oh ok so half the people who are discussing the oppenheimer movie haven't even watched it. good to know
#please the movie doesnt glorify it nor even does it present the bomb as a necessary evil? like a Strong argument in the movie#is that japan was abt to surrender and dropping the bomb was useless. like that's very much An Important Point that is made about the bomb.#like i am definitely NOT one to buy into american exceptionalism but neither is the movie. i thought it was as#impartial as it could get while making the conscious decision to ONLY represent the american side.#i get having qualms about how the movie being centered around this harbringer of death's personal guilt is extremely tone-deaf given that#hundreds of thousands of japanese people died but like. read the title of the movie again. it's not about the bomb it's about HIM#i know we're in a media literacy crisis but guys come on. at least pretend like youre trying#clara tais toi
