🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

So I read fanfiction for awhile but I actually started writing fics in high school during my marvel phase and I wrote a lot but only posted some of my fics. Eventually I started venturing into other fandoms that inspired me enough to write and post. Finally ended up witing skz because the brainrot was so strong that i went from reading fics to writing my own for them fairly quickly and yeah here we are!

🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love

honestly i don't really read that much fanfiction (please feel free send me some recs i do want to read more) (i do have like so many open tabs on my phone of fics ive been meaning to read um. dont want to think about how long they've been there.)

but here's two fics i've read very recently and enjoyed:

next level by meloncafe (seunglix. where felix has a massive crush on seungmin and has an anonymous rival in an arcade game that he befriends via text while trying to form a friendship with seungmin, its so fun and cute!!)

(won't you) tell me you miss me by bumblespook (jeongsung, they were roommates but have moved out to live on their own while mutually pining and neither will admit their feelings)

no comment? i don't know i'm trying really hard and i just can't think of any at the moment (very surprising since i have so many fandoms i think about a lot)

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

I don't remember what the weirdest topic is but I once ended up watching History's Greatest Heists with Pierce Brosman as research for the spidey minlix fic because I wanted to see what kind of stuff people did for heists in real life as opposed to fictional shows. I've also looked into what paintings and valuable artifacts are in NYC museums (@ the fbi i swear I wasn't planning anything I just think its interesting!)

❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?

OH! i actually have a dream plot for descendants, so ive always wanted a leverage au (i dont know if you know the show but its thieves conning the rich for good, think modern robin hood) but core four + ben as the leverage crew. i dont know who would write it best but i would love to read it, or maybe write it idk lol. sea 3 would definitely be a rival heist crew in said au.

Hello ! Today I am going to talk about a very popular musical: Mamma Mia.

Mamma Mia is constituted of the songs of the famous worldwide group ABBA. It was written by two of its members (Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson) and also by Catherine Johnson. It premiered in London on the 6th April 1999. Since then, it got produced in more than 50 country in the whole world. Its debut on Broadway were well-welcomed by the audience.

The story takes place on the fictional Island of Kalokairi in Greece. It tells the story of Sophie, the daughter of Donna, who is about to get married. Unfortunately Sophie never met her father before. That’s why after she found the secret diary of her mother, she took the decision to invite the three men that her mother dated at the time of her conception.

The title is a reference of the song “Mamma Mia“ sung by ABBA. The whole playlist is composed by the song of the group.

The musical became even more famous in 2008, after the release of the film. The “golden“ casting contributed to its popularity ( Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosman, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried etc). It became the highest grossing live-action musical of all time after it was surpassed by Beauty and the Beast in 2017. It was also the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman (Judy Grammer), until it was surpassed by Wonder Woman also in 2017 (Patty Jenkins).

The success in the box office led to the realization of a sequel named Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. The second movie was released on the 20th of July in 2018. Because of the success of the first movie, people rushed in theaters the day of its release. It proved that the fandom is still “alive“ and that people still want to know more about the characters. Due to all those success, a third movie is in discussion. There is no informations about it yet, except that Judy Grammer is thinking a lot about it. In one of her interview she affirms that this franchise, was to be a trilogy.

To finish, I wanted to ask you about the reasons behind such popularity. Indeed, Mamma Mia, is made of ABBA’s songs that were at the top of the charts during their time. ( Dancing Queen was number one between 1976 and 1977 in the US and also in England). Does the musical became famous because of its plot, or because the playlist is composed by the most famous popular song of the 70s ?

In my opinion, I think it helped a lot. Usually, the musicals make their songs popular depending on how well-liked it is by the audience. Here it’s the opposite, people knew the songs and because of that the curiosity led people to go watch the show or the movie. Fortunately, the plot was also great otherwise it would have been a big disappointment for the fans.

But still, I think that with this exemple we can see how popular songs can influence the audience on a show or a movie.

This is Edinburgh, Scotland, where I was this past week. I was completely impressed by and in love with the city. As I walked around I could not but ask myself "how have I never been here before?". Yes, it's gray and rainy, making Northern Germany looking like the Caribbean in terms of sun, but Jeez is that city astonishing! The flight in was already quite pleasant thanks to the elderly couple sitting next to me. Let's call them Patrick and Miaread. He, a British and she, an Irish, both living in New Castle on the way back home from Hamburg where their British daughter lives with her German husband and two German little grandchildren. I asked her in German "Entschuldigung, darf ich hier..." Miaread interrupted with a friendly tone "Oh darling, I am sorry but I don't speak anything but English", "Even better! that's all you need to talk to me!" I replied. It was a shame: I had never been to Ireland, but I could name some celebrities coming from there: Pierce Brosman, Liam Neeson... Oscar Wilde. I asked her if she liked Edinburgh "It's a lovely city" replied Patrick for the first time. They asked me if I were American (my accent, always my accent...) "no, but I lived and studied there for a long time. I am actually from Brazil", as everybody else in the planet they were surprised to hear that due to my Asian features, so as always, I readily clarified "most people don't know about it, but Brazil has the largest Japanese community outside Japan". The flight went by faster in view of our lively conversation. From time to time Miaread would hold Patrick's hand with affection and he would smile at her. I have always heard that Irish people hated the English due to their long history of conflicts, just like the Chileans and Argentines, Greeks and Turks... But seeing those two next to me just proved that love can be an effective antidote against this type of creeds. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
