Big spoilers for Pokemon Rejuvenation 13.5's Renegade Route below the cut, but DUDE I HAVE THOUGHTS.

Dude M2 makes me want to fucking explode, I am OBSESSED with her. Like aside from her being the exact kind of insane I love in a character, beneath that is fucking FASCINATING.

Despite the timeline differences and insanity by years worth of wandering in a desolate fucking wasteland, you can see there's still Melia beneath all that. Melia who is sick and tired of the shit she's had to go through, seen the end of the world and gotten a second shot. And what she's done is declared it inevitable and decided she's going out on her own terms, and she'll do whatever she wants as she goes down, and is taking whoever has wronged her with her.

Like and that's what I love! Her anger isn't insane! It isn't directionless, she's clearly uncomfortable with the idea of killing Talon! Her first instinct upon seeing him rift is to save him like with Aelita before realizing that he would just be forced to rift again. And with Ren! She fucking hated Ren! He was on her (s)hit list! But when she realized that this was not the same Ren as her original timeline, one who wasn't selfishly going for power, one willing to die to atone for the sins of someone who isn't him, she let him live! And this was something she pointed out with Karrina! How the worst part of her was that at the end she was still trying to save her own skin with no attempt atonement or apology.

On top of that we can still see some doubt seeping through in how she asks the interceptor if there's a chance they won't end the world, before quickly dropping the subject when it was clear they had no plans on dropping it. And I love how Amber points out M2 likely doesn't hate everyone, but is just lashing out. M2 is damaged by her timeline ending and being stuck in purgatory for years. But despite this damage, there's still Melia buried under it all! And M2 tries to keep it all buried because I feel like she knows that Melia wouldn't do what she's doing, but that's fine, because she's not Melia, she's M2.

And I can fucking see it now, after her reckless use of the Archetype has let Genisis Syndrome ravage her and she's too weak to possibly stop the end she'd once thought so inevitable, she's gonna regret a lot of what she did. I dunno if she'll regret all of it, but she might regret at least not trying to stop the end.

I just wanted to put all this out there because I feel like people are gonna focus on M2's more outlandish behavior! And I'm glad for that, she's genuinely a very fun character and you can tell the folks who wrote her had a blast doing so, and I genuinely think introducing her as your companion in the renegade route was a fantastic idea. But there's so much more there and just AGHGHGGHGHGHG HER!!!!

And I promise I'm not saying that because I absolutely fucking called an evil and fucked up Melia pre-release, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

A bit of spoiler for Renegade Talon fight.

Aka, I know I couldn't bring myself to do the Renegade route so I watched a gameplay and let me tell you... it hurts. Also I just really love Talon and Florin when I first met them, so I'm just copping with sketching this while listening to his boss OST :'D

This is a minor change in the story, like, it's not really important in the grand scheme of things but it's still stood out to me

In the old version, Jenner asked Ren to do an extra job and Ren refused cuz' it was out of his work hour

I always assume that the professor orrginally gonna ask Ren to be Melia's bodyguard.

Yet in the update version, Jenner mentioned nothing, Ren just done with his task and proceed to go out after battling MC, who at this time, just a random new trainer whom Jenner just met, we could argue that after battling Ren, Jenner find MC to be a more capable trainer (altho, this make it sound like Ren is not suitable in Jenner's eyes, lol) or Jenner figures if Ren just happen to be around Melia during the "pick up", Madelis would get suspicious of Jenner thus punishing him?

It's such a minor different but it paint Jenner's action in different light to me

Previous version feel like he quite adamant and hopeful about Ren accepting his unknown request but "fate" messed him up so he have to be adaptive and rely on a random trainer.

While in the updated version, it's just...Feel like, Ren was never part of Jenner's option?

This was a brutal moment in Renegade, absoLUTELY.

WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE RENEGADE KARMA FILES

I just recently finished the renegade route and it has NOT left my brain. there is ONE THING that i have to talk about. i have to. HUGE spoils below

THEY CAME FOR ME. THEY CAME FOR ME SPECIFICALLY. AND I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. SO LET'S TALK ABOUT IT

Amber dies in the most fitting, tragic end ever.

Starting off STRONG but uh. As Amber's #1 fan I have been in legit fucking MOURNING. LIKE. WOW. THEY REALLY CAME FOR MY THROAT THERE HUH.

I've spent days just thinking about it. How fitting it is, how terrible it is. Because M2 said it herself; It's a true death. No one remembers her and therefore there will be no one to mourn her. And this is RENEGADE. This is the bad route, so that means that there's gonna be no respite. No saving her, or anyone else that died. She'll remain a burned, forgotten memory until the rest of the world joins her.

And her mother will remain grieving with no idea why. She is grieving a daughter she can't possibly comprehend. She'll remain in her sorrow, unable to connect the pieces until she's inevitably erased too.

Amber thought about her in her final moments, thought about how she wanted to be like her. She wanted to relay a final message in her sacrifice; One that is forgotten by both the messenger and reciever. She loves her mom more than anything in the world and she can't even give her the final message from her daughter to let Tesla grieve.

And it's fitting. Her being forgotten. Her anger burns just as hot as her desire to be wanted, after all. She just wants friends, to be included, to be loved and cherished by someone. But she blames herself for her problems and sees herself as a burden, so she pushes people away. She thinks she wants to be isolated, because she ultimately sees herself unworthy of love. But that isn't further from the truth. She's capable of love and more. She reconnects with Venam, learns to open up and express her emotions around her mom. She gets support. She gets love because she is worthy.

Only for her to sacrifice herself for that love she wanted. Ending up where she thought she deserved. Forgotten, discarded, and alone. Her death takes everything she actually wants and erases it entirely. And she is left not even alone. Not even a concept. Just nothing.

There will be no more anything for Amber Von Brandt. The world forgot her just as she wanted. Her best friend's final thought of her fades so fast it doesn't even matter. Her mother remains in turmoil, broken over a love she doesn't know she had. Her only child is the child that took away what she doesn't know she lost.

There's no mourning. There's nothing. And it's so fitting it hurts.

Anyways tl;dr styx is sad about ambers death bc DUH. DID ANY OF U SEE IT. WHAT THE FUCK JAN.
