that are complicated yet respectful and highlighting a disorder that imho isn’t spoken about nearly enough + a lot of thought and effort goes into taking mentally ill characters and fleshing them out with words. Plus I’ve seen some well composed stuff from people who do have BPD and get what it’s like and make wonderfully relatable versions of BPD!Parse and I don’t want to downplay those at all.

But at the same time, I noticed a lot of what happens is that people paint Kent Parson as this guy that’s been really manipulative and can say and do things that are emotionally abusive or just make him all impulsive but then be all like oh he’s like that because he has BPD so it’s okay.

And that’s bad for multiple reasons—the first one being ofc that you can’t excuse manipulative, emotionally abusive, or any other kind of shitty behaviors just bc the person acting that way is mentally ill. The second is that people with Borderline Personality Disorder are generally not like that???? That’s a really harmful stereotype of what people with BPD are like and it’s been perpetuated a lot in various types of media and even within medical and mental health communities.

Anyways, I’m p sure I personally won’t be able to read any fics with BPD!Parson unless they’re personally recommend to me, but I will throw a few things out there that I haven’t seen in BPD!Parse fics but that are common amongst people with BPD. (Please keep in mind that these are based on my own experiences and experiences of other people I know who have BPD—as with any mental health issue, it can manifest very differently depending on the person and not everyone with have experienced all of these):

Manic episodes!!!!! (I feel it’s important to note that often times you won’t realize you’re Manic until you’re peeking. And tbh a lot of times you don’t realize it at all, especially if you don’t have experience recognizing those feelings. Also I’ve noticed that with people with BPD that are more on the consistently manic side will not notice their mania because while manic episodes are intense, if you’re used to them it feels totally normal to feel that way all the time. You might not notice it’s a thing until it gets pointed out by an outsider or unless you get a really really bad one or end up hospitalized)

After a manic episode, you might Crash—a sort of Mania Hangover, if you will. Sometimes it can be a full blow depressive episode, sometimes it’s just a need for sleep or maybe releasing a few hard earned tears. (Or if you’re one of those people that’s kind of Perpetually Manic or going through a manic phase, maybe you won’t even Crash, you’ll just slide into another episode like whatislife amiright??)

If not full blown mania, then mood swings!!!! So many mood swings!!!!! They’re intense and sometimes they last a few hours and sometimes they last a few days. People with BPD have intense emotions, highs and lows and you can on occasion get several in the span of an hour or two.

A chronic feeling of emptiness (I’m thinking of Parse feeling empty n wow that hurts so bad doesn’t it?)

Reckless, impulsive, or dangerous behaviors, often thought of as a result of trying to fill that emptiness or during feelings of mania or anger or mood swings. (This can manifest as shopping sprees, sex, substance abuse, binge eating, etc).

Viewing things in black and white—often times things and feelings are perceived as either totally Good or totally Bad, with little to nothing in between. It’s easy to distort your point of view to make it so that everything fits in those categories. This is a defense mechanism and is often referred to as “Splitting” or all-or-nothing thinking.

The Good/Bad POV//defense mechanism also and especially applies toward people and while logically you might know people are multifaceted and want to recognize that people can be both good and bad, sometimes it can be really hard not to look at people and subconsciously be like “okay are you a hero or a villain, a protagonist or an antagonist, do I love you or hate you” (idealization vs devaluation)

In the BPD community, many people have something called an FP (a Favorite Person)—this is a person you’ve formed an emotional dependency on that can quite literally make or break your day with the slightest provocation. Frankly, this is kind of difficult to talk about so I recommend skimming this article. Basically, you devolve intense feelings for a person (be it romantic or platonic) and when they give you attention or when you view their actions as positive, it’s like you’re happier than you’ve ever been but if you view something they did or said as a negative towards you (even if it wasn’t their intention), suddently your mood plummets so badly that you might feel physically pained or enter a major depressive episode or feel suicidal. (Not everyone has or has had an FP, but if you have one and they reject you and the relationship between the two of you is over, it can feel kind of like a soulmate au gone bad in which you gotta break this Profound Bond and it feels like you’re shattering. Not impossible to get over but you’ll be kind of broken for a while, or maybe just a little cracked forever.) ((Was Jack Zimmermann Kent’s FP???? Who knows, just don’t think about it))

While obviously relationships with people can often be intense and sometimes unstable, it doesn’t mean everyone is regarded with the same level of intensity and it doesn’t mean people with BPD don’t also have normal and healthy relationships and friendships. It truthfully depends on the person. Sometimes all relationships are affected, and sometimes it’s just one.

Disassociation—this can range from depersonalization (feeling disconnected from your body), derealization (feeling disconnected from reality), amnesia (lost time), and identity confusion (losing self).

Speaking of identity—people with BPD struggle with their self-image, and yes sometimes they will distort how they view themselves to fit their mood. I often see this brought up in fics in regards to Kent Parson as either having extreme narcissism or with an extremely low self worth. While those two things aren’t generally out of the realm of possibility, most of the time when it comes to people with BPD and their identity it’s more like they’re lost???? Idk how to describe it but amongst people with BPD, it’s common to feel like you don’t know who the real you is, or like there is no real you and you’re just made up of other people. It’s because sometimes we latch onto the habits and obsessions of others, of our friends and loved ones, and they become our habits and our obsessions, and sometimes realizing this can push you into a bit of an identity crisis????? (Does anyone have a way to put this into English that makes sense bc I’m doing my best here but I Suck soooo) EDIT: the word for it is “Identity Disturbance” and it’s A Big Thing

Seemingly unprovoked bursts of anger and irritability are not uncommon

A lot of people with BPD have abandonment issues. Be it real or imagined abandonment, many of us try to avoid feeling that kind (or any kind) of rejection, even if it means we’re the ones doing the rejecting first. I see this well represented in fics but it’s very dragged out. (Truthfully, imho people with BPD can kinda suck at rejecting people, like we’ll wanna do it so that you don’t do it to us but we can’t quite execute it all that well and when we do we try not to dwell on it.)

I have noticed in BPD!Parse fics, most of the time he has a healthy sense of distrust towards people and their intentions and that’s pretty accurate although sometimes it’s the exact opposite—you might trust too much or too quickly if you consider them Good.

Major depressive episodes are not at all uncommon. (I apologize bc I don’t think I’m going to be able to put in as much detail about this rn bc tbh I’m running on the Manic side lately and when I’m more manic I tend to forget what it’s like to feel depressed or just how those feelings come about until I get hit with a wave of them and then I just wallow.)

Self-harm and suicidal thoughts are not uncommon either, even if you aren’t going through a depressive episode or feeling sad. (An unfortunate percentage of people with BPD die from suicide.)

Some people experience intrusive thoughts or some form of psychosis (if I’m not mistaken the term “borderline” actually comes from an antiquated thought that people with BPD are “borderline psychotic” and so some places no longer use the term “borderline personality disorder” and rather call it an emotional intensity disorder or an “emotionally unstable personality disorder”—bc the latter is totally much better)

Looooots of anxiety, I don’t think in the same way you see in an anxiety disorder??? (I have both so it’s hard for me to describe and separate the two but from what I’ve heard, for people that don’t have an anxiety disorder but do have BPD, it can come in bouts, kind of like manic and depressive episodes but just anxiety and none of the high or low feelings????)

Trouble sleeping is common with people with BPD

A majority of the time, people with BPD also have other disorders such a depression, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, or other personality disorders that coexist with your BPD.

And the last thing: if you’re reading this list and thinking “huh this sounds more like what I’ve read about bipolar disorder rather than borderline personality disorder” then the reason for it is bc the way bipolar disorder is presented in media is often similar to the reality of what it’s like to have BPD (and similarly there is so much more to bipolar disorder that is not presented in media accurately). The two can be very similar from an outsider’s point of view but to put it in oversimplified terms—people with BPD have more persistent day-to-day symptoms that impact them 24/7 whereas someone with bipolar disorder can go through periods of symptom-free wellness for days, weeks, or even years before falling into say a major manic episode. Our mood swings and episodes are also shorter and tend to run on patterns or are a direct reaction to life’s typical stressors��we can have multiple mood swings and episodes within a single day, whereas folks with bipolar disorder have seemingly no warning before an episode that can last months. Also while any form of mental illness (particularly ones that have to do with mania or delusions or hallucinations) can impact your relationship with people, typically people with bipolar disorder don’t have the same problems with interpersonal relationships like people with BPD do. (I hope I don’t sound like I’m “down selling” bipolar disorder or anything, truthfully I’m just not knowledgeable enough to feel comfortable speaking on it but I do know that these are some of the differences between the two and that BPD and bipolar disorder are often misdiagnosed as each other.)

Anyways y’all, BPD is a really serious disorder. Most of the time we’re people that are considered high functioning because it’s a disorder that affects emotions and relationships and sometimes that only seemingly affects our personal and social lives and not our professional or academic lives.

We’re typecast as dramatic and manipulative and attention seekers. I’d personally argue that we aren’t (for the most part) but our behavior can get really poor and we can feel desperate and enslaved by our emotions. We can’t really help it but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t hold us accountable if we act horribly. The point of this is just that if you want to write about this disorder or cast a character with it, try to understand beyond what you’ve seen or heard portrayed by people who don’t have to live with it.

BPD is usually treated with cognitive behavioral therapy but it’s not at all uncommon to have medication as treatment of some of your symptoms or to be hospitalized for it. Personally I used to be on antipsychotics to help stabilize my moods and it was good but not a cure-all, of course. There is no cure for BPD.

Summary: Esme is the daughter of Thor and Jane born on Asgard. Who’s never been or seen Earth before. Lucky for her, she has the brains of her mother Jane, the mischief of her uncle Loki and thirst for adventure of her father Thor. What could go wrong?

A/N: I know! I know! I was planned on posting something yesterday, but I got sidetracked into writing the next part of Motionless...soo....I hope you enjoy this one tho! I also have no idea how last names work on Asgard, so….my bad if I did wrong. 

Esme knew what she was doing was wrong, but both her parents were busy. And her Uncle Loki was busy training his newest apprentice, so…..now was the perfect opportunity. She’s been planning this for months now and wasn’t going to let this open window close on her. She had a strong feeling that Loki knew she was up to something, but he never said anything. So while no one was paying attention, she put her plan into motion.

She managed to sneak herself out of the palace and down to her private speeder she made herself. Well, with the help of Loki. But it was small enough to fit through tight spaces, it was fast and with her brain she inherited from her mother, it had the ability to fold itself up like a scooter. Or whatever people on Earth called it. Double checking that she had everything, Esme sped across the water and took the secret entrance to Earth - which she did not snoop through Loki’s things and found the location of - and headed straight through it. Finally, finally she was going to be landing on Earth. If her calculations were correct, she would be landing somewhere in the Avengers tower. Esme knew her parents were going to be angry with her, but come on! She’s never seen or been on Earth, and she really wanted to meet the Avengers. They were her heroes and often asked Heimdall what they were up to.

A flash of bright light swallowed her up and the next thing she knew. She was in the Avengers tower. Her calculations were more than correct. She was in fact right in the living room of the Avengers tower. Where the team was now standing with shocked expressions. Clearly scaring the shit out of them, no one expected for this to happen.

“That. Was. Fucking. AWESOME!!” Esme exclaimed as she jumped off her speeder. Everyone’s attention was now on the man in the corner who was yelling out in anger.

“Who the HELL are you?! How the HELL did you do that?! And how do I get one?!” Tony yells from across the room. Completely ignoring Tony’s outburst, Esme began making her way around the room. Shaking everyone’s hands, and only hugging Bucky because obviously he was her favorite. Excitedly telling them how big a fan she was and that Heimdall tells her everything. And immediately goes off to explaining how JARVIS is so cool, congratulating Tony on how she loves Nat’s Widow Bite, Steve’s shield, Clint’s bow, Sam’s wings, Tony’s Iron Man bracelets that can call over his suit. Then talking to Bruce about how much the loves his love for science. It was as if she wasn’t even breathing. Who could blame her? She was literally standing amongst her hero’s.

Meanwhile on Asgard…..

Thor bursts into Loki’s study, Jane on his heels. The door slamming open, shaking the walls, Loki was pretty sure the whole of Asgard heard it.

“Loki! We must talk!” Trying not to let his brothers rude entrance get to him, he gave his apprentice his homework and sent him on his way before he fainted of absolute fear from the God of Thunder.

“What is it, brother? To what do I owe this pleasure?” Loki asked Thor while putting away his notes. Rolling his eyes at the event taking place.

“Esme is gone. According to the royal guard, he saw something speed off towards the cave opening. Did you know about this?” Thor’s voice was demanding, but had a slight tone of worry tied along with it. Loki’s shoulders stiffened. Without looking at either of them, he walked up to his bookcase where he kept his vast amount of books neatly placed. And sure enough, there was a book slightly out of place. It was the book where he kept the location kept, along with a few other things as well.

He smiled privately to himself, actually quite proud of his niece. He knew she was planning something, but being the curious man he was, decided to let the events unfold and see what would happen. She was apparently planning a trip to Earth.

“I do believe, she has traveled to Earth if I am not mistaken.” Loki turned to face the couple, Jane was, of course, angry and Thor looked relieved to know where she was, but quickly tensed up again. They were definitely going to be giving Esme a lecture when they found her.

“Let us go to Heimdall, I think it’s time we meet with old friends.” A few minutes later, the three of them were being transported down to Earth.

Back in the tower…..

“Wait, Heimdall?” Steve asked her, slowly starting to put the pieces together. “You mean you’re-” a beam of white light interrupted Steve and then a booming voice followed.

“Esme Thorinson!” The team stood shell-shocked, looking from Thor, Jane, and Loki to Esme, then back to the group. Esme only groaned, rolling her eyes at her parents and how they were being over dramatic.

“Esme Rose Thorinson!” Now Jane was the one yelling, pointing her finger at her daughter, clearly pissed. “You young lady are grounded! What have we told you?” Jane scolded her.

“But it’s the AVENGERS mom! The. Avengers. They’re so COOL! Plus come on! You and dad never let me come down to Earth! I’m nineteen, I’m not some child who can’t take care of herself. Why are you both being dramatic?” Jane was about to speak up when Thor took a step forward.

“Because you are our daughter. When we asked the guards where you were, no one knew where you went. Only to find out you planned this behind our backs. We thought we lost you.” Esme looked at her father’s expression, she could read him like an open book, knowing all the signs if he was lying or angry for that matter. When she saw none, she asked both her parents.

“If I were to tell you what I was planning, would you have let me leave?”

“Absolutely not. Remember what happened when you decided to travel to the Alfheim realm, one of the Nine Realms your father was trying to finalize a treaty with?” Jane spoke up, she was still upset about Esme betraying their trust like this. Esme pointed at her mother.

“Ugh, that was ONE time! Plus their geology and ecology were so far advanced and even matched ours.”

“That still doesn’t cut out the fact that you never told us about this and went ahead and left anyways,” Jane responded, not backing down. But Esme was relentless.

“See dad, THAT’S why I didn’t tell you! I wanted to explore something new and different and Earth seemed like the best bet. I already mapped out all of Asgard anyways. There’s an island close by that has more materials we could use, there’s also this really cool cove about twenty miles past the south docks that’s really amazing! It has these really interesting glow worms that live in these leaf pods. OH! And at night I used the spell that Loki taught me, the one where I can make a ball of light, and the areas around the rivers and pond glowed! My light reacted to them dad!” Now it was Loki’s turn to be surprised, however the team were the only ones that seemed to notice. It wasn’t every day you got to see the God of Mischief be surprised of anything.

“Esme, how did your light react to it exactly?” Loki took a step forward and asked. He hasn’t spoken since they arrived, now everyone could see he was curious to know more. Not to mention, how excited Esme got when Loki gave her the go ahead.

“Uncle, it was amazing! It looked as if it was dancing! It flew out of my hand and started flying with the fireflies. I wanted to tell you, but I kinda got sidetracked about the whole coming to Earth thing…” Esme looked down, slightly deflated. Loki always made sure that he set aside time for Esme whenever she found something new she wanted to share with him. He loved his niece, even though it might not show, but he loved her dearly.

Walking up to her, he lifted her face up. “Esme, I will make it a priority for us to go explore your new discovery as soon as you are done here.”

“Really?” Esme perked up.

“Of course.” He kissed her forehead and faced Thor and Jane. Thor was smiling from the interaction between his brother and daughter. He knew how much Loki doted after Esme, even if he never showed it. Jane still looked unsure, but at least she didn’t look like she was going to scold her anymore.

“I believe, it is time we make our leave brother. I am certain the Avengers will take care of Esme, for she will be in good hands. Unless you think she is not capable of making her own decisions?” Esme knew the question was aimed at her mother, but he looked at his brother, knowing Jane would have to make the final decision. Jane looked at Thor, who nodded in agreement, then back at Esme who was clutching onto her side bag tightly.

With a sigh of defeat, she relented. “Very well, she can stay. But only for a week young lady. A week and then you’re coming home. Understood?” Esme was all smiles as she ran towards her mother, hugging her tightly.

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Don’t worry, I’ll be home by then, thank you, mom, for letting me do this.” Jane hugged her daughter, kissing her hair lovingly. It was hard for her making this choice, but she knew it needed to happen. Esme hugged her father and laughing when he picked her up off the ground, telling her to be careful and to listen to what the Avengers had to say. Also telling her that pop tarts are a necessity on a daily basis. Lastly, she walked up to Loki and gave him a hug as well. She’s always been close to her uncle, he taught her many things and helped embrace who she was. What happened next shocked everyone, including Thor.

Loki wrapped his long arms around Esme’s shoulders and hugged her back. It was very short lived, only lasting for a minimum of three seconds, because that’s all that was needed, but it was still a sight to see. After Jane politely, but sternly threatened the team if they did anything to harm her daughter or come onto her in any way, she was going to make sure they died a very painful death. Then they were swallowed up by the bifrost, leaving Esme with the team.

Tony grumbled under his breath. “See, I TOLD you! But nooo, you didn’t listen. Thor has no respect for anything. First, he leaves the Bifrost mark burned into the grass and now the marble floor is permanently stamped. Dammit, Pepper’s gonna kill me when she finds out.” The team smiled as Tony headed back to his lab, knowing full well FRIDAY was informing Pepper about the floor. The smug bastard.

Esme, turned towards the group, eagerly to get started on exploring Earth. Carefully, she placed her bag on the couch and couldn’t help but ask.

“My dad said something about pop tarts? I’m not quite sure what they are, but I’m excited to try them.”

“Man, this is going to be fun!” Clint spoke up, just as excited as Esme to get started. She already knew she was going to have a fun week.
