thinking about my pjox3h crossover and how if I were to write it id actually have poseidon sire two children: claude and shahid. and I'd paint their sibling rivalry as a commentary on how their father's pure bias and favouritism is what drives shahid away and forced him to go against him and rail against his brother

in a Percy Jackson au, do you have any thoughts as to how Byleth's story would be translated into it?
thank you for feeding my insanity
byleth arrives at camp half blood much later than anyone else
most kids are either claimed or already at camp by age 12, byleth gets there on the cusp of her 15th birthday (with a whole horde of monsters on her heels)
the strange part is that she does not have a satyr with her. her father told her if she were ever separated from him, to go to this place
byleth thought she was making her final stand on the hill, not knowing camp half blood was just down the valley
she cut down all of the monsters with the sword jeralt gave her and passes out. the campers find her shortly after and take her to the big house
everyone is extremely put off by her. she is visibly older than their usual new campers, she doesn't emote, she's a complete anomaly
but there's no doubt she's a demigod. adhd, dyslexia, moved around a lot growing up, has at least one (1) missing parent. she fits the typical demigod experience but no one can get a read on her
there is no hint who her godly parent could be and into the hermes cabin she goes with the rest of the unclaimed
byleth is one of the few new campers that approaches hestia to talk when she first arrives
rumors immediately circulate about who byleth is and who her godly parent might be, the most wild being that she isn't even a halfblood just a demon here to infiltrate camp
the children of the big three take immediate interest in her (dima son of zeus, claude son of poseidon, and edelgard daughter of hades)
tensions are running high within the camp borders because of the children of the big three who shouldn't have been born and the mystery of who byleth is only seems to heighten it
the other campers quickly learn that byleth is a force to be reckoned with, her tactics in capture the flag are legendary and everyone suddenly wants her on the team
but strange things are happening within the camp: campers are going missing, monsters are sneaking in, dark clouds are brewing over camp half blood's sealed borders
the oracle stirs in the attic and byleth feels as though she is being watched at every turn
one thing leads to another and she receives a coded message from her father jeralt. she must go on a quest to find him and get to the bottom of this and find out who she really is

demigod edelgard, the only known living child of hades
edelgard has been at camp half blood since she was nine years old
she’s known she was a demigod for even longer but she can’t remember her own mother’s face
her “””uncle””” took her to camp to “””protect””” her (they’re not even her uncle, he’s one of hades’ furies that disguised himself as her uncle and smuggled her across the camp’s borders, no one would tell her what they were running from)
her arrival at camp was not met with the warmest welcome. she’s the daughter of hades and she never should have even been born in the first place. still, everyone at camp knows her because of how long she’s been there
other campers, especially the newer ones, are wary of her. they think she’s standoffish and cold and arrogant. don't even get them started on her special bone axe she always carries around. edelgard radiates death so others are hesitant to get too close
edelgard was in the hermes cabin for the longest time because hades didn’t have cabin at camp. they had to build one for her to stay in and now she is the sole camper in cabin #13
she has a lot of sympathy for the unclaimed kids. it's not fair that a lot of them have been forgotten by their godly parent. a lot of their mortal families aren't exactly great either.
if you walk by her cabin late at night, you may hear her talking with old spirits...
when edelgard gets really upset, the grass she’s standing on will wilt and the room temperature will noticeably drop. one time, a bunch of flies around her immediately dropped dead as she lost control of her temper
rumors immediately spread throughout camp about her powers and how she killed multiple children and that's why she never talks about her mortal family (but the truth is that she can't even remember them)
she hates losing control of her powers and never wants the fly incident to happen again. she’s worked very hard over the past 4 years to keep control over herself
she's very close with the camp activities director, who helped her train and taught her how to fight
camp half blood is her home, through and through. she can hardly remember life before it
edelgard knows the camp grounds better than anyone. when she's not training or doing cabin chores, she's out exploring the grounds or hiking in the forest. she knows every nook and cranny at this point.
she'll sometimes appear out of nowhere and no one can tell if she shadow travelled or if she was just hiding out in a dark corner
one time, she snuck up to the attic to speak with the oracle. she heard a prophecy about a powerful demigod and she still gets nightmares about it.
she also has this inexplicable feeling of longing in her chest, like something big is about to happen. she’s itching to finally get her own quest. she’s hungry for a chance to get out there in the real world again.
edelgard has four clay beads on her camp necklace: a burning bird skull, a golden chariot snapped in half, a dragon in a prom dress, and a sword set ablaze

anon back with more FE Percy Au questions just cuz i hope its fun for you to answer. Who is the god parent the expected one, Sitri or the more unexpected one Jeralt? How thirsty are our three lords for this strange stranger? Do they have theories of their own on who Byleths godly parent is? Just who is Byleths godly parent? and of course how much do they try to show off so she becomes their tactician in capture the flag?
ohohoho these are very fun for me to answer, anon! thank you for enabling me! (and sorry for the late response)
how thirsty are out three lords for this stranger?
when i said that the three of them are immediately drawn to byleth, i meant it. as in, the three of them were literally sneaking out of camp that night and they were the ones to find byleth on that hill right as she cut down the final monsters. almost as if something was compelling the three of them to come to the hill...
fate... destiny... a rebellious teenage attitude.
all three are impressed when they see byleth holding her own against a horde of monsters. they're children of the big three, they know what power looks like. once she starts to settle into camp, then their reactions start to vary.
claude refuses to get too close to byleth until he knows for sure who her godly parent is. he'll keep her at an arms length but he's watching her settle into camp from a friendly distance. more allies on his side is always good, especially a new mysterious and powerful demigod
dimitri and edelgard are in varying degrees of crush territory. with dima, it's more along the lines of longing and admiring stares from a distance. one of those early teenage crushes. the aphrodite cabin teases him relentlessly. but he is still the proud and noble son of the lord of the sky. he is very friendly with byleth and they are fast friends.
edelgard is a little more wary but she's fascinated. she's got big plans and byleth could be the key to success or the one to tear down all the progress she's made to finally get her own quest. it's a weird mix and it almost makes the crush more exciting. she'll need to stay by byleth just to keep an eye on her. for strategic purposes of course!
do they have theories of their own on who Byleths godly parent is?
it's a running gag around camp half blood for kids to place bets on the unclaimed. someone in the hermes cabin starts it as a joke and now it's almost a like a tradition.
one that local demigod balthus always loses.
claude is closely following the betting pool for Byleth's name and claimed status. he has his theories but he'll keep his cards close to his chest until he knows for sure what to make of her but that doesn't mean he can't make friends with her. (and also fish for more clues from the girl herself.)
dimitri doesn't concern himself too much with speculating. it's not his business and he doesn't have it in him to pry. he tells byleth a lot that it's okay if she is never claimed, a lot of half bloods never know their godly parent, she'll always have a place at camp, etc. etc.
edelgard isn't concerned with the childish betting pool, she's concerned about the person. she heard a prophecy years ago and has been searching for the one who it might be about ever since. she's the one, it must be byleth, she thinks to herself. it has to be...
how much do they try to show off so she becomes their tactician in capture the flag?
claude is working the friend angle hard. he's trying to build a bond and trust. maybe he makes some waves in the lake too, redirects the river a few times while byleth coincidentally just so happens to be walking by. just to prove he's winning team material. he's also trading favors with the other cabins and swapping chores to ensure byleth is on his team for the next capture the flag.
dimitri really needs an alliance with the hermes cabin, where byleth is. the zeus cabin has been on a losing streak for the past few weeks since the poseidon & hades cabins have been teaming up. he's very nice about it though, suggests it in earnest to her and says she should consider it and bring it up to the hermes cabin counselor.
edelgard asks directly. she marches straight into the hermes cabin and asks for an alliance for the next game. she doesn't have time to waste. her custom axe glints at her back as she walks in carrying a six pack of coke as a peace offering. she already has ideas for team names.
Who is the god parent the expected one, Sitri or the more unexpected one Jeralt?
byleth's olympian genes definitely stem from sitri. of course, that doesn't mean jeralt "the legendary blade breaker" eisner doesn't also have some blessed ties himself ;)
