I may go into more detail about “Sinsmas” later, but I did want to talk about what I considered to be the one scene/sequence that I thought was very well done and that I truly enjoyed—Octavia’s song, “I Will Be Okay”.

(Song/Character Discussion below)

Octavia’s song is almost everything I could have asked for. A somber echo of Stolas’ song from season 1, Octavia’s I Will Be Okay, finally, finally, gives Octavia a voice and the chance to express her grief over her father’s abandonment.

For the first time in the series, there’s no one to tell Octavia that she should give her dad some slack or that she should forgive him. She’s finally allowed to be upset, to fully mourn her relationship with Stolas and to get mad about what happened. She’s finally allowed to start working towards accepting the ways Stolas’ neglected her, and begin healing from that pain and trauma.

Octavia’s experience is both terribly heart-wrenching and, in the most painful way, freeing. The lyrics reflect that perfectly, with Octavia acknowledging that while she’s not okay now because of everything Stolas put her through, she WILL be okay, and will grow into her own person without him.

The song is a direct response to Stolas’. Octavia is answering him, saying “Yes, I will be okay. Not because of anything that you were supposed to or failed to provide me as a father, but because I will forge my own path, and in doing so will heal from the pain you caused me.”

It’s a bittersweet song about finding the strength to cut contact with someone you loved who has repeatedly failed you in the worst ways, and who isn’t going to change.

I do have one “criticism” for this song and sequence, not because anything from it was poorly done, but because, in my opinion, the song’s visuals could have been even better.

The following scene was in the original storyboards for “I Will Be Okay”, and was changed in the final episode:

I think the decision to change the visuals for these lyrics in the song was a mistake. Please don’t get me wrong, the animation in this entire episode was fantastic, my critiques of Helluva Boss are almost never about the animation.

But the above sequence just has so much more emotional weight to me. It’s the visualization of Octavia realizing she can’t rely on Stolas, that she has to look to herself for comfort.

Octavia taking her younger self from her neglectful father’s arms, symbolizing that she’s accepted that Stolas cannot be depended on and that she’ll have to take care of herself now, is such a powerful image.

It really is a shame to me that they cut this scene, because I think it fully encapsulates everything Octavia has been through in such a simple and effective way. I think the scene really loses something by cutting this visual.

With all of that said though, Octavia’s song, and the scene where she FINALLY calls Stolas out for his behavior were very cathartic for me. I know that the scene’s intent was most likely to make us empathize with Stolas for losing his daughter, but I found myself empathizing only with Octavia, and hoping that she gets the time she needs to heal.

I would love it if the show actually let her decide whether or not she wants Stolas back in her life, but given the way HB’s writers portray women, I worry that it’s likely some big event will happen that “reveals” Stella to be awful, and Octavia will forgive Stolas just like that, and will probably end up apologizing to him instead (like in “Seeing Stars”)

Anyway, just like Octavia being the only good thing in Stolas’ life, “I Will Be Okay” was, in my opinion, the only good thing in “Sinsmas”. (well that and Octavia calling Stolas out)

One thing I forgot to mention is that there's this expectation some people I've spoken to have that if their post doesn't do its usual numbers of notes or comments or likes, whatever the platform you're on uses, then it wasn't "worthwhile" or people "didn't like it".

Tumblr might be one of the better in terms of posts reaching audiences and old posts gaining recognition for a long time after they were posted, but it's still just a computer throwing shit on a screen.

I see, and talk to, a lot of artists that feel they can't OC post or that they have failed because "my usual audience size didn't all see the post I made" when there's a dozen things beyond their control that affect whether or not people even know they've uploaded. These numbers are genuine people behind a screen that have felt touched by what you have made. It doesn't matter whether that's one person ever, or a million people at once. People were altered even in the smallest ways by your creation, whether it was a smile or a happy cry, and that's beautiful. That's what art is, an expression of self that others can find comfort in when shared. But the key words are "EXPRESSION OF SELF." Not what the audience wants, not what God wants, but what you want.

Let me put it this way:

If you open a hospital, and are used to treating a million people a day but then suddenly have a day where only 5 people show up in need of help, is that a bad day? Or is it just good that people didn't need help? One day they might and you'll still be there because hospital equipment doesn't just vanish into thin air one day.

Audiences will see your work when they need to, and when they don't they won't. There's no two ways about it, you're fighting impossible odds if you try to make it any other way. So just let it be, do art for you and fuck everyone else. Because ultimately, the only person you're fucking by doing otherwise is yourself, and the world does plenty of that for us by default.

So go ahead, OC post! Create porn! Create the most angst-riddled depressing shit you possibly can! Don't worry about whether or not it'll do numbers and blow up big, because it doesn't matter! All that matters is that you had fun, and every life you touch with your work is a genuine human connection made over impossible distances that otherwise would've never occurred. Even posting this I'm speaking to people all the way from China to Mexico.

Will they see it? Who knows! But it doesn't matter, as long as one person sees it then that's a good thing. If nobody sees it that's great too! It means nobody needed to, so the world didn't need more lecturing on how to be happy.

Okay hear me out, I get that you guys love reading ambises with submissive, soft, oblivious, etc. because we all want a the muscle lady toshow off her strength and pin us up against the wall and be naturally dominant us and so on butttt.....

I know that Ambessa has a penchant for naughty and taming kinks and let me give you an idea.

What about the reader? They are shapeshifters, with a background from the city of Zaun or maybe from a bad city because honestly I haven't seen the majority, but in any case their background is not good and they grew up in poverty and survival, they used to earn their daily living by stealing from the rich and taking advantage of their abilities as shapeshifters to their advantage in infiltrating or doing missions for a fee, but nothing serious that might cause their identity to be revealed.

As for how they met Ambessa, here comes the tea, given the nature of the reader and their tendency to risk their lives and live on the adrenaline of thefts and mocking the lives of the rich as if it would pump their blood, they saw that stealing from the powerful and majestic war princess Ambessa was like an irreplaceable treasure, so they started to change like one of her guards and sneak into her palace or tent or lands in general and steal some things that are not noticed at first, then the situation developed after they saw that they got away the first times and after that they started stealing and messing with other things just to leave a signature that they were able to steal from the famous general and sometimes left written notes for her to mock that despite her majestic ability to wage wars and conquer kingdoms, neither her guards nor she are completely safe and I am just in a high place so that she cannot see below (which means that she is very tall and also rich, a double meaning)

Finally, she caught Ambessa's attention and it started to make her angry to catch the little thief or mouse who sneaks in and messes with her belongings and steals from her, until one day she sets a trap by leaving her precious daggers in the readers to catch them and this leads to the mission because the readers have been changed to one of the guards who were not on guard duty today and Ambessa noticed that and the little thief did not realize their mistake, until she saw the same guard sneaking into her headquarters..... You can decide the rest

There are some additions that I wrote, which is to make the thief from a rare species and has always been a target for hunting by the rich, whether for research or entertainment, etc. This is what adds to making their background harsh in hiding and not revealing themselves so that they are not caught, and an additional point is how do you detect a shapeshifter Which is the protruding fangs, it is the only thing that no one from the virtue of shapeshifter can do, and I added it because I want to plant my fangs in the shoulder and hand of Ambessa, frankly, so it will be a great addition

I have no motivation to write the story, but if anyone wants to borrow the idea and turn it into a series or a long story, please do so. There is also no objection, but I prefer to add the names to it.

tbh I think that the way Ashley Graves is so mischaracterized by the fandom says a lot about how people view grooming survivors (and autistic people). Let me explain:

Obviously, huge spoilers for Chapters 1 and 2 of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley. This is just a psychoanalysis of Ashley, however to do so involves a LOT of lore.

To start off, I'm just gonna put a trigger warning right here for LOTS of talk about grooming, as well as neglect and ableism. If you feel uncomfortable reading about these subjects you are more than welcome to click off. Please stay safe.

What made me decide to do this rant:

A few months ago, I got a text from someone who was upset about me having Ashley as my PFP. I was initially like "okay, they don't like TCOAAL, so what", and then immediately after I got a text from them responding to an Instagram story I had basically saying that Ashley was "so me fr fr".

"Let me guess, you also kin Valentino"

Valentino, from Hazbin Hotel, as in the blatant physically + verbally + sexually abusive piece of shit who is in no way redeemable.

I had brushed this off as "maybe they just don't like Ashley", until they listed why.

...all of the reasons they gave fell under the main categories of "she's clingy, she's flirtatious with Andrew, and her sprites are made for the male gaze."

The male gaze thing was because she didn't appear to be wearing a bra. Which like... sexualizing much? For fuck's sake, she's locked in an apartment about to die, do you think wearing a bra would be a priority?

Secondly, her behaviour.

Admittedly, she's not a great person. But that's because she never learnt how to be.

In-game there is so so so SO much emphasis on how she acts childish, and how literally no one gives two shits about her. It doesn't take a professional psychologist to figure out that she never was able to develop properly. That's why she's so clingy, because Andrew is the one person who at least pretends to care about her. And then there's her flirtatiousness.

It's revealed in several flashbacks that the only way she could ever get Andrew's attention is to do something fucked up, as seen by her as a child killing Nina. Andrew then gives her attention for this, which establishes the connection that homicide -> attention, and attention = care and love and affection.

Due to the fact that she never had any friends, she never was able to have any type of love (whether that be platonic, romantic, etc.) reciprocated. Except for Andrew.

Andrew, throughout the game, proceeds to subtly encourage Ashley's flirtatiousness. She has no reference of this type of stuff not being okay, and thus her social isolation made her the perfect target.

Social isolation, gaslighting, coercion, threatening to hurt the person if they don't do the desired behaviour. You know what those are?

Textbook signs of grooming.

I realized that people hate Ashley so much because since she's not aware of her situation being bad, she's unable to come to that realization. She's not perfect, let alone a 'good victim'. She only sexualizes herself because that's how she learned she can get affection and care.

So... where does the whole "Ashley is autistic" theory come from, then?

As stated by Renee Graves, Ashley was "a lot of work" as compared to Andrew (guess what, kids take work). Now, this alone wouldn't be any indicator. However...

It's shown that she was unable to make friends because she was "weird" and clearly didn't have an understanding of social cues and rules (which honestly hit close to home for me). It's also shown that she problem-solves differently (or at least differently than Andrew, who is seen as the "logical sane one") and also seems to be more of a hands-on learner (I forget if there's any actual proof of this, however upon analysis she is an ESFP, and ESFPs tend to be more hands-on (yes I'm aware that MBTI types are the psychology equivalent of horoscopes, but there is some truth to them)).

Not to mention how she's shown to have extreme emotions, and tends to have meltdowns (I apologize if this isn't the right word, I'm not sure what the term would be). The extreme emotions part can be part of how blatantly of a pwBPD she is, but BPD also tends to have a higher frequency of showing up in autistic people, especially autistic women.

In conclusion, people hate Ashley Graves because of how well-integrated ableism is in society, as well as the concept of a 'perfect victim'.

Wolfgang Akire through the lens of the law: an analysis

i would like to give a disclaimer that while im very interested in the law, im not a lawyer or in law school. my knowledge comes from the few law classes i have taken, participation in a couple mock trials, and some personal research, so please take this with a grain of salt! if im missing something or saying something inaccurate, please let me know! i am always open to learning more!! not to mention this is my understanding of law in the United States, so this may differ by country.

in the end, this isn’t meant to be too serious, just using the knowledge i do have and applying it to p:eg!!!

okay now spoilers for the prologue and all of chapter 1!

well ig before we get into it let me say rest in peace a king... I will miss you, you hypocritical bastard........

alright, so firstly, let’s consider Wolfgang’s character profile.

two things stand out to me here. the first is how he has “successfully defended over 200 of his clients without dropping a single case.” we can infer that Wolfgang is a criminal defense attorney. it’s possible he could be a lawyer in the civil law sector instead, but considering his strong feelings about murder and crime, and the fact that this is Danganronpa, it leads me to believe he is a criminal attorney for the sake of relevance (I don't think any of us would care if he were a corporate attorney after all).

now, that sentence you just read is particularly interesting in the case of Wolfgang Akire. From the prologue's mock trial, we can see that Wolfgang feels very passionately about murder, condemning the murderer even without insight as to why they committed the crime, instead big on retribution and justice (which the definition of could definitely be debated). Yet, as a defense lawyer, Wolfgang would have been defending people from criminal accusations, from anything to armed robbery, arson, or murder. we’re not particularly sure on his view of other crime, but we can assume he also has a similarly negative view of it that he has of murder. out of 200 people (within such a short time span of finishing law school too), what are the odds that out of all 200, not one of them was actually guilty? of course, lawyers have the ability to drop or not take on cases, but as his profile says, he hasn’t dropped a single case! it’s quite possible he had complete faith that every client was innocent, but with the evidence and files he’d have to go through, he had to have seen something that was damning and prepared accordingly to address in the most sympathetic way possible to avoid prosecution winning their case. and that's the thing with Wolfgang; his job requires building sympathy for the accused, and it requires sowing seeds of doubt in prosecution's case. there had to have been someone that he was defending from an accurate charge(s). so whether he knew it or not, he has very likely defended people guilty of crime; and yet, he still feels very adamantly against them.

Here's where I fall short on my analysis; I honestly do not know what to make of this conclusion. his behavior and his ideals are almost contradictory in a sense. is this insight to wolfgang's clear hypocrisy? but what does that really say about him? I'd love to know what any of y'all think in regards to this :0

Now, the second thing that stands out to me is that he wants to make sure that everyone is fairly represented and make sure logic and evidence drive the discussion. While this does seem to be true, the mock trial shows that he lets his feelings become a big part of the discussion as well. everything he does screams prosecutor to me, so it was shocking to find out he works as defense. Wolfgang has a very interesting way of viewing things, almost dichotomous, unlike what his profile says. it's similar to the format of a trial, where it's not meant to be a team working together to find the complexities and nuance within a certain issue, but rather an attempt to prove your point and disprove the other side. trials aren't supposed to be a discussion where everyone reaches the truth together (Danganronpa trials are not very accurate but of course I don't think they were intended to be in the first place), they are for you to win your case-- as a defense attorney, its poking as many holes into the prosecution’s case as possible. (little fun side note, this is very similar to how debate works; Wolfgang and Damon are a lot more alike than one would originally think.)

Considering all of this, it makes me wonder if Wolfgang was intentionally trying to split the group apart,,,, because it's easier. because it makes more sense. as defense, lawyers may pin the crime on another, but without the burden of proof that prosecution does, they can sling out accusations to increase doubt on prosecutions case without having to actually prove it (that would be left for a separate case). it's easier to divide a group and have a bunch of people follow you while isolating the 'other side', and with that division made, it's more likely someone you isolated will be the 'villian' anyways; and in this case, this was true-- Eva, who has been socially ostracized her whole life, was driven to murder to protect herself from the blinding fear that everyone was out for her (even if that wasn't entirely true). this could be just how Wolfgang has gotten used to going through his life. maybe the bad habits he picked up from his father were the divisive kind of us vs them mindset lawyers have to have in a courtroom.

speaking of his father, let's address the motive-- there's so many things that Wolfgang's blackmail could be about; faking his law degree, not taking the bar exam, defending horrible people, the list goes on. Honestly, a scenario i have considered is that it's about him defending his father for a crime he actually did commit, yet winning the case; or his father commuting a crime in general and winning his case, leaving Wolfgang conflicted as that is the sort of thing he does all the time, yet his father had just taken away his mothers life and gotten free (this is very much just me guessing a possibility though). when Wolfgang was hallucinating, he says he's not like them (to diana who he thinks is someone else) and he'll never be like them; It's most likely that he saw his father. the theory I'm going with right now is that his father was at the very least heavily involved in the likely murder of his mother (thus bring her back in reference to his mom). his father was probably also a lawyer and may have pushed wolfgang into going into the field himself, especially when he sent him to law school as a teenager. maybe Wolfgang wanted to live up to the expectations his father had of him. who knows exactly what Wolfgang wanted everyone to know him as, it was probably a long the lines of a competent lawyer. but, as of right now it's all speculation (objection! haha.... that was not funny my bad), so again, I'd love to hear some thoughts.

Another little funny thing i'd like to note is when Damon and Eva come back to the dinning hall and Wolfgang asks where they've been, Damon responds saying it was for discussing the motive. He's internally smug about how defeated Wolfgang seemed to be by that, and I thought that the funniest shit; very similar to being on cross examination, thinking you have the witness in your hands, when suddenly they wiggle out of your accusation. he's so real for that.

I don't really think to put specific numbers on characters most of the time because I personally get really anxious about rankings 🤡 According to the same friends that said all of this though, they basically agree that L*ona is pretty much second place or that L*ona has already surpassed J word. A particular friend likes to joke that “it’s Leover”, and another one says, “it’s like Raven divorced J word for L*ona”. And honestly 💦💦 if I'm being 100% truthful, I'm a little scared myself that some cat boy I disliked back in 2020 will shoot right up to the very top 💀 When I think about that... OOooOoOooooOOOGH, IT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS BECAUSE HE'D BE SO ANNOYING AND SMUG ABOUT WINNING FOR ONCE. Finally clawing his way up from rock bottom... past second place (where he was perpetually trapped for most of his life; second place to his older brother, second place to that lizard, second place to eel)... to snatch the crown from the jaws of defeat... 💢 (You can't see it, but I'm pounding the wall with my fists--)

BUT IT'S OKAY, IT'S OKAY GUYS (<- huffing copium) IT'S JUST THE CONTENT RELEASE BIAS... Like, L*ona has gotten SO much more focus recently that it might be a little unfair to compare the two right now??? He got that Nightmare Suit SSR and played an important role in the Halloween event, then immediately got his time to shine in his book 7 dream, on top of us being forced to go through all five Heartslabyul dreams with him. That's not even mentioning the fact that the Episode of Savanaclaw manga is hyping us up for his OB reveal in January, or his hometown event rerun that's currently going on in the JP server. I keep telling myself that as soon as J word gets a new exciting SSR or story content that I'll swing right back around to him 😭 He hasn't gotten anything substantial lately... And let's be honest here, L*ona has a complete advantage no matter what the situation is for J word simply because L*ona is a dorm leader and an OB boy. There will always be more attention and detail showered upon him and his development over J word's OTL There's just... more L*ona lore to chew on. The other part of it is a large chunk of what I discuss on this blog comes from interactions with my readers. If readers submit more asks about L*ona, then I'll naturally talk about him more. Pair this with the guarantee that he's getting more screen time because of the remaining Heartslabyul dreams, and it becomes constant lion reinforcement.

This was a fantastic Christmas special! This really punched me in the gut (but in a good way). Everything, as always, was amazing. Excellent job, Team!!! Too bad Clench couldn't be in the whole episode.

Me 🤝 Tari → people pleasers with a dose of abandonment issues

Tari, I've been there and I promise your friends aren't gonna leave you. What you can offer, what you're able to, that is worth something. It doesn't need to be material, just being a part of their lives is enough. No matter how big, because to them, it could mean a lot more than what you think.

It's what I've been struggling too, that the people who have approached me only wanted what I could offer, but not as a person. And it takes time to heal and open up again to people who are worth opening up to, but you'll get there.

So, to remind you (yes, the one behind the screen): you are enough. We are enough. What you do, means a lot more to other people than what you think. You'd be surprised how much a second of your presence means to people, and they value that. It's why it's okay to say no when you aren't able to, they'll understand if they truly do care for you. I promise, time will come around for you to find the good ones.

That's why I love this show. It isn't just a "silly meme show", it's so much more than that. Yes, it does have its funny moments but it can be emotional, dramatic, exciting. And even relatable. That's the point of stories. Like I said countless times before:

Every story, no matter how outlandish it seems, is grounded in reality.

That's why I'm glad this was one of the last episodes of the year, to bring it all back that it's a story that we all can relate to in some way. That we aren't alone. Grab each other by the hand and take one day at a time.

Oh boy, sorry for that emotional stuff. Just wanted to bring some comfort 💙 With that, I'm gonna bring back what was the most interesting of this episode: SMG3

It wasn't until the very end that we realized this whole episode was Three retelling Tari's story not only to Eggdog but also to Terrance.

(If I remember the layout correctly, right in the same nook above the fireplace is where Terrance's photo is placed)

So, yes, he is reading a bedtime story to both of his sons. (just gonna cry in the corner for a second) He's such a dad 🥺

Anyway, i shall put my theorist goggles on:

Back in the part when Tari was too late to buy the Crew presents and the voices in her head were bashing her for failing, we have SMG3 for some reason come in:

To be clear, that's Four's model (notice the lack of chip of the cap) but Three is the one saying: "And I thought I was evil..." Other than being the narrator, Three wasn't in the story, so the question is why?

The obvious would be that the Team simply made a mistake and forgot that they placed this in. Ok, sure, that's if it was on accident. But what if they did it on purpose?

As Three stated in the episode "Trash Friends", he truly believes he's "the worst version of SMG4"

Think about it: the basic roles for them are Four as the hero and Three as a villain.

If Three was ever in an episode all of a sudden is because he is the negative force of the story. Recall back to the episode "Meme Hunters" when Three was forced to be "the conflict" of the episode.

Now, it may seem harmless but to him, he was afraid to be perceived as nothing more than "SMG4's cheap and worst copy"

And also in "You Used to Be Cool", people have noticed when he does lay back a bit from the usual villain/rival role and bash him saying, "This isn't you."

Hero or villain, you're seen differently by everybody

Then there was the whole "moral of the story" part:

Ofc, it's a whole thing that Three refuses time after time that he's not friends with the Crew

Now with the context that we have, we just got a peek into Three's fears/insecurities. Basically: if he opens up and accepts that he has friends, they might try and take advantage of him. So, what should he do? Close himself off, be an asshole, and deny, deny, deny.

Despite risking literally everything, INCLUDING HIS OWN LIFE, for them, he's doing this to protect himself from emotional harm when he's the most vulnerable.

There's indeed a trope that villains, especially redeemed ones, would have a sense of empathy of some kind. They know what's like to hit rock bottom, it's why they can empathize with the people who least deserve it, like Tari. (Even with Four back in IGBP.) So yes, as much as this is a story about Tari, it also relates to Three.

How can you have what you want when you're the one holding yourself back?

Three: "I also need love, understanding, and tenderness." [IGBP movie, Spanish dub] Three: " I just want the USB in that spaghetti in your stomach so I can use it to gain fame and love that SMG4 has too much of, okay?!" Mario: "...Is that it? Silly SMG3, you could of just told Mario instead of suppressing your inner emotions and your fear of being forever forgotten." [Trash Friends]

I mean, look at the last episode, he was so happy to know he got fanart.

The pressure he has, the role he has to play, what he's perceived as. It all affects him. Sure, he doesn't care that he's not perceived as the standard definition of a villain but he is really as human as he can be, with fears and desires.

Another way to see the "failure" part of the episode is that Three could never see Four in a negative light. Sure, Four has made terrible mistakes but past the YouTube Arc, Three has never seen Four as a villain (again, the role of the hero thing). Four is flawed just as he is, but since he's the one telling Tari's story, he replaces Four with himself in the narrative.

It's not confirmed it's because he cares about Four in this instant but it's obvious he has done it on purpose. All because that's the role he plays, one he absolutely fears, "an evil and worst copy of Four".

(For all we know, he might've altered some other things in the story we haven't even known about.)

AND the fact that he's telling it like a bedtime story to his son(s) as a warning, so they don't go through what he went through when he was younger (his whole parenting of reminding them that they're loved and appreciated for even the smallest things)

So, long story short: me 🤝 Tari 🤝 SMG3 → underlining abandonment issues

I've been noticing that a lot of points from past episodes are starting to resurface again (like IGBP) and I do hope we get to bring back what's going on with Three. Then, we might get Three having the same conclusion that Tari went through: as much as he wants to deny it to protect himself, he'll realize that it's okay to be vulnerable and have friends.

And he'd be surprised how much of what he did was valuable to them. That what he seeks is already right in front of him. After all, he's already part of the Crew :)

He would just have to let himself avert his view and see the truth.

Perci stared out over the stone ledge of the balcony. A view like this was an extraordinary sight to take in. Dawn’s early light reached across the sky and scooped the darkness of night into its arms, creating a landscape of bright orange and sunkissed pinks. He grazed his hand across the smoothe stone finish of the ledge he leaned over. Tracing the grooves on the light colored slate, he looked across the city’s streets. Not many populated the streets at this time of day. Most were already hard at work, having no time to play around but rather work in the vast town square. 

He shifted his focus over to the square, to the shopkeepers and merchants. Not long ago he was doing the same thing as they were. Though, he was very sure they were in a better circumstance than he was, being in the capitol and all. 

Perci rolled his eyes at himself and continued where he left off in his gaze. Happy faces and rosy cheeks filled the area. Everyone was doing their job, their part to survive. Yet somehow, their smiles created a sense of longing and uncertainty within him. He wasn’t sure whether to invite the feeling in or not. It was all just so messy now. Pain set in, he really wanted to feel the familiar warmth of his home. But he couldn’t right now. He has to do what he’s supposed to do. 

Perking up from his lean, Perci caught himself in his misery. Something bubbling beneath the surface ate away at him still. His mind wanted to reject it while body was in open arms to it. Trying to clear his head, he closed his eyes and let the mild winds pass into him much like his thoughts did. Everything and everyone came to mind. He couldn’t stop it.

"My feelings will never change. But by God, I wish they would." He breathed out with a shaking trill.

“It did,” she affirms. “It happened to you.”

Eddie nods. “We-we figured it out. Uh, what I am. What you are.”

“Monsters,” Adriana says. 

Eddie shakes his head. “I’m not sure about that.”

“Have you killed anyone?” Adriana asks, voice tight, eyes teary. “Has it made you kill someone yet?”

Has it made him… Like Adriana hasn’t had a choice in it. Eddie doesn’t know whether to feel better or worse about that. He feels unsettled, to be sure. 

“Not like this,” Eddie admits, thinking of what he had to do overseas. He’d been made to kill then, hadn’t he? Did that make him a monster? He isn’t sure. Buck would say no, just to comfort him. 

“Adriana,” he says. “Come with me, okay? Let’s figure this out together. With Soph. You don’t have to be out here alone.”

“I belong alone,” Adriana whispers, mouth quivering a little.

Eddie’s heart twists, like she’s grabbed it with a cold fist. 

“No, Adriana. That’s not true.”

“It is,” she nods. “Why else would this be happening? And… And you don’t even know what I’ve done, Eddie.”

“I think I do,” Eddie says. “I think I do know.”

“How could you?” She demands. “That’s not possible.”

“The hikers?” Eddie asks quietly. 

Adriana’s face drops. “How…”

“They found them. In Sweden,” Eddie says. “You’re not safe here, Adri. Someone will find you eventually.”

Tears start to spill down her cheeks. She looks afraid. Eddie doesn’t want to scare her. But he knows he has to. They have to get out of here. She has to completely relocate. Never associate with Arizona again. 

“I get it, okay?” He says. “They attacked you. You were already anxious, right? They wouldn’t stop. So you protected yourself.”

Her eyes widen. 

“I know,” Eddie continues. “I know, and I don’t blame you, okay. But we should go. I’ll keep you safe, okay. I’m your brother.”

“You promise?” She asks, eyes big and terrified. 

“I promise,” he says. “We’re going to figure this out, both of us.”

“Okay,” she exhales. “Please, Eddie. Please, I need help.”

“It’s okay,” he says. He extends his arms towards her, taking a single step into what doesn’t even amount to an inch of water. “I’ve got you, okay?”

Adriana stumbles forward into her arms, throwing herself at him the way she did when she was a little kid, and she had a bad dream. He squeezes her tight, hand cupping the back of her skull. 

“It’s okay,” he whispers. “You’re okay. We’re getting you out of here.”

“I’m sorry,” she blubbers into his shoulder. “I was awful to you. I ran away.”

“I just missed you,” he says. “And I worried. I’m so glad you’re alive. I don’t care what you did to stay that way.”

She exhales, shuddering. 

For a second, Eddie thinks they’re safe. He’s found her. He’s convinced her to come with him. They’re going to be just fine. They’ll deal with this together. 

And then there’s a large crash. Loud and earsplitting. It sound like a tree falling over. And that’s all Eddie assumes it is. Maybe that’s just because he hasn’t spent the past year and a half living on his own, fighting to survive. 

Adriana doesn’t take it at face value.

Her head snaps to the side, looking for the source of the noise. But instead of seeing a fallen tree, she sees Buck. And the look in her eyes upon viewing him is downright feral. 

“Oh my god,” she breathes. 

“No, Adri, that’s okay, it’s just-”

But she doesn’t wait. With a strength he does not expect her to possess, she spins them around, so it’s her facing the lake. 

“Adri, wait-”

“I won’t let them hurt you, too,” she says.

And before he can say anything else, she shoves him hard into the lake. And where he expects to hit a slimy floor, when he’s plunged into the water, it just keeps going.

It was another warm night in Bangkok when Kim Han-wool made his way down the dark streets to the destination he had had in mind for hours. His surgery was open at reduced hours on the weekend, but he had to stay over time tonight since there were an influx of patients today. As soon as Hanwool finished signing off on the final prescription of the evening, he closed up shop and headed on home to his condo, wanting to shower and get ready for the next - and more exciting part - of the night.

The Playroom had been an area he frequented now that he was living in Bangkok. In his previous visits, he never dreamed of entering such a place. His strict upbringing and no-nonsense attitude would never have allowed him to set foot in an escort establishment, or even call for one to entertain him for the night. But after having permanently relocated, it was time for a change. The old him died alongside his first love, for whom he still grieved over.

Bangkok was a fresh start, in so many ways. By day, his practice was booming. There were many Koreans living in Thailand, a few who were still settling into the country, so they were thankful to be able to speak in their native tongue when it came to their medical problems, which could be difficult to translate into Thai.

By night however, Hanwool would explore the city he loved on his visits here throughout his life. He went to the night markets, talked to strangers, visited bars and clubs - all things he should have done in his twenties, back when he was young, that he never allowed himself to do.

The Playroom would not have been his choice of club, if Hanwool was being honest with himself. He'd never have thought about it at all, if it weren't for a fleeting image he saw, of a man who looked far too familiar entering through the double doors. Hanwool had been like a man compelled, following the stranger into the establishment. He had no idea what he had walked into, eyes widening at the decor, the place almost menacing with its dim lighting and obviously adult theme - but he had to see the man again, no matter what.

He resembled Yeong too much...

Since that day, Hanwool had become a regular at The Playroom - but only for him. Sometimes he'd visit once a week; other times, when he was busy, it would be less frequent. Sometimes he'd come alone; sometimes he'd come with friends. I don't know what you're reading into my words but I literally said the rafolearchive mostly reposted happier interactions between Rafa and Nole because most of us enjoy people getting along well. And in the "most of us" group I very much included myself. (I think someone else may have said something about the rafolearchive posting more of Rafa's positive interactions with Novak (which is true, but in this case please talk to them and not me? Kind of a rant with full offense but I genuinely despise all the hate Geeta gets as a champion. Yes her battle was a pushover. You have exactly 1 fire type which could totally be your token “overleveled starter” and she’s basically done for. But as a character? She’s not that bland— not from everyone else’s standpoints. Specifically the gym leaders.

First of all, everyone forgets she’s not even the final battle of the Victory Road storyline. Second of all, the fact that in the post game when you rematch all the gym leaders, many of them seem to react somewhat brashly thinking that you are Geeta (as far as I remember. Cause like. I think they’re supposed to have some sort of meeting I guess but Geeta sends you to take care of matters instead.) Many of them mention Geeta having a weird aura— a bewitching aura even (quote taken specifically from gym leader Tulip.) and she seems to rub a lot of the gym leaders the wrong way mentally. People seem to forget that she’s blatantly supposed to be a character shrouded in mystery but everyone and their mom wanna pin the blame on the rock flower she sends at the end of her battle for why she’s a bad champion. Y’all are focusing on the wrong material. Yes, her battle is pretty decently hyped and is a let down because yeah, she’s got a weird ass team and doesn’t use Kingambit or Glimmora’s ability the “right way” and that “Gamefreak doesn’t know how to make a good game” as if most of y’all weren’t crying at the mere concept of Arven’s whole motive for his storyline. Y’all ain’t slick.

Glimmora as her ace is genius. Not because of the battle standpoint— in that regard, it’s of course used very poorly considering it’s hazard setting gimmick. This is introducing the importance of this Pokémon and the lore of Paldea as a whole. Glimmet and Glimmora have something to do with the origins of Area Zero. The way it’s found in large abundances— the emphasis on the Pokémon in general in the endgame. It’s supposed to display it’s importance and not much else. Maybe even give way to whatever is going on in the DLC. It’s called “The Hidden Treasures Of Area Zero” for goodness sake! I firmly believe that when the DLCs come out, we will be getting some major answers to some questions. Why does she battle so carelessly? Why does she emit such a bewitching aura? Why is Nemona oblivious to this? Why is Geeta just… like that? What! Is! Geeta’s! Deal!?

Geeta is a character with so much opportunity for open speculation. She is a character we are supposed to be theorizing on. She’s a character we are supposed to be learning more about as time goes on.

But all y’all wanna focus on her easy ass battle. Hmph.
