What a day! I wanted to just try dipping into a competitive environment for a trading card game (for Play Design research, of course 😅), so I traveled like many others for a few hours to meet at the venue -which changed as of yesterday when Denmark's #yugiohwcq broke a record number of players and had to be moved to a nearby school for 116 competitors. My deck was made from bits and pieces of old (affordable) deck cores combined -unconventional, but I managed to win three of my seven matches against Danish (and a few German) duellists -three times more than I expected! The players were nice and I learned a few things about gaming communities and organizing competitions along the way.
