One of the first sketches that I've sold. I love spending time at the rotunda in front of Cafe Delmas, with my petite siege, my sketchbook and pencils. Curious Passersby would stop and check out what I was doing, especially the locals. Didn't plan on selling this sketch, but the tourist was really very nice and wanted it as a remembrance of his anniversary with his wife - so I sold it to him. I shot this at Café Delmas, in my absolute favorite square Place de la Contrescarpe in the whole of Paris. If I had a choice, this is the neighborhood that I would want to live in; it is 1950’s Paris alive and well with narry a tourist in sight.
