Candice Swanepoel: Mindless Supermodel on Tour Annotated [ 1 ]
Originally published November 26th, 2013
Hundreds of young women were gathering at a Victoria's Secret in Pasadena [ 2 ] where Candice Swanepoel was promoting a new lingerie line, Obedience by Victoria [ 3 ]. Many only showed up to get an autograph and a picture with the supermodel, but a select few were chosen to join Candice in a private meeting after the event [ 4 ].
Once the fifteen chosen girls followed Candice into the room, each one received their very own Obedience bra which Candice ordered them to put on [ 5 ]. When all of the girls had returned from the fitting rooms, they found that Candice had stripped down into her underwear and was waiting to greet them in her own pair of Obedience by Victoria lingerie. Then she began her demonstration. The girls listened intently to Candice's every word as she went over the usual stuff: how the bra gave enough lift to create the illusion of larger breasts, but didn't sacrifice the comfort that every bra needs [ 6 ]. How all the designs, for example her's with black and white polka-dots [ 7 ], were cute and flirty but sexy and mature all at once. And how the bra kept a woman mindless, blank, submissive [ 8 ].
"Each bra comes with its own unique identification card [ 9 ]," Candice spoke promptly, professionally, as if she were reading from a script [ 10 ]. "And the holder of that id card controls the wearer of the bra. As long as I'm wearing Obedience by Victoria, I have no control of my own. However, since I have your cards, I do have control over all of you. Does that make sense? [ 11 ]"
"Yes, Mistress Candice," the girls replied [ 12 ].
"Good," Candice smiled as she looked upon an audience of blank faces. "The bra was assembled in America with materials produced in Pakistan [ 13 ]. Utilizing research that is only legal in Yugoslavia [ 14 ], Victoria's Secret has created a bra that is truly a first of its kind, and a look into the future of the industry. Please refrain from wearing Obedience by Victoria for more than four hours; prolonged use may cause memory loss, catatonia, loss of motor control, and irregular increase in sex drive. If you experience any of these symptoms, remove the bra immediately and consult a physician for you could be experiencing early signs of mind control poisoning. Ask your doctor before use [ 15 ].
"Now, my girls, [ 16 ]" Candice took a breath.
"Yes, Mistress Candice?"
"You're all going to go home, and you're going to find another girl. It could be your sister, your friend, your mother, your cousin, it doesn't matter. You're going to find another girl and you're going to make sure she gets a bra just like yours [ 17 ]."
"Yes, Mistress Candice. We will obey."
"Good. We want every woman in America to experience Obedience by Victoria with us."
"Yes, Mistress Candice. They will submit."
Mindless, the women left the mall and headed home, all thinking about their mission [ 18 ].
Candice boarded the fastest plane out of LA, en route to Milwaukee [ 19 ] where the next Victoria's Secret on the tour was located. On the plane she received a call. "Yes," she spoke quietly into the receiver. "I fitted them all with the bras...Yes, the effect was instantaneous...Of course I'm still wearing mine...Yes, I do nothing but think of you when I'm wearing it...Yes, I will do anything...Yes...Anything for you, Master. [ 20 ]"
[ 1 ]. Mindless Supermodel Model on Tour created a lot of problems for me. It was originally meant to be a series of shorts where we see Candice in different little mind control vignettes, but the idea of a mind controlling lingerie brand was too broad to just bury in a random one shot, so I kept writing about it. I pretty quickly moved to writing fictional characters after this short, but Obedience by Victoria remained an important bit of lore for several years until I just said fuck it and swapped out Victoria's Secret for Fleur-de-lis, creating ersatz versions of the Victoria's Secret models that I'd previously written about. You can read a much, much better version of this story here as Obedience By Fleur #1.
[ 2 ]. Before Romero, I liked to set these stories in completely random cities that I've never been to.
[ 3 ]. Fun with brand name parodies. I thought Obedience By Victoria was so clever for some reason.
[ 4 ]. In my "just writing a quick caption to establish context for the manip" era, these stories start so abruptly. It feels really weird to just jump into something without any groundwork.
[ 5 ]. They aren't even mind controlled yet lmao
[ 6 ]. Incredibly painful to read a 19 year old kid write about women's underwear like he knows what he's talking about.
[ 7 ]. I used to go out of my way to place the story in the manip somehow, but this proved incredibly limiting. At some point I stopped letting the manips tell the stories and today I rarely reference imagery from the manips.
[ 8 ]. This is supposed to be a "murder, arson, jaywalking" joke, but the bit doesn't land because I spread it out over three long sentences instead of one list.
[ 9 ]. Huh
[ 10 ]. Because she's under mind control, you see. Totally unreasonable to suspect that a person pitching a new product for their company would be reading from a script.
[ 11 ]. Weirdly insecure for a mindless drone.
[ 12 ]. Nitpicking myself here but I don't think "replied" is the word choice I would use for fifteen mind controlled girls speaking in unison today.
[ 13 ]. I wonder if this was researched or if I just picked completely random countries. I'm guessing the latter.
[ 14 ]. Oof, most of the jokes in my early stuff just don't land. I've always been better at the melodrama.
[ 15 ]. Pretty good bit.
[ 16 ]. I would also probably not have her say "my girls" if I were writing this today. Just reads weird to me.
[ 17 ]. Not the first instance of serial recruitment in my writing at this point (the sequel to that Fleur-de-lis chapter that I posted the other night has it), but the first that I like.
[ 18 ]. Are they mindless or are they thinking? Just a weird transition paragraph that exists to remind the reader one more time that there's mind control in this story.
[ 19 ]. What even is this tour? Surely there are Victoria's Secrets between Pasadena and Milwaukee lmao
[ 20 ]. This is a Metal Gear Solid reference and it's fucking stupid

💜🙏🏻PG INTERPRETATION OF MM ANON..ON ZERO SLEEP🙏🏻💜
💜💜🙏🏻THANK YOU MM ANON🙏🏻💜💜
MM Anon
This was very tough!! My best on zero sleep!!
skippyv20
MM ANON … “ I just hope they don’t take the children”… the return of the Valkyrie … HOPE springs eternal …another future PR hiatus …… fashion fluff……… “grapple them to your soul with hoops of steal”. …… “separate tables”…decisions, decisions…… “ justice, what bloody justice”……it’s the only solution. 🎼” who are we to disagree “🎼
I
“ I just hope they don’t take the children”…
I think this is regarding the Asian tour that the D and DOC are going to be undertaking to Asia. Security must be a nightmare and there was previously mention by MM ANON of a family tour, but l truly hope they don’t take them along on this particular tour. From the Express…
Prince William and Kate under armed guard for high risk tour - terror police on alert
FIREARMS OFFICERS will shadow Prince William and Kate on their tour of Pakistan in the autumn because of “a potential flashpoint”.
the return of the Valkyrie
In Norse mythology, a valkyrie is one of a host of female figures who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live. Selecting among half of those who die in battle, the valkyries take their chosen to the afterlife hall of the slain, Valhalla, ruled over by the god Odin. So our girl is in the toughest part of her battle as she returns to the U.K. SS has let loose horrific rumours about numerous royal family members. Boorish, foul, vulgarity, she makes me physically ill! Frankly she doesn’t care who lives or dies metaphorically of course, she intends to inflict as much damage as she can!
HOPE springs eternal
“Hope springs eternal in the human breast; Man never Is, but always To be blest. The soul, uneasy, and confin’d from home, Rests and expatiates in a life to come” is a quote by Alexander Pope. We must keep our spirits up, keep on fighting this battle however devious and grotty it gets. We need to keep our royal family in prayer🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 where there is life, there is hope.
another future PR hiatus
PR hiatus where? Future? What are we expecting? Will she refuse to go to SA and hide out?? Interesting, l am very intrigued by this.
fashion fluff
The capsule collection or whatever she calls it with Smart Works are fluff. Cheap quality, foreign made, means lots of $$$££££€€€€ for our girl, and Bumble app is aligned with a Smart works which means these women will get poor quality cheap clothes, then pay to register to find a mate!
“grapple them to your soul with hoops of steal”
MM ANON has used this before from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The essence meaning is once you’ve tested out your friends and found them trustworthy, hold onto them! Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, l can’t recall who said that. The BRF are united, they are clear on the goal, their eyes are on the prize. With the exception of the issues with PA, a big worry, they are united. The one question l have, MM ANON, you wrote steal, not steel, was that a typo?? Or the financial thievery and merching is being dealt with! Oh please!
“separate tables”
Whose separate tables, will this be PH and mm whilst on the SA tour?? Or are PC and PA dining at separate tables. MM ANON this riddle is hard!!
decisions, decisions
Many decisions and choices are imminent, PA cooperation, the SA and Africa tour. What to do, when to do it. I do think they have enough on her to end this but they are looking at connections and getting all the pieces of this corrupt puzzle. For her what other lies will she leak online or wherever she does what she does.
“ justice, what bloody justice”
Justice in terms of PA being requested to be interviewed by the FBI. PA appears extreme edge, with the incident l wrote about elsewhere. Also, mm, at what point will there be justice. PP must be so angry that HMTQ his beloved, is burdened so at this point. GSTQAOBC 🇦
it’s the only solution.
PA submit to an interview, talk with investigators. It has to be done and dealt with.
🎼” who are we to disagree “🎼
Sweet Dreams, Eurythmics, Annie Lennox from Aberdeen😁😁😁😁
Sweet dreams are made of these, some of them want to hurt you etc you know the song. Lots of dreams put on hold, some shattered. It must be devastating for both HMTQ and PP to be dealing with all the issues with mm, now with PA and the big bust-up he had with a top aide requiring PC to step in.

💜🙏🏻PG INTERPRETATION OF MM ANON🙏🏻💜
💜💜🙏🏻 THANK YOU MM ANON🙏🏻💜💜
MM Anon
MM ANON ……an embellished De-generate … a PR mired ……the phantom infant …… an exposure of confinement … Andy-panned-y…… “six of one……”……… “ that dammed elusive pimp…… “sympathy for the Devil “…… and the winner is……not today thank you!!……” pretend it never happened “ …… Charlotte is at Uni
an embellished De-generate
AN embellished DE-generate.
ED has a U.S. talk show. Told slew of lies about meeting visiting feeding amw. Now that may be embellished!
PA , as the Duke of York presented in his dress military uniform at the ceremony marking 75th anniversary of liberation of Bruges. The Duke of York was present in his role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards and laid a wreath at the Charles II memorial in the Belgian city on Saturday morning. He was a guest of Prince Laurent of Belgium, the brother of King Phillipe, and the pair later inspected a guard of honour in the market square. His public reputation has very much soured with his connections with JE and GM. I hesitate to use the word degenerate but others haven’t. All sorts of negative press culminating yesterday in that hilarious stupid blind item A meets B , Z knows D etc etc garbage. Now who do you suppose spewed that ?Hmmm, who would have a motive??? No need for any crystal balls. The medals are the embellishment.
a PR mired
PR mired, let’s refresh ourselves on what mired means. Mired can be cause to become stuck in mud, lies or slime, cover or spatter with mud or lies or slime, or involve someone or something in a difficult situation. Who has been mired in slime? Who has been filthy like that. You know! Who throwing mud or worse, everything in the media in hopes that something’s sticks to hurt the other side as much as possible!! You know, l hVe no need for names.
the phantom infant
Well this is amw, Darren, Dolly whatever your frame of reference is. This supposed infant has yet to actually clearly be seen, and be seen alive and moving, and PH interacting with it. Phantom….unseen shadow….the shadow knows…remember that old show/radio show? Yes l love old radio shows esp Johnny Dollar, but l digress!
an exposure of confinement
Confinement was the old fashioned word for being in the family way which is the lesser old fashioned way of saying pregnany🤣🤣. OH PLEASE MM ANON!! PLEASE LET HER FAKENANCY BE EXPOSED !!! Pretty please with sugar on top!
Andy-panned-y…
PA is being panned in the media. Numerous negative, critical, accusatory articles. The big one also was the alleged argument with a ‘top aide’ which very nearly came to blows, necessitating PC to intervene. The Palace is trying to downplay the seriousness of it.
“six of one……”
Six of one, half a dozen of the other, basically meaning that one has two options of choices to make are equivalent or indifferent. In either case it’s a bad outcome, usually. So who is this relating to? PA. Cooperating with interviews with the F.B.I. or remaining angry, on edge, uncooperative. At some point, an international subpoena could be issued, involving the international court or the star chamber which MM ANON has referenced several times in previous riddles. I studied up on the star chamber, it goes back to 1486 when the King Charles, l think Charles ll was named head of the COE. Anyhow , it’s fascinating and may become relevant as this court deals with wealthy, political or aristocratic people that the regular courts are hesitant to deal with.
“ that dammed elusive pimp
Where is MA??? No sightings in NYC. Is he in custody??? Is he in witness protection??? WHERE IS HE? I bet he has made a deal and has been singing his lungs out!
“sympathy for the Devil “
This classic song by TRS? Interestingly this song refers to Russian connection, U.S.President Kennedy……?JE referral, as an aside! This is most definitely our girl SS PR in overdrive seeking her to be out for sympathy because the big bad British press are all meanies and are unnecessarily picking on little innocent madam. CANT YOU HEAR MY SARCASM??😜😗😉😗😆. Nope not buying it, no sympathy!
and the winner is
Voila, they love me! They really love me! I am aging myself, remember when Sally Field won the Oscar and she said that? Wellour special one won Tatlers prestigious, coveted, rare Social Climber of the year 🥇 award!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
not today thank you!!
Prince Andrew’s relationship with JE has caused several public engagements to be cancelled. The Duke of York’s upcoming appointments in Northern Ireland have been called off amid media scrutiny surrounding his links to the disgraced financier. Organizers withdrew invitations to the prince, with one worrying his attendance would ‘change the narrative’ about the event in question. A ceremony at Portrush railway station to mark its £5million upgrade are among the engagements to be cancelled.
” pretend it never happened “
Carry on,,nothing to see here, weekend in NYC was fabulous, besties and even on the jumbo trot as HRH with her shy non-royal wave. Or alternative may be PA pretending the row with the ‘ top aide’ never happened.
Charlotte is at Uni.
Our dear Princess Charlotte is madly truly deeply in love with 🦄 unicorns. She had one on her backpack/rucksack, first day of school. I think she was also seen with a unicorn purse all glittery during the summer.

MM ANON …… the hot zone …… “ were all getting older,old thing”…… Together?????……… a caring cabal …… double bluff…… “ such a caring person”…… “gather thee rosebuds”…… like a Biohazard ☣️ …… “ she’s a bloody virus”…… suddenly ‘ last summer …… Sharon Stone Cold…🎼 “ She’s just a Devil woman “🎼 …… “they made their beds” ……… “just read the bloody comments”.… sword of Damocles
The Hot zone
Tv show in America based on the Ebola virus appearing in chimpanzees in a research lab in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., and there is no known cure; a U.S. Army scientist puts her life on the line to head off an outbreak before it spreads to the human population. Unfortunately, in reality West Africa had an outbreak on Ebola that was the largest in history. It started with cases of EVD in the forested rural region of southeastern Guinea, reported by WHO (World Health Organization) in 2014. Soon, cases were discovered in Liberia,Sierra Leone, which border Guinea. It eventually through international travel spread to the U.S. Africa still has many diseases and often travellers are vaccinated or given anti-malarial drugs and sleep under netting to protect from insect born infections.
“ were all getting older, old thing”
PP and HMTQ musing to one another how the world has changed in their lifetimes, what is currently happening. Supporting and upholding one another, the combined have survived numerous wars, deaths, terrorism in many forms, family break-ups, PR nightmares of unimaginable proportions. Yet, they are still standing firm, one with the other. This brings tears to my eyes. GSTQAOBC 🇨🇦
Together?????
D and DOS going to SA together? It seems by this to be of great question of whether they will both be going, given the number of question marks and given the itinerary. Time will tell what is to come.
a caring cabal
Dare l say this is Skippy’s blog and everyone here! I truly believe it is! God bless you 🐼 for your unwavering faith and devotion to HMTQ and bless all who are here!💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜
double bluff
A double bluff is an action or statement that is intended to appear as a bluff but is in fact genuine. Whose double bluffing here? There are many possibilities here. There is the heir and a spare. Is she thinking somehow she will end up Queen if there is enough malicious gossip as been spread a few days ago which l won’t speak of. I personally think this is LG playing games with her, cat and mouse. She is playing so many games with so many people simultaneously, with so many lies, it’s mind boggling and then add substances to the mix! It’s maybe a quadruple bluff of a happy life. If you read her two twitter accounts, the two l know of, life is grand, and simply couldn’t be better. I especially love American English with British terms thrown in, both usually spelled wrong and used in the wrong meaning!!
“ such a caring person”
Our beloved Peoples’ Princess! No one outshone her wonderfully innate caring and the manner in which she expressed it. We see it living on, instilled in both her boys, yes l said boys! They’re our boys, out Wills and our Harry. We will never stop loving them, praying for them wanting them healthy, happy and carrying out their duties and displaying their mother’s caring manner.
“gather thee rosebuds”
It’s so beautiful, l had to share it. There is an old hymn similar line, give me the roses while l live, trying to carry on, useless the flowers that he give, after the soul has gone. I LOVE that hymn🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time
Robert Herrick - 1591-1674
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying.
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he’s a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he’s to setting.
That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may, go marry;
For having lost but once your prime,
You may forever tarry.
Basically live life well, to it’s fullest, kindness, lovingly, and meaningfully. I don’t need to explain further, l thought in sharing the poem, all would be blessed by it and take to heart it’s meaning.💜🙏🏻💜
like a Biohazard ☣️
Let’s review the definition of a biohazard. A biological hazard, or biohazard, is a biological substance that poses a threat to the health of living organisms, primarily humans. This could include a sample of a microorganism, virus or toxin (from a biological source) that can affect human health and could also be a substance harmful to other animals. The way life has been lived, in terms of extreme sexual behaviours, there are very real possibilities of HIV, HEP(hepatitis/ various types of liver disease). or other STD’s.( sexually transmitted diseases)
“ she’s a bloody virus”
Again PP, infecting anything and everything negatively, jinx at tennis matches. Just pure evil machinations, selfish intentions and from some of the photos the way Catherine is glared at and the children, especially the one photo where Catherine is pregnant, my mind shudders with what possible thoughts might be going through someone’s head.
suddenly ‘ last summer
1959 film of Tennessee Williams’ play, a young woman is traumatized and committed after witnessing her cousin’s violent death on a trip to Europe. Her aunt, wants to hide the events of her son’s death and attempts to bribe young surgeon to perform a lobotomy on the girl. But he vows to find out the truth about what caused her condition before taking any action. By the way a lobotomy is a surgical operation involving incision into the prefrontal lobe of the brain, formerly used to treat mental illness.
Also song, by the Motels, love that song, about being stuck in memories of a summer fling.
Wonder if institutionalization is the route of dealing with a person is the lesser of two evils as per yesterday’s riddle clue??
Sharon Stone Cold
Sharon Stone, that scene from Basic Instinct keg crossing, that photo from the tennis on Saturday with madams sitting position was sooo familiar. Stone cold, hard, no emotion, self-focused on meeting one’s own needs, wishes goals desires etc. Yeah, again, just going to put that there, you’re all smart!! You know!!
🎼 “ She’s just a Devil woman “🎼
She’s a devil woman with evil on her mind by the great Sir Cliff Richard, who by The by has had his own legal troubles which l will not go into. If you desire and are not aware, there is a plethora of information online, not all true! Friday, is Friday the 13th and full moon, to those on the dark side an especially EVIL day. This song, the lyrics is description of a narcissistic evil woman, l will just leave it there for you to think if that sounds like anyone that is in the media. Extra prayers for everyone this friday🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
“they made their beds”
The saying, you made your bed, lie in it. The public is nearing the breaking point with PH and beyond with mm. That’s the attitude, let them rescind their titles, over to America and be celebrities!! No more public £££££££££! PH we ARE WITH YOU! You remain in our prayers! WE ARE VERY MUCH AWARE YOU ARE SERVING HMTQ!
“just read the bloody comments”
Again that word, PP, angry, comments by the millions regarding the conduct of the Sussexes, her by choice, him by assignment. Just utter frustration and anger at this horrendous situation and the entire conglomeration of issues that are going along with it.
Sword of Damocles.
This will require a bit of story telling/ explaining.According to the story, Damocles was pandering to his king, exclaiming to him that he was truly fortunate man of great power and authority, surrounded by magnificence. In response, the king offered to switch places with Damocles for one day so that Damocles could taste that very fortune firsthand. Damocles quickly and eagerly accepted the king’s proposal. Damocles sat down in the king’s throne surrounded by every luxury, but the king, who had made many enemies during his reign, arranged that a huge sword should hang above the throne, held by only by a single hair of a horse’s tail to evoke the sense of what it is like to be king: though having much fortune, always having to watch in fear and anxiety against dangers that might try to overtake him. Damocles finally begged the king that he be allowed to depart because he no longer wanted to be so fortunate, realizing that with great fortune and power comes also great danger. The long and the short of this
is, perhaps madam is slowly becoming “woke” to the fact that her life choices have led her to a very very dangerous intersect, prison, institutionalizations, or worse by her enemies who were formerly her “friends”/backers.

💜🙏🏻🙏🏻PG LATE INTERPRETATION ON MM ANON 🙏🏻🙏🏻💜
💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻THANK YOU MM ANON🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜
MM ANON … 🎼 “ blackbird singing in dead of night”🎼…… not a problem …… anything and everything …… more porn……there’s not a hole black enough …… redacted ………… me myself and I… … 🎼 you either got or you haven’t …………”🎼………… on your own AGAIN!!!……… give a DOG a bone ……… a Belgrave secret …… not really a secret, whooops!
🎼 “ blackbird singing in dead of night”🎼
This song, from 1968 by The Beatles is not really about a blackbird. The term bird, in England is a slang term for a female. The black African American struggle in the southern United States, was used metaphorically.Along with McCartney’s “Helter Skelter”, “Blackbird” was one of several White Album songs that Charles Manson interpreted as the Beatles’ prophecy of an apocalyptic race war that would lead to him and his “Family”of followers ruling the US on countercultural principles. Manson interpreted the lyrics’ repetition of the word “rise” as a call to black Americans to wage war on their white counterparts, and instructed his followers to commit a series of murders in Los Angeles in August 1969 to trigger such a conflict’.
For our context, there has been an intentional multi-media goal to draw in and play the race card on behalf of madam. We have seen it repeatedly and many people ie “sugars” have been drawn in and are being used to further an agenda. This continues to grow, worldwide and is , l believe one of the most difficult issues that LG and his team have in dealing with madam.
I also am wondering if this draws on DR. Where is she??! The term singing, other than sits obvious meaning, is term term when one is in legal trouble being interviewed and tells about whatever the criminal plan is, who is involved, what has been done, and what is the ultimate goal. Has DR began to sing?? I wonder.
not a problem
Anything and everything Madam, has done anything and everything for fame, power, $$$$$$£££££€€€€. I am 100% certain she is capable of anything. She is narcissistic and thinks only of what benefits her, has no moral compass. I also am 100% certain she has done things that myself for example, as an educated woman, she has done things l have never heard of, in this regard l am referencing sexual context.
more porn
As l just stated, it would not surprise me if more evidence of past vulgarities have arisen. I pray for those in LG team who have to actually view and deal with such content. This has to take a toll on a person.🙏🏻🙏🏻
there’s not a hole black enough
A black hole is a region of space/tike exhibiting an acceleration of gravity so strong that nothing can escape from. The litany of information gathered about madam is so incredibly large, the people she has been involved with, the conduct, is so enormous that using the metaphor of a black hole is to help us to understand the difficulty and enormity of what they have been dealing with. Trying to unwind all the threads, than aligning them so they connect and can be used in legal proceedings. In terms of just making this garbage disappear, it’s not possible, literally meaning the black hole could not contain it and prevent it from escaping out into the ether.
redacted
Redacted, we hAve seen this gem many, many times, especially in high profile cases or agents working undercover. The paperwork submitted in legal proceedings at times are made public. In the U.S., the Freedom of Information Act, often news agencies file in court, to publicly display what the proceedings are about. However, if information is critically sensitive, to national security, to those still working covertly, some information is held back from the public, or the term is called redacted. When you read the information eventually made public, you will see black lines covering some of the information. This can be very frustrating for journalists or those who just want or those who need to know. So, in this context, this is a multi-national situation, different laws, different countries. I think this is telling us, that we should prepare ourselves that we may not be given a lot of information that we want eventually. We need to understand the reasons, as l explained above.
me myself and I
Me and shadow, popped into my head. This is the best description of madam now. NYC was crickets 🦗, no paparazzi, nothing like the baby shower weekend. I thought today was interesting, all the police officers with their motorbikes, no crowds, they were not needed. She looks more and more alone each time we see her, which makes it important that we continue to see her. Quite pathetic attempt by SW in the media today saying how great full she was that madam came to tennis 🎾, but not so great full that madam was invited to the Italian restaurant that SW and her family went after the tennis!
🎼 you either got or you haven’t
This is interesting MM ANON, you clever lady, l ask again was this a typo that the scale was separated from the word havent? Old blue eyes sang this, and the crew he ran with, Dean Martin, oooo remember Peter Lawford, how handsome. But l digressed yet again
This song is all about style , class, elegance. You can wear a quarter of a million dollar wedding dress and look awful. Style, the way one carries oneself, interacts with others, treats people and just generally lives. You cannot buy it!!! Madam does NOT!!! Have it!!
”🎼
Refer above!
on your own AGAIN!!!
Well her big speech was done, an hour of “work” on her first day back from “surrogamegnancy” leave! She has to rush home for FEED TIME😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄! Unbelievable! Yet, with madam, of course it’s believable!!
give a DOG a bone
Obvious meaning, give doggy a bone for a treat! However, our dear MM ANON doing the uppercase. DOG, the obvious meaning to me is Delusions of Grandeur! This we know is madams prime reason for existing. She is the most important person to ever exist, is perfect and everyone loves her, they should, she’s perfection. Got a bit of news for you madam, YOU ARE NONE OF THOSE THINGS!!!!
a Belgrave secret
Sherlock and John discover that a case of blackmail is more than just a threat to topple the monarchy. Sherlock: Season 2, Episode 1.“A Scandal in Belgravia” Love Benedict Cumberbath! Fabulous series!
The episode depicts Sherlock Holmes confrontation with a dominatrix who has compromising photos taken with a female member of the royal family. The photos along with other valuable information which makes a target for various political factions. Belgravia is a district on London adjacent to the grounds of Buckingham Palace.
Not really a secret whooops!
Not really a secret any longer that she really is not a member of the BRF.Rarely have l seen HRH used in the media, now DOS, until today. It’s mostly been mm. Oh l felt sick for that lovely lady who curtsied her, sickening.

💜🙏🏻🙏🏻PG INTERPRETATION OF MM ANON🙏🏻🙏🏻💜
💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻THANK YOU MM ANON🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜
MM Anon
MM ANON … a stream of unconsciousness … “feed the hungry”…… “AND THE CROWD WENT …home”…… “when is she auooooof to Africa”?…… shares drop at M&S. …… 🎼 “ all in all it’s just another”🎼……… “matter of fact, it’s all dark”……… “not Christmas, not bloody ever”!!…… “Little Lottie, a lovable rebel that one”…… “the monarchy is secured”. … “an adventure playground, no your highness’ no! an adventure PARK”
a stream of unconsciousness
The capsule collection was the goddesses contribution to solving all the women’s seeking employment problem if you’re a person in very limited size range, enjoy black clothes, mostly, England is not New York where everyone wears black all the time. A bag that costs more than any item, and if truth be told she was determined to have that bag in the collection because a similar one she herself had donated, was rejected by a woman that she was attempting to ‘style’ for her job interview. Yes folks, that’s how vindictive things are, instead of a reasonably priced non-leather, thought she was vegan, but l digress, handbag not a weekend bag, would have been a much better and certainly more affordable option to purchase. She just has no consciousness , sense of awareness if you will, beyond herself, she really doesn’t. The greatest evidence beyond many things we observe about her, was the ‘speech’ she gave yesterday, in between constantly playing with her hair/wig, so unprofessional and gross, she mentioned herself ALOT, l read 38 times in a five or six minute verbal ramble. This is madness, umpire narcissistic madness!
“feed the hungry”
Well, this could be about charity and assisting or donating time, money or food. This is reference madam’s quick escape from the no crowd show up yesterday, except those invited. Must have been a humiliation but l don’t know if she has that level of self awareness or emotion. But her quick getaway excuse was feeding time. Not my baby, my precious or for goodness sake even little Archie or a pet name as most mums have. Every single thing about this woman is strange, not normal, bizarre and selfish.
“AND THE CROWD WENT …home”
😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣MM ANON, you’re so cheeky. Yes the massive, enormous invisible crowd that waited to see madam yesterday, which necessitated a slew of policemen on motorbikes standing by lest the invisible crowd got out of hand. She stayed about and hour and left for”feeding time at the old corral “. If it weren’t so pathetically wasteful, reverse racism, it is actually quite hilarious.
“when is she auooooof to Africa”?
I am laughing because auooooof sounds like a howl when you say it and since it’s not only Friday the 13 th but full moon as well, l think MM ANON is , along with asking a legitimate question, she is giving us a good belly laugh. THANK YOU MM ANON AUOOOOF! 🐺 🐺 🐺 🐺😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
shares drop at M&S.
Marks & Spencer, for those who don’t is a major British multinational retailer that specialises in selling high quality clothing, home products and food products. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. M&S has been in financial difficulties awhile now and is to be demoted from the FTSE 100, Financial Times Stock Exchange for the first time in the latest sign of the declining fortunes of the retailer, which was a founding member of the leading City share index.
🎼 “ all in all it’s just another”🎼
Brick in the wall…..l remember this intensely from Pink Floyd album, The Wall! Grade ten l think, we were so scandalous😂😂😂, the line we don’t need no education we don’t need no thought control, we changed that line to birth control😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂oh we were rebels🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙃😁. Pink Floyd, by the way ,fantastic album, Dark Side of the Moon, another moon reference MM ANON! 🌕
Each and every time we see madam, it’s another piece of craziness, self aggrandizement, selfishness and all the while looking a mess. Her hair, which could have been in a high ponytail or braid or a hair and for goodness sakes, on a windy, the amount of time she spent fussing her hair was distracting, unprofessional and quite gross. Designer or off the rack, nothing ever fits right. She look exceptionally square shaped yesterday, l do believe SpongeMeg is her stylist! At least for yesterday!! Everything she does, is another brick in the wall of information gathering, and in building legal cases(cases).
“matter of fact, it’s all dark”
MM ANON, you must love Pink Floyd! MM ANON you have done your research to tie in the riddle with the full moon tonight 🌕. Dark side of the moon, lots of existential and scientific talk about this, it’s all dark, no only one side faces earth and the other the sun etc etc. However, we are referencing madam not Pink Floyd now. Everything she does, most of the things she has ever done are dark, selfish, a lot of vile, vulgar things and who knows what else. She present with an aura of “be wary”. Reading or listening to her “speeches” always self-focused. Nothing dude for humanitarian reasons, fauxmanitarian.
“not Christmas, not bloody ever”!
PP raging at the idea this charade will continue and they will have to have madam with them for Christmas
I can only imagine his anger and frustration!!
“Little Lottie, a lovable rebel that one”
This is referencing our beloved Princess Charlotte. Her nickname was Lottie in preschool, l think that is ever so sweet. She definitely has a mind of her own. One of my favourite memories is the day of Prince Louis’ Christening, as they walked out of the Chapel, she told the photographers assembled there for the photos for the press “YOU’RE NOT COMING!” I still chuckle at that. I look so forward to watching her grow up.
“the monarchy is secured”
With D AND D Cornwall, but ESPECIALLY long term the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who are such sound individuals will be excellent when times comes for William to be King and Catherine Queen. They have a beautiful family, the children are being so well raised as well rounded individuals. The Monarchy is safely secured, God willing, for several generations.
“an adventure playground, no your highness’ no! an adventure PARK”
Catherine and the team did a superb garden for the Chelsea flower show. It was beautiful and lovely watching the Cambridge children playing there. The Duchess of Cambridge surprised guests as she joined Mary Berry, of The Great British Baking Show and her books fame, at the Back to Nature festival at RHS Wisley in Woking on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2019. Kate, 37, returned to work as she opened the new site, which has been inspired by the original design she created with Adam White and Andree Davies for the Chelsea Flower Show in May. The Back to Nature Garden includes features from the original garden at RHS Chelsea, including the hollow log and boulders from the waterfall, as well as the wildflower meadow, hidden burrow and rolling hill from RHS Hampton.
Both Kate and Mary joined children on a ride in a trailer pulled by a tractor through the grounds to the site of a Back to Nature Garden Festival taking place at Wisley until September 15. New elements include a “bouncing forest”, where visitors can jump on trampolines surrounded by trees, two treehouses, linked via a walkway with slides, and a living willow pod. The garden at RHS Wisley will be a permanent feature for children and families to enjoy. The project for Kate has been part of her work on early years and how spending time outdoors can benefit young children. The Duchess even brought along her own children to play in the Back To Nature Garden before its grand opening this summer. The Cambridges released rare footage of Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis helping their mum to collect moss, leaves and twigs to decorate the garden.
The DOC is marvellous, anything she puts herself into , succeeds, what a blessing she is to us all. She and William, have given us so willingly entry into their family life, appropriately. We love them for it because we absolutely love each of their children uniquely!💜💜💜

30th January 2019
This is a new idea that Jane suggested because I have various things niggling at the moment and I can’t quantify them.  So this is a very private blog diary just monitoring how I’m feeling and where I’m at.  I might share it with friends or I might not.  Why put it on a public platform?  Well pressing post makes you really feel you’ve set the feelings free and put it out there even if no one actually reads it.  It worked for me before when I was getting a load of stuff out of my system regarding a failed engagement, cheating and a pretty intense relationship with a much older man who had 3 children.
Where am I at today?  Bloody knackered.  I’ve basically called in sick all week with a recurrence of a cold that didn’t have major symptoms but made me feel crappy and subhuman.  I’ve fought through it a bit to work in extreme cold and also to go an a weekend with friends in York which of course I did enjoy but I also didn’t enjoy it as much as I should have.  It felt way too short.  I need a get away from my life at the moment.  There are a lot of hard decisions to face and I know I’m not managing them all that well.
So to recap what got me to where we are today:
In 2014 I moved to Oxfordshire to set up a cheesemaking dairy.  It was a brand new start for me and had the promise to be an exciting chapter in my life.  I learned a lot from it  - how to plan a new building specifically for a cheesemaking facility, how to find the site, plan the layout, source the milk, decide on a marketable recipe, build a brand (not the first time I’d been involved in branding to be fair) and not least but troubleshoot a recipe which ended up being the achilles heel. As it turned out the milk production standards weren’t really up to the recipe we wanted to make.  After months of cheese we didn’t want to sell, I was made redundant. I don’t want to be bitter but I feel there were some bad commercial decisions made by my business partner who was meant to be in charge of sales.  She charged ahead with full scale production when the cheese wasn’t good enough to sell at full price and she also gave away vast amounts of cheese which could have been sold for at least a price that covered costs.  All of this lead to a financial crisis and that was it - I was gone.
Before that happened, I had what had was a life changing holiday around the world which happened just as the cheesemaking dairy was opening and needing to go into production - it was 6 months over schedule. It was a revelation though.  I flew to countries I had never visited and had to negotiate them by myself.  I had a couple of days in Dubai, flew through Singapore (never left the airport to be fair so it doesn’t really count), flew on to Australia and from there to New Zealand after a very brief overnight stay in a hotel near the airport and from there after driving solo around South Island to Sydney, the Cook Islands, Santa Monica, San Francisco and then home.  It took 6 weeks and it really made me feel confident; not least because after years of being invisible to any guys out there but I got attention in every place I touched down in - some rather more meaningful than others to be fair. In Dubai, I connected with our desert tour guide who was a worker from Pakistan living in the UAE (not Dubai it’s far too expensive but the more restrictive Sharjah where women’s rights are quite seriously undermined).  He was an outsider but loved the desert and remembering the way the Namib desert had made me feel many years ago, so did I.  Our fellow travellers were good time tourists so there seemed a contrast between them enjoying the desert safari tourist activities and me just enjoying the culture of the country and the stillness of the desert.  i know that makes me sound extremely up myself but I can’t think of another way to describe it.  He asked me out on a date which never happened and in retrospect that was a good thing.  I would never have realised that things like holding hands with a potential romantic partner are forbidden in Dubai nor would I have realised that normal activities like kissing a first date can actually get you taken to prison.  After Dubai, I flew to New Zealand but happened to talk to my co passenger on the flight to Adelaide and have a very interesting conversation about colonialism and England’s position in Australia - not heavy - we joked about it - food for thought all the same which s the point of travel after all.  In New Zealand, I met up again with lovely friends I hadn’t seen for years and also met up with my sister and her boyfriend and my friend Cathi’s family who welcomed us as part of their big, lovely family too. It was an amazing time to feel so incredibly accepted and welcomed. And again I connected with someone, my friend’s older brother (also the only other single person there - I may have decided unlike me to flirt a bit with him as we were the only singletons there).  He was a lovely, funny, warm guy who as a chef was a great person to cook with and this was an area we had in common.  After the wedding ended and we moved on to normal life (him) and the rest of my holiday (me) we stayed facebook friends and he often is one of the first people to like my posts even to this day because he’s a genuinely great person. In Sydney, i went out to dinner with my uber glamorous friend Cristiana and because she’s open, chatty and lovely we ended up on a communal table in a restaurant when we went out for a meal and she got involved in conversation with a noisy group of guys sat to our left.  One of them was looking at me and when I went for a ‘comfort break’ he actually approached Cris to say I was lovely and ask who I was! From Sydney I flew to the Cook Islands where I met a lovely lady (not in thet way) who invited me to go swimming with her family after the kids got back from school and who took me down the road to my hostel to collect my swimming things on her motorbike.  My first time on a motorbike and frankly a bit terrifying.  I also get ogled which hadn’t happened in let’s say about 20 years in London.  In San Francisco, a waiter who I had quizzed about local cheeses and wines slipped me his telephone number on my bill.  I didn’t find it until I sorted my receipts back in the UK and hadn’t fancied him anyway so just as well but all helps the ego doesn’t it?  Especially when you’re over 40 at the time and have resigned yourself to no one finding you attractive anymore.
Anyway so that’s my trip and there was so much more too that I don’t have time to write about. The key thing is that I came back feeling much more empowered and confident.  I had travelled the world by myself and not only that but after years feeling invisible I had finally felt attractive again.  Boosted by this, I decided to take action, try internet dating again and this time I actually met someone.  I was a bit concerned about meeting him - he was openly into kink and sexual things I wasn’t experienced in but as well as that he was warm, made me laugh and I was interested.  I wasn’t openly attracted to him when we met.  There was certainly something there - we had been very open when messaging and honest and I fancied his personality but as usual on a first internet date, the nerves kicked in and it was difficult when we first said hello to feel anything much.  I knew that would happen though so when I couldn’t think of anything to say to him and he moved in for a reassuring hug, I decided to turn it into a chemistry test and effectively snogged his face off for about 90 minutes until our table reservation was ready.  That certainly broke the ice so conversation flowed more easily afterwards and I made moves to go back with him to his place after the meal where I could test the theory further.  I was relieved and rather pleased to find that the attraction wasn’t just based on text messages and being a gentleman he also drove me home and stayed in touch afterwards.  We met up a few times and eventually decided to get together.  I would never have had the courage to do this if I hadn’t had my empowering holiday and since we’re still together despite the odds 4 years later it was definitely a good move.
However this was all very new when I was made redundant. He assured me he wouldn’t be going anywhere but it was too soon to move in together so I moved all my 3 bedroom house’s worth of belongings back to my parents’ house in Marple and looked for a job. I emailed anyone I could think of to explain I was looking for work and found somewhere in London that seemed a great match.  It was with a Spanish importer looking to improve their cheese maturation and whose owner I had worked with before  when setting up Borough Market in London.
Unfortunately although the interview went well, the owner wanted to work with me and my references thought it was a given, I failed their HR tests and I have to be honest it knocked my confidence extremely badly. I took another job that seemed exciting and had been a second choice due only to location - north Yorkshire, a long way away from the lovely new boyfriend.
I worked with them for 3 months before again, redundancy. This time, they great ideas they had had for expansion which I was a key part of, had to be put on hold because of a disastrous Christmas in which various storms flooded large parts of the north of England and cut into their sales. By this time, I had bought a house nearby and now had to find a new job and work out what to do with a house I had hoped to make a home.
Initially I had looked to resurrect the house which had at the time all the hallmarks of having been owned by an elderly couple who loved it and had also done nothing to it since probably the 1960s in a way i would live in.  The plans changed to make it something that could be sold or rented and without wishing to be dramatic, with that a little bit of me died at losing my home.
I didn’t wallow though, there was work to be done.  The house needed substantial work including rewiring, replastering, a new kitchen and new decorating and floors throughout.  By the time it was finished it was actually rather lovely.  I felt sad that i wasn’t going to live in the results of our work and sad that I wouldn’t be living in a beautiful part of the country. Actually I felt very sad not to be living in a house whose renovations I had initially begun with a view to making it my home. But again I had been looking around for another job although with a heavier heart this time.  Being knocked back 3 times will do that to you. This time I had a message from a friend who makes cheese in Suffolk and her cheeses are extremely well regarded so helping her albeit on a basis that wouldn’t be full-time seemed like a great idea.  We tried it out and she reckoned I could work 2-3 days a week although with some big changes to the recipe as she was currently making cheese at midnight and cat napping to accomodate the make schedule.
So I moved to Bungay in Suffolk.  It was different - flat lands where I am used to seeing hills, but it had an artistic, musical community and I  started to look at property prices again wondering about living there if the job worked out.
I had been there a month when Brexit happened.
My constituency was a big Brexit voting area.  I saw people in my local co op looking afraid when their children spoke polis to them.  I began to feel much less welcome myself.  It seemed there was a big difference between the artistic fringe in the area and the locals who resented anyone who moved in whether they were Polish or just from Marple.  I stopped feeling welcome.  I actually felt observed, scrutinised and as though I didn’t belong.  iI felt like Roystn Veasey.  ‘You’re not local are you?’
The vote itself upset me more than I realised it could.  I spent months watching the 2012 Olympics ceremony which was a celebration of multicultural Britain and crying my eyes out as racist hate crimes increased across the country and in he wake of right wing extremists killing the pro-Muslim MP Jo Cox.  During the football in the Europe that preceded the vote as violance and yobbishness hit 1908s levels among chants of ‘We’re leaving the EU and we don’t care’, I could see what the results of the vote were going to be.  An MP was murdered and my worst fears were confirmed.  And yet 52% of the country still cast their votes with a racist ideology and Nigel Fargae’s openly racist campaigning.  If I had been concerned about EU corruption and taking back control, his anti muslim poster and the rise of race crime before the referendum empowering racists to openly abuse people in public in a way they had not felt able to for over 30 years would have convinced me this vote was not going the way I hoped and I would have changed my mind.  I respect anyone who did this and I can not forgive anyone who didn’t.

Pundit and the Wicked Soul
Once a cruise ship was ferrying people from India, Pakistan, Japan and Israel on a ‘round the world' tour when it got stranded and started trembling menacingly.
The ship became very slow and was shaking and jumping dangerously.
The Captain of the ship called an emergency meeting and studied the danger. Ultimately he told the passengers in a very sad tone, 'Friends, we are in serious trouble. Perhaps the Sea God is angry with us because there is a wicked soul traveling with us. We need to give three sacrifices to please the Sea God and I need three healthy people to sacrifice their lives happily so that rest of us can be saved.'
Listening with awe and disbelief all the passengers moved towards the Deck with heavy steps. A brave Japanese came forward and offered himself as first sacrifice considering himself as a wicked man because he was addicted to wine, so that others can be saved. He gutted a bottle full of wine and with a cry, 'Long live Japan,' and jumped into the Sea. He disappeared in the waves.
Then a brave Israeli Jew stepped forward and offered himself happily as another sacrifice because he has killed hundreds of Palestine to protect the lives of fellow Israelis and protect his country. So he considered himself as a wicked man and decided to offer himself to save the lives of others and uttered, 'Hallelujah' and dived into the sea.
After that there was a hushed silence and no one came forward for few seconds while people stared at each other with fear. The ship was trembling dangerously and at any moment could have drowned. The Sea God’s anger was not soothed with two sacrifices.
A Pakistani Maulvi, wearing a round skull cap, long kurta, short salwar, face without moustache but long floating beard, was laughing continuously on this tension. He was very regular in offering his prayers and observing fast. Every year, he also used to slaughter a helpless, bleating goat as offerings to please his God. So he was not afraid about his life and safety. He was fully confident that nobody could harm him.
Now nobody was ready to offer himself as offering to please the Sea God and save the lives of others. All of a sudden out of nowhere a Pundit from India came forward near the railing and started chanting loudly, ‘Jai Shree Ram, Jai Shree Krishna, Jai Maa Kali, Jai Maa Durga, Jai Hanuman, Om Namoha Shiva, Om Ganeshay Nameha, Om Surya Devay Nameha, Om Shani Devay Nameha, Jai Jawan Jai Kissan, Jai Bharat Mata, Jai Hind Jai Bharat, Jai Sanatan Dharma,' and finally yelled at the top of his voice, 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai,' and with full force kicked the Pakistani standing next to him in the sea.
The sea became calm that night and the wrath of the Sea God was soothed. Sailing became smooth and enjoyable. Everybody was happy and relieved and thanks Pundit ji profusely over his wise and deep insight and identifying the wicked soul on the ship and kicking him out of the ship.
Do not kill or harass any body for your own religious faith or for your own happiness. It is a crime against God as all are created by God. So if you kill His creation, you are a sinner.

Seven Encounters (Modern Royalty AU)
I have a couple of the chapters already written out, so I'll be posting pretty quick at first. Enjoy!
summary: It took seven times for Emma Nolan to realize she loved His Royal Highness Prince Killian, but it only took him two times to realize he would chase her to the ends of this earth.
Ao3
FF
The Second Encounter
He’s nervous. Killian fought hard to be sent here, but he’s still nervous. His father couldn’t understand why he wanted to go. It was a simple diplomatic mission, anyone could go. Killian told him that it was a sensitive situation and it needed the delicate touch he could provide. That seemed to do the trick and the King said he could go and the Prime Minister was thrilled to send him because it meant he didn’t have to send someone from his office to replace the ambassador who was currently in the hospital recovering from a heart attack.
Killian is on his way to the White House to advise Madam President on the potentially dangerous situation between India and Pakistan. As kids Killian and Liam were tutored on all countries where there were colonies and have extensive knowledge on the area and it’s politics. After the ambassador, Killian is the next best choice.
Now he’s sitting on the Royal family’s jet speeding towards Washington D.C. and all he can think about is Emma Nolan. Killian knows she’ll be there. He wants to see her, she’s all he has been able to think of for months. He hopes to see her, but don’t know if he will. For now he can’t think of her though he has to focus on the situation at hand.
Prince Killian is met at the White House the next day by The President’s chief of staff, Ruby Lucas.
“It’s an honor to meet you, Your Royal Highness,” she says with a broad smile.
“It’s lovely to meet you, but please it’s Killian. Your Royal Highness is too formal,” he jokes. They move into the lobby of the White House.
“First time at the White House?” she asks and he nods looking around, “I don’t have time to give you a tour, but follow me to my office.” He nods and follows her through several rooms full of offices and cubicles with people hard at work. They make it to her office and she shuts the door.
“Now the President is currently in the situation room, but as soon as she returns she will see you. Until then please take a seat and feel free to ask my secretary, Ashley for anything and everything you need. I have to join the President now. Make yourself comfortable,” Ruby explains at top speed before dashing out of the room. Killian sits on the couch and waits and waits. Finally about twenty minutes later Ruby returns.
“Alright she’s ready to see you now,” Ruby says. Killian stands and follows her out of the room. Ruby opens a door that Killian thought was a closet, but turns out to be an entrance to the Oval Office. He’s still in shock slightly, it’s one thing to see it in pictures, but another thing altogether to see it in person. President Nolan stands and walks over to him.
“Prince Killian, it’s nice to see you again. Thank you so much for coming,” she says with grace. He shakes her hand.
“It’s no trouble, Madam President. We’re going to be working together rather closely, so please call me Killian,” he smiles.
“Then I insist you call me Mary. Please take a seat” she says and gestures at the couches. Ruby and Mary sit on one couch and Killian on the other.
“Mary, your chief of staff told me that you were in the situation room, so please tell me what you know so I can be of some assistance to you,” he says. The President automatically launches into telling him everything she can about the current situation and he listens.
--&--
Emma knows he’s in the building. That’s all anyone will talk about. Part of her wants to see him again, but the other part of her doesn’t. Once she sees him he’ll want to talk and that will probably lead to them kissing or more.
She’s been trying to put him, that kiss, out of her head for months now and it doesn’t help the fact that now not only is he in the same country as her, but in the same damn building. She’ll have to avoid the West Wing today and hope he doesn’t come over to the East Wing.
--&--
Mary and Killian’s conversation goes late into the day with interruptions throughout. Ideas are thrown out, some good and some bad. Killian advises to the best of his abilities and they finally take a break when the sun goes down. The president’s secretary, whom everyone calls Granny, pokes her head in.
“Ma’am, your husband called to remind you of dinner,” she says with a disapproving look.
“I completely forgot. Tell him I’ll be there in five minutes,” Mary tells her secretary. Her attention turns to Killian.
“Please join us for dinner. When an update comes in on a situation you’ll still be in the building,” she argues.
“I wouldn’t want to impose on your dinner,” he says unsure of why she’s so adamant on having him for dinner.
“It’s not and if you need extra incentive Emma will be there,” she says with an all too knowing smirk. That absolutely gets his attention.
“I gladly accept your invitation then,” he says and a grin crosses her face.
“Very well then follow me,” Mary says. They stand and Mary exits the Oval Office through the portico doors. They walk toward the residence and into the dining room. Seated at the table are David and Emma Nolan.
“You brought a guest,” David says as him and his daughter stand.
“That I did. It’s going to be a long night, so I invited him to dinner,” Mary smiles and kisses her husband. Emma and Killian finally make eye contact.
“Emma, lovely to see you again,” Killian says with a smile.
“Your Royal Highness, it’s nice to see you again,” she says curtly. Of course her mother invited him to dinner. Emma should have seen this one coming a mile away. Her mother is the biggest meddler she knows. So, naturally she invites Killian to come to dinner. About a month after they came back Mary started asking about Killian and Emma denied that anything happened, but Mary knew better. Emma’s pretty sure Mary figured out that something happened between her and the prince.
“We’ve been through this, love. It’s Killian,” he says thrown by the change in her tone with him. Another place is set at the table for him. Seeing him is harder than she imagined it would be. It doesn’t hurt that he has stubble scattered across his face, somehow it makes him look even more handsome when Emma didn’t think that was possible.
“What would you like to drink?” David asks him.
“After today some rum would do the trick,” Killian says and David laughs. The porter brings Killian a glass of rum. They all take a seat at the table and dinner is served. Killian cannot help but to glance at Emma every few minutes. She’s just as beautiful in jeans and a sweater as she is in an evening gown.
“What have you been up to since our visit to England?” David asks in between bites of his dinner.
“I have been finishing up my deployment with the Navy,” he says.
“That must keep you rather busy,” Mary comments.
“It does, but I am sure to have new responsibilities at home,” he says. Emma has said nothing to him and it’s odd. They got along so well before. He knows the kiss changed things, but that was as much his choice as it was hers. Now she barely even looks at him.
“On your last visit you mentioned that you were looking at art schools, did you decide on one, Emma?” Killian says never taking his eyes off her. She finally looks him in the eye. She’s been stealing glances at him for most of dinner, but only when he wasn’t looking at her.  Now he is and she’s starting to wonder why she thought she should distance herself from him. Then the weight of the swan pendant on her chest reminds her to not trust anyone.
“Yes, I am attending Camberwell in October,” she says with a tight lipped smile. Her father sighs at this.
“The Smithsonian still has a spot for you and it’s closer to your mother and I,” David says, in an attempt to change her mind.
“Dad,” Emma says in a warning tone. This is clearly a sore subject between the father and daughter.
“David, Emma loved our trip to England. It will be a wonderful experience for her,” Mary says with a smile. The tension in the room eases.
“I’m glad to hear we won you over. London is the greatest city, you’ll love it,” Killian says with pride.
“I’m certainly looking forward to it,” Emma responds with a faint smile. Her mother thinks she’s going to Camberwell for a certain prince with striking blue eyes, but she’s not. She loves the program and London. Honestly a little space between her and her parents wouldn’t be the worst thing either. The rest of dinner goes well. At the end of dinner Mary and David exchange a look and Mary stands.
“David, come help me with desert,” Mary demands in a soft tone. David follows her out of the room, looking rather confused. Leaving Killian and Emma alone for the first time. Her mother is the queen at meddling,
“Well that was subtle,” Killian chuckles.
“It’s never been her strong suit,” Emma affirms.
“Can we please talk about what happened last time?” Killian asks her and the tension in the room doubles instantly. She doesn’t want to talk about that kiss. Talking about it may lead to another kiss.
“What is there to talk about?” she asks coldly as she crosses her arms.
“Look if I overstepped I am truly sorry, but I wish for us to be friends if that’s possible,” he continues on, ignoring her icy tone.
“You didn’t overstep. We both participated,” she conveys, never quite being able to bring her eyes to look at him.
“I must have read the situation wrong then, I thought there was something,” he says.
“There still is,” she almost whispers. His head snaps toward her, taken aback by her comment. He doesn’t know what it means for them. He’s about to open his mouth when Madam President walks in with Miss Lucas.
“Sorry to interrupt, but we have to go,” Miss Lucas says with a pointed look. Killian stands and looks at Emma.
“We’ll finish this later,” he asserts and she simply nods. Killian follows Mary and Ruby out of the room.
Emma scolds herself. Why on earth did she say that? He’s just going to come and find her later. She should’ve shut him down. Why didn’t she? She can hear her mother’s voice in her head saying, it’s because you like him, Emma. Which she does, there’s no point in denying that anymore. What the hell is she going to do about His Royal Highness Prince Killian?
--&--
Hours later a ceasefire is negotiated between India and Pakistan, but it’s only for a week. Tonight there is nothing left to be done, but tomorrow there will be more work to do. Madam President dismissed him having to attend to other matters. He should head back to his hotel and get some sleep, but he can’t get Emma out of his mind. He inquires her whereabouts from the president’s helpful secretary, who tells him she’s in her studio in the residence.
He manages to find his way and gently knocks on the door. He hears a muffled come in and opens the door. Emma sits with his back to him. She traded her sweater from dinner with a baggy white shirt covered in speckles of paint. Her hair swept into a messy bun. She turns to face him with a paintbrush in hand.
“I was told I would find you here,” he says with his hands stuffed in his pockets.
“Well I wasn’t hiding. I’m here most of time,” she says turning back to the easel, setting down her brush. He moves closer to her glancing at what she’s painting. It’s a landscape that appears to be the view from Truman Balcony. It’s quite breathtaking she definitely has talent.
He’s standing so close to her it’s as if her whole body is thrumming from his proximity.
“What you’re painting is beautiful and quite the exclusive view you have there,” he says glancing at her once again. Her green eyes piercing him.
“What did you mean earlier?” he asks her, not wanting to break their eye contact. She sucks in a deep breathe before she answers him. He deserves answers to why she ran out on him all those months ago.
“That there is something between us…” she trails off.
“When we kissed you ran out. Something upset you. That much was clear,” he says an eyebrow raised.
“You caught me off guard. I don’t trust many people and I don’t let people in. You were getting too close, so I ran,” she rambles on.
“If you keep those walls up you’re never going to let anyone in. If you truly don’t to pursue anything I understand, but I have the feeling you do. I think you’re afraid,” he states and thinks he hit the mark by the way her shoulders tense up.
“How can you say that, we barely know each other,” she says extremely sceptical, he expected nothing less.
“You’re sort of an open book, love.” Killian smirks. Her brow furrows at his statement. Before she can say anything the doors crash open and three secret service agents charge into the room.
“Bloody hell, what-” Killian exclaims before he’s interrupted.
“Swan is secure. Do not leave this room,” August says as he shuts the door behind him. Great, another crash. Killian frowns at the use of Swan, surely he is referring to Emma, but why swan?
“Guess we’re stuck here for a while,” she sighs. He grabs a stool and sits next to her.
“Why Swan?” Killian asks her, curious.
“It’s my secret service codename. I like swans. Always have, in fact the ugly duckling was my favorite story as a kid,” she says, thinking about  her swan pendant reminding her to not trust anyone.
“Are the codenames always so personal?” he asks.
“Actually they are. Mom is Eagle partially due to her love for birds, also every president has had something extremely patriotic. Dad is shepard because of his work with animals,” she says fondly.
“That’s creative. I think I’ll have to call you Swan from now on,” he teases and she just rolls her eyes.
“What do you think happened?” Killian asks her.
“It’s spring recruitment it’s probably some frat boy who jumped the fence,” she dismisses it, “How much longer do you have with the Navy?”
“Just a couple of months really. I’ll be done when you start classes,” he answers.
“What are you going to do with yourself?” she teases him, glad that they have changed subjects.
“I am not sure yet. I’m sure that’s a conversation my father is dying to have with me,” he says, irritated at the thought.
“You don’t seemed to thrilled about it,” Emma suggests.
“Conversations between us haven’t gone well lately. My brother and him have a better relationship than him and I,” he explains.
“I am sorry to hear that, but I have to say I understand. Ever since I decided on Camberwell things have been tense between my dad and I,” she shrugs.
“I noticed at dinner,” Killian replies.
“Mom says that he’s worried about security and we’ve never been in different countries for months at a time. I just think he’s going to be bored without me here,” she states.
“Probably true. It's evident he loves and cares for you though, so don't be too harsh on him. Does it always take this long for a frat boy, as you call it?” he asks.
“Not usually. That was my best guess. I don’t know it could be any number of things,” she shrugs.
“I'm sure it's nothing too threatening or they would've moved us,” he says in an attempt to reassure her. He places a hand on her knee and it's more soothing than she expected.
When she finally looks at him again she almost stops breathing. She's always noticed how blue his eyes were, but tonight they are different. Something about them is almost electric. She had the sense when they met that he could see right through her and tonight that was confirmed. He could read her like a book. He understood her for some odd reason. It almost makes her want to trust him, to let him in. She’s running out of reasons to not trust him. Maybe kissing him again will get it out of her system. Maybe it won’t be as good as the last one and it will loose some of the magic from it.
Without a word she slips off her stool and onto his lap. He's not stunned by this movement. They seem to have syncopated moves, like they've done this their whole lives. Her hands cradle his face and she gently kisses him. At first it's soft and sweet. It's full of gentle touches and tender movements. Then a switch is flipped and they become more eager. Each wanting to taste the other. His hands tighten on her hips holding her in place and she pulls on his hair causing him to groan into the kiss.
Just as his hand is about to slip under her shirt the door opens and August enters. Seeing what became of the two the agent blushes. The embarrassed pair untangle themselves. Emma was completely wrong. That kiss was equal if not better than the last. What’s worse is she wants more.
“We've been given the all clear, Miss Nolan.” August blushes not making eye contact with either of them.
“Thanks, August,” Emma says and the agent scurries out. The pair laugh at the agent's departure. When true laughter dies down a look is shared between them. She doesn’t have to trust him to take him to bed. He’s far too good at kissing to be bad in bed.
“Would you like to finish this somewhere else?” She asks with a seductive smile.
“Of course lead the way, Swan,” he teases her as they walk out of the room together. Emma rolls her eyes at this.
As soon as the door to her room shuts he kisses her against the door. It nearly takes her breath away because of the intensity of the kiss. All he has thought about for months was seeing her again and holding her in his arms. He doesn’t want to waste a minute of it. And he won’t.
She tugs on his shirt until it becomes untucked from his pants. His hands move under her shirt and they part briefly so her shirt can move over her head. She works quickly on his buttons. They walk back until his calves hit the edge of the bed. Once his shirt is off he works on getting her pants off. She has some difficulty with his belt (mostly because he won’t stop kissing her neck and it’s very distracting), but she gets it off without his help. They both step out of their pants. Killian scoops Emma into his and places her on the bed. Killian pulls her to the edge of the bed and peppers kisses up her thighs. He slips her underwear down her thighs and sucks her clit. She bites her lip to keep herself from screaming out, her hands gripping the sheets because holy shit he knows what’s he doing and most men don’t. Not able to take it anymore she stops him.
“Something wrong, love?” he smirks.
“Nothing is wrong, but I need you now,” she says pulling him on top of her. He kisses her softly and her fingers weave into his hair. He slides into her ever so slowly. Their movements are gentle and sweet. It’s about halfway through that Emma realizes that he’s making love to her and what surprises her is that she doesn’t mind it. She slips her hand into his and kisses him. He knows she has walls and she’s protective of her heart. At this moment in time he gets to be with her and he doesn’t intend to not show her how he feels. He can’t tell her how he feels now. It would just scare her off, so for now he’ll have to show her through his actions.
When they finish it is the early hours of the morning. Emma rolls over to look at Killian.
“When are you returning to England?” she asks.
“Depends on how this situation plays out, but maybe tomorrow or a couple days from now I suspect. Trying to see me again?” he smirks and she rolls her eyes.
“Look, I know we lead busy lives, but I would like to see you again,” he says his eyes never leaving hers. This gives her pause. She likes him and the sex was amazing, but can she trust him? Just maybe.
“I want to see you again, but I won’t be in London until end of September. I don’t really know where to go from here,” she says, unsure. Killian knows that she may not be ready just yet, but he’ll wait. She was different. She was charming, witty, bright, and an angel. He hasn’t even spent that much time with her and he knows he would do just about anything for her. She’s not someone you let slip through your fingers. He’ll wait for her, she’s worth it.
“We both have a lot going on right now and I want us to be something. I don’t want to do that if we’re distracted. How about when you get to London we’ll give it a try,” he says as he brushes some of her hair out of her face.
“Alright,” she nods, nothing definite. Just them giving this a shot whatever it is. She can do that, right? He pulls her close to him and they fall asleep like that.
--&--
The next morning the President needs him once again and he has to leave. He finds some paper and scribbles out a note to Emma. Miss Lucas is waiting for him in the hallway outside Emma’s room with a smirk on her face.
“What?” he asks defensively.
“You know the president is going to notice you’re wearing the same clothes from yesterday,” she says smugly.
“I’m sure you already told her where I was,” he says as they move out of the residence.
“Yes, I did. The look on your face was funny though,” she smiles.
“Was it now? Miss Lucas, I’m starting to think you like seeing my life get more difficult,” he teases.
“I’m Emma’s godmother. This wouldn’t be any fun if I didn’t get to watch you squirm,” she teases him right back.
“Ah I see, so this is a family affair,” he says as they wait outside the Oval Office.
“Exactly. You’re a quick learner. You’ll do just fine,” she smiles.  They are waved in and the work begins.
--&--
In the morning Emma wakes up alone in her bed and she wonders if she dreamed the whole thing. She finds a note on her pillowcase and it confirms that everything that happened last night was real. The note reads:
Emma, sorry I couldn’t be there when you woke up. I might have to return home this evening if I don’t see you again my number is listed below. I’ll be waiting for your call.
Emma smiles at the note and leaves it on her night stand. She may not see him again on this trip, but she’ll see him again.

Grappling with Pakistan's 'influence operations': When the patriarchy moves in to silence a female critic
For some 10 years, I have relentlessly exposed Pakistan's influence operations against American scholars, analysts, journalists and the institutions that employ them and rely upon their ability to raise funds to support the organisations' overhead costs and salaries. Through this basic economic necessity, most of the think-tanks in Washington, DC and the writers who focus on South Asia have been coopted by Pakistan's influence operations because these individuals have generally positioned themselves as Pakistan-whisperers to private and public funders.
This renders them dependent on Pakistani visas and access to officials in and out of uniform. The result is chilling: Analysts who know better — or ought to know better — self-censor to retain this access. In the process, they have become witting or unwitting assets to Pakistan. In response to my most recent criticism, two white men who are considerably senior to me, have turned to the popular tactic of appealing to my employer in an effort to silence me. Two senior men appealing to my leadership to discipline my voice or silence me altogether is white maleness in action. It is the patriarchy in action. In doing so, these individuals hope that I will temper my tone.
I will not.
On Monday 14 October, Michael Krepon who "co-founded the Stimson Center in 1989 and served as Stimson’s President and CEO until 2000, and who continues to direct Stimson’s programming" joined hands with Andrew Wilder, a “vice-president of Asia programs” at the United States Institute of Peace to draft a letter to the president of the organisation that employs me. They also contacted several other South Asia analysts in hopes that they would sign this letter. (I have reproduced the original letter below. Because some of the persons whom I know were contacted are not on this first email, I can assume that their first effort did not produce the anticipated yield of signatories and they reached into the lower benches of the field.)
The letter claims that my assertions about the ways in which Pakistani influence operations have shaped the policy debate to Pakistan’s benefit have coarsened the political discourse. What they seek to obfuscate is that these men do not contribute meaningfully to an empirically buttressed political discourse; rather, they contribute to an unrelenting parade of apologies for the most outrageous of Pakistani behaviours. It is they — not me — who have coarsened political discourse by introducing into it Pakistani talking points, preferred historical arguments, and representations for purposes of programmatic expedience and convenience as I explain below.
Given their seniority, in writing to the president of my employer, they are engaging in a form of bullying enjoyed by senior white men to silence agentive female critics, particularly those of us who are junior to the men who seek to muzzle us. This is the Old White Boys Club in its basest form appealing to oldest trick in the book of asking a senior man to discipline an uppity woman in his remit.
Michael Krepon has a history of sending me misogynist and condescending emails. He has accused me of “losing my way” as if I am a lost sheep and he is the masterly shepherd. When I chastised him for refusing to publicly acknowledge that he was a member of a task-force to re-examine US policies towards Pakistan much-less sign onto its recommendations, he rebuked me for daring to question his reservations about a report that recommended considering the possibility of considering sanctions against Pakistan at some indefinite point in a remote future.
I was not surprised by the language and tone used in this open letter, provided below, in which they reduced my concerns about the necrotic impact of Pakistani influence operations upon the public discourse surrounding that country as “eruptions” and consistently mischaracterised my descriptions of influence operations and their complicity in the same.
What are influence operations? A primer
While it is not uncommon for US officials to be seconded to other friendly nations for temporary duty assignments, Pakistan is not a friendly State. Its crimes include: Murdering thousands of Americans in and out of uniform as well as our NATO and non-NATO allies and tens of thousands of Afghans in addition to many thousands of Indians. Moreover, Pakistan — with lucrative and fungible American economic support–is fastest growing nuclear power inclusive of the development of battle-field nuclear weapons.
Pakistan uses this arsenal along with its petting zoos of terrorists to stoke the fears that “Pakistan is too dangerous to fail” and thus continues to coerce the United States to acquiesce to IMF bailouts and other forms of assistance. It is this verity that allows Pakistan to be near certain that there will be no FATF blacklisting and thus can view remaining on the “grey list” as a political victory. This is nuclear coercion in its crudest and truest form.
Yet it seems that there is literally no Pakistani crime which the witting objects of Pakistani influence operations won’t defend with three consistently and notable exceptions: Jeff Smith at the Heritage Foundation, whose integrity is beyond reproach and who is oddly not included in their missive; Ambassador (retired) Husain Haqqani of Hudson who has repeatedly outed the Derp State for its murderous hijinks; and the doyen of South Asian studies, Ashley Tellis of Carnegie, who never minces his words when it comes to Pakistan. The other gentlemen who opine and repine on South Asian affairs in DC refrain from criticism, engage in relentless “both side-ery” antics and traffic in false equivalence.
In this letter, both Krepon and Wilder, insinuate that I am suggesting that they are paid agents or have acquiesced to explicit quid pro quos with Pakistan. In fact I doubt that these are arrangements are so explicit as this courts jail time unless one is a legally registered foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Recent examples of persons who have been so convicted include Ghulab Nabi Fai and Nisar Ahmed Chaudhry.  Explicit quid pro quos are not only risky, they are unnecessary.
As I have written previously, Pakistan gets what it wants from its dupes without paying them a dime directly. Although, in many cases, the Pakistan government does subsidize their writings by paying for their airfares to and from Pakistan and/or by facilitating their travel within Pakistan to places like Waziristan where their travel would otherwise be prohibited. For example, in Pakistan: A Hard Country, Anatol Lieven subtly thanks the Pakistan Army for doing so.
For several years, the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, DC hosted academics and journalists on paid tours to Pakistan, which included trips to Waziristan to showcase the ostensibly successful efforts of the Pakistan Army. In exchange for such opportunities, analysts write favourable assessments without any credible baseline. For example, Michael Kugelman wrote enthusiastically about his trip to Waziristan which he concedes was arranged by the Pakistan Army in his piece for War on the Rocks, an influence blog for those engaged in political-military concerns in the United States.
I understand the professional requirement for some of these persons to cultivate visas and meetings with high-level Pakistani officials in and out of uniform because they have assured various funders of their ability to do work in Pakistan. Thus, visas and access allow them to launder grants into their organisations to pay for overhead and salaries. This dependence upon such grants and soft monies is precisely why such influence operations are so successful. Only persons who have no need for such hustles are truly free to speak their minds. Of course, one has choice about the projects they take on: They could always choose projects that do not require them to propitiate Pakistan's equities. Thus this bureaucratic reality is not exculpatory, rather explanatory.
I know this process of cultivation well, because the Pakistanis long tried to cultivate me but failed although I never let them pay for my international airfare and blogged about the various (often humorous) lies they sought to sell me. And I do remember when I worked for the United States Institute of Peace and at the RAND Corporation, I too was compelled to work in Pakistan. When I said things that pleased them, I was easily accommodated. Early in my career, when I made stupid mistakes about Kashmir, the Army Band actually serenaded me at a banquet. It played my then favourite raunchy song: Bilo da Ghar.
But I grew wiser, began engaging more primary source documents and evolved from a research assistant to a researcher and began using my voice commensurate with my growing stature, I recall very well the dread of submitting my visa after being particularly outspoken. When the Pakistanis first began signaling discontent with my positions, they began delaying the processing of my visa. It went from being processed in the same day to six weeks. Finally, they threatened me with violence and never issued me another visa. But in being rendered persona non grata, I have been rendered free to speak my mind. It’s a freedom I cherish. I no longer need to bite my tongue about Pakistan’s crimes. I no longer expect a red carpet in Rawalpindi stained with the blood of citizens, friends and allies.
Pakistan is not the only country that does this: China has done this for decades. Many scholars who built their careers around their China expertise can no longer return because their writings eventually discomfited the regime. Many scholars, reporters and analysts have been ousted from China for writing what needs to be written and saying what needs to be said. Israel, Russia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar are just a few of the countries that seek to discipline those who write about the country by calibrating access to officials or even access to visas, needed to visit the country.
I am right to continue to identify the impacts of Pakistani influence operations and this effort of organisational bullying will only prompt me to redouble my trenchant observations of this phenomenon and its outcomes. I will not sacrifice my integrity for a visa or any number of opportunities to be lied to by Pakistani officials. Nor will I let my colleagues off the hook because they do.

@ThePrintIndia which published the offending pieces wouldn't print the follow-up, whith First Post ran, ostensibly  because the editor is friends with Krepon. This is how MALE PRIVILEGE works, by the way.So, in a convoluted way, Gupta Sahab HIMSELF is working to suppress one of the few voices in DC that call this bullshit out.
Many apologies to @Ullekh for sending him this piece when I didn't know it had been published, albeit in a more abbreviated version.

Dear Eloise Green as portrayed by NATALIE,
Congratulations! On behalf of Cabot Creek University, I am pleased to announce your admission for Fall 2017!
The academic and personal accomplishments reflected on your application for admissions are exactly what Cabot Creek University embodies and represents.
We cannot wait to greet you this coming school year.
Please [ check here ] for further instructions on accepting the offer of admissions. We look forward to working with you.
Name, Age, Timezone, Pronouns: Natalie, 20, EST, She/Her/Her’s
✯ IC Questionnaire ✯ Answer the following OOC about your character:
Character name: Eloise Green
Character major: Her major is education, and specifically, Eloise wants to go on an early childhood education route. In her junior year of high school, Eloise took a class to fill a Home Economics graduation requirement, that was geared towards Early Childhood Development. In the class, not only did they learn about the different stages of development, but also had to do craft assignments one could put up to stimulate children on Fridays. Each student would also eventually spend two days job shadowing in an early education classroom. Through this, Eloise found that it is frankly the perfect fit for her. There was so much organization to it. Being able to just even teach, tell people what they should know without seeming condescending. And the kids, oh how she loved kids and caring for said kids. After that, she couldn’t see any other path to go on. She also has a minor in Sociology. She tended to always be interested in the social sciences and does see getting this knowledge of groups of people as also being very helpful when she is a teacher.
Clubs or sports: Gymnastics! She has been in gymnastics since she could walk and it’s the perfect way to get out everything she builds up inside her with her very type A personality. Other than Gymnastics, she does just throw herself into her school work, actual work, and friends, but she is also signed up for, and occasionally goes to events for, the Philosophy Club. She didn’t have some type of reason, which got a giggle at the first meeting when she said she didn’t really know why she decided to join it, but she just found herself interested in it.
Will your character have a job?: Yes, she is a cashier at Yaya Yogurt. It is not nearly what she would like to be doing, but for the sake that she even had to go to Cabot Creek was a tight financial situation, so she definitely needs to continue to make money whilst here. Also, hey, it gives customer service experience, something she sees as being helpful practice for when she has to spend 6 hours teaching a day, and especially when parents will want to talk about their children’s performances.
Give us a head canon about your character:
The first time Eloise watched Pretty Little Liars, it was weird, and “weird” may even be too light of a word for what she experienced. It took her over a year to get past the second episode, as when they showed Spencer, with her family, at that dinner, she saw her own family.
There was that high/low game, and the family was using it solely to brag about their victories in work and school, and that was what happened so much with Eloise. Even on Eloise’s birthday, every year, her parents would fill a room with all her accomplishments both from that year, and all years past, and they would “tour” it together. Eloise could always expect two gifts from her parents every single year, and that “tour of accomplishments” was one of them.
That game, though? While not exactly the same, because there would never be any lows, it was all trying to just beat out each other in highs, when her siblings would come over that was all that would happen at the dinner table. It was strange too, how they played it. On one hand, her parents wanted to win themselves. On another hand, they barely saw Eloise’s older siblings, with the closest sibling age-wise to Eloise was even 14 years older than her. On the final hand, Eloise was their baby, and a miracle baby at that due to how old her parents were when they conceived her, so of course they wanted their baby to win.
However, seeing that scene, it struck a nerve in her. She saw the body language that the actors were having their characters give off. She saw how it wasn’t supposed to be seen as normal, with Spencer’s sister’s fiancee not totally understanding it due to his ‘outsider’ status still when it comes to the family.
It was too weird to not only see something that resembles you that much on air but even have it shown it was actually something ‘weird’? ‘Taboo’, even? She couldn’t deal with it, couldn’t face that fact and continue on with the show, until over a year later.
Answer the following questions IC about your character. Feel free to use a gif to respond if you’d like:
What is an issue you feel most passionate about?: “The lack of education towards girls worldwide. Did you know, in Chad, there is a sixteen percent gap between literacy rates for men and women? And a twenty-one percent gap between boys and girls enrolled in primary school? And remember Malala Yousafzai, when the Taliban shot her in the head - nearly killed - for daring to want not only herself to be educated but other girls in Pakistan to receive education, too? And, coming from Oklahoma, it isn’t much better here either. I mean, I was from the city, but I knew more out in rural areas, once kids could drop out of school, they were having their daughters do so. And that’s not even touching on the school-to-prison pipeline in this country when it comes to students of color. It’s ridiculous. We need to focus caring towards all kids getting an education, it leads to opportunities like I have.”
Describe your thoughts on social media?: “This may contradict my caring for world wide stance just before, but I love my social media. Well, except MySpace, does anyone use that anymore? Like, seriously, do they? Or, Google Plus was a thing for a hot second because of Google and YouTube combining, but I don’t think anyone ever used that in the history of ever. Did they? Anyway, one may even call me a ‘social media whore’. I think if I have gone seventy-two hours without a post on Instagram, and twenty-four hours without a tweet on Twitter, you can assume something bad has happened to me. FaceBook, SnapChat, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tumblr … You know, I also love and have those, but especially pay attention to me and my activity on Instagram and Twitter. Oh, and Pinterest! I love doing projects I find on there so much! And I always post the completed project to my Instagram!”
What is your favorite fandom or movie or TV show or book series (choose one)?: “Untold Stories of the E.R.! Oh god, what a guilty pleasure of mine. I just find myself completely letting go watching it. It’s kind of nice, wow.”
Opinion on love and romance?: “I’ve been in about two long term relationships before. There was my high school sweetheart, Seth. Then I’m sure you know but I started dating Erica the beginning of freshman year here, but we broke up at the end of sophomore year. My relationships, they are always super romantic and I do feel I am in love, so yes. I think that exists. That idea of one true love, that there is some one person in Montenegro, who at this point in time could be barely a year old, that I won’t be happy until I am with? No, I don’t believe in that. But, yes, cynics, love is a real feeling, and with it, heartbreak is a real feeling too. And romance as a concept exists.”

“DANIEL KNIGHT, FBI! PUT THE GUN DOWN AND LET HIM GO!“ Emily shouted as she, Rossi, Reid and Tara aimed the their guns at Daniel.
“NO! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND! HE’S A TRAITOR! HE BETRAYED HIS COUNTRY! HE DESERVES TO DIE, JUST LIKE ALLL THOSE OTHER TRAITORS!” Daniel shouted as kept hold of the traumatised hostage.
Just then Y/N came in unarmed and just in her bulletproof vest with her arms up in the air“Daniel, I'm Agent Y/N Y/L/N of the FBI’s State Department and I need you to calm down for me okay?” Y/N said as she signalled to the others to holster guns, whilst Daniel pointed the gun at her
“HOW AM I MEANT TO TRUST YOU? YOUR JUST ANOTHER AGENT WHO DOESN’T DO THEIR JOBS CORRECTLY!” he shouted still holding the grip of the man he held hostage and edging his gun closer to his head and the trigger.
“Y/L/N!” Emily said trying to convince to stop whatever she was doing.
“Look I know what happened that day and it wasn't your fault, how were you supposed to know what would happen? If I was in that situation I would've done the same thing as you, anyone would” she explained still keeping her calm tone whilst speaking.
“SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! HE’S A TRAITOR CAN’T YOU SEE THAT?!” he shouted whilst hitting his head with his hand angrily.
“Yes I can and I know that he’s a traitor but traitors they don't deserve to die, they derserve to be put into prison for what they did, if you kill him, how is that justice?! how is that justice for this country, the victims families, you?! if you kill him, he wins you don't, this is what he wants you to kill him so he won’t have to live for he what he’s done but he will if you put the gun down I'll make sure he’s arrested and goes to a secure prison facility, so please out the gun down!” Y/N pleaded as she looked into the unsubs eyes hoping he would make the right choice
“I’ll put the gun down if you arrest him in front me.” Daniel said, his tone calmer and more anxious then before as he pushed the hostage away from him to the agents, who were still standing there.
“Okay that's fine, we’ll do that... guys one of you arrest the hostage.” Y/N said looking at the group of agents.
“Y/N are you sure?” Tara asked slowly starting to understand of what her plan was.
“Yes I’m sure please arrest him and take him away.” Y/N demanded as Tara nodded and her and Reid went up to the hostage and cuffed him as they walked out as the hostage cried out asking what was going on.
“See look he’s gone, he’s been arrested just liked I promised now please put the gun down just liked you promised okay?” Y/N said trying to convince the unsub to surrender.
“He will pay for his crimes!” Daniel pleaded hoping the agent in front of him wasn't lying.
“Yes he will pay for what he has done, I promise you he will and I'll make that he does.” Y/N said hoping the ex-solider would listen to her.
He slowly out the gun down and raised his arms in the air after listening to what she told him and looked at her and saw the trust in her eyes.
Y/N walked up to him and put his arms behind his back and cuffed him. “I’m doing this for your safety, okay? Y/N explained to him as he nodded agreeing with what she was doing.
“Daniel Knight I'm arresting for the murder of Kathy Hale, Luke Warrington, Charlotte Bradstone and Kai Smith, you have the right to remain silent, whatever you do say can or will be used as evidence in the court of law, you have a right to an attorney, one will be appointed to you if you cannot afford one. Do you understand your rights?” Y/N explained walking him out of the building and heading towards one of the police cars.
“Yes I understand my rights” he said as he was put into the car by one of the officers.
Y/N walked over to Tara who was about uncuff Daniel's hostage before Y/N stopped her.
“Tara wait don't do anything yet.” Y/N said as she went up to him to explain to him what was going on.
“Clyde Pullman your under arrest for sending top secret intel to the enemy, you have the right to remain silent, whatever you do say can or will be used as evidence in the court of law, you have a right to an attorney, one will be appointed to you if you cannot afford one. Do you understand your rights?” Y/N said whilst looking at him with her deadly stare as Tara kept a grip of him from do anything to the agent that was in front of him.
“Yes” he growled after a long pause realising that the man who was holding him hostage was right, as he was led a way by two other FBI agents to the SUV
Luckily the case was local one so the team were able to drive back to Quantico and not worry about having to fly back home if a case wasn't a local one. The team walked through the BAU doors walking to their desks and offices and discussing what they'll be doing over the weekend.
“So Y/N how did you know about what Pullman did?” JJ asked as she leaned on her desk waiting while Tara, Rossi, Reid, Luke and Garcia who had just joined them huddled around JJ’ s desk
“Well I realised once your unsub use to work in the military, I immediately knew that there was connection between the victims and his line of work, I contacted the state department to know what tours and assignments Daniel has been on and there was one where intel was leaked to the enemy and it cost many soldiers their lives, Daniel thought it was all his fault as he was the one who organised the assignment and probably still does even though he knew what happened, and a mole was suspected to be working within them.”  Y/N explained whilst everyone was shocked at what she was saying.
“wait so how did Daniel know who was the mole?” Luke asked still confused and shocked of the reveal.
“Daniel knew it couldn't be someone who was in the field but instead someone in the US who was helping them out, because communication out in the field is difficult and it would be hard to contact the enemy form their let alone the risk of being caught so he knew it was one of the victims as they were helping military out whilst still in the US but were working for the state department.” Y/N said hoping that they getting at what she was explaining to them.
“So Pullman and the rest of the victims were agents?” Reid asked hoping there wasn't a mole within the FBI.
“No they weren't agents they were sergeants who were assisting the state  department and Daniel had contact with them, and once the state department explained everything to me which took a while I got Garcia to go into everything about the victims and Pullman and where they’ve been who they contacted, what they bought and Garcia discovered Pullman made a couple of flights to Pakistan where they were working but he never visited the base.” Y/N said looking towards Garcia with a proud smile at what she discovered.
“Well if wasn't for initiative I'm pretty sure that Pullman would still be roaming the street.” Garcia said pointing at Y/N.
“When did this assignment happen?” Tara asked glad that they now know the full story.
“ugh, it happened from 2011 to late 2017 Daniel took over someone who left the assignment in 2011 as they wanted to go back to the US, I’m guessing they had to go on another assignment for the state department....and any ways I have a pile of files that have been left on my desk for the past three weeks waiting for them to be completed and I rather have the weekend off then having to spend my time completing them.” Y/N explained as she waved goodbye to the team and walked up to her office.
It was two hours later when Y/N got a text message from her phone and unlocked it to see what the message was.
‘Meet me outside the diner where we used to go before work now! Its Urgent!’
A face of worry appeared on Y/N face as she looked through the windows of her office to see only a few members of the team left working away in the bullpen. Y/N packed up her stuff and walked out of her office and into the bullpen but Luke stopped her from getting out of the building.
“Where are you going I thought you wanted to finish all of your files and paper work?” Luke asked worried about his friends quick leave out of the building.
“I'm meeting an old friend of mine and I can come in tomorrow a bit early to get the work done.” Y/N explained hoping Luke would believe her.
“Okay just don't stay too long at work tomorrow, paperwork can wait till Monday, okay Y/N? Luke said still worried about his friend.
“Okay I will, now please will you please let me pass?” Y/N asked nicely with a convincing smile on her face. Luke let her pass and he witnessed her walk out of the BAU doors. Y/N messaged the number letting them know that she was on her way as she headed towards the elevator.
‘I’ll be there in 10 minutes’
Y/N sat in her car looking for the person who messaged her and saw the front lights turn on and got out of the car and crossed the street and entered the car.
“What the hell is going on, for you to message me when I was so close to finishing my paperwork, you should know about that as you've experienced it before as well?!” Y/N said cried out annoyed at her old friend.
“I messaged you because something happened, you know that assignment you worked on that happened a year ago?” the man in the dark suit said trying to explain to her what was going on.
“Yeah I remember that case and I thought we agreed that we would never talk about this.” Y/N said knowing what he was about to say to her.
“Well at 7:09 this morning at Port Everglades, Florida boxes of sodium cyanide and ammonium nitrate were found.” the man explained to her as she looked at him with shock in her eyes.
“WHAT! Are you sure? those were the same ones used by the Bomber in the Tianjin explosion in 2015 who assisted  Cat Adams in that restaurant that nearly killed some of the member's of the BAU and innocent civilians as well as LEOs and SWAT and after that we made sure to search ports to make sure something like this doesn't happen and these chemicals were involved in that case.” Y/N said trying to remember and collect herself of what was being told to her.
“Well we know that agents go to the ports to check the shipping's but we also know that there was a mole, so there’ s a possible chance that these chemicals are already in the US as they could've contacted anyone on the ship to not head to one of the ports that agents were searching and change direction and head to other ports around country.” the man explained to a distressed Y/N.
“But how?! We know that the mole was killed we profiled them and we got it wrong, he was killed in that explosion!” Y/N shouted hitting her hands on the dashboard in anger.
“Y/L/N you may believe that we got the profile wrong just like everyone else does, but you and I both know that the mole is still out there and used the man that was killed in the explosion to make us believe that we got it wrong and remember that explosion wasn't your fault.” the agent explained looking at Y/N with sympathy.
“Have any threats been made as that's what happened the last time and why the state department took the case in the first place and its in their M.O.” Y/N asked hoping that the unsub hadn't made a head start.
“So far no threats has been made but Police Departments and FBI offices around the country are keeping an eye out.” the agents explained to Y/N trying to calm her down.
“How about I take you over there and you can see what’s going on for yourself rather than me explaining it to you.” He asked Y/N but a smile popped up on her face as she realised what she said to Luke earlier.
“Actually I told the team that I was visiting an old friend and since your an old friend why don't we go into the diner like we used to do before I left?” Y/N suggested with a cheeky grin left on her face.
“Well then I guess we should after all we are near it.” He said agreeing with Y/N as he took of his seatbelt, ready to get out of the car.
“And your paying Hotch, I paid the last time and you owe for distracting me from my paperwork.” Y/N said as they both got out of the car and headed towards the Diner.
“Fine I guess I do owe you” Hotch chuckled as he and Y/N walked into the Diner.
Tumblr media
Unknown to the two the them, from down the street someone with a camera was taking photos of the two of them and  put away the camera and pulled the window back up and drove away past the Diner where Y/N and Hotch at near the window, like they use to do.

The Contextual Major Plot Featuring India-Pakistan World Cup Tie as Also Wedding Anniversary of the Main Protagonists
Mahesh and Saraswati are well settled now in India (old Delhi) with kids, Shaloo - thirteen years of age, and Brij - nine years old. Mahesh is a devout Hindu, especially dedicated towards Goddess Durga and his wife, Saraswati is a pious Muslim lady before marriage by the name – Shakila.
Now, husband and wife for the last fifteen years ever since 15th February, 2000, Mahesh and Saraswati are all set to celebrate their fifteenth wedding anniversary along with another grand event, Indo-Pak World Cup cricket clash planned for the day, viz. the fifteenth of February, 2015.
Cricket has always been their cup of dilemma and duel especially due to Shakila’s brother, Hussaini Bhai, being a member of the Pakistan cricket team for the last ten years as an all-rounder (medium pace bowler and a power hitter just akin to our Kapil Dev).
This World Cup, in particular, is especially important for him as he is going to announce his retirement after the Indo-Pak match; moreover, Pakistan, sensing victory, out of the rather low morale of the Indian team due to repeated defeats on its tour of Australia, just on the eve of the mega event, are going all out this time to break the jinx of having never beaten India in a World Cup fixture as yet.
After marriage, being a dedicated wife as she was, Saraswati alias Shakila was always in a state of turmoil – whether to support her husband or her brother! The children too were at loggerheads on this issue. Hussaini Bhai also adopted certain Hindu customs after the marriage of his sister to Mahesh, which included the celebration of the much wonted and acclaimed ‘Raksha-Bandhan’ festival with the tying of the sacred thread on his wrist by his sister, elder to him by a good seven years.
Whenever Saraswati would handcuff him with a sparkling ‘Rakhi,’ he would seek her blessings you guess what, your guess is as good as mine – asking for his team’s victory over India in the upcoming matches. February 15 in 2015 was no different. He had already sought his sister’s affectionate blessings the previous year in the wake of his upcoming retirement from international cricket. Before leaving for Australia-New Zealand, the venue of this year’s edition of the World Cup, Hussaini Bhai had touched his sister’s feet yet again, promising to call her before the all-important Indo-Pak contest.
True to his word, before leaving for the cricket arena on the actual day of the match, Hussaini Bhai had called his sister, Shakila alias Saraswati, and said – “dear sister Shakila! Please bless me so that not only do I perform well with both bat and ball but also our team does well and goes on to defeat India!” Shakila, in reply, said simply – “dear brother Hussaini! I am a wife more now than a sister. Still, I pray to God that you perform well in your last encounter before retirement. As for defeating India, I cannot say anything but only that it be an absorbing contest between the two teams for the spectators to feast upon and the better team which does better today win!”
Mahesh and the two children – Shaloo and Brij, were standing just nearby, overhearing the entire conversation between the brother and sister team of Shakila and Hussaini. Mahesh said jokingly – “don’t you dare to spoil your dear brother’s mood today! Just see the extent to which he has gone, how much he has been preparing, and looking forward to this – his last and final outing in cricket!” Brij added – “it’s going to be my Mamu Jaan’s day today and Pakistan will beat India hoarse, hollow, and outright!” Meanwhile, Shaloo, listening to all this talk, just couldn’t bear the thought of India losing this particular ‘prestigious’ match, and joining in the conversation, said mockingly – “even if Mamu Jaan takes the blessings of the entire household in India, nay Pakistan as well, God will see to it that my India doesn’t get defeated today!”
“Okay, okay! Everybody, listen now! Enough discussion has already taken place on the issue. Let’s not waste any more time over the matter and straightaway get into the act, by having our breakfast quickly and then settling down lest we miss any of the live coverage by Star Sports. Remember, we have specially subscribed to the channel for this occasion and only about half an hour is left before the live action begins, beamed right from Australia to so many countries around the globe including our India” – intervened Saraswati alias Shakila, suddenly taking control of the situation.
Everybody fell silent now and there was no further talk about the upcoming cricket action during breakfast time. Finally, as the clock struck exactly 09:00 hrs. IST, everyone settled down, taking their own vantage positions in front of the HD color ONIDA television set, once so much famed for its “owners’ pride, neighbor’s envy” ad.
Being a Sunday, Mahesh was off from his office work and the children too were free from their respective schools. Mahesh worked for a leading MNC in Gurgaon, travelling to and fro daily in his Honda car. While Shaloo was pursuing her studies in a central convent school and had come home specially to join her family for the match, Brij was studying in the nearby Jesus & Mary school. The school van would come daily to pick him up from home in the morning as also drop him back after school time in the afternoon.
The match had a significant sidelight too – a touch of the Indian cinema. Mr. Amitabh Bacchhan, the veteran actor well known for his versatility, and the famed anchor of the popular soap opera and Sony’s TV show – “KBC (‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’),” was making his grand debut in the commentary box, for a change this time, during the course of the match. It may be pointed out in this context that Amitabh Ji’s voice is his greatest asset and everybody, whether from India or abroad, was keenly looking forward to listen to this golden voice on the occasion. Star Sports, who had roped Amit Ji in for the event, was particularly keen on cashing upon his worldwide popularity and up the ante as far as TV ratings were concerned.
Before the match, there had been frequent calls from Shakila’s family and other near and dear ones from Pakistan all of whom were rooting for their home team and wanted Shakila alias Saraswati to fall in their footsteps and follow suit. Only Saraswati knew how tormenting all those moments had been. On one hand, she was supposed to and had to support India in the wake of her foremost relation as Mahesh’s wife and on the other, she couldn’t afford to displease her native relations too, not to speak of her role as a sister to Hussaini Bhai.
But, there was one very good point and factor working in her favor.
Mahesh knew his wife well, trusted her, and supported her through and through. Furthermore, he was not a jingoist or a cricket fanatic and was wise enough to understand not only the intricacies of the game but also the significant fact, missed by many but not him, that after all, it was only a game in which one of the two competing sides had to win and the other to lose.
Sometimes, he just brooded over and told himself that people were, by and large, foolish enough to put at stake so much for their chosen team, even going to the extent of gambling and betting heavily on the outcome. All this, he so wisely surmised, added to the ever increasing pressure on the players from both the sides and everybody else genuinely concerned about the game, which in modern times, had already acquired and taken the form of an explosive volcano, ready to erupt anywhere anytime.
He stood by his dear wife, Saraswati, often consoling and calming her down with soothing words, telling her to take all the discomfiture in her stride and that things would take their own course and everything would eventually work out well, God willing, or ‘Inshallah,’ as they say in Urdu.
Mahesh also had the good sense to realize that the game and so to say, everything in the modern world, from education down to health facilities, had become too commercialized, especially, of late, for comfort. The common man was hard put to even afford the “grand luxury” of going to a cricket stadium to watch and catch the action right in front of his eyes, not only due to the heavily priced match tickets but also taking into account the fact that as no outside food was allowed these days at the stadia, he would have to foot the bill for the highly over-priced eatables and drinks being offered and available at the match site and that too of much inferior quality in comparison to their rates.
Anyway, as he sometimes would take up and broach these topics with his wife, she would tell him to be ‘practical’ and not think too much but enjoy and, rather, relish the fun of it all, as if “any fun could be greater than humanity,” thought Mahesh although he used to keep and remain silent, accepting Saraswati’s views, but only outwardly. His inner senses were just neither willing nor ready to accept this hard reality and these harsh facts of life and he always wished he could do something about it. But, “what could he do,” all alone. He needed outside support and backing to buck him up in his mission and in this instance, his own wife was telling him in plain words to be ‘smart’ and ‘practical’ and let things go their own whacky way, whether “right or wrong,” how it mattered!
His conscience would prick him no end and he often thought and wished he could write a book and express his views and opinions openly without any fear or regret whatsoever. As of now, he had a family, may be small, but it was after all a family with a beautiful young wife and two decent kids to be taken care of and he just couldn’t afford to put their lives at stake, for the time being, at least. “All right, let me be rid of my family responsibilities and my office as well after retirement. Then, possibly, I can take a chance and would be able to write, fulfilling my cherished wish for so long!” he told himself consolingly and softly.
Back to our match, the little Indo-Pak cricket encounter. Pakistan, winning the toss, had elected to bat first on what appeared to be a paradise of a pitch for batsmen, laden with runs. And, keeping in view Hussaini Bhai’s impending retirement immediately after this significant contest, he was asked to open the innings along with Mohammed Shehzaad, a young, elegant to watch, and gifted opener. May be, the move to send Hussaini Bhai upfront was meant to take India by surprise and upset their rhythm, especially during the first ten power-play overs when only three fielders are allowed outside the inner circle. Be that as it may, Hussaini Bhai was out first ball, yorked by Umesh Yadav, the fastest bowler of the lot on the Indian side, much to the disdain of Brij but amusement for Shaloo. Shakila too was a bit upset about this particular dismissal, knowing in her heart that her brother would be even more upset about it, especially in view of his last outing in cricket.
The whole of Pakistan was stunned into silence and rubbed its eyes in disbelief. Meanwhile, Mahesh, calm and composed, as always, came forward to soothe Saraswati alias Shakila, telling her that Hussaini Bhai still had a chance to bowl well in the Indian innings, and that all was not lost as yet. Misbah-ul-Haq, the skipper of the Pakistan team, walked in next and boy, what an innings he played, simply breathtaking and out of this world! Along with Mohammed Shehzaad, the diminutive young opening batsman, he put up a bewildering partnership of one hundred eighty runs, in which his own personal contribution was a marvelous one hundred fifty runs, full of strokes all around the ground, comprising twelve fours and a towering eleven sixes, to boot.
Although he got out soon after reaching this milestone, trying to hammer another six and caught brilliantly near the boundary by Suresh Raina, who took a low tumbling catch running a good twenty yards to his left, followed almost immediately by Shehzaad, who played a rather needless rash shot in trying to up the ante even more, Pakistan reached a respectable and healthy looking score of two hundred seventy runs eventually, losing five wickets in their allotted fifty overs.
For India, Umesh Yadav took three wickets with Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin being the other two successful bowlers, bagging one wicket a piece. Suresh Raina, a part time bowler used by India, strangely turned out to be their most economical one, conceding just thirty runs off his ten overs, giving him an economy rate of three per over, which was simply stunning under any circumstances.
It was lunch time now and the whole family, Mahesh, Saraswati and the two kids – Brij and Shaloo, gathered around the dining table to enjoy the package of Daal Makhani, Rajma, cauliflower, Pulaav, Raita and Tandoori Naans, home delivered to them by the nearby “Wah Ji Wah” restaurant, especially for the occasion. Mahesh had also ordered a special candle-light dinner at the restaurant later in the day to celebrate his fifteenth wedding anniversary with Saraswati. Brij and Shaloo too were to accompany them and join in the celebration, especially as a special chocolate vegetarian cake had been ordered the previous day by Mahesh for today’s special evening. During the course of their lunch, Brij was a bit sulky while Shaloo was her usual chirpy self. Mahesh and Saraswati, on their part, tried their best to keep Brij’s spirits alive and not bring cricket into the picture or mix it up with their much needed meal, especially after three and a half hours of rigorous and continuous cricket watching on their TV monitor/screen.
After a lunch break of exactly thirty minutes, the match began again at 13:00 hrs. IST. At this stage, India were the hot favorites and expected to win, keeping its record over Pakistan straight in World Cup encounters. This was keeping in view the fact that the pitch was still batsmen friendly and benign towards them. Moreover, India had a strong batting line up with stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Anjika Rahane, and the captain cool, Mahender Singh Dhoni himself, to boot, in its ranks.
As also, the fact that it had been able to restrict Pakistan to a target well below three hundred was an additional advantage working in its favor. And, the men in blue didn’t disappoint their fans, beginning well with Rohit and Shikhar putting up a decent one hundred partnership upfront off just eleven overs. At this point, Hussaini Bhai was introduced into the attack by Pakistan skipper, Misbah. And, off his fourth ball, he had Shikhar Dhawan caught behind, off a thin edge, with a late out swinger. In his next over, he sent back Rohit Sharma too, catching him plumb in front of the wicket with a peach of a delivery, that came in just a bit, for an easy LBW decision by England’s Ian Gould, one of the two umpires doing duty in the match along with S.Venky, the one from Sri Lanka. He virtually sent the crowd, the Pakistan fans, in particular, into a tizzy, by claiming the prize wickets of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina off his next two successive deliveries, achieving the rare feat of a hat trick in a World Cup final.
There had been no addition to the Indian score of exactly one hundred and its batting backbone had been literally broken and virtually torn to pieces, with four wickets gone already. Rahane and Dhoni tried to rev up the innings a bit, adding a crucial and vital eighty runs, before Rahane too was snapped up by Hussaini in his last and final over, not only for the match but in his cricket career as well, caught at short leg, while fending at a well directed rising bouncer on his chest. Even though Hussaini had got out for a duck while batting, he had bowling figures of 10-3-45-5 for the match, a five wicket haul anybody would be proud of and he so very rightly got a standing ovation from the supporting crowd as he finished his quota. Whatever the result of the match, he was relieved now that he had after all done justice to his last game of cricket. In fact, he had made his retirement a memorable occasion, an occasion he could remember with pride and recite to his probable future grandchildren.
It was anybody’s game now with exactly ninety one runs to get off the final ten overs for India while Pakistan was looking to finish off things quickly and wrap up the remaining five Indian wickets as well. But, its main concern was that its star performer of the day, Hussaini Bhai, at least with the ball, accounting for all the five wickets that had fallen so far, had already bowled out his full quota of ten overs at a stretch. India, on the other hand, was relying on Dhoni single-handedly now to apply the finishing touches and get the required runs at an asking rate of almost nine runs per over, which he was perfectly capable of doing. But, knowing that it was a crunch match, a big pressure game, nobody on either side, was yet ready to take any chances and predict the outcome. But, one thing was for sure. Whichever side doesn’t wilt under pressure and choke down, would be the winner.
Moreover, it was no longer a game to watch for the faint hearted ones. For Pakistan, Junaid Khan and Yusuf Parvez, the two of their fastest bowlers, had to bowl the final ten overs in tandem now while Ravindra Jadeja, a promising young all-rounder (left arm leg spin bowler who could bat as well) was giving Dhoni company at the other end. Both Jadeja and Dhoni were fast movers between wickets and played for the same franchise – Chennai Super Kings, in the IPL (Indian Premier League), a 20–20 or T-20 cricket tournament in which only twenty overs a side are bowled instead of the usual fifty as in one day cricket.
Pakistan did well in the first six overs, restricting India to just twenty five runs. Dhoni and Jadeja tried hard but found the duo of Junaid and Yusuf difficult to get away as they bowled a tidy line and length and at a good pace too, sometimes in the vicinity of one hundred fifty kilometers per hour. Be that as it may, they had no option left but to play in the T-20 mould now, if they were to get the remaining sixty six runs in the four overs left for the day. Nobody was giving them even a semblance of a chance or counting on them to even get anywhere close to the target, leave alone achieving it!
But, M.S. Dhoni had other ideas. He started off with his famed helicopter shot for six over mid-wicket in Junaid’s next over, followed it up with a crunchy straight drive for four off a full length yorker, a shot which only he could play, and then cover drove him, playing inside out for a massive six over the extra cover fence. With sixteen runs off the first three balls of the over, the crowd was on its feet yet again. As he took a comfortable single off the next ball, it was Jadeja’ s turn now to take over and hit the remaining two balls for successive boundaries, one a square cut that sped towards the point fence in the twinkling of an eye, and the other, a delicate leg glance to the fine leg boundary.
It had turned out to be a very good over for India, with as many as twenty five runs coming off it, in all. But, it still required forty one more in the next three overs, by no means, an easy task. Dhoni, once again, didn’t disappoint his fans, by hitting three massive hefty shots for the maximum, over long on, long off, and straight over the bowler Parvez’s head, off the first three deliveries in the next over, the forty eighth of the innings. Young Parvez completely lost his line, rhythm and length, and just didn’t know where to bowl to the Indian captain. To add to his woes, he bowled a wide no-ball next. Two runs were added to the score and a free hit was awarded to the batting side, viz. the Indians.
Although Dhoni could manage only a couple of runs off the free hit, hitting the full toss bowled straight into the hands of the fielder at deep midwicket, viz. Shehzaad, he reverse swept the next two balls for successive fours as if he was facing a spinner instead of a fast bowler. Thirty runs had come in the over bowled.
With just eleven to get in the remaining two final overs of the innings, the game had again turned around and come full circle in India’s favor. However, the ever cool Dhoni got out in Junaid’s final over, trying to repeat his favorite helicopter shot, which he had been able to play successfully off the first ball in the bowler’s previous over. It was neither needed nor called for at this stage of the game, when they could easily do it in singles and two’s.
It was rather uncharacteristic and unlike Dhoni’s calm approach, disposition, and temperament. But, the damage had been done and Pakistan allowed more than a glimmer of hope. May be, the first two dot balls off which Dhoni had been unable to get any runs, had got to his head. Dhoni had got out to the third ball of the over and the batsmen had crossed while the catch was being taken. Jadeja was in the hot seat now. And, just like Dhoni, he played out the first two balls he faced as dots and couldn’t make any use of them. He stepped out to the final ball of the over, trying to play a hefty cover drive, only to see his middle stump cart wheeling and flying off the ground.
India had lost another vital and crucial wicket again, this time of Ravindra Jadeja. Junaid’s final over had turned out to be double wicket maiden one and he was virtually on the moon, clapping and celebrating with his team mates with high fives all around. Everybody was on his toes now for the final over of the Indian innings to be bowled by Yusuf Parvez, the upcoming young fast bowler from Peshawar. At this juncture, India still needed eleven runs to win with just three wickets intact. Pakistan needed to bowl out the final over for less than ten runs to win.
A distinct third possibility had also come into the picture. And, that was India getting no more  than ten runs off the six balls it was to face, resulting in a ‘tie,’ or a drawn battle, so to say. Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami were the two Indian batsmen at the crease now to take them through with Shami at the non-striker’s end. Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma, in that order, were awaiting their turn to bat, if required, in the pavilion.
The first ball – a bouncer over the middle stump! No runs! Ashwin looked at S.Venky, the umpire officiating at the bowler’s end, appealingly for a no ball for extra height above the batsman’s shoulders, but there had been no signal from the square leg umpire, Ian Gould, and Venky simply signaled one bouncer, for the over. The second – a slightly wide full toss had Ashwin groping for it and flew to third man for a single. Mohammed Shami on strike now! The equation – ten to get off four balls!!
The third ball by Parvez was a full length yorker, dug out somehow by Shami, and they stole a cheeky single! The equation – nine to get off three!! The fourth, a short one, was pulled fiercely by Ashwin to the mid-wicket fence for a welcome boundary for his team! Ashwin had proved his batting credentials time and again for India and this was no different! The equation – five to get off two!!
The next ball, the fifth, was a quick good length one, and they ran an even quicker single like two hares running for their very lives!
The equation – four to get off just one ball!! Oh, my, my goodness me, it was all topsy-turvy and could swing either way, although Pakistan seemed to have a slight edge at this point of the game. But, nothing can be said in cricket till the final ball is bowled!
The final ball of the over and the innings was a fierce yorker by Yusuf Parvez, the young lad from Peshawar, who was learning all the time and had bowled a great last over. Mohammed Shami knew nothing about it; Ashwin was already half way down the pitch, screaming out to Shami to run; meanwhile, the wicketkeeper, Yaseen Jaffer, had thrown the ball to the bowler’s end but there was no one backing up; Shami started to run; the ball was stopped near mid-off by Misbah-ul-Haq, the Pakistan skipper, who threw it wildly to the batsman’s end, trying to run out Ashwin; both the batsmen reached their respective ends safely and tried to run the second as well and managing it too; the throw was so wild that it caught all the Pakistan fielders napping and unawares, going to the fine third man boundary and crossing the fence for four overthrows; while India needed four runs off this particular ball, they had been allowed six, much to the chagrin of the Pakistan team, and Parvez, in particular, who had done nothing wrong in this over.
In the end, it had been a comedy of errors, of a sort. But, eventually, it was India who had kept their nerves and done the needful, beating Pakistan by three wickets, with its final score reading two hundred seventy three for seven. Of course, it was helped by the Pakistan fielding in the final over; but all said and done it had ultimately and finally prevailed over Pakistan in what had been a hard fought, pulsating and nail biting game of cricket.
Meanwhile, the much talked about and the much hyped over Amitabh’s stint at the commentary box had come a cropper. It simply had to. After all, everybody can’t do everything. Acting is one thing. But performing in reality is a different ball game altogether. If Amitabh Ji had to act out the role of a commentator in a film, it would have been a virtual cakewalk for him. But, describing live action and moreover a game like cricket with all its buzzwords and peculiar jargon is only a job for professional commentators. Some of the ex-players too have made a good job of it. On his part, Amit Ji were graceful enough to quit right in the beginning itself and fellow commentators on Star Sports (Hindi commentary team) eased him out quickly lest it became an embarrassment both for Mr. Bacchhan and Star Sports. Anyway, most of the audience didn’t complain and accepted the walkout gracefully. May be, they already had a lurking idea that it would be a tough endeavor for Amit Ji to carry out.
Moreover, you can’t become a cricket commentator straightaway. You need time and graduate gradually from local matches to regional ones onto national level and finally arrive at the international level. You see, it’s a step by step gradual process. The only exception to this general rule could be ex-players who have played cricket at some level or the other. But, even here, everybody doesn’t succeed and turn out to be a good commentator. Rohan Gavaskar, the illustrious Sunil Gavaskar’s son, is a very good case in point with no ill-will towards anybody, especially the latter, who by all means, is an excellent TV cricket commentator himself.
Before moving on to the two flashbacks from the lives of Mahesh and Saraswati alias Shakila, just a little word about their fifteenth wedding anniversary together, the T-20 format of cricket, and the IPL.
The couple solemnly celebrated their much wonted anniversary in the evening along with their two loving kids, Brij and Shaloo. First, they feasted upon the aforementioned specially ordered chocolate cake and followed it up by whetting their appetite to the maximum on the candle lit dinner, which had several courses, of course, all of them purely vegetarian and only soft drinks and fresh fruit juices.
Coming to the T-20 format now; while, the reduced number of overs makes the game finish within three hours and the spectators get to watch all their favorite players in one go as also the outcome, we shall also have to say that the T-20 format of cricket suits the batsmen more than the bowlers, who are just left hapless and literally at the mercy of the former. Another valid point is that from a pure connoisseur’s point of view, T-20 is a very poor format and it has adversely affected (of course, along with one day cricket to a lesser extent, though) Test cricket too, which sometime back was his sublime delight.
Before I round off this first part of the story and the narration, a word about T-20 tourneys like IPL. On the negative side, they have commercialized the game no end. But, the positive point is that many youngsters get to play with their seniors, not to speak of some of their role models as well, as also earn some decent money in the process.

20 THOUGHTS: Greene, Eye-Gouge Monster
AND then there were four.
Two redemption stories, a minor premier seeking validation and an underdog looking for quality over quantity
Richmond were fantastic in 2017 and arguably looked better the following year. A grand an opportunity to go back to back you’d never see yet in the penultimate weekend they stuffed it. Tipping they’re still dirty.
Collingwood, the winners that night a year ago, came from nowhere to lose agonisingly a week later. Tipping they’re dirty on that still too.
Geelong has a monkey on its back the size of Naomi Watts’ co-star in that 2005 film set in Skull Island. The minor premier yet not rated a legitimate flag chance. They’d be dirty on that.
And lastly the Giants. Third prelim in four seasons, no-one has put together a more consistent body of finals work without tasting ultimate success. They’d be dirty they haven’t converted a golden opportunity yet.
Lot of get-even stories going on, three will go unsatisfied, yet one will succeed and nothing will taste sweeter.
  1.       Start with Toby Greene – still don’t get it. Last week, Bont, that was either a free-kick at most or a couple weeks for doing something properly grubby and in need of a spell. A contrived outcome later and he plays last week, instrumental in their win. Given the margin you could say he misses through suspension it’s a Brisbane win. Now, he gets a week and its upheld, but on the vision available the Bont incident looks worse. Don’t get it.
2.       Theory – Michael Christian wanted to see Greene go to the Tribunal last week on a serious charge where the Tribunal could come to its own conclusion, away from the constraints of the matrix Christian uses, and the Giant gets a suspension through that channel. It didn’t work, an agreed guilty-verdict into fine-only eventuated and the Christian plan failed. So this week, to avoid that happening again, he gave the suspension up front so Greene would have to work down from a week instead of the Tribunal working it out from scratch.
3.       As of writing this his suspension has been upheld but surely the Giants appeal on Thursday. Costs them $5,000, it’s a free hit, and given the size of the task Saturday afternoon and how important he is to them, they’d be mad not too. I expect them too, and in reality, it’s a 50-50 to be a success such is the crazy case it is.
4.       It’s an impressive four-year block for the Giants after that win last Saturday. Lost that epic prelim by a kick to the Dogs three years ago, were really in that prelim against the Tigers the year after a long way in, remembering they didn’t have Dylan Shiel for three quarters, and once again into a prelim this year. Leon Cameron has his detractors but they say winning a flag doesn’t just take planning and talent but a little luck as well. Given he continually gets this far, maybe that last ingredient is all they’re missing?
5.       Last one on GWS, from a league perspective it was actually encouraging to see that the left of screen displayed decent Giants coverage in the crowd in Brisbane Saturday night. Not a massive contingent but hardly the token couple-dozen of the early years, there was something half-decent for what is still a club shy of ten years old representing what is otherwise rugby and soccer heartland. Encouraging.
6.       Right, Brisbane. Told you so. This is a team who had zero injuries until Mitch Robinson and a draw softer than the Russians paid for at least year’s World Cup, so straight sets doesn’t surprise one bit. This is not a top four team, it’s probably a sixth to eighth team at best. Straight sets dot com, doesn’t surprise this column one iota.
7.       Luke Hodge though, what a jet, enormous career, huge for the Lions the last two years too, and we just love the look of Jarryd Lyons motioning to the two-time Normie winner for a chair off and the Colac product in body language alone gave it the “nah mate, cheers”. Love that. Well done Hodgey, certainty for a Hall of Fame Legend status at some point you’d think, with that resume.
8.       How was the Sam Reid ‘George Gregan’ impersonation on the game-winning-goal? Three or so posessions before the jockey Brent Daniels cheeky checkside, pretty sure it was Reid who dished the ball out like he was given a freshly-baked jacket potato unawares, very quick hands but by the letter of the law incredibly illegal. Umpy was never going to see it but gee, if only he could, would have paid a forward pass for sure.
9.       Speaking of umpiring, that spirit of the game free kick nonsense with Adam Kennedy and Charlie Cameron. My Lord. I hope the umpire mistakenly meant the stuff about constant niggle where a free is awarded if its just too much. But otherwise, under the letter of the law, Cameron coming back on was not injured. Play on. Ridiculous.
10.   So umpiring, was a shocker this weekend. Match Review and Tribunal not good either. Who is responsible for that? Old Steve “having a shocker” Hocking. My mate is just enduring the nightmare to end all nightmares. Rules, done nothing, scoring, down, I can’t see any portfolio he looks after better than this time last year. Lift Steve.
11.   Oh, and whilst we need to whack some folks – how about all that fuss about Mark Blicavs out of defence against the Pies and it cost them the game. They brought Rhys Stanley back in and where did the Blitz play most of his footy in the first half, a first half where the Cats played well? On the wing! David King was the main culprit. So we know not to ask him about the Geelong backline like we don’t ask him to be designated driver. Low blow, but he doesn’t read this, too busy with the behind the goals vision looking for Blicavs on Kennedy or Darling. He’ll be a while.
12.   So this week, what we got. Richmond playing a better Geelong but without Hawkins. Anyone see that going any other way than a Tigs win? Didn’t think so. Surely last year’s cock up doesn’t repeat. So one inner-suburban army of hundreds of thousands will bombard all of us in Grand Final week.
13.   Then, the day after, weather-pending the greatest collection of Collingwood supporters in one place ever since Pentridge hit capacity once back in the late 80s, hosting a GWS who have been tough for two good weeks but can they go again? The Pies might like the wetter conditions, the mosquito fleet up forward and a classy onball brigade. So we might end up with another huge inner-suburban army up and about in Grand Final week. Giants are in decent nick but, very decent nick.
14.   Good to see the Gulls make the VFL Grandma this weekend. Not just coz we like Willy almost as much as Liz Taylor, but because if it had been Richmond reserves versus Essendon reserves it would have been mega scratchy. Let’s just call the VFL for what it is, what used to be the well-respected VFA is now just the AFL Reserves comp with appearances by Port Melbourne and Williamstown. It’s a magoos competition and this Sunday one club will be caring more about the GF the Saturday after, the other will be hellbent on winning so they can secure a local real estate agent as a sponsor the year after to pay for the club jumpers.
15.   Jordan De Goey, oh, not worth the risk, he has only played ten seconds of footy in seemingly eight months and is made of tissue paper and is missing a limb and has Rickett’s. One thing though, aside from the German witchcraft and the fact he will have 22 days between the first final and a potential Granny – he hurt his hammy against Geelong in the opening two minutes but ran out, to little impact granted, most of the first half before heading for the tracksuit. No gratuitous stride out where the back door comes off the hinge and there’s the full dramatic hobble off the ground like you’ve got a bad case of pins and needles. Sure, he has a bad history, but this was not your typical tear. If the Pies win, I think he is a certainty to play Grand Final day.
16.   Ashes, all done. But please, Timothy. If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a million times: if you win the toss, nine times out of ten you bat first. On the tenth time you think about bowling, but you bat first. We lost the fifth test at the toss.
17.   Davey Warner. Couldn’t middle shit. You know you’re going busted when Stuart Broad gets you LB and doesn’t even bother turning around to appeal, he goes immediately from delivery stride into celebrating to gully. Was his brand new baby daughter on the eve of the Ashes a distraction enough? Perhaps. Was it just one bowler having him by the pills and otherwise, if Broad wasn’t playing he could have averaged say, 40? Possibly. Or, he averages 59 in Australia but averages less than 34 overseas. That’s telling. Remember, Steve Waugh and Allan Border, proper batsmen who don’t mind if your TV is an OLED TV or something from ALDI, they actually averaged higher overseas than at home. Proper batsmen.
18.   We need to find a new opening pair asap. Not bothered by playing Warner again, because if we do he’ll score a mount of runs against Pakistan and New Zealand on home conditions, but all it does is delay finding his successor for when we need to win tours, I dunno, in India, or England, or anywhere not at the SCG basically.
19.   Cam Bancroft, only averaged 11 from his two tests, sure, but gee, they swiftly moved him on because he was so bad, he was bringing such bad cricket juju to the place they brought in Marcus Harris who went on to average 60. No. That’s not right. Harris averaged 9 from his three tests.  Brilliant. Harris is now averaging 24 from 9 tests. Bancroft has 10 tests @ 26. Semantics perhaps but I’d be picking the sander before the Victorian first come the summer. But we have four Shield matches before the Gabba, I want to see Matty Renshaw ton up, get into the test team again and stick.
20.   And I love this, Steve Smith, missed a test and an innings but still amassed 333 runs more than the next best for most runs in the series. That man is a freak.

Good Morning #realdreamchasers Here is your daily news cap for Monday 15th May 2017. Remember you can read full articles via Barbados Today (BT), or by purchasing a Daily Nation Newspaper (DN).
Tumblr media
PM: CLASSROOM RELEVANCE KEY – Prime Minister Freundel Stuart says access is not the issue confronting education in Barbados.  Stuart, who has had to preside over some major changes to the long-held commitment to free education because of budget constraints, said the major problem with education on the island was its relevance. “The challenges confronting our education and training system are not related so much to access or quality, but more so to the relevance of that education to opportunities available to emerging sectors in the local and regional markets, as well as the global market,” he told those gathered for the Human Resource Development Strategy (HRDS) Pillars of Success Ceremony at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Saturday night. (DN)
EU PRAISE GOVT FOR HANDLING OF PROJECTS – The Barbados Government has received top marks from the European Union for its Human Resource Development Strategy (HRDS) programme funded by the Europeans. Marc Thill, head of cooperation for the European Union Delegation in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, made the disclosure on Saturday night as he addressed the HRDS Pillars of Success Ceremony, staged by the Ministry of Labour at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. The event celebrated the work of small businesses, non-governmental organisations, Government departments and state-owned enterprises that benefited from a multimillion-dollar programme which sought to boost the human resources capacity of these entities. “Over the years, from 2012 until last year, the EU supported the strategy with about 50 million euros in grant aid, out of which 46 million were planned to be provided through budget support and the balance through technical assistance,” Thill told the audience that included Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and members of his Cabinet. (DN)
BLP RENEWS CALL FOR INTEGRITY LEGISLATION – The opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has renewed its call on the Freundel Stuart administration to enact integrity legislation that will force people in public life to declare their assets. The BLP representative for Christ Church East, Senator Wilfred Abrahams, made the call on Saturday following a tour of the constituency with other members of the party. Abrahams accused the governing Democratic Labour Party (DLP) of endless “corruption and moral decay”. He said while members of the DLP based their 2007 election campaign on transparency and accountability, they have failed to deliver on their promises. Abrahams accused the DLP of using delaying the proceedings, noting that the only thing delaying the passing of the integrity legislation is the absence of the Governor General’s signature. Meantime, Abrahams said members of his party are ready to declare their assets. Abrahams who is vying for the seat currently held by the Minister of the Environment, Denis Lowe, said “if you have nothing to hide then the people should know what their public servants make, not just the politicians, the senior civil servants, all the politically exposed people. They all must stand up”. The attorney also accused the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Commissioner of Police of having “their wings clipped” and have turned a blind eye to the corruption plaguing the island. Abrahams called for the Cahill Project to be investigated. (BT)
LOWE NOT BACKING SAME SEX RIGHTS – Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe has one again declared he is not supporting any gay movement in Barbados. The Christ Church East MP, who has expressed similar sentiments in the past, made it clear he would not be supporting any legislation that promoted same-sex marriage. The unapologetic Lowe expressed his feelings last night while delivering remarks at the Democratic Labour Party Christ Church East Mother’s Day Awards Ceremony. “I made a point recently in a local church that there is an amazing attempt in certain quarters to advance a legislative call for same-sex marriage,” Lowe told those gathered at St Christopher Primary School hall. (DN)
LASHLEY RAPS RUDE BEHAVIOUR – Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley has blown a whistle on negative behaviours that have infiltrated the Barbadian society and wants them replaced with voluntarism and community-centred activity. He cited an element within the ZR culture and Barbadians who litter at every opportunity as the culprits.  The minister was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2017 Community Independence Celebrations at King George V Memorial Park on Saturday. He took a swipe at the pockets of “loutish behaviour” while praising the efforts of the participants of Community Independence Celebrations. (DN)
LEWDNESS WARNING - As Barbadians prepare to celebrate Crop Over, a Methodist minister has said that Christians should consider staying away from certain events like Grand Kadooment. Reverend Ezra Barker said that despite wearing modest costumes and even with the best Christian intentions, their presence in the revelry could be misconstrued. “If someone is a Christian and they want to please God, there are certain things they just won’t do,” Barker said, as he quickly explained he was only talking about “certain aspects” of the festival. “Christians have to be very careful. Christians can’t go and wear a costume and get into bands because the very people who are in the band with them will criticise them and say, ‘We thought you were a Christian. What you doing out here?’” (DN)
RICE: CAVE SHEPHERD ALL STARS READY – Last year’s Pic-O-De-Crop queen, a four-time calypso monarch and a wealth of young talent from the junior competition will take the stage when Cave Shepherd All Stars pitches its tent on May 27.  Tent manager Eleanor Rice revealed the line-up to the DAILY NATION after she attended a thanksgiving service at the Vauxhall Methodist Church, Christ Church, to mark the official opening of Crop Over 2017 yesterday. She said kaiso queen Aziza would be joined by four-time king Kid Site, Colin Spencer, Donella, Camera Man, Cher, David Forde, Dija, Fabie, Ishaka McNeil, J.L., Jude, He Haw, Miguel, The Announcer, Rusty, Screw Face, Sparkle T, Shawnee and Charisma. Rice said the tent would be sticking to its roots of providing hard-hitting social commentary.  (DN)
RAMON RULES BRIDGETOWN – Ramon Broomes rediscovered some of his old form to capture the prized Mr Bridgetown crown while Laslo Byron announced himself as the newest teenage titan at the annual Bridgetown bodybuilding/physique championships at Combermere on Saturday night. Before an audience that included International Federation of Bodybuilding Fitness pros Antoinette Downie and Maurice Arthur, comeback kid Broomes and the promising Byron captured the two most coveted titles on the three-hour programme that also comprised men’s physique, bikini fitness and figure competitions. Broomes, a 26 year-old personal trainer at First Fitness Gym, joined the long list of Mr Bridgetown bodybuilding champions that include Steve Weekes (1958), Keith “Big Keith” Waithe (1960), Emmerson Howell (1968), Moses Ashby (1971), and Jefferson Phillips (1987).  (DN)
ANDRE THE GIANT SLAYER – At the start of the Mr Bridgetown men’s physique contest, hardly anyone knew the 5-foot 5-inch Andre Clarke of First Fitness Gym. By the end, he had become Andre the Giant, after a spectacular debut triumph at the annual Mr Bridgetown Championships on Saturday night at Combermere School. Dynamite in a small package, Clarke took the top spot in the ten-man field, winning an absorbing showdown with pre-contest favourite Shone Springer of the Krackan Gym. This had to be very close. Springer, with his bodybuilding background, was cut like a diamond. His rock-hard abdominals and intercostals caught the eye and made him the first choice pick for fans and some media personnel. (DN)
VANDERPOOL DENIES KELLY NATIONAL DOUBLE – So much for that double. Gregory Vanderpool has come of age now, having ridden away with his very first senior National Championships road race on the Stewart’s Hill course yesterday to deny time trial champ Jesse Kelly a sweep of both titles. Working in tandem with Kelly and four other Massy United Insurance teammates, the 23-year-old eventually made his break on the final climb to win the nine-lap, 120k event in three hours and 26 minutes on a gruelling St Philip circuit. “It feels amazing to finally get a title for yourself,” said Vanderpool of his big senior breakthrough. (DN)
OH LOSS - Roston Chase appeared to have saved West Indies from defeat with another superb century yesterday, until a moment of recklessness from Shannon Gabriel sunk the hearts of supporters and handed Pakistan their first Test series win in the Caribbean. On an evening of unimaginable drama, tension and excitement, Barbadian Chase, with the help of spirited lower-order resistance, carved out an unbeaten 101 as West Indies inched agonisingly towards a face-saving draw that would have levelled the three-match series in the final Test at Windsor Park in Dominica. With the previously defiant Gabriel required to survive the final ball of the penultimate over from canny leg-spinner Yasir Shah, the No. 11 somehow lost patience and inexcusably attempted to hoist the ball over midwicket. As the ball took the inside edge and cannoned into the off stump, it left West Indians around the Caribbean dumbfounded at the irresponsible stroke after he had survived 21 balls in the company of the assured Chase. (DN)
PAKISTAN CLAIM HISTORIC SERIES WIN IN DRAMATIC FINISH - West Indies collapsed to a 101-run defeat with an over left on the final day to concede the third Test and hand Pakistan an historic first series victory on Caribbean soil here Sunday. Resuming the morning at Windsor Park on seven for one in pursuit of 304 for victory but more importantly, needing to survive the day, West Indies were dismissed for 202, with an over left on a nerve-jangling day. Roston Chase unveiled a defiant unbeaten 101 but other than for Captain Jason Holder’s 22, no other batsman stepped up. The hosts were undermined by champion leg-spinner Yasir Shah who claimed five for 92 to finish with match figures of eight for 218. He was supported by seamer debutant seamer Hasan Ali who picked up three for 33. Pakistan won the three-match series 2-1. (BT)
ANTIGUA: PM SCRAPS PLAN FOR GUN FACTORY - Prime Minister Gaston Browne has cancelled plans to give investors permission to construct a gun assembling plant in the country’s proposed Economic Zone. Browne called Observer Radio just after 7 p.m. on Saturday to announce that he had instructed the Attorney General and other Cabinet colleagues to scrap the deal. “I have said to them that in the interest of the nation, rather than having a situation where we bring in that factory and divide the nation over it, let us scuttle that decision.” Browne had called the radio station earlier in the afternoon and confirmed that the plan was going ahead and that all of the guns manufactured there would be for export. But scores of residents also called the radio station to criticize the prime minister for agreeing to the gun factory. The Prime Minister later revealed that he was not on the island when the decision was made in Cabinet to set up the gun manufacturing plant. “We do understand the risks,” Browne said adding, “I think it is in the best interest of the nation to just scuttle the deal.” The country’s leader said he thanked everyone for their input and is always open to “constructive criticisms”. He admitted that he wasn’t comfortable with the deal to begin with, “but having heard from the people I feel even firmer in my decision that we ought not to proceed”. (BT)
CYBERATTACK HAVOC COULD GROW AS WORK WEEK BEGINS - An unprecedented “ransomware” cyberattack that has already hit tens of thousands of victims in 150 countries could wreak even more havoc Monday as people return to their desks and power up their computers at the start of the work week. Officials and experts on Sunday urged organizations and companies to update their operating systems immediately to ensure they aren’t vulnerable to a second, more powerful version of the malicious software, dubbed WannaCry. The cyberattack paralyzed computers that run Britain’s hospital network, Germany’s national railway and scores of other companies and government agencies worldwide. The attack, already believed to be the biggest online extortion scheme ever recorded, is an “escalating threat” after hitting 200,000 victims across the world since Friday, according to the head of Europol, Europe’s policing agency. His concerns were echoed by James Clapper, former director of national intelligence under U.S. President Barack Obama. In an interview on ABC’s This Week, Clapper said the worry was “this ransomware attack will be even larger” as people return to their desks after the weekend. The 200,000 victims included more than 100,000 organizations, Europol spokesman Jan Op Gen Oorth told The Associated Press. He said it was too early to say who was behind the onslaught and what their motivation was, aside from the obvious demand for money. So far, he said, not many people have paid the ransom demanded by the malware. The attack held users hostage by freezing their computers, encrypting their data and demanding money through online bitcoin payment — $300 US at first, rising to $600 before it destroys files hours later. Account addresses hard-coded into the malicious WannaCry software code appear to show the attackers had received just under $32,500 as of Sunday. The effects were felt across the globe, with Britain’s National Health Service, Russia’s Interior Ministry and companies including Spain’s Telefonica, FedEx Corp. in the U.S. and French carmaker Renault all reporting disruptions. (BT)
13 YEAR OLD MISSING - Police have released photographs of 13-year-old Terry-Ann Kayla Nero. The teenager, of Gollop Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael, has been missing since Saturday. She was last seen by a family member outside her residence. At the time, she was wearing a black dress and black slippers. Nero is 4 ft tall, slim build, has a dark complexion, a long face, erect appearance, pleasant personality, and is considered small for her age. She has natural hair with extensions. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being asked to contact the Hastings  Police Station at 430-7608/7611, the emergency number 211 or the nearest police station. (BT)

LAWRENCE T G MEMORIAL CELEBRATING 35 YEARS - The Lawrence T Gay Memorial School kicked off its 35th anniversary celebrations on Saturday with the unveiling of a mural depicting traditional aspects of Barbadian culture. The mural was painted by Patrick Craigwell, Sade Arthur, Sergeant Christopher Griffith, as well as students and teachers of the school. Principal Beverley Parris praised the 522 students, saying they were “excellent examples” of the school’s aims and objectives. Former student, Reverend Dr Adrian Smith encouraged the students to continue the school’s rich legacy and heritage while shining brightly for God and acknowledging Him in all they do. Dr Smith also urged the students to diligently pursue their studies and to make the necessary effort and sacrifice. (BT)
SPECIAL DAY FOR ERCILLA – Today is going to be a special day for Ercilla Sealy, of Bridge Cot, St George. She celebrates her 100th birthday with family and friends. Yesterday was equally special for the Christian matriarch as her Newbury Church of the Nazarene saluted her on Mother’s Day. Granddaughter Pamela said Sealy was in fine spirits. She is the only living sibling of the late Reverend Irvin M. Wickham, the first black superintendent of the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Barbados. The birthday girl is the mother of three children – two daughters, one of whom is alive, and a son. (DN)

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective Kindle Edition (review of Kindle only)
2.0 out of 5 stars I-me-my. Oh, and something about the spectrum, too. Man, oh, man, did I want to love "Color," but it's bogged down by two major problems. The first is that it wants to be not only a) a history of dyes and pigments but also to some extent b) a history of various colors' cultural associations and c) a travelogue, and there just isn't room in this town for all three of those goals. Each chapter ricochets between the histories of several different types of dyeing materials, their cultural histories in their countries of origin, and author Victoria Finlay's modern-day adventures in those locales. Though the book is organized by the spectrum, with each color (plus black, white, and the first dye, ochre) receiving its own chapter, chasing Finlay's competing agendas makes the book overlong and trying to follow. The author just loses the thread too often. The second is Finlay herself, who makes for a very trying narrator. She has an aggravating tendency to invent elaborate fantasies when facts fail her and expect us to invest in them throughout the chapter, when we just want her to get back to fact. She swears like Mark Twain thought all women did. Her scientific knowledge is lacking and apparently escaped fact-checking (her explanation of why the sky is red at sunset is wrong). Worst, however, is her unabashed colonialism; her globe-hopping quest for color often doubles as a tour of Britain's erstwhile empire, and there's a patronizing quality in Finlay's distanced view of these cultures that suggests a tyranny of low expectations.Take the chapter on blue, which is in a way the book's strongest because it has a single long-term focus (a journey to a famed lapis lazuli quarry in Afghanistan) but is also one of the most amoral passages I've encountered in nonfiction.Read more › Go to Amazon
5.0 out of 5 stars The Travel History of Artist Pigments This is a joy of a book. Victoria Finlay has taken a subject that is very important, but seldom discussed - namely how did we get the colors used by artists for painting - and wove it into a personal account of her travels to find their sources. In the process she introduces the reader to all manner of exotic and little-known, but delightful facts, peoples and places. From cochineal (I might note here that as an entomologist I was somewhat discouraged by her apparent inability to decide whether to call the source a beetle or a bug- it is a BUG! - the one clinker in an otherwise well done book), through madder as a source of orange, saffron for yellow, and on to lapis lazuli for blue, etc. The book is (as noted) also a personal travel narrative with lots of side trips. I found these to be fascinating and to add interest to a book that might have been a dry compendium of facts about chemicals."Color: A Natural History of the Palette" is a good book to curl up with at night or to read on an airplane. The reader will find enough local "color" and interesting tidbits to make the hours very pleasant indeed. This is, I think, especially true of artists who may not know much about the colors they use in their work. Go to Amazon
4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of facts and observations in a relaxed presentation. In some ways, this little book is hard to explain. Finlay is an excellent writer and thus much of the book is her exotic travels to seek the source of exotic colors from around the world. However, she also explores the history of certain pigments, paints, dyes, and other products. She also gives very interesting details on the production of these pigments, some of which required considerable costs and effort. Finally she gives interesting information about the pigment or product itself, focusing on various chemical properties, such as whether or not it is a poison or is light fast.I enjoyed her early chapters on the production of paint, ranging all the way from ancient Roman encaustic painting, the hand ground pigments of the Renaissance, and the birth of more standardized paint products during the Industrial revolution. It is fitting that Finlay starts her discussion with ocre, the most common of the dirt colors, which has given us such a broad range of tones through the centuries. In her chapters on Black and Brown, we learn the origins of charcoal, pencil, and ink drawing instruements. In her chapter on White, we learn the terrible history of lead poisoing for those who wore White Lead makeup. In the chapter on Red we learn all about the cochineal beetle, that eats cactus, and has brilliant red blood - the color often called Carmen. We learn of other reds, such as Rose Madder, made from rose petals. Oranges may come from various plant sources and show up in varnish. We hear of brilliant yellows from the urine of cows fed mango leaves, or brilliant but poisonous greens - one of which is suspected of poisoning Napoleon with arsnic infused wallpaper.Finlay goes to Afganistan to seek lapis blue and has some interesting tales to tell about the Taliban.Read more › Go to Amazon
5.0 out of 5 stars Definitve popular history of colour I thoroughly enjoyed this reportage, where Victoria tracks down the origns of so many colours I knew from my childhood paintbox and later days with an aniline dyestuff manufacturer. However good the book is, and I highly recommend this to anyone interested in colourants and their origins, I was left wanting more......an upto date Part 2 please, to answer the questions that were left unanswered such as, "Is the lack of vivid bright orange just a reaction to the 60' & 70's overuse or is it still the case that cadmium orange (which does not get a mention) has not been replaced with anything quite as powerful? and what are the colours we now use in our paint boxes, wallpapers and so on?"Why am I posing these questions, well Victoria is just the person to tell us auhtoritatively & accurately. I only had a few quibbles with the entire 400+ pages, one was an editor's slip that allowed India to be separated into Bangladesh, India & Pakistan in 1947! Which I am sure the author knows was not quite the instant route it seems (first it was the eastern half of the division known as Pakistan i.e. East Pakistan which then separated in 1971 I believe from West Pakistan and became Bangladesh). Another was the rather simlplistic way she refers to chemical formulas, yes of course AsS is a combination of 1 molecule each of arsenic & sulphur whereas As2S3 combines in the ratio of 2:3, however whether this means in fact the latter is any more poisonous than the former can not be assumed from the chemical formula....if I remember my chemistry correctly you need to understand which is more soluble in water or most readily adsorbed in the stomach (a solution of HCl I believe). If the author has confirmed this it was not clear from the text and copiuous and excellent notes.Read more › Go to Amazon
