I have always heard of this underground surf world of Nicaragua but I've never gotten a chance to visit it. I was beyond excited when my dad told me we were spending the weekend here. No computer, no wifi, no cellphone. Just my little camera with a scratched lens and I. We stayed in Guasacate. I had the intentions of trying to get some surf lessons while i was here and I tried to contact this really nice lady named Jenna who I found on instagram who lives there, to give me some info on surf lessons. But with no wifi, I wasn't able to make it happen. We exchanged emails but to no avail. Needless to say, I'm definitely going to link her next time I'm here to visit my dad and get my surf on with her! The nights were dark so dark you could practically see the nebulas that were around them. They looked like fog in the sky. The Moon didn't come out til the wee hours of the morning, something i'm not used to seeing in Miami. The waves were some of the biggest I've ever seen. They crashed so violently along the break that it was scary and beautiful. We climbed along the mountain rocks of the coast at low tide to and the power of the ocean as it crashed against it is something wonderful to see.

I also saw a dolphin beach itself and witnessed the whole surf community come together to try and save the little guy. (mini vid of the rescue soon to come)

On the last day, we spend the afternoon drinking Tonas at Magnific Rock and watched the sunset over Playa Popoyo. I had a great time. Although its still very rural, much of the area is gaining rapid popularity and it seems like thats getting a lot of mixed reviews. After talking to some people visiting they said the surf spot was getting to way crowded to catch waves. Even my dad noticed the rapid development of homes in the rural beach area. Time will only tell how much longer this spot will remain a secret, but one thing for I know for sure is that I will definitely be coming back :)
