This year had a lot of ups, but so many downs haha, I practically spent the last two months in poor health u.u But you've all stuck with me regardless and I want to thank you so much for that. It means so so much to me how much growth I've had over this past year, and how much you've been here to see it~

It's soundproofed, he has a couple of sets, a more static streaming room, and this recording booth which he set up on a whim and normally uses as extra storage. Today, however, he's commissioned Bard to make him some original music.

Kendra: And so ends chapter one of Beautiful Friends! I had a lot of fun co-writing this, and will continue to do so as long as Raiettei will have me! I don't know what's going to go up between chapters - That's up to her, but please remember to get your questions and comments in, the ask box is open! Anything you'd like to know, we'll answer it if we can without interfering with something we're hoping to talk about more organically~

Jessica: This... has been a long time coming, haha~ When I first wrote Beautiful Friends, I was at a very low point in my life. My mom had just passed away and this was kind of... my way of processing my grief? It was a good outlet at the time. However, shortly thereafter, my dad's status began declining rapidly and I was forced to become his fulltime carer. This, coupled with MY rapidly declining mental health, meant that I just couldn't continue the comic. There were several false starts on the way here, but like. My migration back to Tumblr was just the ticket, really. Did this chapter end the way I originally envisioned? Who can say~ I myself am quite satisfied with the path we're taking, and I hope you'll all stick with me as we press forward into new frontiers~

And I hope you'll cheer on Pippin as well!

Kendra: the eKinetic is a wonder of modern technology; completely modular, built around an inexpensive core of a basic phone, the number of modules and cases are nearly limitless, and the reason why Effkay Communications effectively holds a telecommunications monopoly. Modules range from simple storage and cameras and smartphone screen to highly specialized musical, audiovisual, or even scientific equipment. Each one is powered from a magic battery which can power the phone for weeks of use, though many people charge them overnight anyway.

Tattoos in Astana come in two main varieties; both stem from a process of dying the fur and the skin underneath such that it permanently alters the color of the hair follicles, making the tattoo visible without requiring shaving. But one goes farther, tapping into a person's innate magical ability, if they have any, allowing for special effects such as simple motions, altering colors, or luminescence, as well as the ability to 'turn them off'.

Kendra: Magic is relatively common in Astana, though actual spells are rare these days, with the exception of generalized healing magic. Rabbits mostly have an affinity for healing magic, but Pippin instead has the much rarer (for a rabbit) fire affinity. It's probable that Pippin couldn't have learned healing even if they had tried.
