#i bought the jc leyendecker book i've been wanting since high school and i was flipping through it#and there is a section dedicated to dunking on norman rockwell#idk what his deal is other than being the “great american” illustrator but it was just so funny to me#like is there real hostility the writer's felt while writing or did they just write about him objectively and he is just that obnoxious--#they straight up said he's not as attractive or stylish as leyendecker#what is this personal vendetta and slander--#pleasantly surprised tho i did not know leyendecker was gay#and that the 'ideal american man" he had in his illustrations was modeled after his partner ;-;#gay pining prevails frfr
