My old college dorm had a wing which was abandoned after an earthquake left several patches of floor precariously sagging. Me and my friends would sneak through it at night - careful not to wake the students in the nearby corridor - to reach the nearby church's belltower. These outings were always tense, and more than once I imagined coming back only to find the ghost wing going on and on, far past the point we should have arrived back in the inhabited sections of the building.
