it was a post thats like “here’s my headcanon on this character’s sexuality” and i was like “okay sure” but then i saw harvey got “straight” and i went blind with rage

#pidge replies #and i mean the characters in sdv are 'playersexual'#which is the creators being lazy in most cases #and trying to claim representation #when they dont really offer it in any major way and just leave it up to player interpretation #so calling them bi/pan usually gives the creators too much credit #but at the same time trying to apply straightness to them is just... weird as hell #its complicated #it just reminds me of the whole 'playersexual' bullshit of the da2 times #where people asked the devs if the characters id as pan or bi #and they're just like :)#and then if you play a female character and romance anders you never find out about his relationship with karl #stuff like that #i feel like its giving the creators too much credit to say they're 'canonically' anything #but its also shitty to try to apply straightness to characters who are definitely Not That just makes me side eye you so hard

i’ve been thinking about my old dragon age fics, especially basvaraad-- which i’ve been wanting to rewrite for a long time-- but i’ve been playing with the idea of revamping my hawke from that one... since like... she was lowkey a self-insert (like literally all my ocs, to some degree), but that was when i identified as a girl???
