2.1 PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS

Productivity tools can be a freeware or shareware., A freeware is copyrighted, which can be used for free and for an unlimited time while shareware is commercial software that is copyrighted, which can be copied for trial but needs to be purchased for continued use.

One of the most popular productivity suites is the Microsoft Office developed by Microsoft. This includes word processing software, electronic spreadsheet, and presentation software, not all Microsoft applications includes Access and Publisher. You can tell the some version of office contains a desktop publishing program. These tools will help you create, organize and present information to an audience for a more effective communication.

Reports, nowadays demand to be well-presented and dynamic. Away from the usual ways of [resenting information. A lot of presentation software are available whether online or offline. Similarly, financial reports are calculated and tabulated using electronic spreadsheets because of the automatic formulas and functions available. These programs are also made available to mobile devices which are also downloadable from the web

It is activated by clicking on the linked element usually underlined and of different color.

Microsoft word create a hyperlink when you type the address of an existing web page, such as www.google.com, if the automatic formatting of hyperlinks has not been turned off.

You can create a hyperlink to a new or existing document or web page, an email address, a specific location to another document or web page, a location in the current document, and to another file or program.

Creating a Hyperlink to an Existing Document

Suppose you are to link a part of your

document to an existing document.

Quick Lab 2.1

Click your mouse on the location in the document where you want to insert the hyperlink.

On the Insert Tab, click the Hyperlink button on the Links group .

On the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, click Existing File or Web Page and then select the File name where the source file is located and then hyperlink will be created on your document.

Press Ctrl+ click on the Hyperlink to open the linked files.

2.3 MAIL MERGE

Mail Merge is useful tool that allows you to quickly produce and send information newsletter, resumes, or brochures o many people.

Creating a Mail Merge

In creating a mail merge, you need a data source that contains the basic information to be merged into your document. A data source may contain name, address,

telephone, and other information you want to include. A data source must be created first to be able to use Mail Merge for mass mailing.

Here are the following steps:

Open the word document that you want to Mail Merge.

On the Ribbon, click the mailing tab, go to the Start mail Merge group and click Start Mail Merge and select Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard.

The Task Pane will show the Mail Merge Steps 1 to 6.

1. Choose from the options such as Letters, E-mail messages Envelop, Labels, or Directory.

Step 2: Select starting document.

1. Choose from the options such as Use the current document. Start from a template or Start from existing document.

1. If you have not created yet a recipient lists, choose the Type a new list and click Create, and the New Address List dialog box will appear where you can type in the names and date of your recipients.

2. Click New Entry to add additional names and after typing, click Cancel to close the dialog box

3. After you have entered your list, the Save Address List dialog box will open.

4. Type your file name and click Save

Step 4: Write your letter

1. Click the Address block to specify the Address elements

2. Click the Greeting line to set the greeting line to set the greeting line format

3. Click Next

Step 5: Preview your letters.

1. The names, address, and greeting line will show in the document.

2. You can click the Forward and Back arrows to view other recipients in the list.

3. You can also edit Edit recipient list.

Step 6: Complete the merge.

1. To print, Select Print

2. If you want to make adjustments on individual recipients, select Edit Individuals Letters.

2.4 : ADVANCED TECHNIQUES USING MICROSOFT POWERPOINT: ANIMATIONS AND HYPERLINKS

Slide animation is a moving computer graphic effect that can be added to the text, object, or the entire slide itself.

Quick lab 2-3

1. Click the Animations tab and go to Advanced Animation group.

2. Select the animation from the list of options grouped as Entrance, Emphasis, and Exit.

3. You can add animation to any element in the slide------ you could select a title, bulleted list, or graphic. Click the Add Animation drop—down button to preview the effects.

4. As you click one effect, a menu appears with a list of effect categories. Entrance effects animate the element as it enters the slide. Emphasis effects make the element to do something after it enters the slide. Exit effects animate the element as it leaves the slide. Motion paths allow you to specify specific paths on how the element will be animated in the slide.

5.The Animation Pane will show the details about the effect.

6. Use the Start field to select an event which will trigger the animation.

Adding a Slide Transition

Slide transitions control how your presentation moves from slide to slide.

Quick lab 2-4

1. Use the Transitions tab to select the slide transition you want to apply in your slides.

2. You can preview the animation by selecting one transition. It will be automatically applied to the slide. Select Apply to all to apply the same transition to all your slides in the presentation.

3. Slide transition can be customized by editing in the Duration option. You can enter the speed you prefer the transition to play.

Adding Hyperlinks within the Document

Hyperlinks allows you to go to other slides in the same presentation or in another presentation or in a web page and even to email addresses.

Quick Lab 2-5

1. Click the text where you want to create a hyperlink.

2. Click the Insert tab, go to the Links group, and click the Hyperlink button.

3. On the hyperlink dialog box, select Place in This Document.

4. Select the page where you want to go when the text with hyperlink is clicked.

5. Clicked OK.

Adding Action Button

Action button allows you to play sounds, animate, or run a program. It allows you to move from one slide to another without using the usual next button in a slide show.

Quick Lab 2-6

1. On the Insert tab, click Shapes arrow and on the list, select the icon from the Action Buttons Category.

2. Select the Action Button: Home icon and click it on the slide.

3. When the Action Settings dialog box appears, click Hyperlink to and set it to the slide you want the action to move.

2.5 : ADVANCED TECHNIQUES USING MICROSOFT EXCEL: FORMULAS AND FUNCTIONS

Microsoft Excel uses Formulas to calculate values. The equal sign typed in the cell signifies that a formula is created or the Auto sum function is used to builds a Formula.

An excel formula always begins with an equal (=) sign.

1. Enter the details below or open the exercise file, Click on cell C11, type =C3+C4+C5+C6+C7+C8+C9+C10, then press the Enter key.

2. The result will show after pressing enter key.

3. Another way you can do, especially when adding on a long worksheet, on cell C11 type the equal (=) sign, click the mouse on C3 and drag it up to C10 then press the Enter key.

Most of these are the same as an officially-released album track, so I will only be uploading unique ones at the time of upload. This may still include version-specific OSTs which appear in version trailers but are only a segment of it. That being said, I’ve also noticed that a lot of them do sound a little different from the final releases - either an unfinished or modified version (I wouldn’t be surprised if they compress it a specific way for their preview pages).

I am starting this in the middle of version 3.6 - from here on out I will be uploading the tracks as soon as the web event appears (if it’s not on an existing album), so there may be duplicates in the future since there is usually a lot of time between album releases and when we actually first get to hear the song. For anything older that has already had its track released, I will simply link to the official track. A lot of this is just based on my own familiarity with Genshin’s OST, so do let me know if something needs to be corrected!
