I’ve got kinda ideas for s12 rewrite but I wanna hear other opinions. How would you deal with addressing Jay’s mum’s status. Is she alive or dead? I feel like both routes repeats Ray, Maya, and Lilly’s storylines. I feel like it should be reflective or foil Unagami and Dyer’s relationship, and I’m juggling themes of escapism as well as overbearing-ness. But idk how Libber or whatever her name would’ve been fits in especially as the next two seasons already explores dead mums and recently recovered mums.

All Ik about her is that she married Cliff Gordon, went on a honeymoon, had Jay, and left Cliff presumably because of his womanising nature, and probably took Jay with her before giving him to Ed and Edna before disappearing. Although that last part is a lot of maybes and is backed up by Tommy Twitter so we could get creative and what if Libber and Cliff got over their problems but then lost Jay during idk war??? Oh man what if the reason Libber is gone is because she went looking for Jay. That’s really sad actually. But idk how itd fit into s2, it’s just a suggestion.

We can infer that Libber’s relationship issues are a reference to Jay’s, in that they both semi lost their relationships due to competition and jealousy (the s3 love triangle and the idea that Cliff probably flirted with other ppl). I’m sure Libber probably shares Jay’s traits of loving too intensely and possibly also disappearing (s12 and yknow…).

But yeah idk how id write libber without it being just like Lily or Maya. I mean I like the idea that Jay learns more about her but her current whereabouts are uncertain but idk if that really closes that story arc for her. Also I can’t even have her be alive and then kill her in the season because that’s literally Garmadon (jk the reason I wouldn’t do that is because ouchhh. I mean I guess it’s still on the table but it feels cheap to establish a character and kill them immediately).

So how would you guys do it? Or is there anything that should be taken into account with Jay’s birth mum?
