• Iris, the newly fallen Ruler and often seen dictator of the Following. Power hunger and righteousness became her untimely downfall, along with anyone on her side and her very own child.

• Ivy, prisoner of the Following. Saving her from imprisonment became an ultimate goal. Her own sister locked her away in claims of containing a so called corruption that fueled Ivy's veins.

• The "Lotus Eaters": groups of lost and convinced cultists found themselves in bliss and over-indulgence as they found the island of mindless fruits.

• Additional monsters of the Codfather's island: while the other entities of the island were prone to belittle and tease the disfigured cod, they were still intent to protect him. They don't tend to be too fond of false alarms, however.

• The man-eaters: this story's Laestrygonians, Queen Lizzie created an entirely new species of seemingly mutated fish creatures, most in resemblance to Axolotls. They are hungry for any unfortunate soul who falls into their waters.

The Underworld

• Will & Eddie: two souls who miss their friends and loved ones dearly. Each were happy to see those they cherish on their journey through the Underworld. Though brief, they did what they could to give the remaining crew some sense of comfort and love they once were so overabunted in giving.

• Michela & Redd: two souls filled with bitterness and resentment. While they could find themselves forgiving their friends for foolish choices & careless disregards, wounds are too fresh for them to have a clear mind. Floods of their friends have come in, screaming their tragedies and fueling more hatred among plenty of them towards the unfortunate survivors.

Monsters

• A reflection shown to a captain long in need of a wake up call

• Scylla: a monsterous amalgamation of history's corruptions. She takes on her most recent host's appearence. From that of convincing fae, to fungal viruses that took over their hosts minds, Scylla hungers and she will feed.

Alt. Gods

• Aeor: a more casual, human esque appearence. He takes on this look for those He typically doesn't expect to live long enough to remember. He takes on this look to make sure any mortal will hear what He has to say.

• Exor: a more casual, friendly appearence. Years have passed and they wish to appear approachable as they can manage as they approach the son of someone they would once and wish to call their friend.

• Sausage, the island of paradise. He just wants to go home. He just wants to feel home.

#1 Zeus Cabin: Jimmy, Joel Jimmy: He's a Zeus kid, but everyone somehow forgets about it. Joel: He's competitive and strong. Also, because Jimmy is his half brother through godly parent, i get to make a fun bit about him dating Lizzie. And one of his origins in Afterlife SMP was a thunderborn

#2 Hera Cabin: Scott Scott: Scott's whole thing is loyalty. Hera is the goddess of marriage and is insanely loyal to Zeus. However, I feel like Hera should get at least one affair. So now Scott can use peacocks as weapons.

#3 Poseidon Cabin: Skizz Skizz: Poseidon kids tend to be really, really loyal to a fault and heroic, both qualities I think Skizz possesses.

#4 Demeter Cabin: Sausage, Shelby, Bdubs, Stress Sausage: This man built Sanctuary in a jungle and has flowers in his hair. He sells wood. There is no other place to put him. Shelby: Mushroom gnome, spooky mangrove witch, powerful storm witch, i need not continue. Bdubs: Moss man. Stress: SHE HAS FLOWERS

#5 Ares Cabin: Martyn, False Martyn: His planet is Mars, which is the roman version of Ares. He ended Limited Life in such a violent way, i can't help it. He was also red for the majority of Secret Life. False: I just feel like False should get to kill people more often.

#6 Athena Cabin: Grian, Pix, Owen, Xisuma Grian: This sums it up pretty well

Pix: Smart man. Archeologist and definitely a nerd. I wanna see him skipping out on training just so he can read history books. Owen: He likes to explore and discover new things in Pirates. In Rats, he's a tinkerer. In New Life, he's an explorer who wants to study hybrids. In Empires, he's a Llama who's curious about how humans work. Just a very curious character overall. Xisuma: Admin. I'm not elaborating.

#7 Apollo Cabin: Gem, Oli, Lyarrah Gem: She is an Apollo kid because of her Empire in S2. She's the sunlight princess. Apollo kid. Oli: MUSIC. MAN. Lyarrah: She writes the captions for the hermitcraft recap.

#8 Artemis Cabin: Pearl Pearl: Y'know, Artemis could've just like... had a kid, even though she took that oath. It wouldn't even have to be with a guy. Gods can change to whatever gender they want. Anyway, Pearl gets to be an Artemis kid because her symbolism is moon, she loves dogs, and will commit murder and hunt at night.

#10 Aphrodite Cabin: Keralis Keralis: Okay, I don't know why, but Keralis gives me the vibes of a very charming person. His voice is nice to listen to, so imagine how useful it'd be if I gave him charm speak.

#11 Hermes Cabin: Scar, Etho, Joe Scar: Trader Scar, scammer extraordinar. Etho: All i must say is Shady-E's. I get "jack-of-all-trades, master of none, often better than master of one" vibes from him. He's funny, he's mischievous, it just works. Joe: Comedy man. Excellent delivery. And, yet again, i look at this man and go "That right there is a multi-talented man with a habit for mischief."

Qsmp: ppl who are trapped and constantly monitered. At one point a literal eye in the sky forces them to suffer for its amusement

Eyes and Ears: of group of creatures that feed on emotion begin focusing on pain and decide to basically farm it, not caring that this damages the souls of those they feed on. They make players fight to the death for their own amusement

Pirates Smp: A being that feeds on negativity sprouts purple goopy tendrils that destroy whole towns. A girl named Iris traps people in an ice wall and basically farms and sacrifices them.

Empires Smp: A corruption sprouts red tendrils and even giant eyeballs at some point that causes agression in those that are exposed to it for too long

Dream Smp: Giant egg that feeds on death if I remember right and sprouts giant red tendrils to infect ppl and get them to do its bidding

Idk if this is just like inspiration or something is going on here. Not like connected lore but the reapearing thing of corruption driving ppl to do crazy things to please a constantly growing and consuming entity along with beings that feed on the suffering of others/trap and watch ppl suffer for their amusement... Like hmm... I wonder why this is becoming a trope /s

the crypts

the crypts are now open! they can be accessed using tokens (red crystals) bought from the curator npc for 1000 gold each

only at most 2 people can enter a crypt at the same time

inside are timed puzzles! it's kind of like the sands of time in there, and if they don't solve the puzzle in time, they die and are sent back to the entrance

the reward for completing a crypt is lots of gold and resources, and also a lore book on a pirates worldbuilding story!

the only livestream povs that don't involve visiting a crypt today are apokuna, graecie, and krowfang, all of whom are involved in the lore

the cruppy cleaning crew

p!apo finds cruppy messing around with marnie's statue and is mad at it for disrespecting the dead

he goes to find p!martyn to reassemble the cruppy cleaning crew (team 3c from now on)

team 3c kidnaps cruppy using a lasso and drags it to monkey island for interrogation

p!graecie is watching this happen and recruits kuervo to go rescue cruppy

on the way to monkey island, team 3c sails past p!el on her ship while she's going back to the faction isles. this will be important later.

team 3c locks cruppy in the cage on monkey island and interrogate it for information, torturing it with a lava bucket if it doesn't give a satisfactory answer

p!graecie and kuervo get there and free cruppy, and basically go off on team 3c for torturing a creature with the mental capacity of a small child

in an attempt to justify their actions, p!martyn says that the entire faction isles has been selfish and only caring for themselves (incorrect), and p!apo cites that corpse desecration is wrong (gets shut down because "small children" have no concept of death)

patchlings W, team 3c L, also p!graecie officially announces being marnie's appointed successor as nightingale faction leader, so yes, she can tell p!apo what to do now

p!apo also kind of burns p!graecie with a lava bucket around this time

in between all this, p!martyn decides to get out of dodge but passes p!el's ship on his way back to the isles

p!martyn then decides to go after p!el and kill her for allegedly snitching on team 3c kidnapping cruppy

meanwhile, p!el just came out here to look for crypts with p!bek and has no clue what p!martyn is even mad about

back on monkey island, p!apo runs off to apologize to and consult with someone called alphie

p!graecie comforts cruppy and tries to take it back to the isles

kuervo is still debating whether to leave the faction isles behind, but on his way back, p!bek's boat (which he was using since he couldn't find his own) gets struck by lightning and sunk. he is last seen drowning. there will be a lore stream tomorrow

what we found out from the torture-interrogation (at least as cruppy claims)

cruppy is an ally to the faction isles

it swam to the isles by itself on day 1 after recruitment day

cruppy freaks out whenever it hears the name 'ivy'

it is evasive about how it is related to the corruption, and if the cultists and iris are bad or not

cruppy has always been what it is now; it is not sandro caravel in disguise or anything

it first came into existence before recruitment day

it doesn't know anything about mufasa and the sabertooth clan

So PiratesSMP is officially over... My god it's gonna be weird without it.

Before I voice my thoughts about the finale itself (which will be under the cut for spoiler reasons), I wanna give my thanks to PowCreations, noname and the cast for this amazing smp.

From day 1, PiratesSMP had me hooked, both in story and concept (by the latter I mean the ships, the factions, the quests, the npcs etc. etc.).

The world you built – both literally and through the writing – is beautiful and I enjoyed seeing, writing and sharing theories about the lore you created.

And though there's no way I can ever watch every POV available in it's entirety, what I saw in terms of character lore in this colorful cast I enjoyed immensely.

Again, thank you everyone for this wonderful smp, I can't wait to see what else you'll cook up for us in the future!

Now, thoughts on the finale

When the end of the finale was announced in the lore stream about Sandro, I was... stumped, for a lack of better word.

I felt like there were to many things, to many questions left and it all felt like it was gonna be weirdly cut off.

But now that I watched the finale? Well, I wonder why I was so worried in the first place, because everyone absolutely delivered!

I love happy, hopeful endings and though there was a couple deaths and poor cruppy was sacrificed (o7 Cruppy, we'll miss you dearly), the corruption is gone, the church is gone, even the ice wall is gone. Now the isles are safe and the pirates have the whole world to explore and honestly? That's the best ending we could hope for

On that note, getting to vote on who to fight was kinda nice, you know, being included in the lore, but BOI was it stressful! I was literally shaking in fear that we were wrong somehow, even though we have NO reason to trust Iris, but we have reason to trust Cruppy.

But hey, trusting in Cruppy was the right choice, we got the happy ending and I'm gonna be watching so many vods over the next few days

so… we have some more pirates smp lore crumbs it seems. abolishregret posted a tiktok today with a rather ominous poem in it. i’m not particularly good at connecting these sorts of dots and coming up with theories beyond surface level, so i’ll pop the transcript below for all you genius theorycrafters out there. some of the words appear randomly capitalised, not sure if that’s intentional or not (there were a couple of typos in the original video’s captions so it’s possible), but i’ve kept them capitalised like that in case it’s relevant.

I watched a couple of Pirates SMP streams early on and I enjoyed them, then I stopped watching because I didn´t have the time and I liked other things more. Today though out of curiosity I watched Cleo´s VOD of yesterday´s finale. I don´t know enough about the story to have a lot of thoughts about it but there was one element that I found super interesting from a meta perspective. (Spoilers under the cut.)

At one point the characters overhear a discussion between two characters, Ivy and Iris, who disagree about how to deal with a major threat (basically.) I expected the next step would be for the characters to decide who they would support. But that´s not what happened: there was a text on screen announcing that a decision had to be made, and that the players would make the decision according to polls in their twitch chats.

I´ve never seen something like that before. Has that happened before on Pirates SMP? Does that happen often on other SMPs? On a roleplay-heavy server it takes the most important decision of the overall story out of the characters´ hands. The characters later defended their decision and argued about it with each other, but they could only decide how to justify the pick that was forced on them. Sure, it means more direct participation from chat and probably the viewers feel more involved in a story they helped shape, but it´s also a risk and a question of how much you trust your chat not to troll (or to read. Scott actually restarted his poll because of reading comprehension issues.) Would be interesting to know how close it was overall.

Random SMP Theories #2

(Pirates SMP+Esmp?)

- Are Empires season one and Pirates SMP connected? The faction isles do seem like they could resemble the terrain of Empires. Also, if this is true, is the heron library the library Scott finds in Empires SMP season one? It is situated in the mountain area, it has the same layout, and it contains many magical books. The two characters (Ivy and Iris) seem to posses the souls that seem eerily similar to Aeor and Exor in the Empires SMP. Iris has ice powers and can freeze people. Ivy has possession abilities and can take over entire areas with her purple tentacles. This seems extremely similar to Scott and Xornoth’s powers in season one with the only difference being that Xornoth’s tentacles were more red than purple. Also, assuming that the worlds are connected, which one came first chronologically? I would have to assume that Pirates SMP came first because of the ocean draining at the end of Empires season one but the lore book that Scott found in season one had no mention of the sisters. This also makes me wonder if Lizzie and Jimmy were alive at the time of Pirates or not.

- What if after the wall falls then the pirate Joe (one of the island members) took a crew to adventure and landed on Esmp? Joe had just come with his crew to sail out at sea and his ship that he had sailed looked awfully similar to the ships that we see on the faction isles. Joe is also wearing all red showing that he is in fact a kite and I believe that skeletron had something to do with the dead rising from the ground.
