Had to make a second post for this cos you're only allowed one video per post.
Here's stage door from Wednesday, apologies for the shoddy camera work, but as usual David was lovely to everyone and we met a lady who had gone to school with him and had nothing but great things to say about him apparently he's always been a ball of sunshine, she told us they used to play Dr who in the playground and of course David was always the doctor, he definitely manifested the crap out of that one lol. I managed to capture his reaction to seeing her after all these years and it was lovely his face lit up enjoy 😊

Closing Week for Macbeth at the Harold Pinter Theatre - celebrating the kids' final performances
Three young boys (Casper Knopf, Theo Wake, and Raffi Phillips) shared the role of Macduff's son/Fleance/Young Siward - and they were all excellent. On each of the boys' final performances, the cast celebrated them during the curtain call.
Video Sources: [ Casper Knopf's Instagram ] - from 11 December 2024 [ Theo Wake's Instagram ] - from 13 December 2024 Tony Daddingham's video of the [ final curtain call with Raffi ]
...and also do yourself a favor and watch [ TennantSideburns' footage ] of Casper's final curtain call - because it's adorable.

I cannot taint with fear. What’s the boy Malcolm? Was he not born of woman? The spirits that know All mortal consequences have pronounced me thus: “Fear not, Macbeth. No man that’s born of woman Shall e’er have power upon thee.” Then fly, false   thanes, And mingle with the English epicures. The mind I sway by and the heart I bear Shall never sag with doubt nor shake with fear.

this moment was so fucking surreal. i went into david tennants macbeth somewhat blind; i knew the story, ive read the original, but i had no idea what was changed and what was different. when the lights went out, i was under the impression that macbeth himself did not appear until scene three. the moment that the lights went up and macbeth, david tennant, was standing there, like this great, tortured statue slowly moving and wiping blood from himself - it was breathtaking, oh my god. i don't think ill ever forget this specific moment. this was my first time in an actual theatre, apart from my small local, child productions and im so, so glad it was. i can't imagine how amazing it must have felt to see this play multiple times, but im also so extremely glad i only saw it once. I don't think anything could have beat that first feeling, completely blinded, struck by just how surreal this really was.
all hail

dude david tennant macbeth is so so amazing i cannot believe that actually happened.
not gonna spoil obvs but i just wanna say that whatever you’re imagining it to be, it’s 10x better. the acting is so phenomenal (duh) the music is gorgeous the staging is fantastic every decision was clearly so deliberate and everything counts it’s so awesome.
the only other thing i wanna say is that david does his usual little flares in his acting which kind of took me by surprise and it sounds kind of weird but trust me if you also suffer from david tennant disease and have watched every thing he’s been in ever (/hj) then you’ll know them when you see them.
anyway 10/10 would macbeth again my face hurts from smiling so much and i was shaking afterwards

Should we talk about the Scottish Play? Yours truly has been privileged enough to see both runs of the DT/CJ led production. And I wish I were able to explain how it affected me. I’ve seen lots of Shakespeare. I’ve seen David Tennant do lots of Shakespeare. But in a way that sounds like I’m exaggerating but I’m totally not? This one changed my life. It’s complicated, it’s deeply personal. It’s hard to put into words. But what a perfect, beautiful, intensely moving piece of theatre (1000% totally worth flying across the world for twice). I don’t think I CAN put it into words that would do it justice. So have pictures.
Last year the theatre was much more strict about photography during curtain call. I guiltily dared once and I have one almost usable picture that proves I was there. And okay a really crap one but I love the blurry smile and the stark blood on the stage (the Pinter run didn't have blood at the end, i missed it).

Turns out, my pictures this year aren’t much better. Even with a house and production that was totally cool with photos and videos during curtain call. But I tried. The last time I saw it (13 Dec), you can just see the bandage on DT’s wrist from his new tattoo. My favorite thing is how relieved both he and Cush look after they’re done performing. I think even these kind of not great pictures capture that.

Just... look at them.
Bonus. A wee video from the penultimate night of the run. Cheering for wee middle child for his last performance. Bless him.
I guess I’ll do a separate post of stage door photos? I have... a few. They're a little clearer than these without stage fog and Birnam Wood lighting. And long post is long.
