imagine being kazuha's geo bearing older sibling.

kaedehara kazuha is, for the most part, a gentle gale. fleeting, transient, evanescent.

kaedehara [name] is his polar opposite—they are the firm earth. lasting, enduring, permanent.

they were easily one of the raiden shogun's most vocal opposers during the vision hunt decree. how dare she treat her people with such lack of care? the people she should have loved? the people that she had once promised a dream to? where was all that love when she decided to cruelly rip her citizens' visions from them in spite of all the terrible effects such force had? where was all that love?

(even after the decree gets repealed, they would still be a little bitter. they're expected to forgive her, just like that? no. their forgiveness is a thing to be earned; hell, they may simply choose to never forgive her, and after all the pain she caused them and their brother? it would be justified. they do not care if she is an archon.)

"eternity is not complacency in a stasis-like state," they once told kazuha, "but rather, it is the endurance of a legacy for centuries to come. that is eternity."

they stayed back in inazuma, holding off the shogunate while kazuha ran away after tomo's death.

he cried when he had to part from them, but at their command, he ultimately did obey. as much as it hurt him to abandon them, not knowing if they'd somehow manage to escape on their own, he knew they would hate it if he refused to leave. so he did.

thankfully, the resistance took them in. they stayed with kokomi and gorou the majority of the time, helping them push back against the electro archon's tyranny.

kazuha definitely adores his older sibling!! he will literally never say a single bad thing about them to anyone. never. no slander will come from his lips.

when beidou first got to meet them, she was absolutely overjoyed; she can see where kazuha gets his attitude from! they also thanked her profusely for taking such good care of him when they could not. the two got on very well! kazuha was so happy to see some of his favorite people getting along <3

beidou loves them. genuinely.

she always encourages them to come on the alcor. there is always a place for them with her crew! sometimes they do take her up on her offer and they travel teyvat for a while. once their family affairs are settled, they'll start traveling full-time, occassionally returning to inazuma to visit their friends.

she also gets so excited when she knows they'll be on board—beidou likes exchanging stories with them and just... talking. she loves that.

someone had to teach kazuha how to play music on leaves, you know. it was definitely [name].

kazu and his sibling would compliment one another really well in battle. they'd be able to predict one another's next moves based on muscle twitches, changes in stance... it's like they can read each other's minds! they can't. they just know one another inside and out.

sometimes they'll cup their hands over his ears to protect him in situations where he cannot avoid a storm or similar thing that might hurt his ears. this gesture is greatly appreciated. kazuha does what he can to reciprocate that—if they're overwhelmed or overstimulated? his first priority is to get them somewhere calmer. they protect him in his moments of sensitivity, so it's only fair for him to do the same.

i like to think kazuha and his sibling sit and admire scenery together. maybe they point out shapes in the clouds. maybe they take note of interesting sounds they hear in the bushes. however the two spend their time admiring the world, it is always an enjoyable time.

i also think the two would play in the rain, as long as it isn't too heavy <3 dancing in the rain together, taking walks in the rain together... it'a comforting.

sometimes kazuha will lay his head on their lap as if he were some kind of cat, and he'll just fall asleep. a mid-afternoon nap on his older sibling.

on top of all of that, kazuha speaks his mind to his sibling, and he hopes they'll do the same. he wants them to always be honest about what they're thinking and how they're feeling.

he knows that, as the eldest, they may have had to carry heavy burdens all throughout his childhood, while he got the privilege of existing without a care in the world.

the heavy burdens will be no more.

he is old enough to help shoulder the weight, and help shoulder the weight he will.

A/N... i cannot write poetry to save my life, so kazuha's haiku came from google... unfortunately, i'm unable to find out who actually wrote it, please let me know if you have any idea!

"... so, as i was saying, i do believe it is quite necessary for your companion here to under-go judgement, traveller. you see-" "general mahamatra! there's someone here to see you" "alright, just give me one moment to finish talk-" "[name]'s here" "well, i believe i must take my leave, it was nice talking with you, traveller, paimon. remind me to tell you my joke next time, i'm sure you don't want to miss it"

"[name]? yeah, of course i know 'em! we go out for drinks time to time, they sometimes even come onboard the crux with me 'n the crew! uhuh, i've gotta admit, they do have some tricks up their sleeve... i mean, of course they do! how do you think they won me over otherwise, hm? *she laughs heartily* i guess you're right, they are pretty good lookin' aren't they..."

"hey, hey! traveller! paimon! have you seen [name]? we're playing hide 'n seek but i can't find them anywhereee... no, it's not cheating! i- i just need a hint, that's all! oh, you're right- we should be quiet so that they don't hear us... wait, is that them over there? quick, let's go! *proceeds to yell* WE'RE COMING FOR YOU [NAME]!!!"

Dreamer in Teyvat -Night 1- (7/?)

[Equipment: Backpack, bag, shield, 3 Sango pearls, 3 Onigiri, comfortable Inazuman clothes for traveling]

Thankfully you haven't woken up in your world yet, that means one day and night in Teyvat doesn’t equal one night in your world. But still, you can’t help but wonder how much time is left till you wake up.  Well you can just sit and think about it or do something… of course you choose to do something. Thankfully Miss Momoko let you sleep in her house for the night, she even prepared some Onigiri so you have something to eat later. She didn’t want your mora but you felt bad how much she did for you, so you left it in a place where she will be able to find it later. For today’s plan is to find Gorou and ask him to accompany you to Mouun Shrine. The first place to search for him was where other soldiers gather but you couldn’t spot him anywhere. You ask the first Samurai that you spot. -“Excuse me, do you know where I can find General Gorou?” The man looks surprised. -“General is now busy. If there is some problem I may help you.” -“Ah no, thank you! I just…um…a-anyway! Have a nice day!” and with that you run off.

It's really unlucky that Gorou is busy today. You’re not sure where he is and when he will have free time, so for now you decided to go to Mouun Shrine alone. You pass an old bridge and follow the road and pass another one.. You continue following the road till you reach the beach. You notice that for now you’ll walk on the sand, so you take off the sandals, holding them in hand. You pass through shallow water and then continue walking on sand.  You reach the small canyon, you take a look around it wondering if it's a good route to the Shrine.

You decide to continue through it. The sand here felt much colder. When you pass it you notice something. Katanas and some destroyed things were lying around. It looks like someone was fighting there. You only hope whoever won is not here anymore. You take one of the best looking katana. At least now you have something to protect yourself with. Even if you don’t know how to use it you still can stab someone or something with it. From here you can see the skeleton of the whale but before it on the right side there is another bridge. Passing through another shallow water that changes into a waterfall, you reach the bridge. The wooden bridge seems to be in worse condition than the one close to the village. You put on your sandals and step on it, testing if this holds your weight. It seems stable enough so slowly you go through it. When you approach the end you notice that some planks must fall off. You had to jump. You take some steps back and then run and jump. Your feet slipped and you quickly grabbed the planks, knee hitting hard into the wood. You hissed in pain but you got up and left the bridge. You sat down on the ground to check your knee. -”At least it’s not bleeding..” you sighed. Deciding to take a small break, you start to eat the onigiri that Miss Momoko prepared for you. It’s delicious. You notice there are some Berries so you take them for later. After resting for a bit you continue to follow the path. After some time, you see 3 Torii Gates.

Passing through them you see the ruins of the Shrine. Looking around you don’t see anything unusual. There are some loaches so you try to sneak on them and get some loach perls. After some time you managed to collect 5 loach perls, maybe you will be able to sell them later. Going around the shrine you search for anything. But then you hear something.

There was Abyss Mage, it seems it was searching for something. It didn’t notice you yet. Should you try to attack it with a Katana? It doesn't have a shield yet, but what if the Abyss Mage noticed you before you'll struck it? Should you just hide and wait till it will go away? Or maybe should you run back towards the village?

------ Yes, I didn't forgot about this series. Tbh I had a bit more time and motivation so I wrote the next part! But I can't promise I'll be back of writing other parts immediately after the voting is over ;; Also sorry for mistakes, the worst is when even I notice silly ones after posting it but I can't correct them because you can't change post if you added voting T_T

I'm super interested in your hc ideas gkjddfgkl (Don't feel bad if you wanna not write for some of the characters I just listed gjkfdkfjgljk I just went with six because each of your bitey posts also have six so I used it as a baseline jkfgjkdgjk) I hope you're having a good day/night!

Content: Gender neutral reader who bites as a sign of platonic affection. 

Arlecchino is used to being bitten. She works with children who will bite for a large myriad of reasons. She may not like it, but she understands it comes from a place of not being able to verbalise a certain emotion. At first she’ll be concerned that there’s something wrong, and will try to pinpoint what it is. Eventually, she’ll move on to being mildly annoyed, shooing you off, and then finally just settling for it and realising it’s just a way of you asking for attention. If she’s busy, she may brush you off and move away, but she’ll make a note to give you the affections that you’re pining for when she has a moment. If you have a particularly close relationship with her she’ll let it fly if she knows you’ve had a bit of a rough/long day.

Beidou finds it kind of funny, though she doesn’t entirely understand it. She’ll just laugh like you’ve told her some kind of hilarious joke, shaking her head and tutting her tongue as she pats you on the head and jokes that some kind of shark or something must’ve gotten on board while her back was turned. Though if you consistently do it, she may ask if you’ve gotten into the liquor (she’s got a few crew members who get a little… bitey, once they’ve had a few drinks), or kind of semi-awkwardly try to redirect you onto something (or someone) else. Eventually she just resigns to her fate though, and you get to nibble on her to your heart's content! She’ll just sort of phase it out after a while.

Hu Tao kind of adores it - she lives for non-traditional acts of affection and the like, so will almost immediately try to get you back. She’ll turn it up a notch and just CHOMP down on you, giggling all the while. She thinks it's a very silly and fun way of communicating affection, and it feels strangely natural to her, as do most ‘unorthodox’ ways of making people know how much she likes them. She’s fairly well known for doing things like this in her own unorthodox way, and once she knows you're open to it, you'll often find yourself on the receiving end of one of her rather 'quirky' ways of showing affection, which include tying things to the ends of your hair (usually ribbons, feathers or charms for warding off spirits or bad luck), pocketing some of your belongings while you're not looking or just grabbing ahold of you or your clothing and clinging tight.

Rosaria is entirely baffled, and maybe even a little offended. She’ll pull away sharply and give you a stern look, but won’t directly say anything about it. If you try again, you’ll earn an annoyed sigh. Repeated attempts will reward you with progressively more annoyed reactions, eventually escalating to you getting bopped (mostly gently) on the head with a book or paper she has on hand. After that, if you do it again, she can and will just walk away. She doesn’t understand and doesn’t really have a heavy desire to try and understand - all she knows is that it’s bothering her and she doesn’t like it. If you're in a situation that she isn't able to walk away from, you'll likely find yourself getting scolded or grumbled at - don't get too upset though, she isn't really that mad, and will forget about it pretty quickly.

Let's say you're 9 years old

They decided to adopt you because you were a polite kid and didn't cause much trouble

You were a little intimidated when you first saw them because...They both looked scary

But after a few weeks of staying with them, you started to like them

They were nice, Ningguang was a little more strict than Beidou, but that didn't matter

Sometimes you got sad because Ningguang didn't let you eat McDonald's for dinner (Beidou was sad too but she couldn't convince her wife that time </3)

Ningguang didn't allow you to have a phone because she claimed you were "too young" and that the internet would traumatize you (and she was right)

Beidou did let you use her phone when nobody was looking

That was a big mistake but let's not talk about it

You would also fall asleep in the car when coming back home after you three went out to eat dinner at night, maybe for a special occasion or something

Beidou would carry you to your bedroom and tuck you in, and then your moms would give you a kiss on the forehead

You would wake up wondering how you were in bed, you don't remember going to your room last night...

If you got bullied, and you got punished for defending yourself, you better expect Ningguang and Beidou to be on the principal's throat

They won't let anyone punish their child for doing nothing wrong

And they would definitely be supportive moms, you can't prove me wrong

This one isn’t as long as the other ones and it took forever to get out because of a mix of writers block and busy scheduling, but I hope you still like it! Wasn’t sure if you wanted Beidou to be platonic or romantic, so you can read it either way.

Darling, no. Please no. They love Darling with all their heart, and they adore their drive, but no. They’re not going back to that place.

Sure, the Vision Hunt Decree is abolished, but Inazuma still isn’t a safe place! It’s littered with Specters, Rifthounds, Automatons- even with a Vision, Inazuma is still very dangerous!

Now, it’s not like they won’t ever let Darling leave the boat. If they behave well for long enough, they might let them walk around a bit, though there are quite a few rules.

First rule is that the entire crew must accompany them with a few crew members leaving the group only if necessary. Beidou and Kazuha are always by their side.

Second rule is no attending large gatherings, festivals, anything with too many people. The last thing they want is Darling getting lost or using the crowd to try to escape.

Even if Darling behaves really well and even with these rules, it’s still quite hard to convince either of the two to let them out.

Although they’re both overprotective, Beidou and Kazuha have slightly different reasons to keep Darling inside. Kazuha not only looks up to Darling as an older sibling, he also understands the want to go out and explore Inazuma. Although dangerous, it’s still such a beautiful place, and he would love to spend a day with them, have a picnic, stargaze, enjoying the little moments. But then he remembers everything that could pose a danger to them, and the thought of losing yet another friend is enough to convince him it isn’t worth it.

Beidou, though also protective, is more possessive than anything. Yes, she doesn’t want Darling to get hurt, but she also doesn’t want other people getting their grimy hands on them. If anything, she uses the dangers of Inazuma to push Darling into her arms. Not saying that she likes seeing Darling to be chased by a Hillichurl camp, but it does feel nice to have them run to her with open arms after she saves them.

But let’s imagine that Darling sneaks off the Crux. It’s to be expected; being cramped on a ship while their crew mates can come and go as they wish is sure to have Darling itching to go outside and admire the beauty of the outdoors themselves. Kazuha would be, for the most part, level-headed but still concerned for Darling’s wellbeing, wanting to go out and search for them as soon as possible. While Beidou’s reaction is relaxed with a smidge of irritation.

When Darling is eventually found, Kazuha will be checking them for injuries while Beidou seems… strangely relaxed. She teases Darling, throwing an arm around their shoulders and saying if they wanted some attention, they could’ve just asked.

It’s all fun and games with Beidou joking around until they reach the Crux. Darling’s breath hitches as she has the crew members fetch rope and prepare extra locks on Darling’s cabin. Her grip tightens and her ruby eyes pierce their very soul.

They aren’t leaving any time soon.

Beidou x reader. Reader was a crewmember on board a ship of your discretion, for some reason, there was a group of crewmembers that just did not like the reader and one day they shove him overboard. He spends the next day in the freezing waters. Right when as he begins to go under, he is pulled up onto the Alcor by Beidou.

The Hunt for Forgotten Treasure - Beidou & GN!Reader

A/N: There's some Necro AU in there. Hope you don't mind! Enjoy.

The endless waters of the oceans hide unspeakable treasures. 

From your earliest days you took interest in the overwhelming vastness of them. You spent ages browsing through books about adventures, sea life and legendary sailors who ruled the seas of Teyvat in days gone by. You eagerly dived in the waters of Inazuma, marveling at the colorful fish swimming by. When you were young, every rock and every pile of sand seemed like a potential treasure stash. Though the disappointment was usually what you got out of digging them up, your desire for discovery never wavered. 

When you finished education in your early adulthood, you left Watatsumi Island behind in search of a legend you heard from your late mother. You promised her once, as merely a teen, that you would bring about all the treasure hidden under a particular island in the far North. You planned to stay true to your words. 

Using your oceanology knowledge, you made a fortune by catching and selling rare plant and animal species, sourced straight from the darkest depths of the ocean. Your Hydro Vision made the gathering process far easier. Having amassed the necessary funds, you bought a large ship to sail to the island your notes pointed to. 

Then the war came. 

Since, as a citizen of Watatsumi, you couldn't do business in the Shogunate. You were still missing a crew. With nothing to turn to, you settled for a more… shady team. Using your money to purchase good intel, you picked out a more honorable ronin leader. They agreed to man your ship for a hefty sum of money, which wasn't a problem for you. 

When you showed your maps and guides, you were met with plenty of suspicion from your second hand. The Kairagi didn't believe in legends or myths, but because of the sum you offered, he kept quiet. Until one night, that is. 

When you reached Inazuma's border, you had to face the storm the Shogun called forth. You steeled yourself, and ordered the crew to push on. Only because of the secret scrolls' guidance did you manage to come out on the other side. Yet there were casualties. This strained the leader's patience beyond limit, and he plotted a scheme against you. 

On a starless night, they dragged you out of bed, and, still in your nightgown, threw you off board when you refused to give them a straight way to the treasure you sought. You couldn't give them the answer - you still had to figure it out yourself. But they didn't care. So, the ship changed its capitan, and the only things you were left with were your clothes and the gallons of icy water around you. The Kairagi was honorable, however. Well, it's an overstatement - but he was indeed kind enough to throw you a board to hold on to. 

You knew the ocean would be your end from the first minute. The frigid water attacked your vulnerable, beaten body, slowly stripping you of all the feeling. Your arms grew weaker with each hour, the sun mercilessly shining down on your exposed neck. Your wounds, dealt to you by the hard fists of the traitorous mercenaries you hired, hurt, making holding on even more difficult. But the feeling - or rather lack thereof - of nothingness under your feet kept you desperately clutching your plank. 

After two days or so, you passed out from thirst, only to wake up in a soft and warm bed. 

Among the people moving around, dressing your wounds, you recognized a familiar figure. Tall, brown hair, characteristic hair pin and an eye cover all made Beidou quite the recogniseable character. She struck up a conversation shortly after you’ve woken up, bringing with her a refreshing cup of fresh water. Only then, driven more by thirst than the desire to keep your purpose secret, you finally opened your mouth and took out the only thing you managed to save from your research - a small, golden compass. Truth be told, its safe keeping cost you about eight broken teeth, but it was worth it. 

After having the best water of your life, you told Beidou about how you got here. Ever the curious adventurer, she asked you about the point of the voyage. You had to think about giving the explanation, but taking into account her reputation as an honorable capitan, you gave in. 

You described the legend about the three Lyres of the Anemo Archon your mother told you all those years ago. She heard it when she was young, and still lived in the city of freedom. The story described three powerful artifacts, created by the Anemo Archon himself. According to it, Barbatos created them to describe the world - each could be used to play a tune carrying more meaning than any amount of words. The first of them, Lyre of the Heavens, was made to tell of all the hopes, dreams and emotions of sapient beings. It sang praise of the soul and the mind, capable of comprehending and interpreting the world. The second was the Lyre of the Earth. It’s music told of life and its many forms. Whenever the archon played it, plants would grow and flowers would bloom at his feet. The final artifact was the Lyre of the Void. The notes caused life to wither away and fade. Though it was played only one time, the song contained a truth about the point of life, and Barbatos’ people would live out every day as if it were their last, understanding that death would inevitably claim them one day. 

When The War came to Mondstadt, the Archon was severely injured by War himself, and retreated deep into the city. His color guard, as few in number as they were, fought valiantly to defend their ruler. Though the undead were seemingly unending, Barbatos was kept safe long enough to make his escape and secure the Lyre of Heavens, the most powerful of them all. After many long hours of grueling combat, the guard fell, and the remaining items fell into the hands of the dead. While the Lyre of Void was destroyed for its strings, the Lyre of Earth was - allegedly - taken as a trophy to “the lands in the far North, where the candle of life burns the weakest”, along with all the looted treasures of Mondstadt. 

Beidou, having been to Mondstadt before, confirmed that the Lyre of Heavens remains inside the cathedral more or less intact. That gave her enough of a reason to believe the legend, and she agreed to seek out the artifact with your guidance. To find the Lyre the golden compass was needed, and it would not work without samples of all eight elemental gemstones. The first seven weren’t a problem as the experienced alchemists were able to acquire those from common elemental creatures. It was the onyx gemstone that was the issue. 

To obtain it, you and Beidou sailed to a remote island, famous for its many tombs and burial mounds of gods and humans alike. On the starless night, you arrived to find not only the slaughtered remains of your former employees, who were oblivious to the dangers of the journey, but also to the sight of many tens of undead horrors. Although Beidou and her men fought valiantly, they took plenty of casualties, with a handful of her sailors succumbing to their injuries. The sight of the small, black shard siphoned from a strange, spherical device was enough to convince Beidou to push forward however. 

As you made your way North, far past Mondstadt’s plains and Snezhnaya’s icy coasts, restlessness grew among the crew. Your character caused quite the controversies, and plenty of sailors felt a growing disdain towards you. Seeing this, Beidou quickly quieted down the coming mutiny. Ever since she raised her voice in your defense, not one of them has questioned your motives ever since.

As soon as you hit the rocky shores of that forgotten realm, you rushed to action. Time was limited, because the inhabitants could easily sense the disturbance of their familiar, lifeless homeland. Through the muddy, half frozen swamps your team went, but at last - you stood before a door, bearing the same mark as the one you saw in Mondstadt’s chronicle and your purchased ancient texts. With a short incantation you knew by heart, you opened the treasury to the somewhat underwhelming sight of about thirty dusty chests. 

Ordering the team to take as much as they can carry, you made your way back to the coast. 

Seeing your return, every single sailor came ashore to see the contents of the chests. Since you knew they were most likely trapped, you volunteered to be the one to open them. It was your journey, your dream, so it was obvious that you would be the one to pay the price should anything happen. Inside the first chest, you found the Lyre of Earth, preserved in perfect condition. In all the others there were treasures - coins, necklaces and gemstones. As you finished opening them all, you grabbed a golden chalice from one of them, filling it to the brim with gold and precious gemstones.You went to Beidou. Getting on your knee before her, you offered her the chalice. 

Beidou, roaring with triumphal laughter, took up the gift.

With her action you were also accepted into the crew for good.

Platonic Beidou and Kazuha with Thief!Reader

You started as a small-time thief in Liyue; pickpocketing small items to pawn off for food, or to share with the others that lived in the secluded corner of the city with you.

As you grew older however, so did the value of things you stole. Jewelry, personal items, even to shadow a person because they were suspected of some other offense by your commissioner - you did whatever jobs that came to someone with a lengthy criminal record. 

You’ve never hurt anyone, though - so maybe that’s why on the first night you receive your vision and accidentally hit a pursuer in defense, Beidou was quick to step in and de-escalate the situation. She gives you a word of advice before you escape into the harbor, wondering why it feels like you’ve seen her before.

Weeks later you're commissioned to steal an item from the Crux. Your agility got you as far as the deck before the crew tried to apprehend you, some supposedly-valuable document tucked into your pocket as you planned to make a dive into the water–

Until Beidou blocks your way, a glint in her eyes that's equal parts curious and on-guard; like a dragon that is well-aware one swing of her claws is all it’d take to knock you down. She raises her palms in the air however, a sign of peace. The captain gives you an offer.

From that point onward, you’ve become a member of their crew - well, considering that you sold out your commissioner to the Crux, it wasn’t like any of your clients would be thrilled at the idea of giving you anymore sensitive missions anyways. 

The training you had to take in order to professionally join them was grueling, but a part of you feels at peace with your routine now; work, eat, play, navigate, repeat. After you’ve reached a satisfactory level, Beidou informs you that there’s one last trial to pass: your reason for sailing with them.

Every day is an adventure with the Crux, but with it comes the risk of losing your life in the process. Beidou would not take a newcomer with half-hearted intentions; she wouldn’t want to rope you onto a life at sea like that.

Later on, when the Crux docks at Inazuma, you’re given a new task. Needless to say you’re quite sure that stealing an entire person is not the same as a jewel or prized painting, but the situation with the vision hunt decree was dire.

Luckily for you, Kazuha didn’t need to be found - he ran right into you while he was fleeing from guards, and you quickly led him to where the Crux was hidden to depart from Inazuma. The rest is history as time went on; Kazuha liked to ask you for stories about Liyue, and the first time you docked again, well… Beidou set you up to be his tour guide in a convoluted way (joking that his job was to make sure you don’t try to steal any treasure while you’re on land.)

Your sense of hearing is good, and so is your featherlight-touch that makes you handy in missions, but Kazuha is on a whole other league when it comes to spatial awareness. It’s reassuring to fight alongside him, and you’ve entrusted some of your combat training to him too (it’s hard to not want to improve once you witness his swordsmanship, after all.)

Oftentimes you’re used as a decoy for transactions if you need to plant an item or take something from the opposing side, or on another hand, the ‘spears’ of the Crux might cover you in battle while you sneak away to accomplish your task. It’s intense and exciting, but a lot more enjoyable compared to when you had to fight against the world alone.

Competitions to catch the largest fish is not an uncommon occurrence, and Beidou likes to say that you remind her a bit of her past self. Her fondness for you shows when she’s bragging to Ningguang about the skilled thief they have on-board, or joining you to visit those you used to live with.

Well… and if you’re a little too short to get alcohol on-board, she does sneak you a glass if you’re old enough. With a drink in hand and listening to Kazuha’s stories while he grills the day’s catch, there’s really nowhere else you’d rather call home.

synopsis. what, perchance, would liyue's notorious beidou and tianquan, ningguang, be like as parents?

i. It is undeniable: despite being the most desirable hostage in the eyes of criminals in the proximity of Liyue Harbor, as the one and only child of the wealthy Tianquan, you also remain the most untouchable. Whether residing safely up in Ningguang's prosperous palace in the sky, under the loyally watchful gaze of Liyue's most valiant protectors, or accompanied by your buff sailor mother with a giant sword. If the treasure hoarders wished to get their hands on you, one of the Qixing's dearest treasures, then they have another thing coming.

ii. Growing up, you were accustomed to two completely different worlds. Your mother, Ningguang, hosting her grand parties with only the most esteemed and wealthy of political guests; all speaking with such grace and complexity that solving the riddle which is the mere topic of conversation is a difficult one. You were usually seen hiding from these parties, as too many people with sweet smiles and glittery tongues approach you, only to attempt to coerce you out of information about your mother for leverage. Sometimes you would sneak out of the hall to find your other mother, Beidou, also hiding from the sheer entitlement.

iii. On the other hand, the Crux Fleet aboard the Alcor was a completely different setting entirely. Rather than the slightly suffocating air of prestige and class, this half smelt like food, freshly varnished wood, and the ocean. The loud chatter and laughter of sailors enjoying their time away from sea can be heard all around: drinking, eating, and treating Xiangling like a literal archon when she visits with her cooking supplies. The faint sound of the flute can be heard from the starboard side, and when you turn your head to it, your eyes meet Kazuha's, who smiles at you warmly. You would always enjoy this atmosphere from your mother's shoulders, and would have it no other way.

iv. Despite how necessary the gatherings are for the stability of Liyue and relations with other nations, Ningguang can (and will) send people home with a very stern warning for bothering you.

v. No matter what or how much work needs to be completed afterward, Ningguang always finds the time to be there and tuck you into bed at night. Even if she has fifteen piles of reports on her desk to read through before the morning, she would never rush this. If a particularly stressful day where she hadn't been able to see you as much as she would have liked, she would crawl into bed with you and recall any traditional Liyue fairy tales which come to mind until you eventually fall asleep, smoothing your hair. When home from a voyage, Beidou is usually seen watching this sight from the doorway with a lovesick grin. After difficult days, or on the first night home from sea, she would join in. Come to lay with you both, which usually ends with all three of you falling asleep on your bed.

vi. That look of pure astonishment and wonder that Beidou adores so much on your face as she holds onto you tightly atop the Alcor's crow's nest. The ship isn't setting sail, so she needs not to worry about keeping a lookout for potential incoming danger. She can focus the entirety of her attention on the more simple things happening before her. The wind in her hair, and your unbridled joy displayed right before her very eyes, as you look out to the vastness of the sea reaching out to Inazuma with a gaze of sparkles.

vii. Or the way that your childish mind can amplify an already interesting experience with just a sprinkle of imagination. What had started as Beidou showing you the cool new alterations to her ship due to a scuffle at sea, ended in you roleplaying as pirates battling an undead crew in dark waters. Some more adventurous members of the Crux fleet joining in just for the fun of it. Her standing behind you, hands over your own to guide as they are on the wheel, looking frantic as 'they're about to strike!' It's a fun experience, but most of the adults did feel a little childish afterwards with how invested they got into their roles...

viii. Sitting in Ningguang's lap as she works. It isn't the most fun of things to do, but when she's almost finished, it's some nice quality time as you await the last few minutes until she's free. One hand holding the report that she's currently reading, the same hand being used after she puts it down to write, the other circling around you as you play with whatever toy you have your current focus on at the time. Her chin rested on your head. It's a quiet atmosphere, the only noises heard being the shuffling of her secretaries, the scratching of her quill, and whatever noises you make in that little game of yours.

ix. Ningguang will postpone any and all meetings for personal matters when you're sick - they can wait. Only the finest of medicine can pass your lips when you are poorly, prescribed by only the finest of doctors. You are to be taken care of by nobody but professionals and your mothers in such a vulnerable state. Beidou makes a similar fuss, but not so intensely. When she's abroad, she eagerly awaits letters from her wife for updates on every little detail on your condition.

author's thoughts. you literally have the best brainrots omg <33 you're so right though aly! they would be the best big siblings fr. this was my first time writing beidou and it made me VERY nervous but honestly? i love her. i dont talk about her enough. learning to write her is simply a thing that takes practice and patience c:

kazuha is the calm and somewhat responsible big brother (he was technically running from the law at one point, so...), whereas beidou is the excitable and fun big sister.

big brother kazuha, who either sings you to sleep or reads to you until you fall asleep on difficult nights. his voice is so gentle and soothing; it's hard not to fall asleep when listening to him. his voice alone is thoroughly comparable to a lullaby. he doesn't even have to be singing. the soft tones of his voice are enough of a melody on their own. he's just so... indescribably gentle, like the calmest breeze grazing your skin on a hot day, so it's hardly any surprise that he's such a master at resolving insomnia.

big sister beidou, who tells you exciting tales of her adventures like one would to a young child, regardless of your age. she illustrates her stories with skill that many bards could only ever dream of—the way she so seamlessly manages to make her adventures come alive in anyone's mind is a talent so many could only hope to attain. it's hard to know where she got such a skill, but then again... maybe that's just because of her vibrant personality? the stories may or may not aid you in falling asleep, but she can almost always call upon kazuha if she happens to fail, so there's nothing to worry about.

big brother kazuha, who perches himself on a good vantage point on the alcor with you and points out fun shapes in the clouds or in the foamy water. maybe he'll write poetry while you sit beside him in calm silence. maybe he'll end up taking a nap with you curled at his side as the wind from the open ocean glides gently, soothingly, over your peaceful faces. who knows? regardless of how that time is spent, it becomes a sort of bonding ritual.

big sister beidou, who will effortlessly hoist you up onto her shoulders regardless of your weight because lets be honest—beidou should be beyond muscular. she's impossibly strong, so don't worry about it. she wants you to be able to clearly witness the might of the vast ocean! that's one of the best parts of travelling by sea! you've got to both admire its beauty and respect its danger. the sea is a wild beast worthy of awe. though, if you get seasick... she'd definitely feel a little guilty.

big brother kazuha, who tends to your needs while you're seasick. he helps administer whatever medication works best for you—which beidou likely picked up from baizhu one of the times she was in liyue—and makes such you stay hydrated. he'll make a mental note of your tendency towards motion sickness and will remember to give you medication before future trips begin. he's very attentive.

big sister beidou, who pops in every now and then to either apologize for getting you seasick or to make you laugh because laughter is so impossibly cherished by her. she treasures all the smiles and laughs she can get from her crew, you included. <3

Silent Living

Summary: You're mute, and cant talk? not a problem for your partner, they can find other ways to communicate, and honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

Warnings: mute reader, most of them dont know sign language but there are people where i think they would either have learned it already or will learn it for you, gn reader as always

Note: hehe its kinda hard to write for Noelle tbh, i just can't see her romantically if that makes sense, its like a platonic obsession i have for her. but i chose to write for some girlies bc i felt like it, luv you :P

Noelle

She's a sweetheart and i fully believe she would try to learn sign language the day you meet for the first time. but for the sake of the cute gestures lets pretend she barely knows any words in it, or that you arent the best yourself despite probably needing it heh.

(she would teach you some if so, or learn with you)

In a classic Noelle fashion, she does literally anything for you, though people would normally just have to speak her name, you can't. so she always keeps an extra eye on you to ensure she's there when you need her help. that may be a given, but its truly what shes best at doing.

Loves writing little notes for you, whether its just so you can remember something or if its to invite you anywhere, she loves it. and she has definitely not been carrying pen and paper with her for weeks so you could write notes for each other, no no.

I dont imagine her being the best with words, but is always very good at comforting. so if you need some reassurance or just comfort you can come to her. and you can let her know to be silent by putting a finger over her mouth if you like the silence more. she wont be offended don't worry.

Kinich

Not very good with words and likes silence when possible, so it's very common for you to sit in silence doing an activity together. he's best with actions at least, both giving and receiving, so just doing a tiny chore for him would mean more than words could.

Though it may be difficult to do anything for each other since he's quite busy, and so could you be. but he always has time to sit with you for at least 30 minutes a day and just spend quality time together.

if you ever need anything from him, he has a notebook on him at all times that you're free to write in. Although Ajaw has made a fuss about it being annoying to wait for you, but he'll shut up if Kinich locks him up.

Lynette

She loves the silence you bring. being around her brother all the time can get annoying, no matter how much she loves him, so a quiet tea time with you is often just what she needs. she knows you can feel out of place or left out even since you cant communicate as easily with her siblings. but she is always ready to talk for you.

No matter how much she hates public speaking, and how often she gets her brother to speak for her, she'll speak for you. if there's anything you'd like to say, just write it down and show it to her. she might even know what you wanted to say, by how you stand and how your muscles move. so she will sometimes speak for you before you even get to start writing it down.

She has made sure you're a part of the conversation, not just there and looking around. she might have some knowledge about sign language, but she knows many do not and makes sure everyone understands you.

(she might even ask father if they can get classes in sign language, or at least the siblings of hers that you interact with most often)

Beidou

Maybe not the best at silent communication, but she tries her very best. if she doesnt know sign language she'll learn it, mostly because she feels it would make you more comfortable, but its also something that she may find interesting.

She is very good at dealing with different kinds of people though, so expect yourself to feel right at home wherever you are on her ship. she might even have started teaching her crew how to talk with you properly, whether thats getting you something write down on or learning them a bit of sign language that im not sure of.

Unfortunately it all goes in weird directions when she's drunk, while she talks for you it might be hard to get her to pay attention enough or even speak your thoughts properly. Kazuha is your savior in this case.

Diluc

He has made sure every single maid and anyone he hires learn to speak through their hands. he might even have prepared for it before you started dating, and even some of his staff you have never met before just knows how to speak with you.

Its a given that you're going to be well treated at the dawn winery, but Diluc makes sure you feel the most at home you'll ever experience. you have at least 1 maid whos ready to tend to you in a seconds notice, whether its jsut that you need something to write on or you need to know where you lover is.

Will literally drop anything for you with just a finger on his shoulder. whatever you need, he'll do it. need a hug? no need to even gesture it he knows, someone doesnt understand you at all? he's ready to talk in your place for hours on end.

You introduce yourself, saying that you’re simple traveler who wanted to see the beauty of Watatsumi Island. Sangonomiya Samurai looked at you from head to toe with skeptic look. -“Your clothes doesn't seem to be good for traveling. And you don’t even seems to have a necessary items for that too.” He is right, from his point, you have to look very suspicious. -“Listen sir, if I was a Treasure Hoarder or Fatui I would be better prepared! I was a bit… unlucky and I end up with this stuff. But I am a simple traveler!” you try to persuade him, hoping that he will let you go to the village. -“Hmph, you won't fool me, better go away before I’ll throw you in jail!” he hold his spear towards you. You are perplexed and soon you start to feel a bit angry. -“You can’t just tell me to go away! You don’t have any evidence that I have bad intentions! I just want to see if I can buy anything!” you start to argue, now you start to wonder if it would be better to lie of being friends with Traveler. -“What’s going on here?” you turn your head to where you heard the new voice come. The first thing you see is fluffy dog ears.

-“Ah General Gorou!” the soldier saluted to general “I stopped this person to check who they are and what is their reason to came here, but the more I talk with them, the more suspicious they become.” The solider starts to explain to Gorou. The Canine Warrior looks over you. -“Hmm… these clothes are really not suited for traveling. Where did you come from?” You don’t know what to say. Should you lie about being from another nation? No, this may not be good solution. So you decided to say -“I don’t have home in Teyvat, this is why I travel around the nations.” Gorou looked into your eyes, deep in thought. Then he nod, smiling to you. -“Welcome to Bourou Village, we can’t offer too much but I hope you enjoy your stay.” You thank the general and smile to him, the soldier start to pout, mumbling something under his nose. When you see Gorou to turn around and go towards village, you look at samurai and stuck out your tongue. He got even more angry but didn’t say anything. Finally you can go to village.

While going behind Gorou, you can’t help but look at his tail. You have urge to touch it. You slowly reach your hand. But you stop. This isn’t a moment for things like this. You know that Gorou don’t completely trust you. And it would be impolite to just grab his tail.

After passing the little girl that looked at you with curious in her eyes, you reached the entrance to Bourou Village. Gorou didn't stopped and went further into village. So what to do now? If you want to spend more time with Gorou you can follow him, but there is no certainty that at this moment he will want to speak with you, he seems to be busy. You can look around village, speak with villagers or merchants, if you lucky maybe you’ll get something for free! You can go to Sangonomiya Shrine if you want to see Kokomi, but… you still haven't earned full trust, there is a chance that soldiers will chase you away before you see her.
