NOT gonna just placidly sit in a beaker#i'd literally rather deal with hydrofluoric acid thanks#editing tags to add:#piranha sol works by first dehydrating the organics then removing all the leftover carbon#literally just straight up vaporises it all#also. there is plenty of things it won't work on. same with aqua regia#i'm glad i don't work in a geochem lab bc they often have to try to dissolve some really recalcitrant minerals#which involves a “four acid digest” - hydrochloric and nitric in their aqua regia ratio#PLUS hydrofluoric acid (we use this method up to here at my work)#AND perchloric acid#perchloric acid is not only nastily corrosive but likes to form explosive compounds too#and not just in the pressurised vessel way#anyway. i've probs infodumped enough on this post lmao
