Pokémon: The Ruby Titan has now been outlined to the beginning of chapter eight, and has a bit more done of chapter one, plus a a little bit of a confrontation further down in the plot(bc I came up with it and just HAD to write it down)

Very VERY exited to finally get this thing going. The Ruby Titan started off as only a spin-off of the main project, a slightly more mature retelling of the gen 5 games, but has over the last few years it has become something that I have put almost all of myself into. This version of Hoenn is like a home to some with how much time my mind has been spent there, and I’ve become inexorably attached to many of the major characters who previously I had little to no major opinions on, ESPECIALLY the fics adult protagonist, Russel Zephyr.

To end this post I’d like to make some music recommendations: the bands “The Family Crest” and “Fish in a Birdcage”. With out these, the Ruby Titan quite literally would not exist. You can find them by simply putting their names into the YouTube search bar.

Tbh the coolest thing abt that post I reblogged is that now I only have one creation myth to write bc that original sin myth is using the slakoth line, a hoennian pokemon. Like ok I like. That’s the Four-Tree peoples creation myth done. And I already have the draconid ones and the Sootopolian one so that leaves the Pacifidlog one. Like that’s work I just don’t even need to do. And it fits w/ the realistic tone I go for in the myths so that’s cool too.

Writing a pokemon fic(or a comic in my case) that’s a retelling of one of the games is so fucking funny bc on the one hand Pokemon: The Ruby Titan is about a broken shell of a man, a scientist broken by climate change and capitalism, manipulated into acts of extreme eco-terrorism by an ancient evil fire god whose first memory is watching the moon form. But it’s also about a forty year old Englishman learning the power of friendship with his magical anole. Good shit.
