The Kang Mansion has a massive garden + it's near a body of water and a forest so I just know that in summer Kang Yohan is not only fighting his own demons, he's also fighting roaches and mosquitoes

every time quinn mentions cory on feeds, cory gets like 12 people in his replies calling him all sorts of dumb names, and when he replies to be like “you’re a loser and a poser” people were like “how dare you use your platform to dogpile a toc (tweeter of color)” maybe don’t quote tweet him calling him and his girlfriend a bitch every time quinn is like “i wanted to do a fashion show like cory & blue did bc i’m bored and that seemed like fun” then??
anyways i hope cory & kevin jacobs & quinn link up after the show, i think it’s sweet to see super fans inspiring other super fans to finally take the leap and apply! i hope one day we get someone who was inspired by fe & america being super fans who got on and had a fun time, we need more lady super fans!

In Which Life Imitates Art (or something like that)
As some of you know, @sufficientlylargen and I are dealing with never-ending pipe leaks, water damage, and mold issues that seem to follow us from apartment to apartment, and now to the house we just bought. In trying to craft a somewhat confrontational text to the plumber responsible for some of the damage (and wondering if there were fictional characters I could channel to make it sufficiently confrontational 🤣), I suddenly remembered that back in 2016/2017, I'd actually written a several-chapter-long plot point into Harboured and Encompassed (my novel length Horatio Hornblower fic) where Horatio's kitchen is destroyed by a pipe leak (aka. my modern AU adaptation of when his ship springs a leak and sinks because the rice it was carrying expanded and ripped the ship apart).
I'm laughing very hard about this right now, and am very amused by the idea that I cursed myself to have perpetual pipe problems by writing this. :D
So I figured that it would be fun to share the relevant scenes (which should make enough sense out of context) in case anyone wanted to join me in laughing about this. (And I miss my fictional navy boys, so I might as well get them back on my Tumblr :D)
If you've read H&E before, enjoy the nostalgia! If you've only ever read my MLC stuff and want to check it out, welcome! :D

Song of the Day: December 18
“On the Steps of the Palace" from Stephen Sondheim's best musical "Into the Woods" (I'm partial to the original Broadway cast recording, but the 2002 revival is also good)

Harrow the ninth is great for me, someone who spent the entirety of Gideon the ninth going I don’t really care what Gideon thinks about all this I want to hear harrow’s thoughts as she summons so many skeletons that she passes out on the floor

i've never seen the show so idk if the severance people know about this but one of my coworkers in the break room at lunch today was talking about how he had just started watching it and really enjoying it and he realized that they were filming in a building that he used to work in (the bell labs building, he said it was "the most exciting place in the world to work at if you were a scientist back in the day" btw). anyway, he said that he loved working there but that the interior architecture of the building in like the central part of the building felt like a prison lol. sorry if show watchers already knew this but i thought if not that you might appreciate knowing it

Pro tip for anyone who lives in a building with a toilet: if the plunger isn't working, and you're tempted to leave the clog until the morning, make sure the water isn't still flowing into the bowl.
And make sure it's not on the ground floor of a two-story house, with a communal plumbing pipe that is now clogged deep enough for any water upstairs to come out that toilet.
...
Related tips:
Carpet that has been soaked in poo water cannot be cleaned by human hands, even with one of those steamer machines.
Drywall that has been soaked in poo water will need to have a one-foot "flood cut" carved into it, to remove the damaged area.
You know that part in ET where the house is covered in tarps because Biohazard™? The water damage people will need to recreate that, with zipper doorways and industrial dehumidifier fans roaring day and night for 3-5 days.
Cats can and will climb inside any holes in the wall. Yes, even that one. Yes, they can climb upward too.
Homeowner's insurance is GREAT.
This little misadventure will cost upwards of $17,000 to fix (but we only have to pay $1000 of it). That's still an expensive clot of toilet paper.
In other news, our new carpet is going to be a different color, and that's exciting.

so the customer service rep that told us "you could dig it up yourself, you'll just be fined for damaging the street!" also told alana that she submitted the report and it would be 3 to 7 business days so alana was like "you understand our sewer is not connected at all and this is impeding our legal right to sanitary waste disposal right? we need this expedited please" and the lady got real quiet for a minute and said "okay i'll note that too" and now two hours later we have four guys and a big truck out there digging up the street. hmmmmm
