Today I went to an entertainment technology expo (plasafocus) in Orlando with Carl and our friend Chandler. Even though we had to wake up at 5 in the morning, I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and we had to drive 6+ hours round trip it was most definitely worth it. We met Zachary Matusow, who was the lighting designer for Foster the People and is currently designing for 30 Seconds to Mars (completely freaked out about that, tried to keep my cool but definitely had a huge fangirl moment). He took the time to chat with us and was very chill and awesome. Made me realize that some people in this industry are really awesome. We saw some amazing new technology and I learned a lot. The whole expo reminded me why I love the theater industry so much. (Plus we also went to IKEA and 4Rivers, so all and all awesome day.) I was planning on spending the day at the beach and packing up my apartment, but I think I made a wise decision by allowing myself to be "dragged" to the expo by Carl and Chandler. Thanks guys.
