Hi! I hope you’re doing well :)
I’ve gotten back on a Captain Canary kick recently, and I’m so sorry if I’m mistaken or if I’m bothering you, but I’m searching for a fic that might’ve been yours?
It was about the time when Sara died (the first time) and she kind of haunted Leonard as a ghost? Might be because they were soulmates, I don’t remember, but I remember Leonard called her Blinky and made a little circuit board with light switches for yes and no, and I also remember Sara going crazy trying to warn him about Alexa. And then she disappears (because she’s brought back to life), and I think the oneshot ended with them meeting on that rooftop?
If this wasn’t your fic I’m so sorry for bothering you, but if it sounds at all familiar to you, I would love to know what it was!
I hope you have a lovely day/night :)
Hi Anon!
It's never a bother! I know I'm not super active in Captain Canary anymore, unfortunately, but I'm still here and I'm always down to chat!
Sadly, that was not my fic, but I do remember reading it and how amazing it was! Even more sadly, it would seem I never bookmarked it. I went and checked through a whole bunch of CC fics, all sorts of different filters on, and through some prompt collections of my mutuals, but I also can't seem to find it. I'm tagging all my CC friends here, if any of you wrote or know this fic, let us know! It's going to drive me nuts now and I would LOVE to read it again as well!
Hope all is well Anon, I wish I could've been more helpful!

It was originally intended to be one long video, but it was too much and wouldn’t save, so I had to screen record it and break it down to multiple videos to get this thing up. It took a lot of work and unfortunately it isn’t the greatest quality because of the set back, but oh well, lol. But I’m not asking for likes or anything, I just have been wanting to create this for a long time to share with the Captain Canary fans, because this pairing is very much underrated and loved. The only thing I’d ask is to share it with anyone who loves this pairing, so they can enjoy watching it too :) Thank you ❤️

I've been playing with streaks in funky colors all summer. Temp. dye that fades quickly. So yesterday I decided that my roots were too obvious and decided to redo all my hair blonde. Well, the roots are gone, but the faded blue and pink splotches are still there! I kinda like it, though.
Lol. I’ve found that some of those temp dyes are actually extremely staining on the hair. Manic Panic is the worst one. So I definitely recommend using a clarifying shampoo whenever you want to switch colors because it’ll get rid of any build up.

Gosh I wish you lived in Australia where pet insurance is very inexpensive. People can be real sh***y. Sorry you had to experience that Nancy. Give Smokey cuddles for me X
Thank you. I know that people do Dr. Google and try to find home remedies, but all I wanted was some first hand experience to aid in my research. Oh well...

Hey, Im sorry you got sh** for asking opinions on stuff. I’ve been going through a tough few months with my cat as well, I don’t know if this is for all cats, or just diabetic ones, but one of the things I need to do when she’s not eating, is put this goo she’s been prescribed miratax(sp?) in her ear, it stimulates her appetite. I have also been giving her subcutaneous fluids myself, also prescribed. Maybe one of these things could be a thing to ask for your kitty to get her to eat..?
Mirataz! Smokey’s gotten that, but it seemed to stop working. And her ears are irritated right now. :/ So I got the pill version, and it is definitely helping. Thanks for convincing me to not give up on it.
Subq fluids are the #1 treatment for kidney disease. Smokey hates them, but she tolerates it long enough for me to get her daily dose of fluids in. And yes, if we miss more than a day, her appetite gets even worse.

So sorry you were treated that way. I am by no means an expert, but I do have a house full of geriatric dogs and if you ever need an ear, you can always feel free to reach out to me. I am always willing to listen, whether you want to vent or ask questions or just need someone to talk to Smokey about I am here for you!
<3 Thank you. Sometimes I just need to vent. This is so exhausting.

Hey...we don't all have unlimited funds. Asking for advice is totally legit. {{hugs}}
Exactly. I can’t afford to try random drugs without knowing it’s actually worked for someone.
Thank you, friends. <3

CaptainCanary: Roommates
For the “AU starter/drabble” thing I reblogged a few days back. @pir8grl requested No. 24: Roommates. CaptainCanary, of course!
This...may have to turn into a full story. It’s already about 1,000, which, uh, passes for short for me.
Len wouldn’t admit it, but he’s got a lot to think about.
After he betrays the Weather Wizard and, more so, the Trickster, to warn Barry Allen, it makes sense to get the hell out of town for a bit. He considering trying to find Mick, but he’s pretty sure the other man won’t understand why he’s considering changing…things. And Lisa’s on a road trip, doing her own version of introspection, and he thinks it’s best to leave her be.
An acquaintance had a small apartment up for sublet for a year in Coast City while they travel, and Leonard, far more impulsively than usual, takes it. That’s not an area where he’s ever pulled a job, and it might give him some space to think things over. He’s just semi-settled in, though, when there’s the sound of a key in the lock.
Leonard’s standing in the kitchenette area, eyeing the contents of the cupboard with a vague discontent, when he hears it. He’d had no reason to expect trouble; his cold gun is in its case in the bedroom, and he doesn’t have so much as a knife on him. Still, instinct is such that he quickly snags a steak knife from a drawer before the door opens.
The short blond woman standing in the entryway stares at him, obviously just as surprised to see him as he is to see her. Leonard, taking in the situation as quickly as he always tries to do, despite his unpreparedness for this surprise, notes her stance, one that goes instantly from shock to ready to fight, balanced, graceful and wary.
But…there are dark circles under her eyes, and she also looks unbelievably weary. She’s in trouble. Crap.
“Excuse me?” he drawls before she can speak, grabbing for the upper hand. “People generally knock, you know.”
There’s a man in the apartment.
Sara’s surprised enough to simply stare at him for a long moment as he stares back. He’s attractive, her tired brain notes—something of a surprise in itself, considering that her post-Pit system has been too absorbed with other things to pay attention to that sort of thought. Older than her, with gray in his hair. The sort of lean, fit, wariness that says he might be dangerous if he wanted to be. Well, dangerous to someone who wasn’t her. She saw the unobtrusive way he’s holding that knife.
Blue eyes, wide in surprise, then narrowed in intent thought.
He really is rather attractive.
Sara tells that particular mental voice to shut up…right as the man speaks.
“Excuse me?” he says in a low, insolent drawl, eyeing her. “People generally knock, you know.”
Well, fuck you very much, Mr. Hottie. Sara’s chin goes up. “I’m renting this apartment,” she retorts, gripping the key tightly. “I have a contract signed by both myself and the owner, and…” She holds it up. “…a key. Obviously. What the hell are you doing here?”
A flicker of surprise again, quickly concealed.
“Renting this apartment,” he says smoothly in that damned drawl. “With my own contract and key.” A pause. “I think we might have a problem.”
Sara stares at him a little longer—she may, perhaps, be a little too tired right now to deal with this crap. Then she thinks back about the acquaintance who’d offered this apartment. About a certain shifty-eyed look, and a mention that there are, after all, two bedrooms.
She sags against the door, unable to keep the fatigue from catching up at this point. She hates looking weak in front of this stranger, but she’s been looking forward to some rest and a quiet place to try to get her head together a little more, somewhere where no one knows her.
“No kidding,” she mutters, wiping a hand over her eyes. “Damnit.”
She doesn’t even bother to move when she hears the man step toward her.
Leonard has no idea why, but the flash of sympathy he feels for this woman is immediate and strong. Surprising, but definitely there. Instinct and long knowledge tell him that she’s not running from a domestic situation—he’s willing to bet she can take care of herself physically, just from the way she’s holding herself—but she looks exhausted. Like she just plain needs a break.
He gets that.
As she sags against the door frame, rubbing her eyes and letting the bag in her hand drop to the floor, he waits a moment, then hesitantly steps forward. Unless she’s the sort of actress that shouldn’t bother with this small-time shit, she’s not playing him here. And he might be a jerk, but the idea of hustling her back out onto the street would be considerably more than a jerk move.
She doesn’t even open her eyes. He’s not sure if that’s because she’s too damned tired, or because she’s sized him up as not a threat—at least, not one she can’t take. He’s pretty sure it’s the latter, and that’s a little disconcerting.
And attractive. He has a type.
“Hey,” he says quietly, trying to think of her as if she were Lisa…something that’s even more difficult when she opens her eyes and gives him a direct blue-eyed look that makes his insides do a flip-flop sort of thing. “Come in, at least. Ain’t your fault Ainsley tried to double-dip with the rent with they’re gone.” He hesitates. “Not trying to be a creep. Honest. Call someone first, if you want.”
She visibly sizes him up again. And, yeah, rather obviously decides she can take him if necessity, nodding and stepping in, closing the door behind her. Not great for the ol’ ego, though his is usually quite healthy.
However, the different sort of onceover she gives him once inside is, and the smile she lets touch her lips. Is this a flicker of interest there? He thinks there is.
“My sister already knows where I’m supposed to be, if I were to suddenly vanish,” she tells him in an arch tone. “And she’s a DA. And my father’s a cop.”
Of course. Leonard can’t help but smirk. He holds his hand out with a nod. “Len Wynters,” he tells her smoothly.
“Sara Avem.”
“Well, Sara. You think we could manage to be roommates a while?”

I always like to give a new Doctor or new Doctor/companion a shot. Some of them I never warm up to, but eventually there will be that magic again.
From the gifs and posts on her I’ve seen it seems she’s likable. I’ve heard some good things about 12 after his first season gets better. Maybe I’ll pick up during Bill’s season.

pir8grl replied to your post: Been trying to write for some of my Legends fic...
Write what you want to write. This is supposed to be fun! Don’t try to make yourself do something if your muse isn’t into it right now.
That’s exactly what I’m probably going to do. Because I’ve got two versions of making Buffy Leonard and Lisa’s younger sister in mind but I’m also really leaning towards starting the one where the Scoobies are deaged to get a second chance at growing up after they die saving the world and a few of the Legends are the ones that are chosen to raise them. Because, darn it, so many of them needed parents that gave a shit and not what they had.
(I also just realized I can’t remember if you watched Buffy or not so sorry if neither of those make much sense, lol.)

The Grinch Who Couldn't Stop Christmas From Coming - Captain Canary
Title: The Grinch Who Couldn't Stop Christmas From Coming Fandom: DC's Legends of Tomorrow Rating: Teen Pairings/Characters: Sara Lance/Leonard Snart Summary: Sara doesn't take well to Ray's idea of celebrating Christmas on the Waverider and Leonard wants to know why. Timeline: between S1 & S2, Leonard Lives Word Count: 1,384 Disclaimer: I claim no ownership over these characters. I am merely borrowing them from Berlanti Productions, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television. Betas: Thank you to shanachie for looking this over for me. Author's Note: For @pir8grl who is having a bad week.
"What are we doing here?" Leonard complained as the team gathered in the galley at Ray's insistence.
Mick started rummaging through the cupboards until he found some chips to snack on, planning on using the crunch of the chips as an excuse for why he wasn't listening to Haircut.
"As I'm sure you're all aware, back home it's getting to be Christmas time," Ray started.
"No," Sara said, standing up from the chair she'd been straddling. "No way."
Ray's eager expression drooped. "You don't even know what I was going to propose," he said with a pout.
"You want to do Christmas on the ship," Sara guessed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Yeah," Ray said, beaming again.
"You're okay with this?" Sara demanded, turning to Rip.
The captain shrugged. "I don't see much harm in it. After defeating Savage, we could use some celebration."
"C'mon, Sara, it'll be fun," Jax cajoled. "Just imagine the ship with trees, ornaments, stockings, and mistletoe." He waggled his eyebrows.
Sara rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to glance at their resident Crook, whom she wouldn't mind kissing again.
"I don't believe that's why she's objecting," Leonard chimed in.
"It'll be fun," Kendra said. "Cheery."
"What do you say, Professor?" Leonard drawled.
"I have been looking for an excuse to make my grandmother's latkes for Jefferson," Martin admitted, with a shy grin.
Sara threw her hands up in defeat and sank back into her chair, pouting.
"Why are you so against Christmas?" Ray asked. "I mean, I get Leonard and Mick not liking it, but you had a happy childhood."
"Hey," Leonard and Mick objected.
"Love Christmas," Mick quietly added.
"That's none of your business," Sara snapped and stood again, stomping out of the room.
"Easter's more her holiday," Jax joked.
"Not funny," Kendra said, slapping Jax's arm.
Leonard turned and went after Sara, not caring what the hyper puppy had planned for his Christmas celebration.
He found her in their cargo bay, throwing knives at a target.
"Remind me to never challenge you to a game of darts," he commented dryly as he leaned against the door frame.
Sara glanced at him over her shoulder and threw her last knife without looking away from him, smirking when it landed dead center.
"Impressive," Leonard acknowledged. He pushed out of his leaning position and sauntered closer to Sara. "I never would have pictured you for being a grinchier Grinch than me."
"Yeah, well, I guess it's good that we can still surprise each other," she commented, going to retrieve her knives.
"I know why I don't much care for the holiday, but I doubt that's the reason you're so against celebrating."
"You'd be correct," Sara said.
"That's it? No explanation?" he asked.
"You didn't ask for an explanation," Sara reminded him. "And I'm not much in the mood to share right now."
"Not even with me?" Leonard cajoled.
"Not even with you," Sara said, heading up the stairs.
As Leonard watched her go, something niggled at the back of his mind. He gave her time to clear the hallway before heading up the stairs himself and walking to his bunk.
When he'd first joined this team of misfits, Leonard had accessed files on all of his new teammates, needing to know exactly who it was he was aligning himself with. There was something from Sara's file that was tugging at his memory now.
Back in his room, Leonard pulled out the files from where he'd hidden them and smirked when he found it. A plan was already formulating.
Over the next couple of days, the Waverider became progressively more festive. A tree appeared in the galley, and another in the library. Most of the crew helped to decorate them, but Rip put his foot down when Mick tried to put actual candles on the trees.
On "Christmas" morning, Ray rounded the crew up early with all the enthusiasm of a five year old on a sugar high.
Luckily for him, he'd prepared coffee and a breakfast of muffins and assorted pastries before rousing his teammates.
The team slowly stumbled into the galley, with Leonard being the last to arrive.
Jax handed around stockings for everyone. Most of the team received an orange and other treats, but Sara and Leonard only had coal in their stockings, which they happily gave to Mick, much to Rip's horror.
Presents were passed around, all fabricated by Gideon, and everyone exclaimed happiness with their gifts. Even Sara was pleased with her new daggers.
As the party broke up to go get changed out of their pajamas, Leonard walked with Sara back to her room.
"What's this?" Sara asked, seeing a present wrapped in birthday wrapping paper sitting on her bed.
Leonard entered behind her, letting the door close behind him.
"A little birdy told me why you hate Christmas," he said, slowly.
"You stole my file from Rip," Sara guessed.
"Guilty," Leonard admitted.
"That's not exactly what I've been hoping you'd steal," Sara admitted, broaching a subject both had been ignoring since she'd kissed him just before Leonard narrowly escaped death at the Oculus.
Leonard smirked and nodded towards the present. "Open your present, Assassin."
Sara quirked an eyebrow at him, but reached for the present all the same. She ripped open the paper and lifted the lid of the box. Looking inside, she was unable to contain her giggle of surprise.
"Really? That's what you chose to give me?" she asked, lifting the sprig of mistletoe out of the box.
"It seemed thematically appropriate for what I really wanted to give you," he answered.
Sara's breath caught at the flash of desire that crossed his face. "Yeah?" she breathed.
Leonard lifted the mistletoe from her fingers, allowing his to brush hers as he did so, relishing that brief contact.
"Mmm-hmm," he hummed in acknowledgement as he lifted the branch above their heads and closed the distance between them.
His lips softly brushed against hers, their breath mingling until he couldn't hold back any longer and he kissed her fully. His free hand slid into Sara's hair, holding her to him as he couldn't do the last time they'd kissed.
Sara wrapped one arm around Leonard's back, the other mimicking his hold on her as she grasped the back of his neck, keeping him right where she wanted him.
Leonard wasn't sure which one of them moved to deepen the kiss first, but at the first touch of her tongue against his, he dropped the mistletoe and cupped Sara's jaw, angling her face so that he could properly claim her mouth.
The kiss ended slowly, sometime later, both of them breathing heavily as they leaned against the other for support.
"That's one of the best birthday presents that I have ever gotten," Sara said, her eyes still glazed with desire.
"Only one of the best?" Leonard asked, running his fingers through her hair.
"Nothing will top the year that I got a Felicity American Girl doll with all the outfits," Sara said. "Best Christmas and birthday ever."
"So you didn't always hate it?" Leonard said, smirking.
"No, I didn't," Sara agreed. She moved to sit on her bed, pulling Leonard along with her. "I guess I don't really hate it now. It just reminded me that I haven't really celebrated either since before I got on that boat with Oliver."
"I suppose that the League wouldn't celebrate something like Christmas, but wouldn't birthdays still be acknowledged?" Leonard asked.
Sara shrugged. "Not really. Not that I ever told anyone there when it was. A birthday celebration would have been considered frivolous to the League so I never mentioned it."
"I guess that means that we have several years' worth of birthdays to make up for," Leonard said.
"Don't tell the team," Sara rushed to say. "I don't want them making a big deal about it."
"I'm sure that Rip knows what today is to you, but if he hasn't said anything, I promise not to tell," Leonard assured her.
"But you said…"
"I said that we have several years of birthdays to make up for. Just me," kiss, "and you," kiss.
"And me and you," Sara finished, capturing his mouth in a heated kiss. They didn't talk again for a very long time.

Thanks for all the kind replies. I really appreciate it. Truly.

I'm sorry. Having to euthanize a pet is one of the hardest decisions we as pet owners have to make. I wish that they could all go peacefully in their sleep, but unfortunately that doesn't always happen. I know how you're feeling, but please don't feel guilty. (I know easier said than done). It's way harder when it's only one aspect of their lives that are affected, but mobility is a huge one, esp. for big dogs. I have a 16 y.o. dog that's in a similar boat. Best wishes!
Much easier said than done! I hope your dog remains healthy as can be for as long as possible. <3<3

Sadly putting your pupper down may be one of the best options for her. BUT before you chose that option, have you tried giving her glucosamine tablets to help? We used to give those to our black lab and it seemed to help. I don't wanna see your pupper get put down but I don't wanna see them in pain or sad. We had to put one of our dogs down and it was the hardest thing to do, he was happy but the tumor got too big and he couldn't pee anymore :/ your pup is in my prayers
We haven’t tried glucosamine, I’ll bring it up with the vet, thanks for the tip. Tumors are horrible. We had to put two other dogs down because of tumors. <3<3
crazymaryt replied to your post “I need some advice.  We have a 14 year old Border Collie with extreme...”
This sounds like what happened with our 12 yrs border collie mix. She became jaundiced and couldn't move her back legs. She was semi-house broken and would sleep in the garage most of the time but when she couldn't move well she started going to the bathroom on herself and blankets. Which she had never done. At that point she was barely eating. The vet suggested euthanasia and we felt it was the best thing for her. It about killed me but I think it was the best thing for
crazymaryt replied to your post “I need some advice.  We have a 14 year old Border Collie with extreme...”
her when she got in the car so we could take her to the vet I think she knew. This probably didn't help at all but I understand fully what you are going through.
Poor puppy! Luckily our girl can still make it outside, she just can’t support herself well when going. Soon I know she won’t be able to at all. Sorry about your puppers :(.
pir8grl replied to your post “I need some advice.  We have a 14 year old Border Collie with extreme...”
OK, this sucks. I've been there and it just sucks, but yes, you do need to have this conversation with your vet. Border collies are very active by nature, so what you're saying is that she can't do the things that make her happy any more. You also need to consider that you can get seriously hurt trying to pick up a dog that size, and that if she becomes incontinent, it's a huge mess. Also, 14 is old for a big dog. It may just be time to treat her to a really good me
pir8grl replied to your post “I need some advice.  We have a 14 year old Border Collie with extreme...”
al, some quality cuddles, and then say goodbye. I am SO sorry. {{{huggles}}}
She’s always had health problems so to be honest I’m surprised she’s made it to 14. Border Collies are extremely active and that’s why I think her immobility is especially tough for her. She can’t do anything.  It’s so sad and frustrating all around.  <3<3
here-there-or-anywhere replied to your post “I need some advice.  We have a 14 year old Border Collie with extreme...”
this reminds me of the time right before my family decided to euthanize our last dog, about 4 years ago. it was tough, but like your dog, he could barely walk anymore but was otherwise ok. We eventually decided to no longer prolong his pain.
It really sucks when they are fine but there’s just that one thing showing their age and pain. :(
camasy replied to your post “I need some advice.  We have a 14 year old Border Collie with extreme...”
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that. I lost one of my dogs this Summer. He was 14, had a good life with lots of fun, sunbathing in der garden, peting his belly and so on. I'm sure, you just want the best for your Dog. No pain, good health. Now you have to ask yourself, is your dog still having a good Life? Is this the Life, you want for him? And do you keep him for you, 'cause you can't let him go. Are you selfish, or do you still want the best for your Dog. Feel huged!
Sorry about your dog but it does sound like he had a good life. Feeling selfish has gone both ways with me. I feel selfish because I want her to stay around but I also feel like it’s selfish too put her down because she’s so difficult to take care of now. Even if it’s the best thing for her I’m going to feel guilty and selfish either way. I guess there’s no getting around that.
