Today, its demolition was announced. All cities change, but the scope and pace of the change Seattle is currently undergoing is often breathtaking. Just yesterday, KIRO reported that it was the 79th anniversary of the Showbox opening its doors. The club has undergone many incarnations as a venue (nightclub, movie theater, burlesque house, comedy club), but has managed to survive.
