Pro tip for anyone who lives in a building with a toilet: if the plunger isn't working, and you're tempted to leave the clog until the morning, make sure the water isn't still flowing into the bowl.

And make sure it's not on the ground floor of a two-story house, with a communal plumbing pipe that is now clogged deep enough for any water upstairs to come out that toilet.

Carpet that has been soaked in poo water cannot be cleaned by human hands, even with one of those steamer machines.

so the customer service rep that told us "you could dig it up yourself, you'll just be fined for damaging the street!" also told alana that she submitted the report and it would be 3 to 7 business days so alana was like "you understand our sewer is not connected at all and this is impeding our legal right to sanitary waste disposal right? we need this expedited please" and the lady got real quiet for a minute and said "okay i'll note that too" and now two hours later we have four guys and a big truck out there digging up the street. hmmmmm

i had a line in one of the drafts of the fic chapter posted yesterday about luz having woken up once to amity watching HER sleep even though luz does her best not to look at amity at all whatsoever bc she's convinced that desire is poison or whatever. i ended up cutting it not so much because i thought it was too weird as bc i was like okay amity needs at least SOME way to escape edward cullen allegations. but i am still thinking about it.

the thing compelling me most is that amity wouldn't even watch luz sleep in a desiring or crush-like way she's just like. [with the laser focus of a scientist watching a bug] why do you make me feel things. if i apply enough scientific analysis to the way you breathe and look really soft and vulnerable rn then i'll hack my own physiology and fix it. this will not backfire in any way whatsoever
