Uchiha Madara somehow reminds me of Oda Nobunaga, an audacious daimyo in Warring States period in Japan, who wanted to unify the whole country.
I've heard that Nobunaga was interested in hawks, which was the same as Madara (from Kishimoto's databook), though I'm unsure if it's a reliable source. Besides, Oda Nobunaga was touted as "Paranimmitavasavatti", indicating his ambitious and conqueror-like personality, which also resemble to Madara.
In my own fanfic, I'll depict Madara with some characteristics of Oda Nobunaga, though he's just a side character in my story whose main characters are Uchiha Kagami and Senju Tobirama.
Plus, honestly, I don't think the essential reason that Madara wanted to "end the world" was his bro Izuna's death, though he did deeply hurt due to Izuna's death. After all, aside from Hashirama, Madara was the other legendary shinobi in history. He used to think about the revolution of shinobi's world. In this case, he did have ambitions. I really feel sick about the saying that Madara wanted to destroy the world because of Izuna..I don't think he's that spineless and sentimental...Senju Hashirama was a respectful god-like shinobi, so I really couldn't believe his long-term rival was just a sentimental shonen who moaned his bro's death fucking badly..
Well, I also think Madara could be categorized into the Lawful Evil type.
