You might not have known this about Pillomin, but he enjoys a good cake. After all, you didn't think he got that pleasingly plump eating healthy all the time, did you? He adores cinnamon, and today he helped me bake this cinnamon swirl cake. He's actually quite the accomplished baking assistant, and it was a pleasure to work with him. I even shook his hand (er, arm nub) and thanked him for a job well done when we were all finished. It was even better when we go to eat the results of our labor. =)

The one good thing about your human being super late about taking down the holiday lights, according to Pillomin, is that they provide a beautiful nighttime landscape for introspective thinking. I found him having a little moment last night, perched on the back of a couch, just quietly thinking to himself as he watched the blinking lights. A peaceful moment for a thoughtful rootling. =)

Pillomin was out and about today, admiring the greenery. It's almost officially Summer, and the weather is getting hotter now. Despite that, there are lush greens everywhere in the backyard. As I attended to this and that around the yard, I found Pillomin pondering various plants and garden whimsy introspectively. I left him to his thoughts, knowing he very much enjoys spending quiet time with nature. =)

Pillomin and Marshmallow were a great help to me today in setting up all the decorations in the front yard for the trick-or-treating kiddies. We've got the spooky graveyard (complete with skulls), all our cute Halloween whimsy, and a bit pot of mums. The colorful leaves were an added bonus provided by nature. All we have to do now is put out all the pumpkins, but we'll wait until the morning of Halloween to do that. We've got some smash-happy humans in our neighborhood, and we value our pumpkins. =)

Pillomin needs everyone to stop what they're doing right now and look at this bee. Have you ever seen a more adorable creature? The fluff, the fuzz, the swagger, the big adorable eyes... What's not to love?! Definitely a most attractive bee. Pillomin hope these bees are out there living their best - and fuzziest - lives.

Squishy Birthday!

Pillomin: “Happy birthday, Marshmallow, my dear friend.” Mudpie: “Eat lots of cake! Also share cake with Mudpie.”

Marshmallow: “Why, thank you, everyone. I appreciate it!”

Fernadette: “We got you a little something!” Mudpie: “Actually, a big something.”

Marshmallow: “Oh?” Pillomin: “Look over there.”

Marshmallow: “Oh... my goodness...”

Marshmallow: “An authentic Pusheen... A Squisheen, even! The marvelous combination of a Squishmallow and a Pusheen plushie! In the shape of a s’more! S’moresheen!”

Marshmallow: “It’s... It’s gorgeous.”

Marshmallow: “So soft and squishy...”

Marshmallow: *jumps on it and bounces* “This is magnificent! Soft and fluffy! Like a real marshmallow, but one that’ll never spoil!”

Marshmallow: “This is the single best birthday present I’ve ever gotten in my life.”

Marshmallow: “Thank you so much. You are true friends. I love you all.” *sniffles* Mudpie: “Group hug!” Fernadette: “We love you too, Marshmallow.” Pillomin: “And all your outlandish stories. Never change, friend.”

Pillomin would like everyone to appreciate not only the beauty of these gorgeous mushies, but also their delightfully whimsical name. Can't you just see tiny fairies wearing these as fashion statements? Pillomin can, and he's having a little chuckle about it as we speak. =)

The Spring Equinox, otherwise known as the Vernal Equinox, isn't until tomorrow. Pillomin was going to do the honors, but he knows Ashleaf is kindof the self-proclaimed princess of bright colors and pretty flowers, so he decided to let her usher in Spring tomorrow. For today, Pillomin was out looking at all the greenery that's pushing up through the brown leaves, the buds on trees and bushes, and the new life that's just beginning to emerge. It was a good day to ponder life, the environment, and the changing seasons. =)

Pillomin loves the large red oak and even larger sugar maple in our yard so much that he wanted to do an appreciation post for them. The oak is twenty years old, and the sugar maple is twenty-five. Some of the leaves are as big as he is, and they were so green, especially with the sun behind them. Looking up into the shade of the branches as the sun glistens down through the leaves was an existential moment for Pillomin, and he always loves feel small in the best of ways next to these silent giants. =)

It snowed last night! There was hardly any wind, so everything was still and quiet, with large, fluffy flakes falling all around. Pillomin ventured out to take in the beauty of it all. When it snows late at night with no one around, it can be one of the most scenic and peaceful experiences. Perfect for an introspective rootling like Pillomin. =)

Pillomin would like everyone to check out this handsome, portly fellow. Clearly he is doing very well for himself. He's even got some little mushroom and insect friends to keep him company. As a portly mandrake rootling himself, Pillomin always loves to see good representations of happy mandrakes in the art world. Truly beautiful and creative artwork! =)
