HANNILLY 1X05 FIC!!

Hanna returns home after school. She sits her bag down. She goes into the kitchen and grabs a drink. She takes a sip and takes it to her room, because she has homework to do. She had a long day at school. But all she could think about was Emily, and how she was putting on chap-stick in front of Emily, and how she wanted to be more than a friend to her. It was time for Hanna to admit how she really feels about Emily. She sits on her bed, and puts in her ear-buds and listens to ''Kiss Me, Kiss Me'' by 5SOS. Because it reminds her of Emily. Hanna can't take it any longer, she wants to tell Emily how she really feels. Speaking of that, Emily is at her door. ''Em. What's up?'' Hanna asks. ''Hey, I just came by to see you cause I didn't want to be alone.'' Emily tells Han. Hanna smiles at that. ''Aww Em, that's so sweet of you, come join me please we can watch a movie or something.'' Hanna says as she sits on her bed. Emily joins her. ''Why were you putting on chap-stick on when I was with you at school?'' Emily asks. Hanna gives Emily a look. ''Because my lips were chapped, and I needed to put it on, usually when I don't, I usually put on lip gloss instead. That's why I had to put it on and plus it was dry in the school.'' Hanna says. ''Yeah it was.'' Emily says, giving her a look. ''How you and Maya?'' Hanna asks. ''We're OK, I guess. I mean I like her, it's just that she's living in our friend's house and what am I supposed to do just accept that?'' Emily says. Hanna can see that Em is struggling with Maya. She takes her hand and rubs Em's shoulder. ''Em, I know that this is hard for you because she's living in our friend's house who is no longer with us, but maybe she had nowhere to go. and that was her only option. But just know that no matter what happens, you have me to lean on. Always. OK?'' Hanna says, making Em smile. ''I know, thank you Han.'' Emily says. Hanna smiles. ''Yeah, anytime.'' Hanna says, they hug. Hanna melts into their first hug, Smiles, with her eyes closed, she's thinking about how bad she wants to admit she loves Em. Hanna looks at Em. Em looks at Han. Hanna gazes into Em's eyes. ''EM, A sent me a picture of you and Maya kissing. Are you into her or me? You might as well just tell me who you really want to be with. I've known you since we were kids Em. And with Maya, you hardly know her.'' Hanna says. Admitting. Em is so shocked to hear that. They gave each other a cute look. ''Hanna, I pick u. Because not because I have known you the longest, because the way you support me. Being here for me.'' Em says. ''That's right and Em, I have feelings for you, and I really like you. I've been wanting to say that for all my life now and now that I finally have it melts my heart to hear me say that.'' Hanna says. Hanna puts her hands on Em's face and runs her fingers through Em's hair and smiles at her. They share their first kiss. They look at each other. Smiles. They do it again. This time their kiss was so sweet and tender. Hanna lingers it a few seconds. They hug, and then they cuddle on Hanna's bed and watch TV. They hold hands. Hanna puts her head on Em's shoulder. They melt into their touch.

I looked up PLL Meredith actress because I was like WHERE do I know her from (it's Center Stage, which is a movie all of you should watch, classic 00s goodness) but when I typed in PLL Meredith, Google predictive text was like, "PLL Meredith tries to kill Aria" and lol, of course she does.

Emily, I don't understand what you were thinking here. You were going to meet Toby at The Grill (always named The Grill) which is a public place where everyone seems to be so people from school would most likely see you with Toby so even if you didn't see Hanna and Spencer, it would be very possible that someone would see you two together and your friends would find out.

"We're wrong" "What does it feel like when we're together?" I can't do an Ezra/Aria version of a Delena conversation right now.

Alright so since we're talking about framing, let's talk about the Harty/Ezra/Aria thing and how even though Harty calls attention to the fact that Aria is in high school, it's still a romanticized framing. It's romanticized because Harty expresses that he knows how and why Ezra would find himself in that situation, he characterizes Aria as being mature for her age so Ezra's attraction to her "makes sense" but there's just the pesky little matter of her being his high school student, which makes Ezra stupid "Dude, you are so screwed" and not abhorrent.

What's it going to be Spencer? You going to impress a boy or your dad?

Piper coming in with acting. I love to see it.

All of this over a man who looks like that.

pll rewatch 1x05 - 1x06

first liars sleepover! along with their convenient morning clothes despite the sleepover being impromptu

Emily and Spencer reassuring Aria it is absolutely not her fault that Byron is a cheating dickhead is sweet, and this is the first time we get Hanna and Aria being close, with the bonding over shaky marriages.

Of course Emily tells Aria that Byron and Ella will work it out and be fine. Whatever other faults Emily's parents may have, they have a rock-solid marriage, the good kind.

Hanna is scared of children and desires confirmation that six year olds don't bite <3 Look at the cat faces on the supposedly hideous uniform (and a liar yet again being so weird in public about the blind girl)

Spencer is such a Well Done Son Guy to her dad in 1x05, she's even eager to play catch with him (okay, volley a tennis ball.) God, I love how naive Spencer is about her family. She always wants to believe in them, and in the possibility of their forgiveness.

Emily has a bartender cousin who snuck her into a concert once. This is relevant to nothing but is a fun fact. Her and Toby bond over their indie music tastes

Best A message: "Lions and tigers and bitches oh my, there's no place like homecoming"

Close runner-up is "Hanna got dissed and Emily got kissed!" as a lead-up to A sending Hanna photos of Emily/Maya kissing.

Spencer keeping the jungle red lipstick in a ziplock baggie is so important to me.

Aw, Toby looks like such a kicked puppy when Emily doesn't acknowledge him at the Grille. I really do have a soft spot for S1!Toby, he can't help that he's got a creepy affect. And then he gets shoved into glassware at the end of this episode while trying to disclose something very difficult! Poor guy.

Aria making Mike watch a black-and-white film with her even while they're stressed about their parents is such an older sibling move, I must respect this.

Going from Peter Hastings being terrible to Ella and Byron having a yelling match in the living room to Ashley Marin talking to Hanna about Sean and Hanna's dad....Ashley Marin is best PLL parent to me <3

These girls really are their parent's kids, personality-wise, for better or worse

Hanna is So! Supportive! Of! Emily being gay! while leaking nothing. It is very cute. Hanna is in a one woman #ally competition and she is winning.

Though, really, it's interesting seeing how...tentative Hannily are in their friendship this early, knowing how their friendship progresses.

Okay, Hanna is tentative about nothing, but you know what I mean.

The other three liars barge in on Aria's mopefest - I wonder if Aria finds it hard to believe they really did drift apart the previous year, given how quickly they snap together for this non-A issue.

Oh Spencer, leaving in the middle of a slow-dance because she suddenly has an A theory, and then obsessively staring at Emily because she's terrified for her.

Love that we first see this with Emily. Won't be the last time.

The homecoming has a whole-ass boyband??? I had no memory of them

As an excuse for ditching the carnival stall, Aria goes, "oh you know, my claustrophobia got to me". .....RIP to Aria in a few seasons, that's rough buddy.

Spencer takes a day to realize the significance of Toby's tattoo; Emily sees 901 and immediately connects it to Ali's disappearance and death. Aria did just text her about Ali's killer, but I like to think that Emily would've made that inference regardless.

When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)

It's been a long time since I watched PLL and to be honest I've forgotten a lot about that show lol. But I know I liked Spencer from the very beginning. I mean, anyone who knows me knows I'd love such a go-getter.

My journey with Elena is a lot more complicated LMAO. I remember disliking her because of her attitude regarding Caroline in 1x05. But I was also very impressed by some of her stunts. And now I call her my schrödinger fave for a reason xD

My favorite ship of them

Caroline-Elena for Elena (see previous post) and, hmm. All the Liars for Spencer, but I did have a soft spot for Spencer-Hanna.

My least favorite ship of them

OBVIOUSLY Damon for Elena lol.

I didn't like any single love interest for Spencer, but then, I didn't like any single man in PLL xD. Although, given how it was to create drama between the girls, I have a stronger antipathy for Spencer/Caleb, I guess? It's not like I remember much of their actual dynamic, but it did annoy me that the show went there.

Spencer's "hope breeds eternal misery" quote. And Elena's downfall.

As a lesbian I can't help but think you have to be very heterosexual to fuck some of the guys these two have fucked, and VERY VERY heterosexual to marry Damon tbh. I want to go with sapphic headcanons for both because I'm gay and they're hot (and I have a little one for Elena lol) but. I'm gonna be honest with you fam. I don't know if I can xDD

I could see Spencer as bi, ig. Elena could get into situationships but that girl does not like woman, in any sense of the word LOL.

Your favorite friendship they have

Caroline-Elena, for a poor definition of friendship LOL. And again, the Liars for Spencer, with Spencer-Hanna as a particular favourite.

Best storyline they had

I found Spencer's struggles with addiction and her stay in Radley interesting, if not exactly devoid of issues. The actress really brought in her A-game.

As for Elena, season 4 has a special place in my heart. Objectively, she's having a terrible time! But it's the season that really gets deep with her, without the rose-tinted goggles of the previous ones.

Aria comes into her bedroom wearing her pajamas in “Reality Bites Me” (1x05) and gives Mike his bowl of rice risotto before sitting down next to him on her bed. They talk for a moment or so about their parents and where their relationship is going. Aria and Mike are watching a black and white movie or tv show on the screen, and when the camera pans outward from Aria’s bedroom window, the shape of an -A can be seen on Aria’s TV screen.

I don’t think Mike is a part of the -A-team, but he could be potentially helping because he would do anything to ensure that suspicions don’t arise from the girls about his sister. I believe Mike knows about Aria’s involvement with the -A-team, but he would never tell anyone. If anything, he’d help her be seen as a victim, not a villain.

PLL REWATCH!!

So I've been rewatching season 1 of Pretty Little Liars and I'm on episode 7 and I've noticed some things from that scene with Hanna and Emily! Hanna talks to Emily, Emily asks Hanna about why Hanna thought she would take Maya to the dance. ''What?'' Hanna asks. ''You wanted her as my date why?'' Emily asks. ''A sent me a picture of you and Maya kissing. So can I just ask? I mean, you took Toby to the dance then you took that picture with Maya.'' Hanna says. ''If I said yes to Maya, everything would change you know it would.'' Emily says. ''Yeah, you would have to pretend that someone your not. Emily your not signing a contract, you were Emily dating Ben and now your Emily dating Maya. We love Emily, no one cares who you're with.'' Hanna says, being so supportive of Em. Here's my fix to that scene. Hanna gets up. ''Where you going?'' Emily asks. ''I have to go to school.'' Hanna says. ''Hanna, it's only 6:30 school doesn't start until 8:10.'' Emily says. ''Yeah, right. Sorry. Do you want anything?'' Hanna asks. ''I want you to stay here, with me because I don't want to be alone.'' Emily says. Hanna couldn't say no to Em, because she knew she was hurting because of her arm. ''Yes, of course I will stay here with you, How's your arm?'' Hanna asks. ''It's OK, it hurts.'' Emily says. Hanna sits next to Em, and takes care of her arm. She rubs it with her hand and puts her other arm around Em. ''Is that better?'' Hanna asks. Emily gives Hanna a look. ''Yah it's better thank you.'' Emily says. ''Yah of course.'' Hanna says, she puts her hands on Em's face and gives her a smile. They look into each other's eyes, beautifully. They share their first kiss. ''That was beautiful.'' Hanna says. Emily and Hanna give each other a hug. Hanna leaves for school. 1x05. Hanna is at the grill with Emily. She sees Emily is holding a CD. ''Pretty, who made that?'' Hanna asks. ''Somebody from school.'' Emily says. ''Well someone must like you a lot. If there's someone in your life that cares about you, I'm happy for you. No matter who they are.'' Hanna says. After that, Hanna gets home and she sees Emily there. ''Em, I thought you were going to see Toby.'' Hanna says. ''I didn't because what you said really melted my heart. thank you for saying that. You have no idea how much that means to me.'' Emily says. ''Your welcome, I'm always here for you.'' Hanna says, they sit on the couch. Hanna looks at Em, with heart eyes, they both do and they share a beautiful kiss and they hug!! 1x08 Hanna and Em come home from Spencer's. ''Are you OK?'' Hanna asks, showing concern for Em. ''Yah I'm OK, thank you for saying those beautiful words about Alison and for showing a true friend to me, Han.'' Emily says. ''Yah, of course, your welcome anytime.'' Hanna says. They click beers together. Hanna and Em look at each other and they kiss and they hold each other!!

Hanna and Emily season 1 was so perfect, beautiful. Every scene with them was the perfect time for them to kiss because you can just tell that Hanna was in love with Em, one of my favorite moments from season 1 was when Hanna touched Emily's hair and smiling at her, that moment had me shipping them more and especially the first time when they comforted each other!! They should've happened!!
