23/06/2024. Sharing memories from 2022 when a visit to Paris meant seeing the sights, even if from a distance. Not like to visits to Paris now which entail seeing the inside of a hospital building!

I arrived in Paris on Monday supposedly for three days, but I suppose by now you know how it goes, anything that can go wrong will go wrong! It’s all about my blood count, namely the platelets which even with meds, daily transfusions etc will not rise above an 8. A healthy person has a low platelet count if it falls below 150 so you see the problem. Treatment is due tomorrow so I only hope that that will trigger a positive response.

I was a bit grumpy when they said I had to stay in hospital, I hadn’t brought much in the food line with me, can you believe the doctor, yes THE DOCTOR went shopping for crisps and Mars Bars for me! My white blood cell count increased and I was allowed to go to the cafeteria to take a coffee, on my own! It was good to be allowed out of my room, I did some crosswords and then came back. It was short lived though as the count fell the following day 🤔.

My “boy scouting skills” let me down this time as I only brought two books with me and am now having to limit the number of chapters I read a day 😩. Plus my electoral papers are 3.5 hours away so I doubt I will be able to cast my vote. What a flaming “to do”.

It’s the Euros football competition and my two teams, England and France are making hard work of it. Am I surprised? Not really, too many matches may be tiring out these footballers who are placed on pedestals only to be “kicked off” when they fail to achieve all that they have been bolstered up to do.

The Tour de France starts on the 29 June, another opportunity for “athlete bashing” when our hopefuls fail to achieve.

It’s the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend and another sport where more and more dates are added all to make someone a lot of money. This used to be the sport I followed in the days of Damon Hill, Mika Hakkinen etc etc. It was a time when the drivers actually drove the cars, I haven’t watched it for 7 years now but feel like it’s not the same. Ok I know things have to change but surely for the better. (This is my opinion only).

Just in case you had forgotten we have had the longest day and summer has officially arrived (somewhere).

Last night “The Photographer” and “The Jetsetter” went to the Coop Live in Manchester to see “The Killers” and “Travis”. Still waiting to hear how it went.

“The Photographer” started his new job this week, it looks as if it was a good week. He was invited to the “Summer Bash” in London this coming Friday, sounds like fun. As well as starting the new job, it’s a new place to live and he wants to make friends so managed to find a group where he could have a game of football, to fill in one evening. All positive stuff.

“The Reconnect Navigator” was out on an organised Ghost Hunt last night. It wasn’t “The Trainee Solicitors” thing so no idea what he was doing, probably lost in a book! It’s been another busy time for him this week going between Uni and work. Another two weeks of this course and it will be over and he can settle back into his job.

I am pleased that my family are doing so well, it’s good to be able to do things independently as it gives you more to talk about with your partner. Well I guess that’s how it works 😉.

So many friends, French, English and American have been in touch with me, trying to find out how I am. It’s great to have all these people rooting for me.

Anie seems to have been having a good holiday, she was in the Loire the other day, presumably heading home.

Friday night, all over France, was the fête de la musique. The centre of Bar-sur-Aube was taken over with musical activities, jazz, rock, choirs, duo’s or single singers. It looked to be buzzing! That’s what I like about France always some sort of fete to get you out and about.

Not sure if either of these songs were sung but here are my picks for this week.

The first is by No Doubt, it’s “Don’t Speak” from 1996.

The second is by The Verve, it’s Bitter Sweet Symphony from 1997.

Such choices for me this Sunday morning: a crossword perhaps, or a snooze or maybe I can read my 15 chapters of the book, decisions, decisions!

Today is songs starting with B, and this happens to include a few of my all time favorites! It's always hard to say if any one song is my favorite, because many songs mean a lot to me for many reasons, but some of them stick with me forever.

Bliss - Muse

This song is the musical manifestation of the aching feeling of seeing someone else being happy and wishing and wanting so, so much to have a little bit of the peace and joy in their mind. This is why it's one of my favorites. I always think it's so powerful because it's not wishing ill on whoever is so happy--he's singing "everything about you is so easy to love", it's just that wish to understand it, to search for that light and warmth. This song has such lovely contrasts music-wise too, the synth arpeggios with the scratches in the guitar riff, the minor key verses to major key chorus, it all adds to this feeling of both joy and painful longing at the same time.

Butterflies and Hurricanes - Muse

Yeah, today you get 2 Muse songs for the price of one. I can't help it! This one's also important because it's the inspiration for the first tattoo I ever got. The song's title is a reference to the butterfly effect ("the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado") and for me, it reminds me that small things can mean a lot. The tattoo itself is just a butterfly with some cool geometric patterns, but the meaning is for me!

Blinding - Florence + the Machine

I adore the whole vibe of this song, it reflects perfectly the feeling of "waking up" to the truth of something, of having your illusions about someone shattered, and the mix of both grief and freedom that comes with that. Makes me feel a lot at once in a beautiful way.

Barve oceana - Joker Out

Of all Joker Out songs, this is the one most meaningful to me personally. (To nobody's surprise, if they've ever clicked on my blog and seen the title!) When I say it's changed my life, I mean it. The line "Kdo zdej poje tiste pesmi ki je včasih pela jih?" feels like it was written specifically to remind me that I need to make music again. The whole song about someone finding herself in a faraway place, it's everything to me, it's me and my dreams and it tells me that I have to find that place for myself. Also, the bassline is so damn good...

Buen día Benito - El Cuarteto de Nos

El Cuarteto de Nos is a Uruguayan rock band which I discovered when participating in a Eurovision fan contest, actually, and I'm so glad I did because they're amazing. (Oh, and they've been around since 1984, so they have a huge back catalog!) This particular song is a favorite of mine because of the intensity of it: it's about a guy confronting his childhood bully in search of justice, and reveals more and more painful history as it goes on. It's worth looking up the lyrics to understand it if you don't speak Spanish (or if you're like me and only speak Spanish badly).

Boum Boum Boum - MIKA

Sometimes you just need a fun French song about banging your lover everywhere and shocking the bourgeoisie. That's all. The line, "s'aimer comme ça, c'est pas vulgaire" is always a good reminder, too.

Blood // Water - grandson

I love the genre mixing that grandson has in his music, plus the lyrics about corruption and greed are, unfortunately, always relevant. This one also was a big inspiration for an OC of mine, whose family's greed was the source of him being cursed, so I listened to it a lot when coming up with him.

Black Leather - KEiiNO and Charlotte Qamaniq

I love KEiiNO. I don't think I mention it enough on this blog because they don't really pop up in posts to reblog, so let me mention it now: I love KEiiNO. This song never fails to make me feel better about myself with the line "fashion your shame into a sight".

Bet Maijpuķītēm Jāpaliek - Tumsa

Every note of this song seems to be infused with beautiful melancholy. When I listen all I can feel is like I'm looking into memories through a haze, a pretty haze, but it's still memories, and I'm wishing to touch them again. Opens with the lines "Viņas sapņi ir par to/Tālu zemi, mīļoto", and considering what I said about Barve oceana above, there's definitely a pattern here...

OIKAWA- Keep Your Head Up By Andy Grammer, Absolute Bangers.

“Only rainbows after rain, the sun will always come again.” Loss is something constant in Oikawa’s life, volleyball or relationships. After prelims he would sit alone in his room, mumbling the lyrics to himself before you try to cheer him up.

TSUKISHIMA- Green By Cavetown, idk a breakdown at 2 am?

Yeah cavetown, basic for tsukki but at least it isn’t lemon boy. Something about the line from the chorus, “You looked so good in green. I hope you’re well, And you look so good with him” screams relationship-unready tsukishima for some reason. The artist said that they were new to love and I think it fits Tsukishima well.

BOKUTO- Big Night by Big Time Rush, Liked Songs

First of all, yes I listen to big time rush. Secondly, I just think that someonewould play this during practice as a joke once but it’s stuck as their hype song and they just laugh about it afterwards. Plus I think the lyrics fit bokuto so well. “It’s gonna be a big night, we’re gonna have a good time.”

KUROO- Na Na Na By My Chemical Romance, emo me ??

I have zero explanation for this whatsoever, BUT- I can say that the energy of this song fits kuroo in some way. He is SHOUTING the lyrics after the game against Nohebi. And of course on the bus ride home the team is backing up with the (Na Na Na Na’s)

DAISHOU- Personal By HRVY, Absolute Bangers pt.2

Listen, listen, I am a Mika Stan 100% but, this song and daishou will live in my mind rent free. “I was young and she was my first love. So they say that you live and you learn.” You know?? It fits him, I don’t have an analysis.

TENDOU- Hayloft By Mother Mother, K.

I believe in Tendou listening to mother mother agenda. I know what the song is ‘supposed’ to mean, but I genuinely feel like this is a song on his “pre-game playlist”

OMIMI- Blue Bird from Banana Fish, anime playlist

Omimi playing piano as a relaxer for when he’s stressed about school and/or volleyball. If you were to ever ask him to play for you, he knows you’ll like this song, thigh pressed against his with your eyes closed as he plays.

SAKUSA- Training Wheels By Melanie Martinez, 8:08

It’s a love song. The boy is scared of commitment and his partner wants to ‘take the training wheels off.’ Kiyoomi hasn’t experienced true love within his years, of course he’s afraid, he’s silently pleading for you to wait for him.

FUTAKUCHI- Lava Lamp By Cuco, Inconsistent

I see him as a person who claims to not have time for love. But in reality he only uses it as an excuse because he doesn’t want to tell people he hasn’t found the right person who’ll treat him how he treats them. He just knows someone’s waiting for him and he hopes he finds you.

TERUSHIMA- The Wanderer By Dion, “oldies”

He’s been classified as a playboy, doesn’t deny it but feels the smack on the back of his head when someone says he’s only gotten one ex to humble him. In contrast to the song talking about a guy who roams around picking up girls fits him in a way, though in a following song it tells of the wanderer getting his heart broken.

That’s a terrible analysis goodbye.

IWAIZUMI- Hey There Delilah By Plain White T’s, 2/17/19

Iwa’s first timeskip spoiler! But really, do I need to explain here? Long distance relationship, he’s in California, you’re in Japan, he’d probably pick up guitar just to sing this to you and I will now cry at the thought.

SUNA- Ugotme By Omar Apollo, yk, those vibes.

Suna denying his love for you and then bluntly telling you he’s “so in love with you.” In a second flat after you bring him his favorite snack after practice. He’s a lil dork, pat his head why don’t you?

AKAASHI- Cómo Te Voy A Olvidar By Los Ángeles Aszules, dad’s in the car

Listen I know it’s in Spanish but Akaashi calling his s/o Amor?? Hello??? This 😺 talk English Spanish and French. ANYWAYS, from what the translator,, said the lyric that screams Akaashi to me is “quiero que me vuelvan a mirar tus ojos” basically saying "I want your eyes to look at me again"

Correct me if I’m wrong, the translations are somewhat accurate sometimes...

KENMA- Cannon in D By Johann Pachelbel, CLASSICAL MUSIC HEHE

You know that vine or sum of the guy playing this song on a keyboard and he’s singing “go suck a dick suck a dick” yk that one? Yeah I hc that Kenma plays piano to do something that doesn’t strain his eyes and is relaxing and requires minimal body movement. But if he ever plays this song in front of the team, they are singing “go suck a dick.” Excluding Teshiro, Shibayama, and Kai. Yes fukunaga is singing.

KAGEYAMA- Lookalike By Conan Gray, On repeat

Hello old idea from a few months ago. AHEM. Ex! Kags seeing you with cough oikawa- and he swears you have a type or you’re just trying to spite him, the thought of you genuinely liking Oikawa outside of him being relatively similar never crosses his mind. At night he wonders if you really love Oikawa, or his lookalike.

LEV- Out Like a Light By The Honeysticks, repeat rewind

An unreviewed annotation says that this song is about a guy not being able to move on completely after a breakup. Imagine Lev trying to mend the broken string between you two, desperately clinging onto hope that you still love him like he does you. Imagine.

On the very first day, 3 of October, they shot clip ‘Samedi 14h34 - Pas si hétéro que ça’ from ep 2 [sources x & x]

At projection on 19th of April David said they shot clip ‘Samedi 14h32 – Intervention’ from ep 7 on the second day [source x]

3d day of shooting turned out a busy week for everyone, because we got the legendary Samedi 9h17 from ep 5, then ‘VODKAAAAA’ sequence following 3 clips from ep 9: 'Dimanche 16h34 - Je gère pas là', 'Dimanche 19h25 - La vérité' and 'Dimanche 20h41 - Un peu de vodka' AND also minute by minute scene, which is ‘Lundi 17h21 - On verra bien non?’ from ep 10. p.s. ‘minute by minute’ scene was shot right before ‘samedi 9h17′ [sources x & x & x & x]

6th day was pretty intense, because they shot Elu's 1st kiss (clip 'Vendredi 20h27 - Le premier’ of ep 4, then Elu's 2d reunion in ep 9 which is clip 'Vendredi 20h27 - T'es plus tout seul', and also Lucas' desperate run towards Eliott, when he almost got hit by a car [sources x & x]

The boat sequence aka clip that hurts like hell was shot on the 8th day (‘Vendredi 19h25 - Tu me fais confiance non ?’ and ‘Vendredi 23h37 - Une putain de lubie’ from ep 8). [source x]

The magnificent painting scene, which are clips ‘Vendredi 18h14 - Faudrait savoir mec’ and ‘Vendredi 18h35 - Ça compte pas’ from ep 7, was shot on the 16th day [sources x & x]

Clips without particular date of filming. It’s known that they shot everything by location, and so David confirmed that clips from s3 ‘Vendredi 18h53 - On aime bien chelou’, ‘Vendredi 16h07 - Avec des petites meufs au calme’, ‘Jeudi 17h32 - C'est pas des adieux’ and clip ‘Vendredi 22h47 - La meilleure personne que je connaisse’ from s4 were shot on 1 day [source x]

Also here are some interesting facts (well known and random):

David was the one who came up with the idea for the s3 trailer – the one with Eliott seeing Lucas on his 1st day in school [source x]

Axel was the one who suggested for Lucas to play piano before it was even written in the script, tho Niels also eventually came up with this idea. Quoting Niels ‘this cheeky bastard’ xD [source x] Axel made a playlist of songs, sent it to David and he chose the most complicated one. It took 2 months for Axel to learn it [source x]

Niels is the one who came up with a raccoon as Eliott’s spirit animal [source x]

The whole cast did a month preparation before filming seasons 3 & 4

Shooting of seasons 3 & 4 started on 3 of October 2018 and finished on 23 of November 2018 [sources x & x]

Maxence and Axel found out about the location of Elu’s first kiss 10 minutes before actual shooting [source x]

According to Niels Axel changed a bit Lucas’ line from ‘it’s good to hear you laugh’ to ‘you’re handsome when you laugh’ in the clip ‘Lundi 17h21 - On verra bien non?’ from ep 10

At projection on 22 of February David said they have bloopers at least 3 hours long [source x]

Before approaching to Eliott’s character Maxence wrote a letter to him, moreover draw a picture of him, adding notes about his personality [source x]

Lucas running to Eliott took 2 takes just because Axel ran too fast, so the minivan with camera had to catch him up all the time. Also a guy from the staff was supposed to inform him about the car, but he forgot, so Axel’s reaction is real [sources x & x]

Cast didn’t get to see clips before actual release. They discovered everything just as we did [source x]

SKAM FRANCE is Maxence’s first acting job

David was the one who took Maxence’s and Axel’s pants off because it was too slippery to do it for themselves [source x]

Maxence broke his foot just 2 days before first meeting and auditioning with Axel [sources x & x & x]

Cast mostly wore their own clothing. Eliott’s famous brown jacket actually belongs to Maxence, and the ‘romance’ hoodie belongs to Axel [sources x & x]

Maxence hadn’t seen og SKAM and didn’t want to, because he wanted to create his own ‘Even’ [source x]

Polaris takes place in La Petite Ceinture, the church from ep 9 is Notre Dame du Rosaire in Saint Ouen, the Japanese restaurant in the corner of Eliott’s place is at 270 rue du Faubourg Saint Antoine. More about s3 famous places can be found here [x]

David said that the hardest scene to direct was Lucas opening up to Mika and Manon in ep 7 clip ‘Samedi 14h32 – Intervention’ [source x]

Tho we didn’t get to know what was the hardest scene to shoot in season 4, but David said it was Laïs first day on set and ‘conditions around Imane and Sofiane were an actual nightmare’ [source x]

The priest from ep 9 is actually Lula’s dad. His name is François Frapier. Moreover, Lula and Niels were extras for this scene [sources x & x & x]

Speaking of cameos, Alban Etienne, who is David’s producer, can be seen in trailer for season 3. Check it for yourself: Alban / trailer

The show got feedback from international fans much earlier than from French audience [source x]

The last shot scene from s3 is the one where le crew along with Lucas are taking the couch from that creepy store in clip ‘Mercredi 13h37 - Tu le kiffes en fait’ from ep 6

Also in that clip Axel had to wear fake eyelashes since he cut his own [source x] 

The last sequence to film from s4, which also wrapped up the whole shoot, was ‘Aïd Moubarak’ and it was ruined by Laïs, because he couldn’t stop laughing for 15 minutes, and of course got scolded by David. According to Laïs and Assa it was Moussa’s fault [sources x & x]

Paul Scarfoglio, actor who played Basile, improvised his famous line ‘check de gang’ (‘gang high five’) [source x]

Moussa and David had known each other even before SKAM France. Moussa attended casting for one of David’s projects, but didn’t make it [source x]

Filming Elu’s 1st kiss took 40 technicians [source x]

Kimiko: Bouncy and energetic things honestly, I’d say Pop mostly. And like, songs like “Happy” or “Can’t Stop The Feeling”, you know Feel-Good-Songs.

Hiroshi: I feel Hiroshi would kind off like me be a bit lost if you ask him about his favorite music genre. He mainly listens to soft and calming songs with a nice message. He does like Feel-Good-Songs as well though. And also likes Classical Japanese music. 

Kaori: R&B and Alternative mostly I feel. She has a secret soft spot for Bollywood music though. 

Mika: Latin Pop mostly. She mainly likes things you can dance to. However Rock is up her alley as well. 

Lola: Heavy Metal. She does surprisingly like Pop and stuff, but Heavy Metal is her soul. 

Mona: TECHNO !!! It’s what she listens to 99.99% of the time. 

Takayuki: Rock 100%, he can scream along to that. His favorite song is TNT by ACDC. 

Kazuo: Really sappy romance song mostly. He also likes Operas though while also finding enjoyment in Takayuki’s rock. (Honestly, Kazuo can listen to everything)

Chieko: Instrumental things mostly. Video Game Soundtracks or Movie Soundtracks that calm her down. 

Yasu: Another Rock Candidate. Plus Alternative. Extra points to the song if it’s edgy. (He’d be into “Bring Me Back To Life”, yes)

Hideyoshi: Pop, Boybands, 90s and also K-Pop honestly. He especially likes when he can party. He also really loves Rap though. 

Daisuke: RETRO STUFF THATS OLDER THAN HIM. I headcanon his dad to be mostly into 50s and 60s. Daisuke enjoys that too, but his heart mostly belongs to the music of the 70s and 80s. 

Hiraku: Hiraku has high tolerance in music as well and can listen to a ton of things. Alternative, Rock and EDM would mostly be his stuff. He’s also proud if he’s the only one to know a song honestly. 

Akio: Classical music or soft things. Like Kaori, he also has a soft spot for Bollywood songs. 

Suzume: 80S THINGS SHE CAN PUT ON HER AEROBIC PLAYLIST. Okay, no. Honestly Suzume has a very broad sense of music taste and can listen to a lot. She mostly likes energetic things. And of course, MEME SONGS. So she is very fond of the 90s honestly. 

Shigeo: Jazz. JAZZ. It’s his soul and he always listens to it when alone and working. (Funfact: Kei hates Jazz)

Noboru: Given his inner conflict, he does like Classical Japanese Music as well as French Chansons. (Honestly he’s also into Alternative and Rock though)

Kiyoko: J-Pop and K-Pop, I think. Would defiantly be into Vocaloid (is that a genre?). Classical Japanese Music is also something she loves.

Masashi: Classical. European and Japanese. 

Ran: Operas! She can actually also sing Operas. 

Moe: Given how much she loves ballets, Classical Music. From Ballets. Her favorite tune is “The Sugar Plum Fairy” from The Nutcracker (Which is also her favorite ballet).

Kei: Rap. Hardcore Gangster Rap. Nene is screeching, Masashi calls it “sinful”. Kei also likes rock. Honestly when you enter his room he’s most likely playing video games or loudly listens to Rap or Rock. 

Ayano: Uhm, music box music? Old Carnival Music? Rather creepy stuff honestly. And Children Songs.

Yoshiko: Rock and Celtic Music. A weird mix but both make her feel strong.

No but I’m pretty sure if I met AiAi in person I’d actually start crying in public with no way to stop and thus embarrassing myself for life.

I DO. Just like how I have a Maya sticker and keychain, I have a matching set for Claudine. All courtesy of Mika herself :] She regrets giving it to me since she loves Claudine too HAHAHAHA. Dw Mika if I find any in Japan I’ll mail them to you 😘

4. what about their personality i like

In the anime she’s a very passionate and warmhearted person. Besides with Maya, Claudine is pretty (she’s really pretty) fun to hang around and will tease the other girls like how she sang that funny song about Karen and whispered all seductively in Mahiru’s ear to greet her.

But she’s also hard working and willing to help out others like how she gave Futaba private coaching lessons on tap dancing and gosh I wish she was my friend.

She’s still nice to Mahiru kind of in the stage play but I think she’s more condescending. Which she isn’t in the anime so.

5. what about their backstory makes me emotional

Now that I think about it, Claudine is the typical gifted kid who excelled at a young age but then became average once she got older. Okay well Claudine still shines brighter than most stage girls but how she feels about her own frequent losses toward Maya does parallel a lot to gifted children who feel like they’re not performing well enough once they grow old enough where that level of capability is required. The nice thing is that Claudine’s pretty stubborn and her determination is amazing which is why she caught Maya’s eye I’m sure.

The other thing I sometimes think about is how much she was noticed as a “child actress” was influenced by the fact that she’s half white. I’m not actually sure how it works in Japan specifically, but I know being happa (half white half something else) is usually something favorable and easily noticeable. Maybe even scouted to be child celebrities (not that I’m talking from experience or anything...) And that the reason why Claudine is mainly known as a “child” actress and not much after is because that was her prime and once she grew older that initially cute charm wore off...

BUT NO THAT CAN’T BE RIGHT LOOK HOW FUCKING PRETTY SHE IS I’D STILL CONTINUE HIRING HER

And plus she’s super talented enough to get into the renown and elite Seisho without fear or trouble so NAH IT’S ALL CLAUDINE’S OWN CAPABILITIES NONE OF THAT CHILDHOOD CHARM SHIT THAT WORE OFF BS. STUPID BRAIN YOU OVERTHINK.

I think that moment in episode 10 when Maya and Claudine are stretching and Claudine recounts her first meeting with Maya, expecting her to not remember but Maya says, “I remember. Of course I do.” And Claudine’s eyes widen and she thanks her in French ugh.

AiAi mentioned it too but Claudine at that point hadn’t thought that Tendou Maya had even looked at her outside of the stage. So just realizing that Maya had regarded her even back then is something that makes her happy.

I really appreciate how supportive she is with Futaba. She even let Futaba stay over in her room when Futaba and Kaoruko were having their lover’s spat. And Futaba was also the one who knocked Claudine out of her funk.

Futaba even knows Claudine enough that she immediately guesses that Maya is the reason why Claudine’s upset. “Did something happen with Tendou? Only she can make you make a face like that.”

Lighten up on the tsundereness will ya? Well, it is pretty prominent in her character especially when Maya is involved, so I usually let it slide.

I’m happy that she isn’t condescending in the anime like she is in the stage play. She could’ve been the alpha bitch that Maya (mostly) wasn’t, but she’s genuinely kind and helpful and she’s also so pretty and stubborn and hard working and god you are too good to be true.

To be honest I don’t even know why I like Maya more. Claudine hits all the points for me too and yet stupid chikidon ranks higher what the actual fuck.

Also, I like how we can infer from the Overture manga that Claudine lived a relatively relaxed childhood. Her parents seem to be super supportive of her and didn’t push her into acting. It was her own interest that got her in, and her own interest that continues to drive her. That’s how parents should be when their kids want to do something.

They sent her potato chips from the company she did a commercial for oh gosh that’s so sweet.

15. what i dont like about the way canon portrayed them

I often feel like she gets shafted compared to some of the other characters. But then again, RS does a pretty decent job giving all 9 Butai Shoujo a chance to shine.

Oh, that’s cute! The first song I heard by Green Day was actually Oh, Love when I was like twelve because it was always on the radio but I only discovered it was theirs after I started listening to them! The first song I heard conscient that it was by Green Day was American Idiot because a very likable and funny Italian girl in my English class in Galway made me listen to it and from that moment on I went on discovering more and more amazing songs that the band played! I think I had probably heard Vieni A Ballare In Puglia more than once as a kid and then I discovered all his other songs which always left me like I had learnt something new??? And everything he writes has a great power of impact and I wish I could see him live

How did you get into 10?

Ok, confession time: I did not know about Fabrizio Moro before the Eurovision. Like, I had obviously listened to Pensa before but everything I remembered about the song was my idiot cousin substituting the verb in the line “prima di sparare, pensa” (before you shoot, think)  with every verb he thought fitting, leading to embarassing results such as “prima di sc**are, pensa” (”before you f**k, think”, which, alright, you have to think about the fact that you have to use protections and not force yourself on your partner but I don’t really think responsible sexual engagement was what my at the time ten-year-old cousin had in mind) and the ever question-inducing “prima di pensare, pensa” (Schroedinger’s Fabrizio) so as you can imagine I didn’t really think much of this song.

Being the little rebel I am (SONO UN RIBELLE MAMMA ITALIA NON STARE SVEGLIA A LETTO NELLA STANZA CUCIMI LE BORCHIE SULLO SCHOTT), I think I have never seen Sanremo, except maybe for the final of the 2017 edition because I loved Ermal’s Vietato Morire and I was So Enraged when Gabbani won (bc I had not really seen throught the infamous ape costume and only after the Eurovision I discovered what the song really was about) and so I Had To cheer for Ermal until the very end (no, that was not a conscious Harry Potter reference. I am sorry.) BUT I didn’t watch the 2018 edition (also becasuse of the scandal - I don’t like gossip). So basically the first time I saw Fabrizio’s face was in some interview about the upcoming Eurovision and I was like “who the hell is that guy?” other than asking myself “and why is he so hot?”. The second question quickly turned into “and why the hell had I never heard of him before?” When, upon a long and hard research (I asked my mother lmao), I discovered that he had not, in fact, popped up like a fresh flower that year, I started listening to his songs and... I think the rest is history?

woke -imane being concerned for lucas.. I love this song -even tho I have my reservations abt mika I thought the pride clip was well done -lucas punching the couch! and the wall! show us his temper -supportive king yann oh man :’) -axel. the ACTING LEGEND jumped out -the directing has improved so much since the first ep and I especially like the slightly shaky handheld (?) way of filming they’re utilizing (like og!)

broke -I thought the samedi clip was nice but I wouldve liked a little more conversation? idk (omg and the spinning camera and dramatic ass piano..) -clip w the girls added literally nothing to the plot. like why didnt they cut the fat from that and give more time to the locker scene lol -the locker clip.. man. it was so rushed, and made a lot of weak leaps between topics (i.e. no transition into discussing lucas’s parents? keep in mind they never talked about them on saturday). and eliott kissing lucas in broad daylight??? uh? -heartbreaking (and weird?) timing of eliott texting lucas right after lucas told him he came out to his roommate.. PLUS eliott straight up told him he wanted another relationship right away so like #rip -rlly wanted to see divergence from og in this ep. when i say i want to see changes, i mean major plot points and scenes!! changing that is what makes it interesting yknow

other -I hope that eliott skipping school/snapping in class/etc isn’t just throwaway stuff (i.e. skam fr being v on the nose again and using those to highlight eliott’s MI instead of how og did it in subtle ways that we havent seen- like “the only way to escape your thoughts is to die”) & we find out more about it. imo eliott seems to be more vulnerable and worse at hiding his emotions than even. we don’t see him with friends (he went to the foyer to meet ppl aw) and avoidance seems to be a coping mechanism (did u mean me?? honestly him skipping school so often is #toorelatable bc thats what my depressed ass did all of gr 12). -I’ve noticed that skam france is very.. un skam-like. its definitely not as realistic, what w the directing choices + lack of subtlety + some dialogue/characters + straying from lucas’s POV + the dramatic ass music + all the PR. that being said, I’m still enjoying it! but it doesn’t really feel like skam if that makes sense. -k I actually like the PR solely bc I really love the whole cast?? but what we AINT gonna do is all the shipping i see on ig like let them live and have a rlly lovely friendship p l e a s e -also random but watching skam fr is bringing back all my french to me which is 10/10 bc I can actually understand half of what they’re saying, wild

Since my SI’s from the moon I’m not really sure what a Lunar language would sound like, I do imagine her mother speaking an equivalent to French but again it’s not actually French, just French sounding. I’m thinking Mika has picked up a bit of that accent. But short answer is I’m not sure, I need to do more thinking on that.

She does believe in ghosts considering she has come across them especially in various Pokemon verses, and of course she believes in aliens because she is one herself!

First wish: All her F/Os to be happy forever

Second wish: All her F/Os to love her forever

Third wish: To never stop loving them.

6 .Does your self insert have any kind of catchphrase?

Not really.

7. What’s your self insert’s opinion on fidget spinners?

She thinks they’re OK, she doesn’t rly get the hype.

8. If your self insert was haunted by a historical figure, who would it be?

TBH IDK but the first name that popped into my head was Marie Antoinette… I guess we could spin this into the fact that oh hey, Celestia Ludenberg rly did become Marie Antroinette, died again and now she’s hanging with Mika because…. why not??? They’d be friends??? Mika’s more friends with the nicer of the DR cast but she thinks her fashion is pretty!

9. Does your self insert have any rivals? Who?

Def Totoko. I always feel like it would work out like the Kin-chan episode where the Matsus give Mika their full attention and Totoko’s just all alone being gross and bitter, and most likely stalking them if they all go out on a group date. Other than that Mika is pretty chill and usually gets along with everyone. 

10. What does your self insert smell like?

She smells a lot like lavender! 

11. What’s your self insert’s favorite movie?

She likes Bambi a lot! She’s super over the initial death of the mother since she’s seen it a bunch so she appreciates it for the cuteness and the art. 

12. Does your self insert want/have tattoos?

I don’t think you can tattoo fur so she’s not rly into it. 

13. What’s your self insert’s choice of weapon in a crisis?

I like to think her go to weapon is like a magical girl version of a chainsaw. Of course since she usually inhabits peaceful verses she doesn’t use it very much.

14. Does your self insert play any sports?

Not particularly. She tried tennis once and she wasn’t very good at it. 

15. What would your self insert’s fursona be?

She is her fursona! She was originally a kemonomimi but I upgraded her to fursona status because it felt more right, plus I got better at drawing so I could draw snouts and paws and stuff.

16. What does your self insert always keep in the fridge?

Bamboo, pineapple and a lot of bamboo and pineapple flavored snacks and drinks.

17. Does your self insert consider themselves religious?

Nope, there’s really no religion on the moon so that’s a no.

18. What’s your self insert’s D&D alignment?

Uh… neutral good. i guess? IDK I’ve never played D&D. .3.;

19. What would your self insert do if they won the lottery?

Depends on what lottery considering lotteries in Japan have different prizes other than money but I assume we’re going with cash. She splits it seven ways with the sextuplets so they can go play and do whatever. She gives the rest of her money to Chibita so she can try and pay off their huge tab. 

20. Does your self insert collect anything?

She collects plushies and panda merchandise.

21. Is your self insert a cat or a dog person? 

She likes both!

22. What kind of dressing does your self insert put on their salad? 

Honey mustard for regular salads and raspberry sauce for fruit salads.

23. What does your self insert dream about?

Not much, she usually has dreamless sleep with some nightmares and or weird forgettable dreams sprinkled in.

24. What Pokemon would your self insert be?

A Pancham of course! Pangoro is not her style, she loves the panda look but she doesn’t like how manly it is. I’m hoping one day there’s like a cuter feminine panda evolution. Kinda like a Buneary/Lopunny and Bunnelby/Diggersby parallel.

25. What does your self insert like on their pizza?

Pineapple, banana peppers and bamboo grass. Though, bamboo grass isn’t a common order so she’s usually fine with the first two toppings.
