#I'mAllThree
The longer I sit on this, the more outdated it's going to get so one singular on-time happy (?) birthday to Aidan Oak fjsjdjfdj but this is mainly for @pkmn-downtheline, and enthusiasts of the very belated 1-year anniversary of the "bi Misha" debacle kjdfnkjdf. Happy belated Pride, even, while we're at it!!! #teenage years, #liberties were taken, #homophobic homosexual
Was it possible to drown yourself in your own drink?
Reid wondered about that, as he used his straw to slosh the pink fruity blend into another self-contained slushpool.
Sure, he’d have to take a…say…unconventional (?) approach to pull it off. One that—and he only admits, just slightly, in the very back corners of his mind—would probably be too complex for his own brain to even come up with but—it’d be worth it. Probably.
He felt his eyelids get even heavier.
No, definitely.
When the tiny vortex finished its little journey, and settled back down, the result didn't produce any sort of relief. So, he suppressed the urge to take another sip and instead, glared as hard as he could.
Because, maybe, just maybe, if he stared hard enough—
“No,” Calla casually cut in, right before she took another long sip of her own Pecha Berry smoothie. “If you’re going to drown yourself, you need a lot more drink than that.”
Reid lifted his head, and his grasp went loose from the sharp bend of the straw. The purple plastic twacked.
“…Twin telepathy is real.”
Calla swallowed a garbled hum, one quiet enough to come off as "cute"—heavy air quotations needed—and not obnoxious, her pen stilling against the table napkin she was doodling on.
“Maybe!” She popped the straw out of her mouth, shifting the pen in one hand, and taking a moment to straighten out her flimsy makeshift sketchpad. “Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because you keep mumbling out loud?” She playfully shrugged. “Who can say?”
Reid stuck out his tongue, before slowly pushing his drink aside. Calla just rolled her eyes, as she added one last, flowery line to her design concept. He couldn’t really see the “finished” product from this angle, but that didn’t matter once Calla spun it around.
Calla leaned back, her drink coming with her. “Thoughts?”
Reid shared a thumbs-up. “Looks cool!”
It reminded him of a viral fashion trend he saw on his PikaTok’s For You page.
She happily hummed in response, folding up the napkin and tucking it into an open pocket of her messenger bag. Calla then turned to her box of Kalosian fries that she had managed to somehow leave untouched until now.
Once she started taking envious looking bites, the crushing boredom hit him again like a punch to the gut.
Reid, whose arms and head collapsed against the table, moaned. “When’s this stupid Q&A going to start already? I feel like we’ve been waiting for hours now.”
“It’s only been 20 minutes.” Calla pulled out her phone, a fry poking out of her mouth. Reid looked at the screen to confirm, and internally screamed.
Or maybe, he did scream, because Calla was staring at him now. After a long silent beat, she picked up another fry and wordlessly hovered it near the smooshed, open corner of his mouth.
Reid groaned again, but accepted the greasy offering.
It doesn’t solve anything.
In fact, it kinda made him wish he had ordered a side of fries for himself when Calla got up to get seconds.
Fries were…good. Sure, some Choco-Choos or a Pi’Dove bar would be better...but fries were good.
The thought alongside the snack made him feel the tiniest bit better for a good ten minutes.
“Seconds. It’s only been 10 seconds.” Reid was about 10 seconds away from calling Uncle Oak or Goh about his confirmed theory about twin telepathy. But then, Calla tilted her head in turn. “I sacrificed one of my crispier fries for you and you only looked better for 10 seconds.” She showed him her phone again, pouting.
This time Reid resisted the urge to scream, and instead, laid his forehead flat against the table, letting the air be compressed out of him slowly.
“I’m not going to make it.”
—
Reid had made it.
Somehow. Even when he waited through an additional 15 minutes, on top of the expected 30, because Aidan decided he wanted to be fashionably late.
The minute, second, hour—whatever—this Q&A was over, Reid was going to run him over with his skateboard.
Except not really.
But also, yes really.
A high pitched squeal from the table to his right brought him out of his thoughts. Reid tiredly cocked his head around, and watched as an eager “Striver” waved their hand to answer the generic “Who’s excited to be here today?” Aidan was shooting off.
Because Aidan had decided it would be “fun” to do a mini Q&A with the audience for the pre-show, instead of…not.
Of, you know, not doing that. And who knows, maybe, starting the show he was already late for?
But who was Reid to argue that against a crowd of rabid stans who had already overwhelmed his puny groan of dejection?
So, here they were.
Reid sighed, hand slumped against chin, as he adjusted his gaze downwards, towards the faraway stage. (Aidan really couldn’t have scored any better seats for his “best friends”, huh?)
“By show of force, how many of you guys here today are extroverts?” A majority of the people in the crowd raised their hands. Calla included. With a speedy spunk, Reid might add.
Weirdly enough, Reid noticed Aidan wasn’t raising his own hand, even though he was just as much of an extrovert as Calla. But, he chalked it up to some weird emcee role thing and pushed it aside.
Nodding, as he surveyed the crowd, Aidan continued, “Okay, okay, now—how many introverts?”
Aidan shared another blinding smile of sly encouragement, probably confusing introvert traits with shyness, again. Even still, Reid could feel the smoothie in his stomach acting up.
So, he raised his hand, just halfway, alongside the small batch of people in the crowd who were also raising theirs. As Reid looked around, he noticed that most of his fellow introverts-in-arms, in this crowd, at least, were female.
Slightly embarrassed now, Reid lowered his hand even further. He then hid his face in his smoothie with—what he had intended to be—a quick, tiny gulp.
“Great! Now…how many bisexuals?” Reid all but nearly choked.
Uhhh….hello?!
Calla, even Calla, actually broke out of her food-induced spell, and paused mid-fry bite. “Huh?”
There was a distinct moment of silence, before a murmur began to ripple through the crowd, as one or two women in the front cautiously raised their hands. Two, three more, five, ten, more spreading throughout the crowd followed, and then—hollering and solitary bouts of screams of either ally ship or relatability came out from the back. Probably the latter, as Reid watched a sizable selection of men’s hands shoot up.
Aidan shot a spontaneous finger-gun in recognition of the growing excitement—the act riled up the audience even MORE.
And…it’s one of those weird “crowd work” things.
Reid heaved a sigh, his heart starting to settle back inside his chest.
And even though Reid’s shoulders should have also been released from tension and sunk back down, he felt one of them only get pulled higher. Along with his arm. “Calla?!”
Calla also seemed to have gotten over Aidan being Aidan, as she grinned at him with no sense of guilt. “What? You’re bi, too!”
“Well, yeah! But—“ Calla began to wave his arm around and Reid reluctantly watched as Aidan’s dazzling eyes trailed across the crowd, row after row, until right up to the balcony where their table was. Aidan noticed them then, prompting Calla to wave Reid’s arm for him even more aggressively, flushing Reid’s face completely red.
Reid decided to try communicating with him in the sheepish smile he shared: Look what I have to deal with—please, send help.
The message must have gotten lost in translation.
Or something like that, because Aidan only tensed up, frozen for the longest beat, until he forced the fakest of camera-worthy smiles their way alongside a brief wave. A wave, Reid suspected, was only directed towards Calla—the silver charm on his right wrist shone bright in his vision—before looking away.
Oh.
The balcony was full of shrieks and gushing admirers, but Reid felt numb.
Reid’s own smile fell apart. The embarrassment set into his face, like a red stain of shame. He tore his arm away from Calla’s grip, who released it with no resistance.
Calla giggled, staring straight ahead at Aidan. “He’s such a poser.”
“Y-yeah.”
Reid took a deep breath, as he pushed all his feelings down, and spit out: “The worst.”
…Sometimes, Aidan was mean mean. All Reid could do when it happened was…not dwell on it.
He didn’t mean anything by it.
The overly enthusiastic cheers and applause called both Calla’s and his attention back to the man of the hour.
“I’m so honored to have such a diverse crowd here today! One alive with energy—can we get another show of that for RotoPhone?”
The audience happily complied, including Calla, as Aidan’s RotoPhone rushed across every lane of the crowd and even managed to glide across the balcony area. When RotoPhone passed by them, specifically, Calla yelled even louder while Reid swallowed his pride, faked a woo, and showed off a weak peace sign.
Then, just like that, RotoPhone returned to Aidan’s side to finish recording the main event.
“Thanks Rotom,” Aidan gave his partner Pokemon another cheeky finger-gun, somehow causing another batch of piercing squeals and giggles to erupt from the audience.
Reid wasn’t sure what the deal was.
And, for once, Aidan seemed to agree, because even he managed to be caught off guard by the reaction. Luckily for him, it was a minor lapse of a scrunching eyebrow that only Reid and Calla could have recognized.
(Well—okay, ”and Calla”, if Calla wasn’t making eyes at her Pecha-dipped fry at the moment.)
“Uh, anyways, I’ve kept you guys waiting long enough. Should we get this—“
A hand shot up from a girl, standing dead center of the front row, and with a sleeping Linoone draped around her neck, like a scarf, who barely bristled with the motion. “Aidan, pardon the interruption but you didn’t raise your hand for any of your own questions—what’s your answer?”
A sudden cloak of silence draped itself over the crowd.
But then,
“Arceus, she’s bold.”……………...”But I gotta agree!”
A ripple of a murmur rolled into the crowd at that, before escalating to their own calls of a mostly resounding approval: “YEAH!!”, “THANK you, queen!!”, “Yes, please, answer!!”, “The people need to know!!!”.
And one attempted groan of “oh, who gives a fuck?!” from one of their fellow balcony tables before they were actively shushed (and growled?) into oblivion.
Reid blinked in bewilderment, and reached for his smoothie to sip at it coolly.
Seriously, what was everyone’s deal?
Aidan also seemed to take a moment, blinking, as he stared into the crowd, until a rakish grin-turned-laugh took over his face—that left him shining brighter than ever.
That cool sip Reid was taking, quickly transformed into a burning gulp.
“What? That’s it?” Aidan waved a hand around, in a vague fashion, and his RotoPhone moved to angle itself in the middle of the girl and Aidan. And while Reid couldn’t physically see this from his seat, he knew RotoPhone’s camera lenses were focusing in for that perfect shot. He could even picture the exact imagery in his head from past memories.
Reid tucked a hand under his chin, leaning closer, too.
“Obviously—“ Reid nodded along, tapping his finger to the beat of his next words, and sucking the straw between his teeth. He’s an extrovert. “—I’m all three.”
Reid’s drink erupted out of his mouth—at the same time that he heard a wet clatter, a scrape of chair legs from the table behind, and an explosion of fangirlish (and some guyish) screeching.
The smoothie, luckily, had all spilled onto the floor and parts of the metal railing because of the way his head was facing forward to watch the unfolding circus act that Aidan—why does he do any of this—Oak decided to ring-lead today.
Because randomly bringing up “bisexuals” was a meme, but doubling down had….meaning.
(Reid aggressively ignored the Skye-sounding mental retort of “don’t you mean memeing?”)
Was Aidan…serious? Was that why he brought it up? Did Reid actually…..have a chance?
He brought a hand up to his mouth to wipe away the excess pink, but found his focus centered on his accelerating heart rate. It was like he had just placed in a Pokemon Race. He could feel his heart go boom, boom, boom.
But before he could spare any further thought to…that, Reid heard a sharp inhale. And suddenly, he knew he would die before figuring out if Aidan was insane, genuinely coming out, or insane AND genuinely coming out as bisexual. Because out of all the attempts on his life he survived to make it here, he knew. He knew he wouldn’t live through his twin’s wrath for making such a mess. Instinctively, his hands clenched and he felt the clear cup crinkle in his grip.
…Except, he shouldn’t be holding onto a cup. Not anymore. Because he remembered the clatter.
His head whipped over to Calla, who was staring wide-eyed not towards the stage, but down at her own hands that were dripping. Pecha pink slush was splattered all over the floor on her side, too. As well as the front of her shorts, and her—not so—white leggings.
Reid’s foot moved forward on reflex, and he winced at a plastic sounding crunch underneath the press of his sneaker. The sound echoed in his head like an omen.
Calla looked like she was about to cry.
This smoothie was fucking cursed.
Reid was in defense mode. “I’m so sorry, Calla! I’ll go buy you a new one right now—wait no, napkins!”
Reid knocked his chair back, kicking the legs of it back with a sharp scrape across the floor.
Big mistake (#2).
An ear-splitting howl punctured his hearing from behind him, even in the midst of a bunch of high-pitched squeals from the ground floor.
So, fun fact: Reid hadn’t realized that the growling from the guy behind him had been a bit too animalistic for a human. And that the culprit, instead, was an actual feline Pokemon. An enraged Liepard, in fact, whose trainer just so happened to be currently absent from his table.
Well, it was a nice life while it lasted.
Calla’s dark facade managed to temporarily break then, as she, too, noticed the Liepard now extending its claws in anticipation—and her twin probably sweating buckets.
“Reid, run.”
“Yeahhh—you don’t need to tell me twice!” Reid grabbed his board, jumping on it, just as Liepard swatted a paw at him as some sort of a warning shot. Except then, it pounced.
And now, Reid was skating away as fast as he could, ignoring the small commotion he was causing by trying to maneuver a clustered group of tables and for “blocking people’s views”.
Which yeah, sorry, he was just trying to out-skate a fucking Liepard with a vengeance. But, no, that was fine with everyone because, at least, it wasn’t blocking their view of their “newly crowned bisexual king”. (He just came out, people!)
Though, honestly, maybe the Liepard was an Aidan Oak stan, even in spite of its earlier nap, because it was managing to chase after him without jumping onto any tables or even going above eye level.
Either way, he hated it!
He swerved past a couple of girls, whose hands were conjoined, jumping up-and-down to catch Aidan’s attention. They hissed, just as much as the Liepard did. He yelled back the thousandth fleeting apology.
Past the last table, he—skateboard and all—smoothly hopped over the barricade set up against non-ticketed guests. Of course, his “friend” made the leap, just as easily. Even still, he felt a sigh of relief, as the road ahead seemed to clear.
He sped up, the world around him beginning to blur.
But, just as he was rounding the last corner that would take him fully out of view of the closed-off event, Reid spared one last glance to see what he could. Because apparently, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of Aidan, even in an actual life-or-death situation. Aidan was on the mic again.
(He had no idea if his stupid Q&A would ever start.)
“I am a triple threat for a reason,” Aidan winked, and shot off his signature salute but with one modification. Instead of using two fingers, he separated his thumb to capitalize on the “three”.
Reid let out the longest groan, and kicked his back foot against the ground with force.
He was going to kill him.
After he escaped, he was going to strangle him. Hands on his collar, face pulled close to his, to rattle him back-and-forth. And then, maybe, MAYBE, very casually, he would….blurt out that he’s been in love with him since they were 10. Before asking him out. But, only maybe.
Reid pushed forward, his heart pounding out of his chest, in imperfect staccato of squeaky wheels and sharpened paws on jagged purple tiling.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After sending off a newly revitalized Calla to the Juice Shoppe with his dad’s credit card in hand, Aidan finally turned to address the sad Reid-shaped lump that had tumbled back to them in the middle of Calla’s brief recap of events.
“So? What in Arceus’ name happened to you?” Aidan cooly looked down at him.
“A Liep—“
“Never mind. I don’t want to hear it. But you need to be more careful.” Aidan reached for his face, grimacing at the scratches left scattered over his face. His fingers only briefly brushed against a particularly red one near the corner of his mouth, before Reid batted his hand away, flushing red.
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
Aidan felt that uncomfortable twitchy something towards him again, the one that pulled him back, as he couldn’t help but stare at him. It’s not yearning. He’s not Calla. Reid’s not….He’s not—
He automatically pulled out his RotoPhone from his pocket, set on silent mode, to log into his social media. When his eyes are glued to the screen, he doesn’t have to think about all the annoying things. “Whatever, dude, just don’t make a scene next time. It looks bad on me.”
He said, instead of the “I was just looking out for you” that he held back in his throat.
Reid huffed, but didn’t fight back. Instead, he scrambled to get up from the ground on his own. Once he managed it, Reid covered his nose and began to wipe away the dust and debris he had collected from his haphazard trip. Aidan tightened the grip on his phone. There was a packet of tissues that were burning a hole in his pocket.
He made no movement for them.
“Fine, whatever,” was finally muttered out. And it was the last thing Aidan heard before tuning out, but apparently (and he learned this later), Reid had kept going—his voice quiet.
“But, forget that…I…wanted to ask you something….”
When his main Flitter account popped up, he ignored the influx of notifications and DMs he had gotten after the Q&A, and switched over to his secret The Young and the Pokémon fan account: @/incognitoflareon. It was named as such to align with his allegiance with Team Flareon/Jax Dyners. The obvious choice.
Anyone who was Team Vaporeon/Harold Dyners were idiots who didn’t understand Marcia Lynzel’s character arc and that what she needs most in a partner was passionate individuality and an unpredictable move set, and not the guy who stuck with the Boulder Guard strategy (and therefore Clara) for 10 years because it was “safe”.
…Okay nope, this was the kind of thinking that made him sound like a loser—he sounded like Briar. He needed to just scroll in peace.
But, remembering his brother kinda grossed him out, so he replied to some rando’s tweet talking about Team Vaporeon with a couple of barf emojis before scrolling past to find the memes about this week’s reveal of Larcenzia’s one-eyed ex-husband twice-removed. And her new Purrloin.
“—Are you even listening to me?!”
Aidan suddenly heard while speed reading through another tweet he disagreed with: a “meta” talking about Marcia’s secret affinity for water-types. For once, he decided to take the path less-traveled by, and forced himself to scroll past it, before answering honestly.
“No, what.”
Reid groaned. “Ugh, I’m being serious here! I just…you know…”
No, he didn’t know.
For some reason, Reid sounded nervous, or nervous enough, that Aidan looked back up. And Reid’s appearance matched his tone of voice. He was fidgeting, his gaze was turned sideways, and his cheeks were brushed with those delicate, little red streaks.
Aidan avoided looking at him directly. He did not have a good feeling about this.
“Okay, please spit it out before I lose my mind.”
“A-alright, geez!!…..it’s just….” Reid’s voice got disturbingly quiet as his face got even redder: “when….did you realize you were bi?”
Aidan’s Rotophone slipped from his fingers, causing a sharp, wavering craaack turned thud to strike against his eardrums like a gong that wouldn’t stop ringing.
It…wasn’t his Rotophone. Once it had escaped its trainer’s grip, the auto-wake feature had instantly unlocked, allowing his Rotom to save itself from Aidan’s usual habits. It had swiftly flown back into his pocket. He could even feel it vibrating in annoyance as he continued to think.
No, what Aidan heard crack was something else. His sanity.
“Excuse me?”
Aidan sputtered. “I’m not like you—”
Reid’s head shot up, and Aidan immediately retracted, hands up.
“I mean, you know I’m your biggest ally and all—#gaylivesmatter and all that!” Aidan pointedly ignored the exaggerated eye-roll Reid melted into, and instead, sharpened his own gaze. “But, I’m not gay. So, why would you even think that?”
Reid bit his lip, which Aidan knew meant: he was getting upset. Which also meant—
“Uh…because you said you were? Hope that helps.” Reid got snarky.
He legit could not have delivered that last bit any dryer. Aidan could feel his face twitching.
“When? Literally, when?!”
Reid cocked his head now, his eyebrows furrowed. Aidan couldn’t tell if it was from anger or confusion. Maybe, both: frustration. Either way, it was rich, coming from him. “You’re kidding, right?”
“ON WHAT—“ Aidan caught himself, and took the longest inhaling breath. Arceus, deep in the skies above, he’s a good person. So, why was he being forced to deal with this without his grande Hazelnut Bianco latte with his usual pattern, right now? “Obviously…not. Sooooo.“
Aidan gave him a look that was clearly meant to push Reid into giving it all up, but instead, Reid’s frustration was melting into genuine confusion. As if, Aidan was the crazy one here.
“You…HAVE to be messing with me. I mean I know it’s you but—there’s no way that Mr. #I’mAllThree didn’t know what he was saying.”
“I’m #AllWhatNow?”
He watched as Reid’s face went through a series of emotions—frustration, anger, concern, sadness?, contemplation—until it finally landed on contentment. Like he reached a miraculous revelation he didn’t want to share with Aidan.
But before Aidan could throttle him for the info—Reid coughed.
Or pretended to.
Reid had a smile on his face now, and it wasn’t a positive one. It was the type he made when he was holding back a laugh.
“…Dude, during the pre-Q&A—“
“Connngrats on the bisexuality!” Calla cheered, a skip in her step, as she approached with the latte he asked her to get while she was buying her “replacement smoothie”. Aidan was already speechless, but his face took on another wrinkle when he noticed the latte art. It was notably not his usual rosetta pattern he made sure to request, but instead, a shimmery, rainbow heart.
Calla picked up on the hard look Aidan must have been giving his latte art, and then nodded knowingly. “The Staryubucks employee mentioned it. I had no clue.” Reid finally lost it at that—laughing wildly.
Okay, something inside him was going to snap. And then, break him. What did he even say?!
All he did was get a temperature check of the crowd.
All he did was ask about introverts, extroverts, and bisexuals.
What about any of that—
Aidan had never more desperately scrambled for his phone than he had at that very moment. Jamming it on took a couple more button presses than usual because RotoPhone was weirdly still upset about the previous offense. Even though Aidan was clearly having a crisis. When the screen finally shone, his finger mashed the Flitter app. And then, the trending page.
#I’mAllThree
Aidan Oak
Bisexual
Arrested
Triple Threat
WE BEEN KNEW
#Harley’s Big Gay 20th Birthday Bash
Bi-vers
Allie Hayden
#fridayvibes
Aidan felt the color slowly seep out of him, just from the page alone, but ultimately jammed his thumb against the first topic that was currently being narrated to him in Reid’s voice via the previous mention that was now echoing throughout his head.
A rapid scroll through the reactions, memes, and more importantly—copypastas—of…his own words, and he finally understood.
Aidan had…mixed up the words bisexual and ambivert.
When Calla finally handed over his gay latte, with a painfully encouraging smile and noting that he seems “thirsty”, as Reid continued to laugh at him, Aidan briefly wondered if he could choke himself with it.

Here are my interpretation of what @c-rose2081‘a children from their fic Guiding Light might look like. LET ME JUST SAY THEY ARE ALL ABSOLUTE CUTIES EVEN IF IT’S UP TO READERS INTERPETION ON WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE BUT I WILL DIE FOR THEM OK!!! I love them!! 😢☹️(❁´◡`❁)(●'◡'●)(❁´◡`❁)(┬┬﹏┬┬)╰(*°▽°*)╯
Highly recommend reading the story, it’s so beautiful 🤩. Just you’ll know the height difference is totally different cause I suck at that 🥲 I’ll fix it in the final design but they remind me a lot of my train kiddos, maybe they’ll be friends
* I imagined Elena in a dress to look like Dolores/Mariano fankid, I wouldn’t done her hair in afro puffs with bows which just left me 🥰✨ but I forget, maybe in the final design she has a blanket I would’ve done a toy 🧸 but I didn’t know what kind of animal
* For Juan and Hernandez, they remind me a lot of human ttte Bash/Dash and Bill/Ben designs so they are suppose to look like twins but also not really, Juan wears overalls with a striped diamonds shirt underneath while Hernandez wears striped suspenders and a shirt with u like designs on it, both wear scarves like Camilo’s concept art, with Hernandez being the more quieter, silent of the two
* Pablos is taller than them and the twins they‘re short ok, think Antonio height and I still see Pablos as the one who still get named up and be proud of his cuts, scraps and bruises, hence his rather raggard appearance even though he got new clothes but I forget his jacket but I’m figuring out the bull pose
* Adrianne looks up to Isabela so I imagined her like the village kids with braids to allude to Isa’s before she changed it with some flowers on her shirt and skirt
*Bianca is the second tallest and I know she looks like a young Pepa but she isn’t and doesn’t mind getting dirty and a bit sporty as well so I added that in the final design, she has curlier hair in a braid, she reminds me a lot of my human Molly design
✨ from skin tone I added some colored pencil but to a bit of imagination Elena is somewhere akin to Dolores/Mariano, Bianca’s is akin to Antonio/Felix/Alejandra, Adrianne I see as somewhat fair-skinned thanks to her hair being a fair color, maybe around Pepa/Cecilia the ‘twins’ are roughly the same except Juan has more freckles and wavy/curlier hair than Hernandez, who look like Antonio concept art, Pablos look somewhat like Camilo’s old concept art which is most of the inspiration alongside them trains gijinkas
But in all seriousness These characters belong to @c-rose2081 please check their tumblr out, they’re incredibly talented with many aus 🤩💖✨
#submission#fanart#c-rose2081#hope you like <3#i will die for them#but srsly go support them they're amazing#they remind me of my own vechile kiddos and let them all be friends ok (●'◡'●)#i will fix their design and looks soon#also sorry if it looks blurry and messy#i kept smuding the pencil with my hands my bad#my art#my art stuff#but not my art#my art lol#my trash

AN: Hey guys, it’s me again! Just thought I ought to say, if you want vague updates and to talk to me more, I have a writing Tumblr, too! Twitter is Sunshinecackle, and Tumblr is Writteninsunshine! I also have a writing Discord that is currently pretty dead. xD If you want it, please contact me on Twitter!
So, this is for another drabble challenge for the FicWip server I’m in. I couldn’t help but write for these two, I love them a lot. They’re OC’s with my friend Mel ( @southxparkxafterxdark), two of our Alt!Verse Alex (Mel’s Douchebag/New Kid @nxwkid) and Pete’s kids. They’re the oldest two, a pair of twins. I just really love them, and Leslie is always super loud, so he’s easy to write.
Also, I am migrating to only posting to Ao3, and no longer uploading here. I am archiving this account. If you still want to see my fics, check Sunshinecackle on Ao3 or Writteninsunshine on Tumblr!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

"You're lucky, you know that?"
Leslie's words caused Vernon's head to jerk up, and he stared at the other man like his head was falling off.
"Lucky?"
"Yeah... You, uh... You've gotten me out of a lot of shit... There's a lot of times that I think if you weren't around to be my good luck charm... I probably would have died."
Oh, so /these/ were the kinds of cheery thoughts that went through Leslie's head when he was forced to lounge in bed all day. Vern chuckled regardless, shaking his head.
"You shouldn't make me push our luck so hard, then, don'tcha think?"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
AN: I had a lot for Leslie going on in my head, so I decided to do this prompt for him and Vernon. Leslie is not good at sitting still and needs a babysitter. Who better than the man who went and got him pregnant in the first place?
Prompt: Lucky

Platform 9 3/4
Pairing: Percy Weasley x Nicole Weasley
Word Count: 1.7k
Summary: Nic and Percy take their daughters to King’s Cross for a new school year
A/N: More of me writing instead of working on assignments and also introducing our fankids
King’s Cross Station was filled with muggles just as it was every year. The Weasley family paid no mind as they headed to their destination, pushing the trolleys along. Molly checked her wristwatch, red curls falling in her face for a moment before she tucked the stray hairs behind her ear. She readjusted the glasses on her face and looked over at her little sister.
“Hurry up, Lucy, we’re going to be late!” She barked at her sister. The owl in the cage on Lucy’s trolley let out a noise, unhappy with being woken up.
“Molly, we have twenty minutes before the train leaves. We’ll make it, sweetheart,” Nic said to her daughter as she walked beside Lucy.
Molly was still young but already so much like her father. She had the Weasley signature curly red hair, along with her father’s eyes and freckles. Her nose was only something she could inherit from her mother, along with her mother’s love for muggle pens. It came as a surprise to Nic and Percy when their oldest daughter was sorted in Slytherin, but it made sense given she was as ambitious as her father and had a knack for being resourceful in any given situation. She also had a talent for being tricky, able to slip the truth out of anyone with ease. Percy saw a bright future for Molly in the Ministry.
The younger of the two, Lucy, was nearly the spitting image of her mother with curly dark brown hair, although during the summer the light gave her curls a bit of a red tint, and once again her mother’s nose. She had brown eyes with spots of green, as opposed to her mother’s true hazel color. Lucy was starting her first year at Hogwarts and was incredibly nervous. Her sister didn’t help.
“This year’s different, mum. I’m a prefect! I have to be there early to patrol the train.” Molly insisted. Nic looked over at her husband and gave him the ‘she’s just like you’ look he was all too familiar with. Percy shook his head with a soft smile as the four continued towards the platform.
“We wouldn’t be late if you hadn’t been polishing that stupid badge,” Lucy mumbled.
Molly’s head snapped towards her sister. “Excuse me, but being a prefect is not only a serious responsibility but an honor, and–”
“Oh look, girls, Platform nine and three quarters,” Percy interrupted, saving Lucy from the lecture she would have no doubt gotten from Molly. “Molly, why don’t you go first.”
Molly tore her glare away from her sister and headed straight for the wall between platforms. She disappeared into the wall and Nic smiled down at Lucy.
“Do you want to go by yourself?” She asked Lucy.
Lucy stood for a moment as she thought. She nodded. “Yes.”
Nic stepped away from Lucy and Percy grabbed his wife’s hand. They watched as Lucy took a deep breath and ran towards the wall before disappearing.
“She’s a natural,” Percy whispered. Nic smiled at the very obvious pride on his face. She kissed his cheek.
“Best not to keep them waiting,” she said, pulling him towards the wall. They rushed through and saw the busy cluster that was Platform 9 ¾. Lucy stood close by, hands gripping her trolley tightly as she had waited for her parents to run through. Meanwhile, Molly was already heading towards the train.
“Keep up, Lucy!” She shouted back at her younger sister.
“I’m coming!” Lucy rolled her eyes and pushed her trolley as she started to follow Molly.
Unlike most students at the platform, Molly was already wearing her school uniform minus the robes (She had insisted she’d put on the robes once she got to the train). Her green and silver tie was tightly secure on her neck and she smoothed out the sweater she wore. Molly stopped her trolley close to a section of the train that wasn’t heavily occupied and Lucy stopped next to her. The family of four loaded the trunks and owl cages onto the train, but Molly held tightly onto her ginger cat, Ginger.
Nic kissed the girls on the heads, checking over to make sure they had everything. “Wands?” Molly nodded, and Lucy held hers tightly in her hand before slipping it back into her pocket. “Good, okay, lunches? I packed you girls something to eat. Lucy, do you have your sweater from Gran?”
“Yes mum,” Lucy replied. “It’s in my trunk.”
“Good,” Nic pressed another kiss to Lucy’s hairline.
“I should get onto the train soon,” Molly said, surveying the students. She recognized plenty of students from her year and her house. Her face became bright red when she saw a boy from Hufflepuff, another prefect. He was a year above her but Molly knew him because his sister was her best friend.
Lucy pulled away from her mother’s smothering of affection in time to notice the boy. She grinned mischievously. “Molly, is that the boy you fancy?” She asked her sister loudly.
Molly glared at Lucy. “Shut up, loud mouth. He’ll hear you!”
“That’s the point,” Lucy giggled.
“Girls,” Percy warned. This past summer they had started getting arguments so much easier than usual.
“Watch Ginger for me,” Molly ordered her sister, putting the cat into Lucy’s arms. The cat purred as he was held, and Lucy happily stroked his fur. “I can’t carry him while I monitor the train.”
“Say goodbye to us before you go,” Nic insisted. She hugged Molly tightly, giving her a few kisses on the head. Molly groaned in embarrassment but allowed her mother to continue. When Nic finished, Percy hugged Molly tightly.
“I’m proud of you, Molls,” he said, reminding her. Ever since her sorting into Slytherin, she was deathly afraid of disappointing her parents having not been sorted into Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. A reminder from her parents every once in a while went a long way for her. Percy pressed a quick kiss to her head before letting Molly go. She waved goodbye to her mother and father as she stepped onto the train, and Percy swore he saw her wipe away some tears.
Lucy stood cuddling Ginger as she watched students load onto the train. Nic ran her fingers through Lucy’s hair.
“Are you excited for your first year?” Nic asked.
Lucy shrugged. “Bit nervous.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll be brilliant.” Percy told her. “You’ll have your sister to look after you, even if you’re in different houses. Your Uncle Bill and Uncle Charlie looked after me when I started my first year.”
“What if the Sorting Hat can’t sort me?” Lucy asked.
“It can. The hat always can. Don’t be afraid, okay? I was a hat stall. It took seven minutes for the hat to decide whether I was a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff.” Nic told Lucy, giving her shoulder a squeeze of encouragement. Lucy nodded, a look of determination coming over her features.
The whistle blew to the train, signaling the train was leaving in 5 minutes.
“You should get going soon,” Nic kissed Lucy’s head.
“Before you go,” Percy smiled. “Is there anything you’re forgetting, Treacle?”
She stood there for a moment as she thought before shrugging. “I can’t think of anything.”
Percy pulled her glasses from his jacket pocket. “You almost forgot your reading glasses.”
“Oh!” She took them from him and put them in the pocket of her sweater. “Thanks, dad.”
Percy pulled her into a hug, a little longer than one he had given Molly, and kissed her head. “We love you so much, please write to us. We’ll see you soon, okay?”
Lucy nodded, smiling up at him. She waved goodbye to her parents before getting onto the train and finding a compartment. She sat down by the window and looked out of it, Ginger sat in her lap. She waved at her parents one last time before the whistle to the train blew. As it did, Percy put a hand on Nic’s waist and pulled her close. They waved to Lucy as the train started to leave. Once they couldn’t see her anymore, they stopped waving.
Nic wiped away a stray tear and looked up at Percy. “The house is going to be so quiet without them.”
“It will be,” he agreed. “But we’ll keep busy. We can bring back lots of things we did before the girls were born.”
They started to head in the direction they came to leave the platform.
Nic nodded. “Playing chess to see who makes dinner, trying new recipes for the bakery and making an unhealthy amount of sweets that we send to your family.”
Percy laughed and kissed her head. “That and more.”
That night, dinner had just been finished and Nic waved her wand, the dishes cleaning themselves. Percy was upstairs in his office, working on something last minute for the Ministry. It was the last bit he had to do for the night and then he promised Nic a relaxing evening. She was about to leave the kitchen when she heard a screech and saw an owl perch in the window. It had a letter from Hogwarts.
She quietly summoned a sickle and gave the coin to the owl before it flew off, leaving her with the letter. She opened it quickly and read through it. Nic couldn’t help but let out a squeal of excitement before hurrying up the stairs. She swung open the door to Percy’s office and he jumped in his seat.
“What’s wrong?” He asked worriedly.
“Nothing’s wrong, we got a letter from the school. Lucy’s been sorted,” Nic told him, barely about to contain her excitement.
Percy stood from his desk and shook his head as he smiled. “You scared me, darling. What has she been sorted into?” He asked, hugging her waist.
Nic grinned, showing him the letter. “She’s a Gryffindor! Just like her father.”
Percy kissed her head. “That’s fantastic. I’m so proud of her.”
“I can start making the house cookies for her and Molly now,” Nic grinned.
“I hope you make more, because once any of our nieces and nephews find out you made them they’ll start sending owls to us. And then my parents and brothers will want some.” Percy laughed.
“I know how it goes for us, Perce. Luckily for you, your wife is a very talented baker who is proficient in it both the magical way and muggle way.”
“Don't tell mum, but I do prefer when you cook the muggle way,” he whispered it, a secret between the two of them despite their empty home.
“I know,” Nic whispered back, kissing him softly.

Cato/Tempest Support Log (C-S)
The first two fankids in our long support log are Cato (son of Aversa) and Tempest (daughter of Frederick)! Written by Ruu and edited by Tana.
C Support
Tempest (neutral): Training’s done, the stew is simmering, we have plenty of firewood. Miranda and Jordan say the med tent is finely stocked, and same to the weapons tent.
Tempest (pleased): *sigh* Seems I finally have a second to myself.
Tempest: Ah, how lovely. A moment for me... Hm.
Tempest (neutral): ...
Tempest: No one will notice if I just... * leaves*
((Scene Transition))
Tempest (pleased): Ah, I thought it would be pretty here. I’m glad I could finally investigate.
Tempest: I know Papa will adore these flowers for sure.
(enter Cato)
Cato (playful): Terrifying Tempest, is that you?
Tempest (neutral): Huh?!
Cato (neutral): Of course it is. Why should I suspect anyone else.
Tempest (stern): How did you find me, Cato?
Cato: I looked around camp everywhere for you. Had a question about cleaning weapons.
Tempest (neutral): You were looking for me? Wait—You were going to actually DO something?
Cato (sleepy): Shocker, I know. My sword’s all scratched up.
Tempest: Well, there should be more cleaning rags and wax in the weapons tent.
Cato (neutral): Checked. Nothing.
Tempest: Hmm. That’s awfully strange. I suppose someone must have finished it off.
Tempest (injured): Well I do know one thing—
Cato: And that is?
Tempest: The innards of this plant here is used to make wax and provides a similar sheen. It would make your sword look better until we can see an armourer.
Cato: You’re a flowers-dork?
Tempest (neutral): I dabble in garden management. I spent many a day in my childhood amongst the forests of Ylisse.
Cato: And I’ve got a rag. Mind if I join you?
Tempest: If you wish.
B Support
Cato: Hey Tempest, thanks for that tip. My sword looks better than ever.
Tempest: Hm, I’m glad.
Cato: What was that flower again?
Tempest: Bathing Beauty.
Cato (happy): Pfft.
Tempest (please): Haha.
Cato (neutral): Hey look at me for a sec.
Tempest (carefree): What—*laugh* Cato why are you so close? Gods, just grab my face why don’t you.
Cato (serious): Your eyes are bloodshot.
Tempest (neutral): ...
Tempest (injured): I suppose I’m just tired.
Cato: Come to think of it, I didn’t see you come back to camp last night after cleaning the sword...
Cato: Tempest, were you out there all night long?
Tempest (stern): I don’t think it’s any of your business, Cato.
Cato: We marched today too!
Tempest: I’ve seen much worse in the future. A simple overnighter will not be the death of me.
Cato: Yeah but over-exhaustion will. You really should sleep.
Tempest (injured): I wish I could, but when there’s jobs to do I can’t sleep. And there is always work.
Cato: Why?
Tempest: Because it’s my nature.
Cato (disgusted): Bad Tempest!
Tempest (neutral): I beg your pardon?
Cato: Just because lazy buggers like me do our jobs horribly doesn’t mean you have to pick up the slack. That’s for the adults to worry about.
Tempest (remorse): But we came back to save our parents—
Cato (neutral): And they gotta put in the work to survive. We both do. And are you good to old Freddybear dead?
Tempest (Injured): Gods, you call him that too?
Cato (serious): Would he be joyous and happy if his daughter died?
Tempest: ...I suppose not.
Cato: Right. Now you’re enrolled in Professor Cato’s Relaxation Routine.
Cato (neutral): Now, what makes you calm?
Tempest (neutral): Doing odd jobs around camp.
Cato (serious): Not that.
Cato (neutral): You like nature right?
Tempest: Yes, I enjoy nature.
Cato (flirty): Then c’mon.
Cato: We’re going to pick flowers or something! Lay in a field or whatever! You’re gonna relax!
Tempest (stern): Cato? Cato! Don’t go into that patch!
A Support
Cato (disgusted): A...A...ACHOO!
Cato: This gods-damned rash is burning my whole body. Fuc—
Tempest (stern): I told you not to go into that bush.
Cato (distressed): I was tryna get you relaxed!
Tempest (neutral): It’s on your face too. Here, Brady said to keep applying the lotion every half hour.
Cato (serious): I can do it myself.
Tempest: You can’t see, now come here.
Tempest (neutral): My, you have very pretty eyes. Crimson, just like the autumn leaves in the north.
Cato (flirty): Sounds like you’ve been spending time with Kimi...
Tempest: ...
Tempest (pleased): There.
Cato (neutral): Why are you sitting back down?
Tempest (neutral): Because I’m going to stay with you.
Cato: You ain’t gonna run off and save the rest of the camp?
Tempest: No.
Tempest: My friend needs my help. A knight pledges herself to the people before the kingdom.
Tempest: A kingdom is nothing without its people.
Cato: ...
Tempest: Do you need anything?
Cato (disgusted): I want this freaking rash to stop flaring up but that’s not happening.
Tempest: Well I suppose we have time to kill then.
Tempest: May I ask questions about you?
Cato (neutral): Shoot.
Tempest: Why do you shy from my touch?
Cato (distressed): Gods.
Tempest: I’m serious. Every time you come close you seem pained. And when I approach you move away like I burnt you.
Tempest (remorse): ...Do I make you uncomfortable?
Cato (serious): *sigh* Gods...
Cato: No Tempest, it’s just some junk from childhood.
Cato: Nothing I want to get into.
Tempest (injured): Ah. My apologies.
Cato (neutral): I’m trying to get better. Hence why I was so touchy with you before. I thought you could help me with it.
Tempest (neutral, blush): Do I ease you?
Cato: You have a presence I enjoy.
Tempest: Thank you.
Cato: I probably should’ve told you.
Tempest (pleased): Perhaps.
Cato: I’ll try to do better. But, as a friend, could you just be a little easier with me?
Tempest: I will be as gentle as buds on a blooming flower.
Cato (happy): Thanks Temmie.
Tempest: You’re quite welcome.
Tempest: Truth be told, this confession makes me want to take your lessons to heart.
Tempest: We could both become better people together.
Cato (neutral): Oh?
Tempest: Yes. So you have to hurry up and get well so I can learn how to relax.
Cato: If it’s the healer’s orders...
S Support
Cato (neutral): Asters, violets, Black-eyed Susans... There’s scorpion grass and baby’s breath... Think that will be okay?
Tempest (neutral): What do you have there?
Cato (happy): Temmie! Hey...
Tempest: What have you behind your back Cato?
Cato (flirty): It’s just a little thank you gift. For taking care of the camp and me.
Tempest: I can go if it’s not ready...
Cato (neutral): Nah, just... Close your eyes? For me?
Tempest: Of course.
Cato: ...
Cato: There.
Cato: Okay, open ‘em.
Tempest (blush, pleased): A flower bouquet! How sweet.
Cato: I grabbed them for you. Astrid gave me some guidance.
Cato: I even gave her a high five after.
Tempest: That’s wonderful progress!
Tempest (neutral): I also stopped training with Kjelle before we both fell over. A vast improvement from working to exhaustion.
Cato: That’s really great Tempest.
Cato: I’m sorta proud of both of us...
Tempest: As am I. We’re both making great improvements in short time.
Tempest: These flowers look wonderful.
Cato (blush): You like ‘em?
Tempest: I adore them. May I?
Cato: *breath in* If I can try something after.
Cato: Thanks, but they’re your flowers.
Tempest: Yet you look lovely with them. Scorpion grass looks wonderful with your shade of hair…
Tempest: Anyways, you wanted to try something?
Cato: Right.
Cato: Close your eyes?
Tempest: All right.
Tempest (injured): …
Cato (eyes closed): ...
Tempest (blush, neutral): Cato, you took my hand and kissed it!
Cato (serious, blush): I tried my damnedest okay...
Tempest: No, no, don’t take it the wrong way...
Tempest: I liked it.
Cato (sleepy, blush): *sigh* Thank Naga.
Cato (neutral, blush): I think you’re my strength Tempest.
Tempest (pleased, blush): I was thinking the same thing.
Tempest: Perhaps we should stick together. I would hate to be without my strength.
Cato (happy, blush): Me too.
Ending
Cato, Feigning Fighter
Tempest, Devoted Darling
While still glared at his Plegian roots, Cato learnt to open himself up to touch even further. Scholars say that there was not a time where he wasn’t holding his beloved Tempest’s hand or by her side. When their army service was complete, they found land that backed onto a large forest, at Tempest’s request. The two lived out the rest of their days happily together.

Ari and Sage’s 17th Birthday
Summary: It’s the twin’s seventeenth birthday party! They have all of their friends coming over, and Ashley is trying to make it as perfect as possible for them. With new faces coming over, it is definitely one to remember for years to come!
W: self-insert, fluff, fankids
((Note: This is really dialogue heavy, but hey, my twins are seventeen! I can’t believe this and I’m so excited. Even if I’m super late on a lot fo my stuff I had to get this fic out there. It’s their party with all of our friends and theirs. Please check this out it took me a while to churn this out and make it perfect. It would mean the world to me if you guys did.))
It was our idea to have the party at our house. The twins weren’t sure if they wanted to celebrate much, but I refused for them to go through their seventeenth birthday and not celebrate. They deserved to have a great day, and I wanted to give it to them. We both did. So we called up our friends, had them invite a few of theirs, and we let them decide mostly everything. Two separate meal options since neither of the twins like the same thing, and a cake with two different flavors. Everything split down the middle, as it has always been when having twins.
Marielle and the others were already here, and we were currently just waiting for a few more friends of Ariana’s before we started. She didn’t at all have the most people coming over, especially since Sage invited half the basketball team. It was a little unnerving at first housing a bunch of taller than me teenagers, but they’re all close enough at this point that I know them as if they were my own kids.
It helps that I’m one of the team mom’s in the first place.
“Mom, do you need any help?” Ariana asked, bouncing into the kitchen with a grin.
Her dark hair tousled in waves over her shoulders, and she was looking extremely beautiful. I could believe that she was seventeen, especially when she looks so grown up. It was a little hard for me to handle, and I could tell it was even worse for Shiroe. But he had a better way of hiding it than me.
“No, baby girl, I’m fine. You just enjoy your party. Is everyone here yet?”
“Not yet, I’m still waiting on one more person.”
She pursed her lips as she said that, which was a clear indication that she was nervous. I tilted my head, looking at her as I lifted my eyebrows curiously.
“And who’s this last person? Hmmm?”
“Mom, please, we talked about this.”
I laughed, reaching over to pat her cheek. They felt so hot and it was obvious that she was nervous. I tried to relax her, knowing that it was supposed to be a fun day for her. But I was a little nervous myself. It was a big day for her for plenty of reasons.
“You told Dad, right? He knows that he’s coming?”
“Yes, baby, I told your dad. He’s excited to meet him!”
Ariana twirled her hair between her fingers, adjusting her dress nervously. I smiled, taking her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
“It’s going to be okay, Ari. Just enjoy your day. You two are seventeen! All your loved ones are here to celebrate your big day. It’s going to be fine.”
She gave a little smile.
“Thanks, Mom. I just,” She breathed a sigh, “I really want you guys to like him.”
“And I’m sure we will. Now, go and have fun. Don’t you worry about a thing. I’m taking care of everything.”
She nodded, squeezing my hand and quickly running back into the living room.
Ariana has been nervous for several days about today. Not just because she was going to be seventeen, but because she had someone she wanted to introduce us to. When I first heard about it, I wasn’t very surprised. I’ve been knowing that she liked someone for a while, and only recently did I hear about her actually having a boyfriend.
She worries too much. Her father isn’t the type of man to be too over protective, but I know that he is protective. He wants his princess to be happy, which is why he’s only a little worried about another guy coming into the picture. But he knows better than to ruin that, and he wouldn’t ever dream about that. She’s seventeen now, and can make her own decisions. He trusts her, but he will still be there always.
But, at the end of the day, he’s still a protective dad.
I finished setting up the table and making sure dinner was situated, dusting myself off and wandering into the living room and immediately into Shiroe’s arms.
“Hey angel,” He said, kissing my cheek, “Do you need any help?”
I giggled softly, pressing a hand to his cheek.
“Nope, I’m all set. Dinner is ready, the cake is here, and we’re just waiting on one more of Ari’s friends before we start.”
“That’s great, sweetheart.”
He kissed my cheek again and again, nuzzling his nose against my own before pulling away. I couldn’t help but blush, moving past him to make sure that everyone was doing okay.
Naotsugu was chatting up with a few of Sage’s friends, asking about the season that they had won and the streak that they were on for the past few years. I slipped passed to make sure the boys were doing good, listening to Rin chatting me up.
“Mrs. S, you need my help? I can make a mean dri- I mean, meal-”
“That’s okay, Rin,” I said, “You guys just keep having fun. Be good.”
He gave a nod, grinning widely and elbowing Sage in the ribs.
“I heard Ari has a boyfriend. Why haven’t I met the kid yet?”
“Kid? He’s the same age as us, idiot.”
Sage rolled his eyes, the irritated look with his glasses on just making him look like a mini Shiroe. The older he gets it seems like the more he looks exactly like Shiroe. I could tell that by the time he’s an adult it’s going to be even more hilariously similar.
Rin grumbled under his breath, but it was clear by the grin plastered on his face he didn’t care all that much. I couldn’t help but laugh at the two of them. “Be nice to your sister today, okay? Both of you. It’s gonna be a fun day, but I’m going to need you two to behave yourselves,” I said. They both nodded, Sage looking a tad bit more serious than his best friend.
Just in time for Ariana to come scampering over, dragging behind a face that I had seen before. But no one else in the room had. Apparently the doorbell had rung and I had no idea of it. It was probably because of the tons of people we had here today. I smiled warmly, looking at Ariana’s twist of her lips as she tried her best to smile. The boy beside her looked rather nervous himself, being that I was the only familiar face in the room.
“Mom, you remember Len,” She said with a grin.
“Yeah, definitely. It’s nice to see you again. How are you?”
“I’m- uh… I’m good.”
Poor thing look rather flushed, trying his best to seem relaxed.
He and I met at school when I was picking Ariana up from a club that they had together. That was apparently how the two of them met, having shared interests in science. From what I heard from her he’s incredibly smart, and he looked like a well-spoken kid. From what I knew about him, I wasn’t surprised that Ariana had taken a liking to him. I always knew that she’d be interested in someone who shared her interest and intelligence.
He was in the same grade as the twins, having a couple of similar classes from Ariana. She told me a lot about him over the passing days before we came by, and I could tell that she was really happy. She did like this boy a lot, and I was excited for her. Even if I was a little nervous given that this was her very first boyfriend. He looked like a sweet kid, a little shy which is something that Ari had in common with him.
The kid was a little taller than Ariana, but not as tall as Sage. He was a nice looking kid with dark hair and bright green eyes. He looked exactly how she had described him, and she talked about him for hours. It was cute to see her eyes light up, and I remembered that look all too well. I was happy for her, and I just hoped for the best.
“Don’t be nervous, hon. It’s a party, and everyone here is nice. I promise.”
I gave Ari a wink, watching her purse her lips nervously yet again.
“Why don’t you go and introduce him to everyone. Make him feel more at home. Drinks are in the kitchen, of course. Help yourself to whatever you want. We’ll have some food soon.”
“Hey Len, right?”
Sage interjected as soon as I finished, pushing up his glasses and reaching out to shake his hand. I was a little surprised, considering I figured they had met already. More like indirectly, I guess. Ariana looked a little red, staring her brother down as if to tell him not to do anything stupid.
“You’ve already seen my brother before on the basketball team. He thinks he’s the best,” She mocked a bit, but I could tell by her smile it was merely just a joke.
“Uh, yeah, you’re really good.”
“Thanks.”
“But not as good as me, though.”
Rin popped in, throwing his elbow on Sage’s shoulder with a large grin.
Ariana and I laughed, rolling our eyes almost in sync with each other. That was Rin. I’ve known him since he was little, and that attitude has never changed. No matter how old he gets he’s always confident and goofy. I watched him grow up alongside Ariana and Sage and Siren as well. All of them still close, loving each other like siblings. And that, to me, is amazing.
“Rin, do us all a favor and shut up,” Sage grumbled.
He looked a little offended by the action, but not long enough for anyone to care.
Ariana was too busy giggling and nervously clutching at Len’s arm as if someone was going to steal him away.
Before too long, everyone was joining in the conversation, allowing for Ariana to slip away and introduce her boyfriend to everyone. I could hear Marielle going crazy over the two of them, as well as Henrietta who had to give the two a little speech in the process. Akatsuki said hello for a quick second before sliding out of the way since everyone here was already backing her into a corner.
I was surprised when Shiroe was nowhere to be found. I expected for him to be the first one to say hello to the kid.
It wasn’t until everyone had went into the kitchen to grab some food that I saw the man emerge from the hallway. He smiled over at me, donning a new button up shirt that was a lot nicer than the T-Shirt he had on a second ago. I lifted an eyebrow, opening my mouth to ask him where he’d been.
“I heard Hiro waking up, so I went to feed him really fast. He’s calm for now.”
He placed the baby monitor on the coffee table, leaning over to brush a stray hair back from away from my face.
“And the shirt?”
“Oh,” He chuckled, “He may or may not have spit up on my shirt.”
I chuckled softly.
“I figured that was the reason. But you look very nice, baby.”
I leaned up to kiss his cheek softly.
“Where’s everyone?”
“They’re getting food. Ariana has someone she wants you to meet, by the way.”
Shiroe let out a sigh, whispering a hushed ‘oh boy’ under his breath. I giggled softly, taking him by the hand and leading him into the kitchen.
Everyone was already grabbing plates and getting food. Ariana looked a lot more relaxed with Siren and a few of her friends, eyes lighting up when I walked into the room. “Mom, do you think Siren and I could go over to Celeste’s house tonight?” She asked.
“I don’t see why not. You guys have to help me clean up before you leave, though.”
“Of course! Thanks Mom!”
She leaned in to hug me, looking up at Shiroe.
“I heard there’s someone you want to introduce me to?”
Well, he wasted no time with that one did he?
Ariana nodded vigorously, biting her bottom lip. I patted Shiroe’s shoulder, listening to his soft chuckle. That was all just to tease her and nothing more. I knew that almost immediately.
Sage and the boys were already trying to recruit Len over in the corner, talking about who knows what at the moment. Leave it to Sage to immediately make the boy feel better, even if he would deny it later. He cares more than people realize, especially when it comes to his sister.
While Ariana went to grab him from them, Marielle had bounced her way back over to us. She shoved a plate of food in my face, telling me to eat it. “I knew that you weren’t going to grab a plate on your own. You’re too busy worrying about everyone else,” She said with a wink. I nodded, laughing nervously from everyone’s heavy eye contact.
They worry about me way too much. But I’m thankful for that.
“It’s a great party, Ashie. You did a great job!” She said, squeezing my neck.
“Awh, thank you, Marielle. I just want the best for my babies.”
“And they’re lucky to have you! They’re such great kids!”
She couldn’t have been more right about that. My kids were great. I couldn’t express that enough. Today was such a special day, and there were plenty of times that I felt like crying. I knew that once we had the cake I probably would cry. Ariana made me promise I wouldn’t, but it’s so hard not to. I’ve watched them grow right in front of me from the little babies they were.
It felt like yesterday they were so small. Now, we had baby Hiro with us, and it all felt so perfect. Shiroe looked so well put together today, but I knew on the inside he felt the same. I wasn’t sure how much longer he’d go before he lost it all too. The kids were his whole world, and I knew that he was going to lose it once they went to college in a few years.
That I didn’t even want to think about.
Not yet. I wasn’t ready.
“They’re not babies anymore,” Henrietta mumbled, which only made me feel even more emotional.
“Yeah, I’m aware of that, Henrietta. Thanks.”
“I’m sorry. I’m sure the two of you are just losing your minds about the whole thing. I mean, Ariana has a boyfriend. Where has the time gone?”
I opened my mouth to say something, but Shiroe’s face spoke for itself.
Everyone laughed nervously, seeing him try his best to hide it. But he was too easy to fool us. When he’s feeling some kind of way like that, you can see it all on his face. I patted his shoulder a bit, squeezing his arm for reassurance. We were both nervous for our kids, just as much as any parent would at this age. It’s the age where they start doing more things independently. They’re almost adults, not too long before they move on to do great things with their lives. I was proud of them, definitely. There was no doubt about that.
Ariana made her way back over to us just in time, smiling and laughing with that same beautiful smile. “Hey guys, this is Len. Dad,” She said with emphasis on it, then the look that came next made me laugh. The same look I give him in almost every instance. Telling him not to do what he does best.
“It’s… It’s nice to finally meet you, Mr-”
“Just call me Shiroe. It’s nice to meet you too.”
He reached to shake his hand, and immediately Ariana and I both let out the breaths we had been holding in. That went a little better than I expected. I smiled warmly up at him, squeezing his arm again.
“Have you had anything to eat yet, hon?” I asked.
“No ma’am. I was just- uh.”
“We were just going to get something. My mom’s cooking is the best, you’ll love it.”
I gave her a wink.
“Now, now, don’t kiss up too much. It is your birthday.”
She giggled, motioning for Len to follow as they wandered off to get some food.
Everyone turned to look at Shiroe all at once, all having the same thought in mind. Naotsugu has found his way over to us with a beer in his hand, Sayeko falling behind with her arm wrapped around his own. I would have made a comment about the beer, but I was more focused on the interaction that had just happened.
“Well, that went well!” I said, with a laugh.
“Yeah,” Marielle chimed in, “I really expected you to be a little… uh…”
“What? More awkward?”
Marielle and I laughed, watching Shiroe narrow his eyes.
“He seemed like a really sweet kid. I’m happy for Ari.”
“Yeah, but, I mean. Shiroe, we gonna have a talk with him later or what?”
All of us woman rolled our eyes in unison, as if to say that we saw this coming. It was only a matter of time.
Shiroe pursed his lips, not saying anything as he took a quick swig of his drink.
“You guys better not ruin this for Ariana,” I mumbled.
“What? I wouldn’t dream of doing that! I want to see my princess happy.”
“Yeah, but the kid’s gotta know what happens if he doesn’t listen.”
All the girls groaned again, and decided this was the end of the conversation. I knew that Shiroe and Natosugu were both protective over Ariana, and I wanted to halt this just in time to finish eating. We still had to have cake and open the presents that they have yet to do.
With all of the introductions out of the way, we were able to finally have a full blown party. Ariana and her friends were all off on their own, same for Sage and his friends. They weren’t interested in being around each other until it was time to cut the cake. I tried my best to shuffle around the large crowd, but after doing this for seventeen years I grew used to it. I had the baby monitor attached to my hip to make sure that Hiro didn’t wake up, while making sure everything was situated and ready to go.
Ariana and Sage blew out their candles, enjoying the cake finally all together. This allowed for the adults to wander around in the kitchen while they had fun in the main area of the house. The party lasted for a while, until Sage and Rin were ready to go out for the night. I already knew that they had plans to go to a party at another team member’s house, and I had him promise me that they would be good.
He came to give me a kiss on the cheek goodbye, hugging my shoulders.
“Thanks Mom,” He said, “The party was awesome.”
He was smiling, and I could tell that he really did have fun. It’s always nice when I see Sage’s genuine smile.
“You’re welcome, baby. Did you guys pick up after your friends?”
“Yup. All cleaned up and ready to go,” Rin said, also giving me a quick hug.
“You boys don’t have too much fun now!” I shouted after them, chuckling softly.
The party was definitely a hit. I was happy that the twins both equally had a lot of fun. Len ended up enjoying himself too, which definitely made me happy. I wanted him to feel right at home, not having to worry about being nervous. As far as I’m concerned, he’s just as welcome as everyone else is. No one else would disagree. In my house, I never want anyone to feel left out.
Shiroe and the rest of my friends helped pick up as well, but with all those hands we were done fairly quickly. And since Ariana was leaving to go to a friends too, that mean we would be alone in only a couple more minutes. After the long day, a little rest was all I wanted.
Celeste and Siren left to give Ariana some time to herself with Len, saying goodbye and allowing us to have a little chat with the two of them.
“We’ll see you guys later,” Naotsugu said as I was coming back into the living room.
He flashed a smile in my direction, hugging Ariana goodbye.
“It was really nice meeting you, Len. Happy birthday, Ariana,” Sayeko said.
“Yeah, same. Just.. between you and me.”
Naotsugu threw an arm around Len’s shoulders, causing the boy to jump and yelp a bit. I slumped my shoulders, knowing it was only a matter of time for this to happen.
“If you hurt my niece, there’ll be hell to pay. But you seem like a good kid, right?”
“Y-Y-Yes Mister Naotsugu.”
“Good boy.”
He patted his shoulder, finally letting go of the poor thing.
He winked to Shiroe who was lurking in the shadows, and I could just feel the silent conversation between the two of them.
Rolling my eyes, I let Ariana walk him out along with Sayeko and Naotsugu. Then, it was just Shiroe and I left. After that long day, finally having a quiet house to ourselves seemed strange. I was definitely exhaughsted, but I was happy and thrilled that everyone had a great time. That’s the one thing that makes me feel content is knowing that my friends had a great time at my parties.
Shiroe wandered over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind. He kissed my cheek, nuzzling his nose into my neck with a soft sigh.
“Today was great, sweetheart. The twins seemed to have a really great time,” He said.
“I know… I couldn’t be happier. I can’t believe they’re both seventeen.”
Now, it was my time to tear up. I felt all my emotions hitting me at once. My babies were all grown up now. They were another year older, and I felt my chest growing heavier at the thought. Shiroe let out a soft sigh, pulling me closer against his chest.
“Me neither. They’re really growing up,” He spoke, softly.
I leaned against him, feeling my eyes starting to water.
“Baby, you’re the best mom that the twins and I could ask for.”
I pursed my lips, trying hard not to cry. He was making it really difficult for me with how sweet he was talking to me.
He kept going too.
“I’m lucky to have you as my wife. Thank you for all of this. The family that you’ve given me…”
“Shiroe, baby, stop. You’re going to make me cry.”
“But it’s the truth… I love you so much. The twins love you.”
I squeezed him back, spinning around to hide my face in his chest.
Shiroe chuckled soflty, running a hand lazily through my hair. I could barely speak for fear that I’d start sobbing right then and there. Tonight was the best night for them and for me. I was happier than words could ever express. I felt lucky to have all of them in my life.
The kids were the biggest blessings in our lives. I never expected for us to be this happy, but I was thrilled. Every passing day is better than the last. And every day I’m thankful and excited for the next. My family was more than the best. It was amazing.

Hello, I was told by reckless-space that you had three robot triplets for Huey, Boyd, and Violet and some Honker fankids as well, but I cannot find any of them on this blog. Could you please tell me more about them?
Hello, anon. I had a feeling someone might come my way when I got pinged in that post. The OCs you're asking about are fairly new, and I haven't really talked about them much outside of the DuckTales RP Discord server @reckless-space owns (they have a link in the pinned post of their blog, if anyone's interested).
Honker's kids were already on the proverbial drawing board before I joined Charlie's server, but it was on there that I completed them. Their mother is a bluebird Honker met in college, and their "Aunt Gosalyn" volunteered as a surrogate layer, since neither of their parents can lay eggs.
Christine Muddlefoot, or Chrissy to most, is the first of their two kids. She's about 14 in the "next gen timeline" we collectively have on the server. She has excellent grades and an interest in marine life, and she's in chess club. She is also, however, something of a troublemaker and has been known to use her intellect cause problems on purpose. She's inherited some of her father's allergies to a lesser degree and has been conditioned out of most of them by modern medical practices. Chrissy learned piano from her dad and picked up the guitar on her own.
And then the second of the two kids is Herbert Tankard Muddlefoot III, best known as Herbie, who is 10 in "next gent time". While also intelligent in his own right, Herbie is mainly interested in hockey, which he picked up from Aunt Gosalyn, whose classes he attends. While a little prone to cause trouble himself, he's far less likely than his older sister, mainly because he's picked up his father's kindness and desire to be helpful. He has Dad's eyesight and wears glasses normally, with a special prescription eye guard built into his hockey helmet in their place. He's not as into learning science as his father would (not so) secretly like, and he thinks Quiverwing Quack (whom he doesn't even know yet is his aunt) is cooler than Darkwing Duck ever was, to Honorary Grandpa Drake's entirely unhidden disappointment. Herbie enjoys playing video games with Chrissy, stubbornly conditioned himself to like spicy food (no one realizes he did this but Chrissy), and has a certain talent for music. He learned piano from Dad and picked up the trumpet on his own, developing a taste for jazz. Herbie's written the music for some of Kane's band's original songs (Kane is Charlie's LouiexOC fan kid; read about her on their blog), which are technically rock songs, but the music tends to have a hint of jazz, because Herbie wrote it. Herbie tends to be physically affectionate with friends and family, a trait he notably shares with Bailey, Kane's younger sister (Bailey created by @yourmusicmuse; check Muse's blog for more Bailey lore).
The Duck-Drake-Sabrewing triplets came to be after I had already settled into the server. They were created using salvaged schematics for Boyd, and partially out of salvaged leftover parts from Boyd's older/"younger" bodies, and were mentally programmed using brainwaves scanned from all three parents collectively. They were built at the physical/mental/emotional age of 8, and they're currently 12 as of "next gen time".
Dorothy Drake, occasionally nicknamed Dotty affectionately by family, was named by Papa (Boyd) after the protagonist of The Wizard of Oz. She is the oldest triplet, having completed her initial activation sequence 12 minutes ahead of the others. She's inherited Papa's outgoing friendliness and Dad's (Huey's) big-sibling-ness. She also inherited Dad's need to feel in control of the situation and tendency to stress when things get out of hand. Dorothy has been known to retreat into alone space with a book when things get too much for her. Do NOT mess with her younger siblings in front of her, though, or you will regret it.
Izzy Duck is the middle triplet. Initially named Isabella by Dad after Isabella Finch, they now go exclusively by Izzy after having, in their own words, "uninstalled [their] gender". Despite being Huey's child, they seemed to have inherited more from Uncle Dewey, including recklessness and need for attention, along with Uncle Louie's craftiness, which makes them quite the handful. They're quite friendly but tend to be blunt with little grasp on tact.
Theodore Sabrewing, known to most as Theo and to his family occasionally as Teddy, is the youngest triplet by 21 minutes. He's mostly quiet and studious like Mama, but he has a more outgoing friendly demeanor like his fathers (more in line with Dad's) once he warms up to someone. Theo loves learning new things and sharing what he's learned with anyone willing to listen. He's not particularly brave, which can make his older siblings a tad protective of him. But he cares deeply about the people in his life and is driven by a want to show his support. Theo also likes woodcarving and has made at least one little wooden model each of all of his relatives.
If you wanna learn more about these kids' family, Charlie has a post linking to other OC owners here. And again, they have the Discord server link in their pinned post.

Sage is Sick
Summary: It’s the twin’s fourteenth birthday, and the worst thing that could happen is someone’s sick. Sage wakes up with a terrible fever and cold, which means no big celebration. But the family has a perfect way of making the day a bit better for him.
W: self-insert, fankids
I was a little worried when Sage didn’t come to get his breakfast. I had spent a majority of my morning making a special breakfast for the twins since today was their birthday. They were fourteen, and I couldn’t believe it. I was probably more excited than they were, which was noticeable by my smile. The second I woke up I was getting ready, making the kids a nice lunch with some little cute notes and working on the best breakfast. That way when they woke up it was from the start a very good day.
Ariana came out dressed before Sage which was strange. He’s usually already bustling in before everyone else, not really taking a whole lot to get ready like Ariana. His sister is always running behind because she’s taking her time getting up, picking out an outfit and trudging inside. Sage is just concerned about food. That’s the only thing on his mind.
“Good morning, Momma,” Ariana said, softly.
She leaned against me, wrapping her arm around my waist and squeezing.
“Good morning, baby girl. Did you sleep okay?”
I kissed the top of her head, ruffling her hair.
Her eyes widened when she saw the delicious breakfast at the table, plopping down into her chair and wasting no time to start devouring. I chuckled, setting down her glass of orange juice that I knew that she would want. “Happy birthday, sweetie,” I said, just in time for Shiroe to come in as well. He was fully dressed, no doubt ready to leave for the day. But he wasn’t going to leave without saying goodbye.
“Morning, Dad,” Ariana mumbled while continuing to stuff her face.
I laughed, rolling my eyes and reminding her not to talk with her mouth full.
“Good morning princess,” Shiroe said, giving her nose a poke, “Someone’s fourteen today.”
“Two someone’s. I made breakfast and Sage isn’t even up yet.”
“He’s not? That’s weird. He’s usually the first one up to grab a plate before Ariana.”
I nodded in agreement, watching the crease between Shiroe’s brow form. He was just as confused as I was. This made me a tad bit worried now that even he hadn’t seen Sage up yet. He wasn’t in the bathroom getting ready, which meant he had to still be in his room. That was a tad bit worrisome for me. Shiroe seemed to read my mind, glancing over his shoulder.
“Should I go check on him?” He asked.
“No, baby. I’ve got it. You should get ready, you’re gonna be late.”
“Okay, well… tell him I said happy birthday and have a good day. I’ll see you guys later.”
I smiled, leaning up to give him a quick kiss.
Which turned into two, and Ariana was too much into her meal to care. She mumbled a quick goodbye to Shiroe, not even looking up when he kissed her forehead goodbye. “Have a good day, princess. Be good for your mom, okay?” The girl laughed, wiping her mouth and swigging her glass of juice.
“Aren’t I always?”
Shiroe laughed, ruffling her hair, “Of course.”
I whispered goodbye to him, kissing him a few more times as he left.
Then, I was off down the hallway to check on Sage. I was half expecting to open the door and see him at his desk working on last night’s homework. That’s usually what happens when he’s late getting ready, and that always makes me sigh heavily. He has a tough time working out schedules, which Shiroe tries to help him be a bit more organized. But Sage got my procrastination. Unlike his sister who is always on time like her father.
Giving the door to his room a gentle knock, I called out to him to let him know I was coming in. After a couple of seconds, I slowly opened the door to his room and noticed that all the lights were still off. I peaked inside, noticing little movements from underneath his dark colored covers. “Sage, baby, are you awake?” I asked, softly.
There was a few moments of silence before I heard his soft little groan. It sounded like a usual Sage groan when he didn’t want to get up, but as I listened to it more I started to realize that it was different. I just knew. A mother just knows. Pushing open the door, I slipped inside and watched his blanket move a tiny bit. Now I could see the tuft of his dark hair and then his eyes that were opened slightly. Even through the darkness I could see how pale he was.
There was no faking that.
“Awh, Sagey, what’s wrong?” I asked.
“S-sorry, Momma… I’m… uh…”
He could barely even finish his sentence. From the tone of his voice I could tell that he had a sore through, the sound of it scratchy and rough. I smiled gingerly, reaching forward to feel his forehead. He was incredibly hot, quite obvious that he was running a fever. I didn’t have to touch him long to notice that, and he was shuddering underneath he covers.
Sage was sick.
Really sick from the looks of it.
There was a cold going around at school, and Ariana was lucky enough not to catch it. Although, I had gotten sick not too long ago. He either could have gotten it from me, or just got it from one of the kids at school. Either way, I could tell immediately that he was feeling awful. I felt bad. The same feeling I get any time either of my kids are sick. Sage hardly ever calls to me like this unless he’s just feeling terrible.
Leaning down beside him on the bed, I shifted hair away from his face. He coughed, wincing a bit from how uncomfortable it was on his throat. “You have a sore throat, baby?” I asked, watching him nod. Pursing my lips, I touching his cheek and rubbed my thumb against him softly. Poor thing. It sucks to be sick, but it sucks even more to be sick on his birthday.
“Alright, sweetie, get some rest. I’m going to get some medicine for you to take, and then you can go back to bed. Are you hungry?”
“Not… not… really.”
“Okay, well, you can eat some soup when you wake up. I’ll be right back with the medicine.”
Sage nodded, pulling the covers back over himself and closing his eyes.
When I shut the door to his bedroom, I immediately picked up my phone to send Shiroe a quick text. Letting him know that I was going to be taking care of a sick Sage, so that way he didn’t worry too much. Even though Shiroe would worry either way. I knew immediately that our plans for the day were going to change, and I hoped that Ariana would understand. There’s always tomorrow if Sage feels better. I just didn’t want him to feel left out.
He just needed to focus on getting better.
I walked into the kitchen just as Ariana was cleaning off her plate, humming softly under her breath.
“Thanks Ari,” I said, “Your brother is sick, so he’s going to be staying home today. I’m sorry, but we’re probably going to take it easy today.”
“Sage is sick? That sucks! Are you sure he’s not just faking it?”
I shook my head, cracking a smirk at her little face she made. That would be something Sage would do to get out of going to school, but he wouldn’t fake it this bad. It was impossible to fake that.
“Do I still have to go to school?” Ariana asked.
“I though you said you had a test today?”
“I mean, I do-”
I quirked an eyebrow, “So you’ll miss a test?”
She blinked a few times, before her shoulders slumped and she shook her head.
This caused me to chuckle, bumping my hip into hers just a little bit and grinning. That was my daughter. She wouldn’t miss a test, and honestly she is pretty particular about not missing school. She actually liked going to school and learning and things of that nature. Besides, she also likes seeing Siren.
Speaking of which…
“Ariana, are you and Siren still riding your bikes to school?” I asked.
She nodded, slinging her backpack over her shoulder and readjusting her hair.
“Yeah, she’s actually about to be here. Don’t want to be late!”
Ariana kissed my cheek, pulling out her phone to send a quick text to Siren.
While she was in her own little world I kissed her head and wished her a good day at school. The minute her phone went up she was completely entranced, giggling at something Siren had said. I breathed a sigh, brushing her hair behind her ear and lifting her chin to look at me.
“Have a good day, okay? I’ll see you after school. Come straight home, and please, be safe.”
“Yes ma’am, I promise.”
Smiling wider, I watched her bound down the hallway and slip on her shoes. She waved goodbye and vanished out the door, breaking out into a run to catch up with her friend. We were lucky enough to be pretty close to their school, allowing for her and Siren to ride their bikes there. She always made sure to text me when she left and arrived every day, calling if anything happened. I still remember the day she had forgotten to tell me she left and she was balling her eyes out when she got home.
Such a sweetheart.
I couldn’t believe the two of them were already fourteen. It seemed like just yesterday they were babies, rolling around and giggling at random things. I smiled gently at the memory, feeling a soft rubbing against my leg. I glanced down to see Luna’s eyes staring up at me, her body rubbing against my leg to let me know she was there.
“Well, good morning to you too, Luna-cutie. I’ve got to get this medicine to Sage, and then I’ll give you some attention.”
She didn’t seem happy with that, continuing to run through my legs as I walked into the kitchen.
Shiroe has gotten her used to constant affection, and she knows that he treats her like an absolute princess. It makes me chuckle constantly, and always reminds me of the day that he brought her home. It was such a surprise to me that I can’t help but giggle. Those days when it was merely just us in a house all to ourselves.
I reached into the cabinet, grabbing for the medicine and a glass of water just in case he needed it.
Whenever I made it back into the bedroom, Sage was still covered with his blankets and hadn’t seemed to move. I patted the side of the bed to let him know I was back, and he slowly rolled over to face me. “You have to sit up baby, that way I can give you it,” I said, soothingly.
Sage slowly pulled himself up from the bed, pouting a little bit about having to sit up. I chuckled softly, shifting that same hair in the middle of his face away. He took the medicine fairly well, sipping on the glass of water to help wash it down. Since it was the liquid kind, he made a little bit of a face as it went down. Exactly how I am.
“There you go, that wasn’t so bad,” I said, gently pushing him back to lie down and tucking him in, “Now, get some sleep. I’ll be in the living room in case you need me.”
I smiled, kissing his warm forehead with care.
“Thanks, Momma.”
“You’re welcome, baby.”
Almost immediately he fell asleep, the medicine working pretty fast. I left him alone to sleep, receiving a text from Shiroe the second I sat down on the couch. Luna curled into my lap, purring softly as I read the words on my phone screen.
‘That’s too bad. Hopefully it’s just a twenty-four hour thing. Tell him I love him.’
I smiled, quickly typing back a response.
‘I will, baby. Have a good day at work. I love you.’
My hand gently ran down Luna’s back, scrolling through my messages with a sigh. Today was going to be a day of care for Sage, and that was honestly the only thing on my mind. I tried to get some work done, but my mind wasn’t in the right headspace for it. I wanted to do something for the twins today, but there wasn’t so much I could do given that Sage was stuck in bed.
That’s whenever I got the idea to do what we do best as a family. Watching movies on the couch! If Sage was feeling up for it, we could let the twins watch whatever they wanted. Within reason, of course. Hopefully, if Sage gets better in the next day or so, we could do something bigger for them. Have a party with their friends and ours.
Throughout the day I received several texts and phone calls from friends wishing the twins a happy birthday. Our group chat was flooding with texts and emoji’s and pictures and all kinds of things. Once I told them Sage was sick, everyone was going crazy with wishes and hopes for him to get better. I smiled, loving the care that my friends had for the twins. They were like family to them. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
“Momma?”
I lifted my head to see Sage standing in the archway, his eyebrows furrowed.
“Yes baby? Are you okay?”
He nodded, shifting from foot to foot for a couple of seconds.
He avoided my eyes and slowly inched forward, and I could see that he wasn’t wanting to tell me right away.
“I… I don’t want to be alone,” He said, the best way the he could with his voice as hoarse as it was.
I smiled.
“Awh… Sage, baby, come here.”
He quickly rushed over to the couch, sitting down beside me.
I should have known that he was lonely. Whenever either of the twins are sick they never want to be alone. They want all the cuddles and affection that they could have given that they were feeling ill. Sage is no different, even though now he’s more embarrassed to admit it. But luckily I know him better than anyone. I know when he needs it, and how to approach it.
Patting my lap, I let him lay his head down and curl up with the blanket that rested over the couch. My hand shifted through his hair, tucking him in once again. He could barely look at the TV ahead of us, his eyes slowly drooping yet again. He radiated so much heat, and I couldn’t help but feel sad that there wasn’t much more I could do. The medicine was helping, yes, but it would be a bit before he felt completely better.
“I’m sorry, Sagey. I know this is a pretty sucky birthday,” I said, softly.
“It’s… okay…”
Parting his bangs, I leaned down to pepper kisses along his hairline. The boy finally shut his eyes again, focusing on my soft treatment of fingers against his scalp. When he and Ari were babies, this was the perfect way to help them fall asleep. It’s even the same way now, although Sage only lets me do it one in a while. Where Ariana wants it all the time.
“If you’re feeling better later, we’ll watch a movie. How does that sound?” I asked.
“Good.”
“Good,” I repeated, smiling gingerly.
Luna curled up at the end of the couch near Sage’s feet, cleaning herself and keeping him company too. The three of us stayed on that couch, Sage staying asleep for quite a majority of the day. Which I expected him too. He only woke up once right before Ariana came home to eat a bowl of soup. His fever had gone down, and his throat was a bit better. But nothing was completely gone.
He stayed in my lap the whole time, not wanting to leave my side. He wouldn’t let me get up, and it only reminded me of when he was younger. It didn’t bother me at all, though. I wanted to stay with him and help alleviate whatever I could.
The same went for Ariana whenever she came home. For once she wasn’t teasing him or messing with him. Instead she was extremely helpful, wanting to get anything that he needed and not being too loud. The fact that she would do this on her birthday too was why I loved her. Shiroe and I definitely raised two good kids. And are continuing to raise these same two kids.
I made sure to tell them how proud we were of them when Shiroe came home. I never wanted them to forget that.
“I’m sorry you’re feeling bad, Sage,” Shiroe said, softly.
By this time, Sage was feeling much better, a little sore throat still but he was able to sit up and looked less pale. He also joked with Ariana a tad bit, telling her how he was a little bit older because he was born first. Which only made Shiroe and I laugh. The four of us watched a couple movies as a family to celebrate the twins birthday. The one way that we could, given the circumstances. And we promised a bigger party later.
But they were content this way.
I could tell with how happy they were, especially Ariana.
How she laughed and grinned and got up when Sage needed more medicine.
She was a good sister. They were both good kids. And I couldn’t wait to watch them grow into amazing adults.
