Jack took a deep breath, brushing invisible wrinkles out of his suit jacket as if it had been anything other than immaculate since the moment he put it on. He inspected his fingernails briefly before glancing back up at the receptionist.

"Frost. Jack Frost. I had an appointment at nine? The Guardians agency sent me."

"You're the...bodyguard?"

Jack had to suppress a sigh. "Yes."

She wasn’t alone.

That’s what she wanted right? Jade couldn’t remember, well, there were glimpses, flashes of cinnamon skin and the taste of strawberries on her tongue. A stranger with long blond hair whispering empty promises in her ear before disappearing.

Now there was Pitch, her King. Like a father to her in all but blood. The Guardians weren’t happy with a mostly-mortal believer falling out of their grasp, but as far as Jade was concerned, there was plenty they could’ve done if they cared that much.

Evidently Pitch cared more than they did, simple as that.

Moving over to the small table, Jade set down two cups of tea, one for herself and the other for her King. “I hope it’s okay, I’ve never really made tea before.”

“It was just a dream”

She chuckled, shaking her head in bewilderment at the statement. Arms crossed in front of her, a barrier. In the shadows her grey eyes were indistinguishable with no light to reflect in them. 

“Dreams only come to those who want them, need them… but those memories are so incredibly far away they might as well be. If I forgot them… I don’t want to lose my identity.”

Pitch held the dark book in one hand and poured a goblet of blood onto the pentagram on his tiled kitchen floor. In the pentagram was his departed lover’s bones as well as a charm on top of it. The dark haired man began to mutter the spell over and over again. One way or the other he was going to get his lover back.

The red headed fae watched the strange man wander though her people’s magical woods. She had to admit she had become a little attached to the man, it was not everyday she got to meet a new person after all. At that moment on a whim the fae decided that she wished to keep him. She came out of her hiding spoke and beckoned him over to her. “Ya should come with me before the storm hits” she said giving him a small smile.

“Huh?” Chad turned and quickly put his hand on his chest, only to feel the emptiness on the inside of his coat pocket. “Oh! Well thank you!” He reaches to take his flask back. “If I don’t have my morning coffee, I turn into a real bitch.” He laughed.

A time of fun and enjoyment. While Elsa had this same thought now, she also remembered a dark time of her life. When there were no winter days of fun, locked away in her room. Just waiting for the night to fall, for the light to disappear and leave her in cold darkness. She sat in her room now, the book she had been reading closed in her lap. The candles next to her had burned down, now just glowing with small flames. Her eyes wandered in the darkness, watching the dancing shadows. Ever since she was a child, she pretended someone was there. Part of the shadows, part of the dark.  But now, it almost felt real. As if someone was watching her.

Kozmotis sleepily crawls on top of chair and rests his head on his shoulder. "I'm tireddd..."

Chair smiled and wrapped his arms around Kozmotis, “you’ve been working too hard.” He said, “but if you’re so tired then you can fall asleep on me.”
