"But like what if this is the point in our hero's journey where things get a little bit...darker"
Yeah no, this has gotta be some sort of forshadowing and I'm in pain already
I love morally grey characters but there's going to need to be some sort of breaking point for Mk, specifically Mk, if that happens. Mk is already under a lot of stress
But knowing Mk he isn't going to wake up one day and just decide he's done enough.
My biggest bet right now is that new villain and Mk (someone who is scared of having another Lbd) is going to feel that threat or be scared of it even coming close to happening again and he’s going to snap
Remember Wukong with Bai He? (Lbd's host)
How far is Mk going to go to stay a delivery boy? To keep the world like this forever
#give mk a break#justice for mk#angst#does this count as angst#anyways#lego monkie kid#lmk season 4 spoilers#lmk season 4#monkie kid mk#lmk#picture perfect arc for mk???

Wish Granted AU: Star: 🌟
Yeah, I finally got to the boy! Took long enough, huh? 😂 So I dud make a short character inspiration from a reblog chain a few weeks ago, so I'll go more into Star's character here:
So, much like the film itself, Star comes to Earth because of Asha's wish was so powerful, and aids her save Rosas. However, for "Wish Granted", he has no idea how to actually grant her wish. She basically fills him in on what's going on, and agrees to help. But he doesn't really understand why they need help. From his point of view, most of the humans on this part of Earth, and especially in Rosas look happy enough. He's just utterly fascinated with the animals, the trees, Asha, and just experiencing what humans see everyday.
But then he visits the Hamlet (in an animal disguise) when Asha wants to say goodbye to her Saba and mother. Star sees how sick Sabino has gotten, and the fear Sakina has for her daughter going back into danger. The Starboy sees that Asha's wish is entirely to help her family and community. (Its greatly emphasized once he gets to Rosas itself too) He partially understands and gladly accepts the task to help her. Asha can't believe this magical boy is a Star, it should be impossible. But just as her father said, the stars are there to believe in possibility. Star here is the impossible, made possible! Its no wonder his loveable and joyous personality leads her to falling for him! 😆
I took inspiration from this segment of the concept art book where they attempted to give plushie Star some kind of depth and character arc leftover from Starboy. They really tried to give Star something more than just being a toy, and Disney said "nah, a toy is good enough. Kids will love it." So Star's arc will be he starts off naive about the world and thinks everything is perfect. But once he starts seeing more of the people having other emotions other than happiness, he's processing how a human feels this. It hits harder when he actually feels a wish get destroyed, he feels their pain for a while after he connects with them. This is all going to connect to "At All Costs" when finally get that love confession scene! 😉
Now, my favorite part: POWERS!!! Star can shapeshift into different animals he sees, with his telltale sign of him being gold with white fur/hair. (Example image below) He's got a white six pointed star on his parts of his body that glow slightly, even in a human form, its just covered up by his black caped outfit.
I still kind of hate that Disney actually thought Star was too similar Genie just because he changes into animals. Like, what are you talking about? (I actually thought of MK or Beast Boy more than Genie.) Yeah, Genie could do that too, but he also changed costumes, size, shape, face, broke the 4th wall and did impersonations of movie actors of the time. Star didn't do all that. Besides, YOU MADE MAUI CHANGE INTO ANIMALS AND APPROVED OF IT!
Rant aside, He can change into any animal, but only has one human form. That's not only because there's way too many variations of people for him to adapt and he's not at that level of power yet. He mainly choose this particular human form because.... he thought Asha would like it. (He even gets the cape idea after he sees a picture of Magnifico. He just LOVED how that looked) Think of it as a boy trying make himself look better for the girl he has a crush on. 😂 His design is inspired by these three pieces of concept art combined with a dash of a superhero vibe. (Superheroes are hardwired into my brain, I tried my best NOT to do that! 😂)
Star can make animals talk, at least for a limited time, like when be has his big introduction song and the forest animals are his band. Animals are naturally attracted to Star, because he literally radiates pure joy and love. Those little critters just adore him! Think of this scene here:
One last thing to add is that once he's on Earth, and gets into Rosas, thus is when he gets the most attached to the planet. He has a big family with the stars, but he really wanted to be where the people are. He wants to see them dancing, ect...Meeting great people didn't just end with Asha, but also meeting the 7 Teens. He learns about their wishes as one desires, while confused on Simon's sleepiness/sadness. He actually attempts to heal Simon and can gain a new power. Star is not sure on how to react to Dahlia, who doesn't seem to have a wish. She seems happy cooking for the king (whom she has a crush on) and queen, no questions asked. Although, Dahlia does seem particularly curious about Star, even before finding out his magical side. She even tries to tell him to give up on granting Asha's wish, but he's definitely not doing that. 😂
When he meets the King and Queen, let's just say there's going to be a lot of angst/comedy with that. But when he has the mini stand off with Amaya. OH BOY, he's going to understand way more heavy emotions after meeting her...
(Star in this version is voiced by Jeremy Jordan, because he's a musical and VA legend! Plus he sounds so fun in every role he's in!)
Aaaand, that does it for Star! I mentioned in another post how when you look into his eyes, you can see microscopic galaxies or mini stars in eyes, like you can see the universe in his eyes! (When it gets to the At All Costs song, Asha can be seen in his eyes like she becomes part his universe) Any other bits will be revealed later, but I wanted to flesh the guy out here! He's a lot of fun to write and draw!
Now next up are the King, Queen and their ferocious yet spoiled pet Lynx! 😉

Small World.
That GR Research guy in Texas liked an amplifier, two actually from a company named Galeon. One was a 75 Watt per side transistor and the other a 60 Watt per side Tuber. It turns out that the person behind this company is that guy that did a questionable TAS review of that Technics amp.
Hmm a reviewer and a manufacturer and a competitor. Here is a hint of conflict of interest.
I like Texans. I have known a few and find them good people and up front about stuff. My natural tendency is to like them until they go too far. So GR Research liked the transistor amp but loved the tuber. He is a tube lover so that is his preference and well thereby hangs the tale.
The Galeon company owner is Thomas Tan his site is Thomas&stereo. The products are found under Galeon audio
Galeon is based in Quebec which is why he uses the French word Galeon for what in English is Galleon the type of ship. He sells stuff in USD.
His stuff has been praised, but..... Every review is 5 stars? Hmmmm. The pictures of the tube amp show Chinese tubes (Psvane) and those have lets call it a checkered history. The tube amps are made in China by a company called Doge. Thomas knows them and well everything is made in China now. The Doge Website is off line so... My spidy senses are tingling.
I am going to focus on the tuber the TS 120. It is rated 50 Watts RMS per side and is an integrated amp with tone controls. It is advertised as a 60 Watt unit (120/2) and claims up to 100 Watts peak. RMS is truth kids. It only has two tubes in front of the power tubes and one must be the differential thing. That is not enough to properly buffer the amp from outside reactance and have tone controls. The main part sure seems similar to a Dynaco Mk III with tone controls. I have my doubts.
Mr Thomas does a soliloquy on how he worked to voice the sound using specific capacitors and resistors to get just what he wanted.
OK stop right there. You can either have accuracy or voice. A perfect amplifier would have no voice. What goes in comes out with enough power to drive speakers. Making it sound they way you prefer is tailoring distortion.
Speaking of speakers the output impedance is not very good. The damping factor is listed as low as 5.6 and as high as 10.8. One is poor the other is worse. That means the speaker reactance will actually change the frequency response. I had doubts about the ARC with a 30 to one damping factor.
I know enough to be dangerous, but the TS 120 is actually less powerful than the ARC Cl60 and has fewer tubes per side and the ARC has a bunch of FETs to buffer the input and do fancy electrical things.
My feeling is the TS120 would sound a lot like the Dynaco Mk III with nicer parts. Nicer parts help only so much. People still like the Mk III.
If I had a lot of money I would love to try it out as I think the ARC would kick its ass. The price of the beast is almost 5k bucks in USD and for that you can get a great preamp with phono and the ARC power amp with money to spare.
At first I toyed with this thing as a candidate for my son-in-law. Now no fucking way.
Does this guy still pretend to do unbiased reviews?

I'm one of those who still has a believe that the rest of JNPR will die by the end of the series. The precedent is there plus the inspiration for each of their characters. However I'm worried that if they choose to go down that route we will end up with a GoT style "eh kill em because we can."
They won't. The thing I need people to better understand is that character allusions are just that, allusions. While they can help us predict how a certain character's arc will go, they aren't a picture perfect map of what's going to happen.
Weiss is Snow White but I doubt anyone believes that she's literally going to be fed a poison apple and have to be woken up by her true love. Penny is Pinocchio but she isn't going to be turned into a donkey.
Pyrrha dying was foreshadowed by her name, sure, but her character following that path doesn't mean all of JNPR will.
And you've gotta trust CRWBY more, my guy. I know they aren't paragons of good writing, but they also aren't as wholely incompetent as y'all apparently think they are. They aren't going to kill off JNR on a whim, just like they weren't going to kill off Qrow after he lost his VA. They wouldn't be putting this much time and effort into their story lines if it just amounted to nothing.
This isn't like GOT where they were going along with source material that made them look more competent than they really were; until they ran out and had to make up shit on the fly. It's not like live action shows where an actor leaves the project so they need to get rid of their character regardless of their importance to the plot.
There's a planned story in place. MK aren't just going to abandon it so flippantly.

The Mezco Iron Man Mark 42 is an exemplary submittal in the high-end collectible action figure market. I suppose that gives away the end of this article, but the truth is, I rarely open up a figure that I can feel the quality of in my hand immediately. The Mezco Iron Man Mark 42 is one such figure.
I am not sure the Mark 42 is actually the Mark 42 in comics (looked it up, it’s pretty close). The black and gold is a pretty unique color scheme for a set of Iron Man armor and one I find myself being a big fan of any time I see it.
With that in mind, I suppose it was inevitable that I would be picking up this exclusive. I’ve talked endlessly about Iron Man on this website (or at least I feel as I do… look here for what turns out to be my only comic mention of the character) and I can’t imagine someone collecting action figures and not knowing who Tony Stark is, so I think we can skip the introductions. Let’s just get to the good stuff.
What is in the Mezco Iron Man Mark 42 box?
The bulk of the pictures will have the Arc Reactor in his chest lit up. Without the light, this is what it looks like.
A lot. With the Mezco Iron Man Mark 42, not only do we get a very weighty, solid, metal Iron Man figure, we also get a slew of pack-ins. We get six interchangeable hands, a chest repulsor effect, repulsor blast effects, booster effects, wrist rockets, *deep breath to wrap it up* power pods (hip launchers) with blasting mini rocket effects and the standard Mezco base and flight stand. Oh, and before I forget, we get a decent (not great) Tony Stark head sculpt under the magnetic faceplate.
Finally, he has a light up chest repulsor effect that looks great. I know there are more Mez figures coming with light up features (Darkseid, Cable, Green Lantern, Cyclops) but this is the first one I’ve actually owned.
I bet you’re thinking, “Darian, isn’t this where you usually drop some lit pictures?”
Yes. You are correct.
Lights out!
Mez Base!
Wrist rockets, away!
That’s about as far as you get with the ankle rockers.
What doesn’t work with the Mezco Iron Man Mark 42?
Shortlist… are you ready? The backplate that covers his on/off switch falls off if you don’t snap it in place good, and the magnetic faceplate was a pain to get off. It will feel like you’re going to break the figure. I am thinking maybe the faceplates were applied before the paint was finished drying? Regardless, I got mine off with no damage to the helmet or his head, but do be careful.
After futzing with him for photos, I found a couple things I wasn’t happy with. Trivial perhaps, but still annoyed me. The forward motion of his legs is very limited by the upper thigh armor. You can drop the leg some, and squeeze it under the hip. However, I had some slight paint rub after I did it, so I would not suggest it.
Also, the wrist rockets are a pain to insert and keep in the hole. Hopefully, they improve on that design. It doesn’t need a lot. There seems to be a lot of flash on the “peg” where you insert it into the arm that looks to be preventing it from getting in there good.
Finally, the elbow dangle of motion may as well have been a single joint. The bicep/gauntlet combo all but kills it.
I suppose one could say it’s too old school to look modern, and too modern to look old school. However, I think Mezco did a great job at creating a unique looking figure based on a mold they already owned. It’s a win for us and them. A win-win, even.
What works with the Mezco Iron Man Mark 42?
This exclusive Mezco Iron Man Mark 42 has the distinct advantage of being the first Mezco Iron Man in the hands of the public. That means this is the first time we are putting actual eyes and hands on these effects pieces. Future Mezco Iron Man figures (I have the standard on PO) may seem like “old hat” by the time they arrive, but everything on this figure looks really fresh.
The joints are smooth. This is a heavy, quality figure. The paint apps are crisp, the lighting effect is very well done and each one of these accessories is highly detailed. In short, this is probably as close to “perfect” as one can get with an Iron Man action figure. I was already looking forward to the release of the “Classic” Iron Man, but now that I know what to expect, I cranked those excitement knobs to 11.
Should you get the Mezco Iron Man Mark 42?
If you can find one, and you can afford aftermarket prices, then yes. I cannot imagine a comic fan who also collects action figures not being happy with at least one aspect of this figure. It really is that good. During my recent display restructuring, I tried to make my comic characters more of a focus than they have been in the past. After all, I love the movies, but the movies wouldn’t exist without the comics. As such, I have a shelf dedicated to nice comic IM armors and this one definitely takes the proverbial iron cake.
You can still pick him up here:
Amazon (if you’re rich)
eBay
This is the Sentinel “Armorize” Tony head sculpt. Arguably the best part of that figure. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fit on the neck peg.
The #Mezco Mk 42 Exclusive #IronMan is here. If you were able to pick him up, you already know he's pretty awesome. If you didn't? I have some cool stuff to show you. MERRY CHRISTMAS! #actionfigures The Mezco Iron Man Mark 42 is an exemplary submittal in the high-end collectible action figure market.
