Thank you for asking! I'll definitely answer all of them lol! I will start with Alison though.

Alison:

Alison/Aria:

Whether I ship it or not: Yes of course, I frequently go insane about them, as you know! They're almost always in my top 5 if not top 3 ships ever.

Why I ship it or not: I just think they have a fascinating dynamic! Aria being the liar Ali has the least contentious relationship with and also the one she clearly admires and views as an equal is never not interesting to me. I also think Aria understands Ali in a really unique way, like through stories and myth-making, which is Ali's bread and butter.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I will go to my grave maintaining that canon Alison had/has feelings for Aria and while it's all subtextual I do think there's a ton of evidence for that interpretation. It gets a little harder to argue Aria returns her romantic feelings but I don't view it as impossible - Aria's preoccupation with villains - especially her not wanting her villain to lose before she even knows about Ezra - definitely suggests a little ambiguity in her taste.

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): There isn't really a ton of fanon on them, which is a shame. If anything I wish more people shipped them, they have so much potential. My favorite headcanon is that Alison and Aria were hooking up pre-canon.

Alison/Emily:

Whether I ship it or not: Yes but definitely not as intensely as most people do.

Why I ship it or not: Mean girls and the girls who love them are just always going to be interesting to me.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Obviously they are an endgame ship that gets divorced so that answers that. I will say I'm not crazy about how they became canon - it seems very clear to me that the show runners were not thrilled with them as endgame so I think they're written rather cruelly.

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I don't really like the "Alison is only bisexual for Emily" headcanon that I see often. It's just kind of boring to me.

Alison/Hanna:

Whether I ship it or not: Oh definitely!

Why I ship it or not: The doppelganger vibes alone are *chef's kiss* I will never not ship doppelcest, but also Hanna being the "nicer" version of Alison is a vibe unto itself. "It used to be easier to tell us apart" LOSING IT

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I maintain that all pll female characters are a little queer but I'm also willing to admit I'm a tad biased. I do think Ashley and Sasha hav good chemistry though!

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): Another ship I don't see a ton of people shipping, unfortunately! Ship Alison DiLaurentis with more women!!!!

Alison/Spencer:

Whether I ship it or not: Another one where I definitely ship it but I think more people are into it than I am.

Why I ship it or not: "You deserve a decent sister, Spence," Ali says, and then she proceeds to be the worst sister this side of Charlotte Drake. What's not to ship?

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): This is one that I don't necessarily want in canon, I just wanna watch them interact forever. Oh also "Practice is always better than the real thing"!?!??! AND THE SLOW DANCE, that's gay, girls!!!

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I will admit I am not as into rivalry ships as some people, which is probably why they don't hit quite as hard for me.

Alison/Mona:

Whether I ship it or not: Honestly I think the answer is yes for all of these ships, there's very little I don't ship amongst the female characters in pll.

Why I ship it or not: I mean, Mona tried to kill Alison, helped her fake her death and run away, and then she built a whole new Alison in the form of Hanna...how could I not I ask again!!!

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): On the Mona side I definitely think it's real. They are extremely married and dysfunctional in the perfectionists too! Maybe my favorite thing about the existence of that show is that it makes the argument for Alison having feelings for Mona too very well.

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): People don't talk shit enough about the fact that the best derogatory nickname Alison could come up with for Mona was Loser Mona - compared to Hermie and Pigskin it's downright affectionate and I think that's hilarious.

Aria:

Aria/Emily:

Whether I ship it or not: Oh most definitely, an incredibly underrated dynamic imo.

Why I ship it or not: Their interactions in the pilot are some of my favorite, it always feels like two girls mourning their first love which is a Vibe as a ship imo.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Unlikely in the sense of they were never actually gonna let all the girls be gay but all of the girls were gay and in love with each other so!

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I do see that the general consensus is that they are underrated and I'm glad because they are! I like to headcanon that Aria had a girlfriend in Iceland and is very nonchalant about the whole thing, so much so that she forgets to come out to her friends and Emily gets mad when she finally finds out that this whole time she thought she was the only queer one lol.

Aria/Hanna:

Whether I ship it or not: Yes, definitely!

Why I ship it or not: I think they have great banter and it's so fun to watch, lol

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): It's the same every time, compulsive heterosexuality forces me to say no when the answer really should be yes!!!

Why I ship it or not: I think Mona deserves to find out why Alison picked Aria, bc it's gay and Mona deserves to be gay with all girls, especially liars.

Whether I ship it or not: The answer is a resounding yes.

Why I ship it or not: Hanna being offended that Emily isn't attracted to her is one of the gayer scenes in the show tbh. Also Hanna asking Emily what it was like to come out. God so many of their interactions are gay.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I think you can argue Hanna has a thing for Emily, even fighting against the compulsive heterosexuality. They have some of the heaviest subtextually queer moments too, like I said.

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I love that we all know Hanna wants to kiss Emily. They should've let her tbh.

Emily/Spencer:

Whether I ship it or not: Yes! One of my favorite dynamics in the show.

Why I ship it or not: They just give off extreme married couple energy. Also their fight when Spencer scares Alison off in season 4 is a shipper's dream tbh.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I think Spencer's (second) gayest interactions are with Emily! (gayest is Alison, ofc!) Compulsive heterosexuality is a blight on this show!!!

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I guess I realized I've seen very little about them in fandom which is a shame, they're very gay and underrated.

Emily/Mona:

Whether I ship it or not: Oh absolutely!

Why I ship it or not: Emily is to Alison what Mona is to Hanna and that makes them ridiculously shippable in my opinion. Mona being the worst version of Emily, for better or for worse.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I don't think they spend enough time on the parallels between them imo. But yeah canon won't let us have any fun.

My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): Again, we are not focusing enough on their similarities and that is a CRIME.

Whether I ship it or not: Oh unquestionably, might rival Spencer/Emily for my favorite Spencer ship.

Why I ship it or not: The fact that they're the only ones who stayed and are still friends in the pilot! And Hanna telling Spencer that not everything has to be about Melissa, which is a very "Hanna is the nice version of Alison" moment because it's something Alison has tried to convey before with her "You deserve a decent sister." moment but Alison is all teeth and claws about it, Hanna's version is so much more effective.

My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Again, compulsive heterosexuality is a blight, a scourge, a disease!!! Let women be gay together!!!

1/2: What was the first time you encountered canon/fanon femslash? How old were you? How did it make you feel?

Canon wise, I was a Pretty Little Liars girly. I was SO in love with Emily Fields and her girlfriends, and 10/11 year old me was smitten. Even then, it never occurred to me to seek out more content online? I was reading PLL fanfiction, but it was all ezria (Ezra Fitz/Aria Montgomery, a teacher/student thing that I thought was so romantic). I didn't actually see much fan content around wlw except some background ships in the drarry fanfic I read. I took a step into femslash fandom when I added past Narcissa/Lily to my lucissa fics at.. 14? but never really engaged much with other wlw content bc it made me feel Weird (even though I identified as bi at the time and was fine with that, the internalised homophobia was Strong) and I hated lesbian headcanons for a long time... not a good time. Then around 17 or so I found Extinction by @rubikanon which got me into cissamione overnight, and I think that is really what jumpstarted my love for femslash as a fandom section?? But even then, it's taken a while from then until the time I started really writing femslash fic regularly.

I'm about to turn 22 now, and I love femslash fandom with all my heart. But I'd say it's honestly really been the last? two years? That I've also let myself enjoy that wholeheartedly without feeling icky or ashamed around it. It's been a blast.

19: Thoughts about lesbian tragedy and bad endings?

Okay so I know that as a general trend, they're bad. I know the history of them, and I do very much oppose the idea that in order to tell an interesting lesbian story, the lesbians gotta die and be miserable. I wish we had more content where we lived and weren't hidden away while married to men, you know, absolutely. In terms of mass media, 100%.

That said.

I love it.

I love tragedy, I love tear-jerk stories where people die and can't be together, I love forbidden love, I love stories with infidelity. I love it regardless of if it's femslash or not. I think here though, my condition is that I love these stories, if they're about queer women being miserable, I want them told by queer women. Let us indulge in the stories of our own suffering when it's not a condition for our stories to exist in the first place.

Yes, mass media telling us our stories are worth telling only if we die, terrible and should not be a thing, I hate it. But god do I love a good tragedy.

20: Thoughts about (purely fictional!) lesbian unhealthy relationships?

All in favour of this, honestly. A lot of the femslash I personally write is actually quite wholesome compared to other ships I write? And I think part of it is that I'm legit kinda scared to indulge in darker content with femslash bc it feels like there's this Thing around femslash that it's supposed to be cute and wholesome to offset the mean evil dyke stereotypes around wlw. The darkest I get between women is a consensual age gap, whereas with ships like Sirius/Narcissa, I love exploring how genuinely fucked up a relationship can be. I'm more hesitant to do that with femslash, even though there's plenty of ships it could work for.

I like to read darker femslash, though, and I love the authors providing us with it. Maybe one day I'll actually be comfortable enough to let my sapphic characters be less than good and sad-at-worst.

4. amy/lucy diamond [d.e.b.s.] - this movie is classic camp perfection and this ship dynamic is EVERYTHING. and whats more, is no matter how silly this movie is, the core chemistry and romance are entirely genuine and believable and I think that's what makes this movie work so unbelievably well. ALSO THEY'RE SO CUTE!

5. amira/sadie [princess princess ever after] - this is the cutest fucking comic and the romance is ADORABLE and I love the aesthetics and the storyline for these girls so much. two such different princesses falling in such presh adorbs love with each other...... I adore them

I've never watched pretty little liars but tell me about your favourite pll femslash.

Hi I think I wrote half of a response to this a while ago but it got lost somewhere… starting over so I’m such a multi shipper between the pll women that I think it would be more appropriate to tell you my top 5 rn.

Vandermarin —- (Hanna Marin & Mona Vanderwaal)

I tried to choose pics from the pll wiki gallery for each of these dynamics I thought encapsulated the dynamic and its gayness as well as two random images can. In this case the image on the left is Mona lovingly visiting Hanna in the hospital after Mona herself drove a car over Hanna, because they fought/Mona is jealous that Hanna has affection for people who are not her and also Hanna was too close to uncovering her identity as A the nameless faceless entity that badly wants Hanna to break up with her boyfriend and leave her friends and only hang out with Mona but we’re meant to think Mona is straight…. and the right image is after Hanna has found out Mona’s identity at the evil mastermind to her troubles but she’s still visiting her ex wife in the mental asylum, and lying to her boyfriend about it and the show plays every beat of this like Hanna is cheating on her boyfriend. Insane. They’re the love story of pll because literally if Mona wasn’t obsessively unhealthily in love with Hanna the whole plot of the show would not have happened. An undersung toxic yuri queerbait for the history books I seriously think it’s deeply misogynistic they don’t get their due in this department. 

Spemily (Spencer Hastings & Emily Fields).

This is so funny to me because these two images perfectly encapsulate the dynamic. Either they are soo in sync getting coffee for each other and detecting murders together and stabilizing/calming each other, or they are having the Messiest fights and bickering/getting on each others nerves like a married couple going through their third divorce. I joke about them being adansey coded for this reason, also there’s a dynamic of a class difference and Emily/Adam call out Spencer/Gansey for it similarly and Spencer/Gansey being protective towards Emily/Adam in a way the latter doesn’t like or feels infringes on their autonomy. Great stuff, I have a type. And speaking of..

Monison (Mona Vanderwaal & Alison Dilaurentis)

There are other gay pictures of them interacting but I chose the left image as Mona cleaning the dirt off Alison, the girl who bullied her, after pulling her out of a grave (Alison was buried alive this night and it’s a whole thing but not really relevant to this post) and they’re in a motel in the lost woods. There’s another scene from this flashback that’s Mona kissing Alison’s forehead but I can’t find a cap anywhere (I also couldn’t find a cap of her kissing Hanna’s cheek the homophobia). The one on the right is Mona’s shrine to Alison that’s in her evil lair girl literally was so obsessed with and in love with girl who bullied her and wanted to wear her skin and also for her to stop existing and also to be loved by her and then she made the love of her life Hanna into her own personal Alison doll… wild stuff. They’re also a bit adansey coded imo (and Hanna/Alison didn’t make this list but they’re rather Jordanessy coded imo). They’re also really gay for each other on the spin off which is not a good show but did give me crumbs. 

Spona (Spencer Hastings & Mona Vanderwaal)

Sometimes / in the past this has been no.3 I’m just in a very Monison mood rn so it’s fourth rn. The left image is of their psychosexually charged debate scene and the right is Mona trying to get Spencer’s attention at a political rally. Will say no enough of their really gay scenes are appropriately represented in that wiki gallery but I did the best with what I had. Overachiever x Overachiever but one is an evil mirror of the other,  the actresses have a ridiculous amount of chemistry, there’s a whole arc where Mona wants to corrupt Spencer and is furious when Spencer “turns her down” and seeks to ruin her life so she has no choice to accept her… another toxic yuri of all time. They’re also my two favorite characters on the show individually (although I love all six of the main women) so that gives an extra something special to their scenes for me. 

Arison (Aria Montgomery & Alison Dilaurentis)

left image is a flashback to them eating frozen yogurt together while bullying Mona, right is Aria’s hallucination of Alison that she has when her father’s girlfriend who looks a bit like Alison and who Alison wanted Aria to tell her mother about Byron’s affair with poisons her, again sadly there were fewer images in the gallery for them but. This is a really fascinating relationship to me and one I wrote a fic about that Imran quite proud of when I first got into pll a couple years ago. Aria is the only one of Alison’s friends she treats kind of as an equal rather than a subject or a rival, she’s very fascinated by the way Aria lives freely rather than at the whims of other people and Alison develops an alter ego that looks a lot like Aria, Vivia Darkbloom. She also gets into a relationship with an older guy while acting a lot like Aria and then this same guy (who is a predator and groomer but the show never addresses these dynamics as such L) goes after Aria after Alison’s death. Also Alison secretly took pictures of Aria while she was sleeping and hid them places and when they were uncovered her brother makes a comment about how Alison always hid things and it was almost second nature to her don’t remember the exact quote but it reeks of internalized biphobia to me (Alison is canonically a bi character it’s just that the show defines her as only gay for one girl which is Emily and straight for everyone else which is insane but we won’t get into that). Anyway. They’re really underrated and interesting.

Words honestly cannot express the whirlwind of emotions that I currently have towards the fact that PLL is ending today. I’ve spent the better part of my late teen/early adult years growing up with this show, and today it’s finally time to say goodbye to this paramount chapter of my life - a chapter that has, quite honestly, helped me develop and shape myself into the person that I am today. Because even though it was just a show, every single one of those girls has taught me incredibly important things that I will carry with me, always.

Through Alison. I’ve learned that people can and do change, and that there’s good in everyone. I’ve learned that there can be so much more behind the facade a person puts on, and that everyone has a backstory behind why they are who they are, as well as how they became that way. Through Spencer, I’ve learned how to remain strong in the face of adversity, how to fight for what I believe in, and how to value my family above all else. Through Mona, I’ve learned not only that it’s okay to stand up for myself, but also how to be unapologetically badass while doing so. Through Hanna, I’ve learned to not let what others say define who I am and how I see myself when I look in the mirror. Through Aria, I’ve learned compassion and how to genuinely forgive others. And through Emily, I’ve learned the value of loyalty not only to those around me, but also to myself. Because she truly taught me how to be proud of who I am, who I love, and what I accomplish. 

I’m so grateful to have been a part of this incredible fandom. One that, yes, had its disagreements about many things, but ultimately one that remained united through the bond of the show’s core concept: friendship.

I’ve made friends and connected with so many incredible people around the world because of PLL, and we’ve shared moments and memories that will forever be engrained in my heart and mind. I cannot thank you all enough for that. Specifically though, there are a handful of you that truly made this roller coaster of an experience worth while.

To Ally and Sara, I’m so happy to have found two people who not only share a love of both PLL and hockey as much as I do, but also share a hatred in the one thing that’s even worse than Marlene King’s plot holes; the Anaheim Ducks. Thank you for making the Oilers’ first cup run in over 10 years one that I’ll never forget. Liveblogging those games together was one of my favourite highlights of this year’s playoffs, and I can’t wait for next year. GO OILERS!!

To Jordan, thank you for being someone I can always count on to not only fangirl over Emison with, but to also headcanon every single possible femslash on this show. You’re an incredible writer and your imagination and creativity never cease to amaze me. It’s great to know that your stories will always keep the PLLverse alive.

To Kim, thank you for being my ride or die. No matter how many ridiculous arguments we seem to always get into, you’ve always had my back and when push comes to shove, you’re someone I can count on for anything. I’m extremely grateful for the endless amount of support and love you give me, and I will always be thankful to this show for bringing you into my life.

Tonight, PLL airs its last episode ever. And though the story ends, the memories, the lessons, and the friendships will resonate with us forever. And that, is immortality my darlings.

Spencer savagely kills spiders while Aria stands on a chair and screams. 

Aria steals Spencer's old ties to make them into a fucking skirt because she's Aria and does Aria Things like that.

They argue over how to organize the bookshelves; Aria wants them organized by height and color because it's aesthetically pleasing, but Spencer wants them organized by author so she can find things. 

Spencer eats them out of house and home, and Aria enables her by going on regular baking sprees. 

Aria's been taking karate classes for years and has become physically stronger than Spencer, who only runs for exercise. 

When Aria paints at her easel by the window, Spencer gets embarrassingly distracted by her hair sparkling in the sunlight and usually trips and spills her coffee everywhere. 

Sometimes they link pinkies instead of full-on holding hands because that's cute as fuck. 

Spencer opens doors for Aria like the chivalrous lady knight that she is.

Spencer can't bridal-carry Aria over the threshold after their wedding because of aforementioned lack of upper body strength, so they opt for a piggyback instead. 

They honeymoon in Italy. 

They're kinky. Spencer's a sub because she needs to turn her mind off. Aria is anxious and needs to feel in control of something. That's their bedroom dynamic. Don't ask questions.

Spencer often wears suits to work, Aria drools from afar.

They watch old, classic movies together.

They also binge watch Game of Thrones together because Spencer's a die-hard fan. 

Sometimes they cuddle in bed while one of them reads aloud because that's also cute as fuck. 

Aria is a bed hog and Spencer is astounded because she's supposed to be tiny.

Speaking of sleeping, Spencer is a stomach sleeper and Aria is just kind of all over the place. 

Spencer writes her weekly schedule on the whiteboard they have on the fridge, and Aria doodles and writes encouraging notes beside it. 

They knit each other winter scarves and hats for the sake of being as kitschy and gay as possible. 

Spencer doesn't want a pet because they're both too busy to properly care for it, so Aria gets a plant to mother and names it Audrey II. 

Neither of them can function without coffee in the morning. 

Spencer wears glasses around the house because she's farsighted as fuck. (Again, Aria drools.) 

Aria has panic attacks, Spencer helps her through them. 

They're both in therapy, but Spencer only goes because Aria is concerned for her mental health.

Aria sneakily pushes Spencer toward healthy habits, like leaving granola bars in her purse so she doesn't let her blood sugar drop at work, or making her drink chamomile tea and read a book instead of checking her emails before bed.

Aria goes full-on bouquets of roses and serenading on Valentine's day and anniversaries, but Spencer inevitably turns it into a contest by buying Aria, like, 10 bouquets. Aria retaliates. The cycle continues.

Speaking of serenading, they play the piano for each other. Or together. Preferably with one of them leaning their head on the other's shoulder.

They only have a portable digital piano because Aria bought it on impulse at a flea market, much to Spencer's financially-conscious dismay. She just comes home with it shoved in the backseat of her car and Spencer's like, "what the actual fuck, Aria".

Spencer's the little spoon, dammit. GIVE HER LOVE.

Aria has a scented candle obsession, Spencer has to adjust their budget to allow it. (They most definitely have at least three book-scented candles.) 

Random stacks of books are just everywhere in their home, even on the back of the toilet, and the rest of the gang has to come over to help sort that shit out.

Spencer drags Aria to cosplay conventions. Aria acts annoyed, but secretly is also geeking out. 

Spencer has a gay ass pair of rainbow suspenders ready for Pride. 

Aria writes poetry about their relationship and Spencer always has to take a sec to sob. 

Aria’s aggressive sneezing scares the shit out of Spencer and Spencer’s sneezes are tiny and fucking cute and Aria laughs at her.

Spencer loves everything about autumn, so Aria takes her to a corn maze every year.

Rainy days make them both sad and soliloquy-y. 

Like an old married couple, they argue over dumb things. 

They call each other "babe", "baby", "sweetheart", "gorgeous", "honey", etc. because they're cheesy like that. 

They leave sticky note messages everywhere for each other to find.

They say "I love you" all the time, as much as possible.
