There was a youtube channel I used to watch alot as a kid who made LPS videos but also Yugioh Abridged and anime videos too. I found them through a video they made about an emo LPS custom they made and they also made LPS “Randomness” videos including the emo LPS. I think their channel name was like “xxpinkgothxx” something like that, but it seems like their channel is gone and there are no reuploads of their videos.

I like worldbuilding of all sorts -- speculative biology, magic systems, conlangs, fictional political and economic systems, etc. Since I'm a biologist by trade, speculative biology is the only field of these in which I have some actual expertise.

The single biggest project I'm working on at the moment is Ea: Our Second Chance, in which I've spent the last few years building a planet. It is generally Earth-like enough to be inhabitable by humans, though with its own quirks (such as orbital mechanics or carbon cycle). It has macroscopic "plant" and "animal" life at a point in its history roughly corresponding to the Late Paleozoic or Early Mesozoic on Earth. It also has large-scale human settlement, which largely takes the form of seven nations based on philosophy/ideology closely inspired by Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. The content is not very systematic, as I jump from one argument to another, almost always described from the point of view of the different human societies. For example I describe Ea's molecular biology from the POV of a biotech company seeking industrial applications, its plant reproduction from that of a religious society that gives conflicting theological interpretations of it, in-universe blog posts, treatises on heraldry using local organisms, etc.

Some other stuff I'm working on include a story (collaborative writing with my good friend pinkgothic/Neike) set in a pre-glaciation Antarctica inhabited by sapient dinosaurs, short stories from a setting inspired by Lovecraft's Dreamlands, an eventually novel-length history of the future of Earth and humankind in which each chapter will covera timespan ten times longer than the previous, and occasional over-detailed infographics about biology and history. I also have a now-completed specbio project (Settlers from the Deep) in which land life on Earth had to re-evolve from aquatic and cave-dwelling ancestors after the surface was sterilized by a solar flare.

Talk to me about something interesting. A real conversation, with all the engagement and effort you'd put into ~discourse~. But something real, uh, something substantive. Is discourse not substantive? I don't know. I just mean, talk to me about something that you care about for reasons independent or either morality or brute self interest. Talk to me about something you care about for its own sake. Something that excites you or compels you. Aren't we supposed to be nerds? Isn't this what makes a nerd?
