as someone who is sex repulsed (and is picky with romance in media) i just feel kind of annoyed overall with the lack of asexual representation in SC/CC

uni was (is?) aegosexual and hemera is aro/ace, but like.. idk i know it is a spectrum but i don’t feel represented, it feels like a lot of it is swept under the rug to make way for lots and lots of shipping opportunities because that apparently makes up 90% of the plot -_-

hello 🏴‍☠️ yes if im remembering correctly uni is supposed to be aegosexual but its annoying because throughout the volumes this is never seen its hung in front of the audience to make them feel represented but the second it actually comes to writing the character becomes a sex joke vessel and not just that but uni has an arousal state because of her horn anytime its rainbow shes horny and its a lot especially with barry degrading uni and honestly genuinely the (canonical) fetishization of this character that is supposed to be the one of 2 or 3 ace spectrum is honestly sickening like if we only saw this on external stuff or fan art or could be just said as jokes but the fact it happens in comic just completely ignores this canon as for hemera i dont know if shes ever sexualized to the same extent as i dont go through as much hemera content (and hemera not being a kc favorite) but the fact shes one of very few aromantic rep and in cc she has 5 ''queer platonic relationships'' with a child just shows a blatant misunderstanding of how it works or its even possible that kc has cherrypicked instances of aromanticism and asexuality so that they could fit neatly into buns personal ideal world for everyone or its a genuine misunderstanding of the concept but i feel as if both of these could be easily resolved with some research or even listening to those actually on the aroace spectrum but squeak isnt a fan of criticism so she will probably never see the flaws in her characters i made a longer post hemera earlier too so im not too sure if i want to sit here and retype all the same points but i agree with the idea that sexual and romantic preferences are swept under just to make room for cute ships in kittycorns mind which just sucks especially when some relationships don't even feel like they would fit seriously hemera and barry doesnt make since -uni

Obsessions are now canon but in a way I like. I feel obsessions being called that rubs me the wrong way, I don't like it being their sole identity but now it feels more like. A degrading from them losing their humanity but it can be fixed from being helped.

Love love love the focus of going from "beat the shit out of ghosts so they stop" to "we can still do that but we're also going to HELP them as our main focus"

It's much more nuances and endearing to me. Aid the dead. Help then remember who they were- who they ARE still. That's the good shit. Gimme that.

Small tangent: I don't like that dan was just called Phantom cause I want Danny to be called that when people don't know his human identity. Selfish but I was disappointed LOL just call the man Dan pls. Yes I know that's phandom but still.

In my ideal world (assuming it doesn't like. Fund you know who) I want a fresh reboot but it keeps the core parts of what the graphic novel established. Give me a gen 2 version that's not weighed down by all the old lore honestly. I LIKE that the graphic novel continued and fixed things but I want a show that does it from the start.

It really depends on how profitable and how willing nickelodeon is about this IP. They have it now, they reboot it they want. I'm not sure I WANT an actual reboot or not cause who knows? Maybe it'd be bad in new ways. Maybe it'd kill off the fandom (though I doubt it)

Tho these concerns, hopes and fears are also just so.. surreal? The show ended like at least 15 years ago? Not going to look it up cause I don't wanna feel old. The very idea that this show has a future to think about at all is bizarre. It's like what the fuck are you doing in my house. (My house that is an abandoned house that a bunch of ghosts have moved into. That is the phandom)
